Despite pressure on the West to not nationalize, the terrorist province of Cholnisk has illegally claimed its own independence, calling itself the "People's Republic of Western Dragunova."

Hours ago, the leader of Cholnisk, Marshall of Dragunova Nikolai Litovsky, overtook the DNS 'Ramius II', named in honor of the crew of the original 'Ramius' (NATO designation: "Oscar"). Without warning, Litovsky ordered two SS-N-19 missles launched at Shavergrad, Dragunova's capital. One missle was intercepted by an SA-6 rocket two thousand feet above the city. The other destroyed Dragunova's SS-17 base at Simonova, destroying Dragunova's nuclear capabilities. Premier Bartallica is expected to withdraw forces from the region.
