OOC-I dont want to be bitched at because im not a month old, im not stating that i have nuclear weapons yet. All im saying is im researching, thank you.

IC: The president was leaning back in his leather chair, he had one thing on his mind that refused to go away. Nuclear weapons, it seemed as it was a must to have nuclear weapons. A small nation, still growing, how would it deter a large force if need be? Even if it is a last resort weapon, because of Crete-Monee's small-size that last resort may actually be the first thing they can do.

President Hort got on the phone, and told his secratary to get his brother-Chief of Armed Forces-. He waited 15 minutes and his secratary said on the intercom
"Mr.Hort, your brother is here"

"Thank you Jan" he replied.

Moments after, the huge doors swung open, a man in a suit walked in.

"John!" the president said, getting up to shake his brothers hand.
"Heeeey! It has been to long."
"That it has"
"You needed me?"
"Ive been thinking John, the time has come where we must research nuclear weapons, its a must in todays world"

John paced back and forth then stoped
"Ive been thinking the exact same thing...."
"Well, shall we call a meeting?"
"No, no. We want to keep the power in OUR hands, not the people, not the rest of the goverment! Remember, we make all the decisions."
"Very true...Well, get on it John, its in your hands."

John smiled, and walked out of the room to his body guards, disapearing out of the office.

The order was given, the best scientists were being put on the job. In a remote area, an underground bunker was being produced. Its purpose was for the research/testing. The perimiter was large, and keeping nosey civilians out was hard. Guards were told to shoot any civilian without the propper authorization from the base C.O.

good luck on the research, nuclear weaponry can be an effective deterrent however it can act as an attraction to do-gooder nations who feel its their right to tell you what to do.

[OOC: I think the reason some people "bitch" about people who develop nuclear weapons early on is that many times, people who do that claim to have a million n00ks and don't RP developing them, allowing for the constraints such weapons would put on their budgets, etc. From a quick glance, it looks like you may be on the right track, so you might be more readily accepted for having a nuclear weapons program.

I've seen the benchmark for nuclear weapons acceptance be a population of 100 million, not a specific RL length of existence. One of my allies began a program at 97 million and someone actually pointed out that he was under that plateau. Then again, in the very next breath, the RPer who mentioned that then said that it was no big deal because he'd be over 100 million the next day anyway.

Essentially, though, what I look for is a realistic development cycle when it comes to acceptance or ignoring of having a nuclear arsenal. Just be aware that some players ignore nuclear attacks, however.]
