OOC: Yes this will go somewhere, so don't start telling me this is pointless, there is one, and I'll get to it in due time.

Chairman Murdock is currently leading the Shenyang Open at an amazing 30 strokes under par in the 2nd match this 10 game tournament. Today he put his closest rival, Tiger Woods farther behind than any analyst predicted was even possible, possibly solidifying his win if his luck holds. Should he win this tournament it will mark the first time in 25 years that a member of the high council has been awarded with the prestigious gold jacket. Loose talk seems to point to the Chairman using a specially designed golf ball, the Mk. 988 Precision, a military design that is widely known to be laser guided, the use of this ball is acceptable only if certain criteria are met. These assumptions are substanciated by the fact that multiple spectators have tripped over Ghille Suit attired soldiers hidden just off the course with laser designation equipment, though this may be purely unrelated this exidence does support the claims of many spectators who have noticed a red light dancing in the hole at each green when the chairman is driving.

(OOC: Now for the relevant part of this post)

In other news, for close to a week seismographs all over Shenyang have been registering strange readings, these readings appear to be emmenating from the Shenyangi Tundra, which makes up a rather large section of the nation, it is also owned mostly by the military, and most public access to the area is restricted. As a result all attempts to enter the area have been stopped by military personnel stating that the area is unsafe, and the area is now being patrolled by combat aircraft to prevent any flights over the area.
As a result of this secretive and theoretically dangerous practice rumors abound as to what is happening at the epicenter of these minor quakes, which only barely rate on seismographs anyway. We have also recieved reports of increased Dominion air traffic over this area, the connection of these events is still unknown.
Is there a scientific discovery at the epicenter of these quakes?
Is the government hiding something from the public?
Are these anomalies dangerous?
How is the Dominion involved?
We hope to answer these questions and more as we follow this developing story.

...In other news the mysterious tremors that have been recorded all over Shenyang are increasing in frequency, last week there was only one a day, now it appears that there are atleast 2, possibly 3. No scientists we contacted could explain this as anything other than a volcano or some form of advanced weapons system that we as yet are not aware of, these experts suggested that a shockwave weapon, or an extremely large bomb could be the cause in the latter case, however at this time we cannot confirm either report. We just recieved word that all satillite traffic over the Shenyangi Tundra has been barred by the government, they are saying that should any unauthorized space-based system pass over the area it will be fired upon. Is this proof that the government is hiding something, or is the government merely paranoid of an invasion by another nation, in either case we will continue to follow this story as it develops.

Secret IC: The Chairman was not pleased, he had been told that no civilians would be able to notice the tremors caused by the weapon at that range, he couldn't afford to have this project exposed before he was ready to do so, it was too important to Shenyang and the Dominion, he had to find a way to discredit the stories of a new weapon.

IC: We interupt this broadcast for a special report...
In approximately 1 minute Chairman Murdock will come before the nation and give an explanation for these inexplicable seismic events. We now switch to Sarah Mconelly at the press conference in the Shenyang Governmental Complex.

"Hello as you all know I am chairman Murdock. I am here to tell you the reason for these strange quakes that have been recorded. I am sad to say that Mt. Garixx is becoming unstable, the quakes are the prelude to its erruption, we do not want aircraft to enter the area as we can not estimate when the volcano will errupt. The reason for our ban on orbital overflights is simply because of the large number of military personnel in the area, we as you all know like to keep our military's total force a secret. I can tell you that the volcano is highly unstable and that we estimate that it will errupt within 10 days. We may be wrong, however that is the current estimate, we plan to keep soldiers around the perimeter to ensure that the none public is killed in the erruption when it does happen. That is all I have to say tonight, thank you for your time."

Secret IC: Now that was a perfect cover story, Mt. Garixx really was going to errupt so as long as tests continued to be scheduled during the build up to the erruption they could continue without interferance. The project would proceed until they were sure everything worked, then they would release the data on the project, along with images of it to the public, and noone would know that Mt. Garixx was only a cover story for the project. A perfect conincidential cover story, but a perfect cover story none the less.

Secret IC:
"This is Black Knight, Command, do I have test clearance confirmation?"
"Black Knight, you are go for a weapons test."
"Affirmative, master arm is on, all systems are go, prepaing to fire in 3, 2, 1."

IC: At the exact moment that Black Knight ended his count down a small tremor registered all over Shenyang, it was covered up as yet another tremor from Mt. Garixx. In this way no one knew that there was something deeper to the tremors that were occurring so regularly.

Op1: Alright, the computer sent the latest weather readings, now to send the test results to Section 38.

Op2: Two large craters and a sonic boom, not bad for a day's work. Opening a frequency to S38.

Op1: We're sending the test results now. Nice cover story, but how do we get the volcano to really erupt? We can keep satelites out of the way with ABM laser sats, but how long till the world starts asking questions? Hold on, I'm getting something from one of our MP patrols on the perimeter.

*flips a switch on the radio scrambler*

This is Dominion Central Operations, go ahead.

MP: This is recon 10, we have a group of what appear to be to be hippies attempting to infiltrate the perimeter.

Op1: What did they see?

MP: Nothing, their 'trying to heal the earth'.

Op2: We have to se this! *hits a button on a monitor and they watch as the situation unfolds...

Hippy: Come on, man! We have to heal the karma of Mother Earth! It's you and your selfish ways that are causing the Great Mountain of Fire to be angered!

MP: Please, you have one chance to turn and leave or we'll have to arrest you for criminal trespassing.

Hippy: You don't understa-

MP: Alright, if that's the way you want it..

He then pistolwhips the hippy with his 9mm Beretta as the rest of his team forcibly coralled the hippies and put them into a Humvee and shipped them off to a prefab shelter serving as a prison. They waited until another Humvee came to pick them up and they continued along the patrol route.

Secret IC:
pvt. "Sir, dominion forces just caught a group of hippies."
col. "Why am I not surprised? How many?"
pvt. "Unknown, sir, their en route to the prison facility now."
col. "Okay, we can continue with the plan as scheduled."
pvt. "Would like the PP-1 to go up for a flight test?"
col. "Sounds good, make it so private."

A hidden underground hanger:
"This is Harbinger-1, requesting take-off clearance. Tower, can you open the outer door for me?"
"This is Control, you are cleared for take-off. Please hold while we open the outer doors. Begin your take-off, now."
A pair of outer doors openned and the PP-1 began to accelerate for take-off. Harbinger-1 pushed the throttles forward and the PP-1 pushed past 200mph. He forced the PP-1 not to take-off before he reached the doors. The PP-1 hurtled through the doors 10 feet off the ground, Harbinger-1 then forced the PP-1 into a climb. He ascended to above 25,000 feet. There he levelled off and pushed the throttles to full afterburn. He flew directly toward the Shenyangi coastline, the flight plan was to get a speed test at altitude for runs between Shenyang and the Dominion. That way the aircraft could be tested in several climates. The PP-1 reached full speed. Then Harbinger-1 ascended to approximately 80,000 feet and went into a power dive, he added approximately 600mph to his speed by the time he pulled out, then he recieved the order that playtime was over, and that he had to return to base, which would require a mid-air refueling, no big deal. The return and landing went uneventfully and he landed the PP-1 back at the hidden facility without any incidents.

"Hello, harbormaster, this is the Dead in the Water. Do you copy?"
"This is Dominion Naval Command, how may we help you?"
"I just done saw me a UFO."
"Okay sir, please hold."
A loud boom is then heard and all that came over the radio was static. Later the Connery class battleship Decimator sail through the area where the Dead in the Water had resided previously and disrupted the shockwave with its wake.

R.L.: As some of you may or may not know, a fishing trawler was sunk with excessvie force off of our coast last night. It was flying under the flag of Shenyang and attempted to destroy the battleship Decimator with a suicide bomb. The Shenyangi government assures us that it was an attempt at terrorism to try and sever diplomatic relations between our two countries. It has failed miserably. Thank you, and long may the Dominion tirumph over its foes.

Secret IC:
Control: Harbinger-1, you are cleared for an attack run. You know the drill, destroy the target drones in as little time as possible. Your current record is 10 drones in 1 minute. Good luck on the range.

Harbinger-1: Affirmative, initiating my attack run in 5 seconds.

Harbinger-1 brought the PP-1 onto an intercept course to attack the target drones that were flying in the area. He accelerated to full afterburn and flew out to a range of 40 miles. He looped up and around using an Immelmin Turn and began his attack run as the 5 second count down ended. The fire control of the PP-1 Firefox locked onto 6 drones at the same time, Harbinger-1 depressed the fire button 6 times. 6 AIM-54C Burning Phoenix (Phoenix-3) missles were released. They homed on their independent targets and the targets attempted to evade the missles, to no avail.

Harbinger-1: 6 down, 12 to go.

The PP-1 deccelerated from full afterburn to 600mph. Harbinger-1 lined up a drone in the sights of the PP-1's cannon and destoryed it with a quick burst. Then the PP-1 lined up the next. The PP-1 eliminated every single drone, a total of 12 in 1 minute, mostly due to its extreme speed and phenomenal FCS. Coupled with a competant pilot the PP-1 and PP-2 Firefoxes were truely destructive fighters.

Harbinger-1: How's that for efficiency?

Control: 12 in 1, new record. Why doesn't this amaze me anymore?

Harbinger-1: Because every time I enter this cockpit I break a record?

Control: Yeah, thats probably it. Return to base before some hippy sees you.

Harbinger-1: Affirmaive, inbound.

IC: It was already to late for that, a lone hippie had made it into the range the night before and upon hearing this aircraft looked up instinctively. He didn't have a camera, and seeing as he was a hippy his testimony was dismissed, however the public began to wonder what this unidentified fighter was, and where it came from.

The hippie who saw the Firefox PP-1 built up the courage (through the use of drugs) to report the sighting to the police.
(Beginning is pointless BS)
"I tell you the government's up to something out there. And that mountain knows it. Thats why its gone blow its top, man."
"Right, could you describe what you saw, sir?"
"It was this big black shape, like a triangle, with this stick commin' out the front, and these littler sticks comin' out the sides like this."
The hippie sketches something akin to what he described.
"Alright, now could you tell me what this thing sounded like, or what its dimensions were?" the officer's voice was obviously incredulous.
"It like, made no sound. That came later, it was silent and then suddenly just this loud BOOM! It knocked me off my feet when it happened, man. I couldn't tell how big it was... maybe it was like a fighter or it could have been a jumbo jet... I just don't know man."
