Cougar stopped, and stared in spite of himself. This was terraforming... on a grand scale, on a time scale he couldn't imagine. He leaned on the wall, and watched the mage. His mind was spinning, but the most pressing question was,Who are you?. He held his place, and simply watched...

Suddenly, the water retracted, and the green plants disappeared. The mage stood and dusted himself off, turning, he noticed Cougar.

S -- Hey, you're back.

Cougar started slightly, but hid it,"Yes. I'm back. Good to see you're up and about... that was beautiful, to say the least"

Oh...this is easy...and relaxing. Not supposed to do much of anything else, Rhenna would kill me.

I'll have to try it sometime... not right now though, I'm exercising... funny, Rhenna said that to me not so long ago

He recounted everything he knew from the beginning of it all, when the visions started and he began to remember. He finished it by saying,"Then I woke up in Mithdelmar... aching, but alive"

That was a long story...You sure it all happened?

From the visions beginning... yes. Anything before that chronologically, I'm not too sure about. My memory is still reassembling itself, it's been turned on it's head by the inhibitor breaking down

Maybe you should talk to Mith. Between her and Renor, I'm sure you'll get sorted out.

I'm alright. It won't be long before I'll be sorted. Could be a while before I feel the same as before though. You know that feeling? Where you gain more wisdom with a near-death expierence?

....I can't say that I've felt it...then again...I'm only 37.

I'm 26... but I feel so much older than that sometimes.This entire incident made me realise what I stood to loose

He laughed,"Damn right I am. Haven't had much recently... could do with something. C'mon then!"

*Shan leads him to the cafeteria, where there's a light meat dish served with a side of some sort of vegetable/starch and cheese, with a salad of local vegetables on the side*

Hey, it's a good meal today.

Cougar smiled,"Right now, any meal is a good meal!" He attacked the meal with gusto, but maintained his manners enough not to show himself up

The point isn't to devour it whole...take the time to taste it, or you'll never know if you like it or not.

I know that... I was born an aristocrat, you know. Still, I haven't eaten properely in a few days. Yeah, they feed at Mithdelamr, but it's not real food

Not real food...but there's a reason for that. Still...it's not entirely inedible. And Mith eats it every day, you know.

I never said inedible, I said real. Mith might like it... but that's her. Not me.

Rn -- Personally, I prefer the food at Mithdelmar to the rations you claim to have a taste for.

*doesnt turn aroundd*It's an acquired taste, brought on by the fact that I've eaten god knows how many times

So, you just don't taste it anymore, really?

Rations arent designed for taste, they give me the energy I need to survive. That's what their there for, and they've kept me going more than once... not that I seem to need it according to the research... although I always did find the chicken korma a bit better than the others

I think you're overstating it a bit.

Maybe. Somewhat... ok, I am. But still, they have taste, I just don't notice it anymore. How did your class go?

Rhenna shakes her head and Shan starts to laugh.

S -- Water kinetics! Why don't we do that anymore, Rhenmet?

Cougar grinned,"Not good I'm guessing. Lot's of mess..."*UNder the table, his hand sought hers out, and gave it a slight squeeze, as if to sayHi there. Remember me?

Not that it's not good...just...very messy, once they start getting it. *Her thumb runs softly across his knuckles*

He smiled in spite of himself,"I can imagine... makes me feel lucky that I don't teach magick"*His grip softened a touch, enough to allow him to interlink his fingers with hers*

Suddenly, he felt something he had not felt in a long time,"What the hell? Did you feel that?" he asked Rhenna, thinking the question

Every mage 150 and up in the entire room has tensed.

S -- What? What is it?

Rn -- Something very bad has happened...And this time, you're not coming along, am I understood?

S -- Yes...

Cougar fought the urge to stand up,Death, Dark Warfare... and now that goddamn orb thing again... great, just what we need right now.

Rn -- Come with me, Cougar...I've just been informed that Renor and Vedt are expecting us.

Cougar nodded mutely, and stood up,"See you around Shan." He followed Rhenna from the hall, and fell into step beside her

She teleports them to a different location in Rendelmar. Renor and Vedt are already sitting at a table.

R -- You know what has happened?

"I have an idea," said Cougar, sitting down,"The Mirari has been reawoken..."

Not only that. Warfare plans to make the slivers turn on us.

Will that affect Mith? She's half-Sliver now, so it's a distinct possiblity

No. First off, she has a will of her own...second of all, it is to her the slivers looked for guidance when Dark Warfare killed his good side. I have no doubts that they will rally behind her, as it is not the evil side they worship.

That's a good thing. So, now we have Death going after Princess Anna, Warfare out to destroy whatever he can, and the Mirari... well, that goes without saying. The distinct question is: what can we do about it? Also, something tells me that they will not stop at Slivers... what about someone who we know? We've all got each other to vouch for ourselves..

Costh. *Renor places a book on the table. It lands with a resonant THUD* We need to find him, as well as Ishrem...Mith will be able to remove it, with Ishrem's runic knowledge.

Costh?! Does fit though. Wait a second... I had a dream whilst I was in Mithdelmar. I don't know if theres anything in it, but there was a rune, a rune he cast. I don't know why, but I got the feeling I'm the only one able to activate it. Why me though? And finding him... that could be a task

Then we need to return to the Tower, before going to Mithdelmar.

Cougar nodded,"All right. At least we have that sorted"

Renor teleports the four of them to the White Tower.

Cougar went for the rune,"Here it is. I wonder what this will do...*presses his fingers to the rune*
