The Coming Storm (Pre-Civil War)

In an abandoned building in southern Thresh.

"Our leader is weak! She is nothing like her father or brother. She has not once lead us into battle in her many years ruling this nation. Our once mighty nation has fallen into the backs of all of our former enemies thoughts!"

Rousing applause came from the gathered representatives. The speaker, General Trent "Snow" Snowlander, had always been resenting that the current leader, Ellison Chaknov, had gone the way of peace. Her brother and father had waged wars, and the nation had prospered.

"Now, I am proposing that we reclaim the glory we once held. Our fathers would be disgraced if we left the nation in the hands of this weakling. She must be removed."

A man stood up. He bore the symbol of the Death Templar. His accent was thick, but it was fairly easy to understand what he said. "The Chaknov, she will keep some of the forces on her side in this coup."

Snowlander nodded. "Indeed. We know for a fact that the 4th, 5th and 6th National Defense Order will stay on her side. We have already arranged to have the 6th's commander dealt with. We have sent a...specialist."

"We should have sent a templar. My people could have it done with instantly."

"No. The 6th has a friend that could defeat any templar sent. The specialist has dealt with this "friend" before and knows how to handle him. On that note, we shall not try anything until the 6th commander is dead. Expect a summons within the week. Keep in mind though, that this information shall never leave this room. I have all of your oaths on that."

The various men and women stood and saluted. Snowlander returned the salute and then dismissed them.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city.

Jason's eyes shone under his long hair. He was crouched over the bodies of two guards who had been patrolling outside his targets home. The blades on his left arm glistened red in the moonlight. He grinned evily. This would finally be his chance for vengeance. And he could use the money he was being payed to improve his arm. He looked up at a window on the second story and saw a light on.

"Dominic."

Seconds later he was gone.

Inside, Dominic Wrathe was watching TV. He expected Jace to be by tomorrow to discuss the terms of his reinitiation into the military in a high position. He had grown weary of his nomadic lifestyle and finally come home.

He stood and walked to the kitchen. He opened his fridge and took out a bag of red liquid. He was getting tired of this as well. He hated being a vampire, but it had it's perks. The strength, the speed, all things he had wanted.

When he had finished his meal, he returned to his chair. He was sitting down when he noticed that the window was open. He heard a whistling noise and jumped backwards. A rocket flew through the open window and slammed into the spot he been just seconds before.

The blast threw Dominic through the nearby wall and decimated the room. The television was launched through the wall, creating a large hole. A massive hole gaped in the floor.

Dominic struggled up out of the rubble of his bedroom. "Damnit. Who the hell is it?"

A voice he hadn't expected to here came from the hole to the outside. "Jason Kane."

Dominic smiled. "Jason? What brings you here? You know that you can't beat me."

"I didn't expect the vampire part last time, but I've got an ace up my sleeve this time. And here it is." His good arm went into the sleeve where his prosthetic weapon was and pulled out a syringe.

"This, my friend, is an inducer."

Dominic frowned. "Inducer? Of what?"

"I did some looking into your condition and found something that I could exploit. So I found one, and took it's abilities the hard way."

"One of what? You're not making any sense. Lets just get this over with."

Jason stuck himself in the neck with the syringe and pushed the plunger, putting all of the liquid into his veins. He threw the needle away and unstrapped the prosthetic blades from his left arm. Within seconds he began to shake violently and fell to the ground.

Dominic watched with interest until Jason's size began to change. His jacket tore down the center and the belts on his arm snapped off. He started to roar as he grew larger. The patches of skin showing began to grow thick black hair. His head could be seen elongating beneath the long hair.

Jason stopped shaking and stood up. The top of his head brushed what remained of the ceiling. Dominic looked up at him. "Damn Jason...where'd you find a werewolf?"

Jason roared and lunged forward with incredible speed. He hit Dominic with the back of his arm, sending the vampire smashing into the brick wall that made up a portion of the room. The bricks shattered and crumbled as Dominic hit with a great force. He fell to the ground and slowly got up.

He eyed the slowly approaching lycanthrope and thought of his options.

I don't have any silver. My gun and sword are in my room, which Jason is currently in the way of. Calling for help will just get innocents hurt. Hand to hand is pointless.

He looked into the beasts eyes. "Fuck. You didn't make this easy."

Dominic then launched himself at Jason. Just when he came within arms reach of him, Dominic dove through the creatures legs. He rolled and scrambled for his room. He launched through the hole in the wall and grabbed his gun from the nightstand. He spun and aimed at....nothing. The wolf wasn't in the room.

"Jason?" The wall next to him exploded as the beast rushed through. It tackled him and they both flew through the wall out into the street. They landed on top of Dominic's car, crushing in the roof and setting off the car alarm. "Son of a bitch."

Dominic kicked the creature with both legs, sending it off of him. Dominic stood on the car's remains. He should've grabbed the sword instead of the gun. He aimed his pistol at the wolf as it got to it's feet, snarling.

It leapt and he fired. The bullet struck it in the shoulder, barely making the wolf flinch. Dominic dove off of the car as the beast came down, further crushing the car under the impact. Dom turned mid-air and put several more rounds into the wolf, one bullet catching it in the snout. Blood splattered and the beast howled in rage.

Before Dom knew what had happened, he was flying down the street. Jason had been too fast for Dominic to react. He skipped off of the pavement several times before slamming into a parked car. The car's side caved in. He looked up in time to see the wolf nearly upon him. He tried to stand up but he was still dazed.

The wolf dug it's claws into his chest and hammerthrew him. He came down another block down on a bridge over a highway, barely conscious. "....fucking...wolf...." He didn't have time for anymore because it was on him once again. It picked him up his neck and began attempting to twist his head off. If Jason had had two arms to begin with, it would have been easy. But one arm was still nearly capable.

Dominic felt the strain on his neck and knew he had to do something if he wanted to survive through the night. He summoned enough strength for a final attack. He pulled the blade he kept in his belt out and shoved it through the creature's throat. It responded negatively and hurled him once again. He dissappeare over the edge of the bridge, leaving the wolf to it's own devices.

The last thing Dominic saw before blacking out was the lights of oncoming traffic.

Several hours later, at Dominic's ruined house

A car drove up. Jason knew that he wouldn't have much time before he would lose this form. He had managed to gain a bit of control over himself since his fight with Dominic and had come back to wait for his target.

"What the hell?"

Jason saw his target get out of the car and walk towards the house. The target pulled a phone out of his jacket and dialed a number. "This is General Jacen Hidachi. Send military and paramedics to the home of Lieutenant Dominic Wrathe. We may have a serious problem here."

Jacen put the phone away and cupped his hands to his mouth. "Dom!?"

Jason took this as his signal and rushed from his hiding place amongst the remains of Dom's home. His target's eyes opened wide before Jason pounced.

Once again in the abandoned building

Snowlander was sitting amongst the elite guard he had fashioned for himself. He was still awaiting the report of the hit.

A soldier came into the room. "General...there is someone here. Says he has business....he's a bit odd."

The general nodded,"Yes. I've been expecting him."

Jason shuffled into the room. He was wearing clothing he had obviously stolen from someone he had killed. Blood covered his clothing as well as his hair and what little skin showed. His voice was hoarse when he spoke. "...I killed both of them. Dominic and General Hidachi. Both dead."

"There is no evidence leading to us, correct."

Jason smiled. It made even the seasoned war veteran Snowlander flinch. "Dominic had many enemies. Including werewolves. It will be viewed as an attack by an enraged enemy of his."

"Excellent. Your money is on the table. We shall contact you if we have need of your services again."
