The Tiger Shark-class, constructed to meet the new demands of the Imperial Navy, features an impressive array of weapons well suited to its role: ship-to-ship combat. In addition to the excellent weapons capability, the Tiger Shark is well armored for a ship of its size; it even features an Electric Reactive Armor system for enhanced protection. On top of the armor is a layer of Wave-X RAM. This, combined with generally stealthy ship construction--avoiding cylinders, implementing a slanted superstructure, etc.--, gives the ship a smaller radar cross section. Of course, running with your radar on full power while making as much noise as possible is likely to blow your cover as a fishing boat.

Armor/Construction

Detailed attention to the armor was made to try to improve the survivability of Imperial ships, with a trade off in the cost department. Below the Wave-X layer is the armor, a 2” layer of Chobam, complete with an Electric Reactive Armor system for improved defense against higher-explosive weapons. Beneath the armor, the ship is constructed of normal steel, all of it forged, not rolled, providing superior quality.
