Carthage

Explosions rocked the city as Imperial Forces fell back while rockets flew over their heads. "The rebels are coming too close to the citadel! Men, move forward!" exclaimed an officer as he led his company into a deathtrap. It seemed as if the many rebel groups that were fighting the dictatorship of Prime Minister Hargin had finally grouped together. However, no one in the government thought that was possible. The rebel groups were too fragmented, too un-controlable, that no one took the news of an allied rebel attack on the city seriously. That was their mistake.

Down by the docks

Storage-houses on the side of the dock burned to the ground as fighting between Blue Rogues(one of the rebel organizations) attacked the under-equiped Port Authority. Although the Port Authority put up a brave fight, Bolt-action rifles are no match for an assault rifle. As soon as the docks were taken, transport ships moved in to drop off cargo. Men in black battle-armor marched off the ship side by side and moved towards the center of the city.

Imperial Citadel

"This is bad, this is bad, this is bad..." repeated the Prime Minister as he walked back and forth across his room. There had been rebellion attempts before, but they had never made it to the city itself. He had over 40,000 soldiers defending the Citadel, but the rebels had at least 400,000 soldiers. While a large portion of them were poorly armed Militias(about 300,000 of 'em), the other 100,000 were trained soldiers. The Technocrats, which made up 10,000 soldiers, were the best trained of all. Armed with the most advanced weapondry in the Empire, possibly even the world, these soldiers just mowed down their Imperial Counterparts. As enemy shells began to hit the building, the shell-proof metal shield slowly went up on the citadel. The automated defence system tried to fire back, but there were just too many enemies.

2 hours later

"Open up!" yelled a rebel officer on the other side of the door of the Prime Ministers Lounge room. The 20 best soldiers in the Empire were at the side of their leader, and most of the furniture was barricading the door from letting in any rebel forces. After an hour and a half of useless banging, the rebels had brought in a battering ram to make short work of the door. As the door neared it's breaking point, the Prime Minister loaded his AK-Z. "Let's get 'em, men," he said to his soldiers. Just then, the door broke and the rebels raised their guns ready to fire. Before they could fire however, they were blown to bits by Imperial Mini-guns. They came at the Imperial Forces until the Imperials ran out of ammo. Then, instead of surrundering, the Imperials took out various close-combat weapons and charged full speed at the rebels.

None of the Imperials survived.

Flash message to Cotlandstad from Cottish embassy, Carthage
Classification Omnicorn (ultimate security)

At 0700 Lima, hundreds of thousands of rebels launched an assault on the government in Carthage. Sixteen rebels were shot dead by the Marines and Sigma operatives as they tried to access the Cottish embassy. All embassy staff save the Marines have been moved to sub-level 2. The Marines have taken up defensive positions inside the building and court-yard and are reporting zero friendly casualties. We will ride this storm out, and await rescue. Latest news broadcasts suggest that the Prime Minister have been killed by the rebels. There are also unconfirmed reports of public executions in the streets. We will hold position untill further notice.

Sigma reccomendation: BUG-OUT ASAP!!
Marine reccomendation: BUT-OUT ASAP!! If not possible: GET US SOME GODDAMNED AMMO AND AIR SUPPORT!!

Statement by the New Government of Carthage

Peoples of the world,
As you probably already know, the brutal regime which used to rule our country has now been toppled, and the peoples of Carthage are once again free. The former "rebels" have united together to form one body: The Carthaginian Technate of The Lightning Star. Unlike the old government(who left "The Lightning Star" out of their title), we believe in equality for all of our people, including East Carthage(known as The Lightning Star).

Of course, slavery has been abolished. All slaves between the ages of 5 and 55 will all be given a stripped-down version of basic education(ages 1-12), so as to that they can be re-educated to start their new lives in only 4 years. Once they are educated, they will be free to apply for any job they are interested in, or even go to the Technate Former-Slave University(if they are currently at the ages of 5-30), where the slaves can get the extended version of their basic education as well as get a bachelors degree in whatever field they wish. Everyone 56 and older will be sent to retirment homes.

We will have a new government system as well. All decisions involving the production and distribution of goods and services are determined by a technically gifted structure. The bottom-up structure of this technical administrative body ensures that those who are most qualified belong in the right position. If a person in a high position does not perform their duties well, the persons working directly below can remove them from their position. The goals of the technical administrative body are to provide and maintain efficiency of the industrial production, while continuing to improve and better thet system.

Political decisions will be made by a democratically elected leader. The democratic side of technocracy does not deal with physical or scientific decisions. Instead, leaders would deal with moral issues, the design of the technate’s flag, etc. It should also be noted that the economy will be controlled democratically. The population of the Technate would go about their business as consumers, spending their energy credits as they see fit at conveniently located distribution centers or through online catalogues. This would be the Democracy in action; all citizens decide what they want produced and what to consume. Technocracy is about as direct control as one can get without every person traveling to the local power plant to switch on their lights at home.

We are also going to go ahead with research on many things which are "frowned upon". We see, in the near future, sentient computer programs, genetically enhanced humans, and prosperity for our people.

Now you know who we are and what will shall do. Goodbye.

P.S. All Military activity has halted, except for against the remaining strongholds of Imperial Support. All foreign citizens are to be evacuated(if they wish) on a 7E7 Dreamliner flight from Carthage to whatever country they are from. (NOTE: The planes will stop in multiple places, so there will be representatives from many countries on board each plane. However, we have made careful consideration into our planning, so no "enemies" will be on the same flight.)

The Ruins of Kasserine

At the foot of the Tebessa mountains a small militay convoy rode through the desert. Although the Imperial military had been wiped out, the rebel forces were powerful enough to unite under the leadership of the Technocrats. Although it would take a while to get everyone similar uniforms and weapons, the army itself was ready should anybody attack.

At the head of this convoy was Colonel El Faour. Born in the former slave town of the same name to the south, he had joined in when the slaves revolted in the Second Slave Revolt(the first being the one where Carthage was basically wiped out by Parthia, Generic Empire, and the Borman Empire). He had actually participated in the destruction of Kasserine, which was the only major slave victory of the war. When the Sixth Imperial Army destroyed the rebel army, the colonel(then just a private) had barely escaped with his life. He then joined the Technocrats, and the rest is history.

Back to where we were before. As the convoy neared the ruins, the Colonel noticed movement up ahead. Egads, it must be imperial remnants! he thought to himself and ordered his men to be on guard. When the figure moved out into the open, the Colonel was this close to ordering his men to shoot, but to his surprise the figure was a little boy. Covered in rags and dirt, the boys eyes were wide as he peered down the barrels of the guns. "Stand down!" ordered the Colonel, and his men did so. Stopping the Humvee, the Colonel walked up to the boy and offered him a ride in the Humvee. Although the boy didn't speak, he realised that this man wasn't going to hurt him so he nodded his head in agreement. "Alright then," said the Colonel as he picked the boy up on his shoulders and brought him to the Humvee. He sat him down by a private, who seemed to be glad that there was someone other than an officer sitting by him.

As the trucks moved through the remains of the city, he saw more impoverished people on the way. They were living in shelled out buildings, making fires in cans by burning the remains of what little was left from the old city. Every so often, he would see a skeleton laying in a corner, probably a dead soldier from the attack. Many people wore clothes that had faint blood stains on them. They must have been stolen from the dead... the Colonel thought to himself. Every few blocks they would come upon a well, which was surrounded by many small huts. The water was mucky and dirty, but at least there was water. Hanging from the sides of the huts were skeletons of small animals, most likely rabbits. After all, these people had to live. When he lifted his head from looking at the people on the street, he saw shanty houses all along the foot of the Kasserine Pass. Of course people would come bacl, he thought to himself. Where else could they go?. After an hour of driving, the driver in the front seat turned around and said, "We're here." In front of them was a large, abandoned warehouse.

Ordering the boy and 20 soldiers behind to protect the door and the caravan, the Colonel and 4 soldiers walked into the building. Once they entered the main room, all they saw was a small walkway leading to an elevator. As soon as the men approached the elevator, and electronic voice said, "Soliri eli quin sacera eli paka sacara qui..." and waited for the Colonel to respond. Using a piece of paper given to him to determine what the answer was, the colonel responded, "life is nothing but a tool, to be molded to the will of the Great One." After a few seconds of blinking, the elevator(which was 50 sq feet) opened and the men stepped inside.

As soon as the door closed, a Television screen turned on. On the screen was a hooded man. His face was impossible to see, due to the fact that his head was bent over. "Welcome to the J.E.N.O.V.A project. We see that you are fresh meat sent here by the Emperor. We can tell you are fresh because you didn't reply in the Great Tongue. You will be greated in the lobby by one of our men. Oh, and don't worry. We will teach you the ways of the Great One..." The screen then turned off and the elevator began to move downwards. "Uh, sir? What was that?" asked one of the soldiers. "To tell the truth, private, I have no clue. I think it was pre-recorded, but I am not sure." The Colonel then turned and told his men, "This elevator goes down about 5 miles," the colonel motioned towards an Indian private, "thats 8 Kilometers for you, Mahra," he then turned towards the rest of the group, "so make yourselves at home. At this rate, we'll reach the bottom in an hour. Seeing how this is a large elevator, I think there may be something to rest on." He then looked around the room and then saw a button that read: Duermi. "I guess that must be it..." he said, and then he pushed the button. The right side of the elevator opened up to reveal a bed. "Remember men, one hour."
