After a devastating blow struck by unknown assailants at a hospital in Marseilles, France during his unannounced leukemia therapy, Emperor Elect Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte the II, considered to be a beloved friend and trusted leader to the people of the Imperial Union, has fallen into a coma. According to our constitution, the Prime Minister has determined that the Emperor is incapacitated, and that there is a need for a new Emperor. While the wife of Emperor Charles, Sophia Bin Bashir, will remain Empress until the end of the elections, her powers will be invested into the Parliament due to pressures made by a decision of the Court of Magistrates.

As such, during preliminary voting and process in the Parliament, four candidates for this position have been nominated from three of the six legal parties in the Union. After important consideration however, the Parliament has elected Raphaele D'Locke. From a statement made by the Imperial Party during the election, here is the outlining of D'Locke's platform and tidings for France today.

D'Locke is considered the fore-runner and most qualified for the position, as well as beloved by our former Emperor Charles, who could not be reached for official comment. However, being the former Foreign Minister of the Imperial administration of Frances Voleur (as he was known before becomming Emperor), he is considered one of the greatest and most savvy bureacrats of the Empire. He effectively handled the Union's neutrality between the Soviet-Ottoman conflict and Machus-Ottoman conflict, as well as solve a civil war in Hispaniola and placate relations with the vile communists of Brazil.

Raphaele's platform would not only continue the strong, nationalistic foreign policy of the former administration and take a much wider interest in foreign affairs, but also direct more attention to the expansion of the wider Union, especially in relation with former territories of Louisiana, of Indo-China, and also of interests in western Europe. He seeks a compromise between the parties and of building consensus based on loyalty to the Union. He also seeks stronger solidarity of the Imperial Party with the fringe Labour Party and French Nationalist Party. Domestically, however, Raphaele sees little need to intervene. He thinks himself a world leader, and leaves domestic affiars to his Parliament and Prime Minister.
However, in a highly controversial move, D'Locke has endorsed Boris Clousaeu, the French Nationalist Party chairman, signifying the Imperial Party's newfound solidarity with the party that was long considered fringe, like the pro-business Labour Party. Another betraying of tradition the new administration is taking is the rejection of a ceremonial renaming by the Pope, whom is officially endorsed by the Union. It is a fact that D'Locke is known as a vehement anti-Catholic and is the first atheist Emperor (though it is rumored that the former Emperor converted to Islam after his marriage to an Ottoman Moslem.) This may mark a continuing trend against government sponsored Catholicism.

Recently, however, the Emperor has named his circle of ministers, and the results were inflammatory.

He has appointed "Labour" Party leader Morgan Everett (http://www.lifeinlegacy.com/2003/0315/LagardereJean-Luc.jpg), a Louisianan CEO, as his Domestic Minister, Libertarian Party member Stanton Dowd (http://www.geneastar.org/img/cel/auroux.jpg), a once reknowned politician and writer, his Foreign Minister, and Imperial Party member Gregorio Ducheski (http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/PEPH/MB2B2.jpg), a Sicilian businessman and former military man and former Defense Minsiter for Frances Voleur, as the Defense Minister.

But most controversial of all is the appointment of the FNP chairman Boris Clouseau (http://www.blink.org.uk/aimages/ngriffin.jpg) as Prime Minister. Most noted for his often ridiculed statement that "[former Emperor] Napoleon and his raghead wife have betrayed the Imperial Union to the Ottoman threat", he is now head of Parliament and represents the Emperor's domestic interests.

After recent developments, it appears that the Union in foreign affairs will be attempting to take an expansionist, interventionalist lead, with a powerful nationalist and authoritarian stance domestically. There are even dark whispers of fascism and of backroom deals between the political "Axis" of the Labour, Imperial, and Nationalist parties.

However, Emperor Elect D'Locke seems to be wishing to strengthen ties with the international community and bring the Union to light. He wishes to create ties with new allies, and will be conducting an international press conference on his appointment.

[OOC: I haven't use this nation in so long, so I wanted to put it center stage. I usually play as Communist Brazil, but I wanted to take a more right wing approach. Alot of this is prelude to a Cold War that may arise between the Khaif and the Union, but this thread is intended for all who are interested. Press Conference in Bretange, France

The room was crowded with journalists as they sat in the stands that were set up in this converted town hall. There was a slight edge in the air, and filing in, about fifteen minutes before it was time for the newly elected Emperor to take the stand, were the Parisian Knights Templar, rather unrelated to the order of old and bodyguards to the Imperial family.

There was a slight pause as one of the secretaries appointed by the Emperor for this occasion came to address the group. The Press Conference was to go as planned, but would be in a slightly different format than planned. It was not just going to be the Emperor to speak, but also the Prime Minister and other government officials.

Lined out was this schedule:
First, Prime Minister Clouseau was to come out and answer questions from the press.
The Emperor was to make his first appearence with a short speech.
He would then continue to answer more questions from the press.
Next would be the Foreign Minister Stanton Dowd, who would speak shortly on the Union's new doctrine of relations.
He would then answer questions.
Finally, the Prime Minister would wrap up the conference with a short underview and answer a few last questions before ending the conference.

The secretary nodded nad then began.

"It would now be my pleasure to welcome to the stage our most esteemed and beloved Prime Minister *polite applause and some murmuring*, Mr. Boris Clouseau."

The secretary smiled and nodded as the tall, pale man smalled and shook the secretary's hand and took the stand.

"Thank you, thank you. I would like first to say this is indeed a very fine day for the French people. We have a huge victory for our movement. We must make the decisions now, because we face such adversity. There are those who would seek to bring us down, and in the face of evil, we must stand by our European heritage and protect our homeland, and when powers such as the Ottoman Khaif *murmurs from crowd* infiltrate our borders and act subversively to our interests, we need to make decisions at home. I understand maybe perhaps you cannot understand why we do this. That is why you are here, and I will answer any questions you may have."

Many hands went up, and he looked for the first person to be questioned.

The first man to be chosen with a French journalist who stood up with a rigid face and adjusted his glasses over his pronounced nose, before stroking his goatee and beginning his question.

"Prime Minister, if I may, what is your initial response as head of the Parliamentary government to frigid relations with the FPCB and the Ottoman Khaif?"

He nodded and sat. The prime ministered smiled a bit and then look deeply into the crowd.

"I do understand that our stance of neutrality in the conflicts as of late, and our righteous politics are often looked down upon, but I would like you to understand that we have a title to these lands. Our increased involvement and development of the western colonies of Acadia, Quebec, Hispaniola, and Louisiana has caused awarness to the Islamic Americas, as they are named. But even further, the sick man of Europe *murmurs from crowd* is continuing to place its pressure upon us with its domination of Iberia and of Eastern Europe. The Moors have pushed out many people from their entitled land. Across the Andorras for everyone to see are the towns created by the Spanish and Portugeuse European exiles who found no other way to avoid assimilation than to flee. This is appalling, and we do not accept it. They do not belong in Europe, this is not their homeland, and that is that. Now, next question.."

He scanned the room this time for a foreign journalist.

Ottoman journalist rose up, he try his best to maintain his anger over some of the comments that the PM had said about his homeland.

"Sir, is the Napoleonic Government planning void the defensive allaince between the Ottoman Empire and Napoleonic Empire?"

Then he said another question

"Also is the Napoleonic Empire seening itself as the one who would united Europe in the near future?" asked the Reporter

Ottoman journalist rose up, he try his best to maintain his anger over some of the comments that the PM had said about his homeland.

"Sir, is the Napoleonic Government planning void the defensive allaince between the Ottoman Empire and Napoleonic Empire?"

The Prime Minister carefully weighed the words, and then came through.

"The Emperor is the maker of the final decision on this, but I can say that our relations with the Ottoman government may significantly change."

Then he said another question

"Also is the Napoleonic Empire seening itself as the one who would united Europe in the near future?" asked the Reporter

The Prime Minister smiled and laughed lightly, as did a few French journalists.

"This may be in the jurisdiction of the Emperor, but I wouldn't say it is out of the question on the Agenda. Though we would edge away from military exertion."

Sophia Bin Bashir ,ex-Empress of the Napoleonic Empire. Manger to get her supporters, to have a rally against the new leadership of the Empire.

She manger to get around thousand people to the rally. She made her to the soapbox where she will make her speech to the supporters.

"Oh, people of France. This government has turn its back on the very freedoms that the empire is founded upon. They plan to turn our nation into a Iron Fisted One Party rule, we must rise up against this government and return our nation to leadership of the old government. We must pervent them from leading our nation into the path of endless wars. They will ruin the Empire and leave us with nothing. Oh,people of France, come to your senses this government will ruin us all!"

The Supporters began to cheer and shot anti-government saying..

“ We are the unknown protectors of the Empire, we will never makes ourselves know to the public. We fight in the shadows for our empire.” Saying of the Black Hawks

Black Hawks were branch of the OI that had its own agenda for the empire. They did anything that would safeguard the empire, by doing things that may appear harmful to the Empire.

It causeing massive uproar in Islamic Americas with the lost of their local leaders, the Islamic Americas is an Ottoman dominion. After answering a few other questions, the Prime Minister nodded and then looked to the side as an aide came and spoke in his ear. He nodded and then spoke into the microphone.

"Well, my time is almost up, however, we will have to cut our press conference short. Unfortunately, because of a complication after the immediate news of an assassination of an Ottoman government official which complicates our position, because the Ottomans seem to be very easily swayed to blame it on us. Because of this, the Emperor cannot speak. We will have to reschedule the conference for another. Time. Thank you."

He walked off as the reporters rose to try and ask questions in protest, lights flashing. This was a troubling move, very troubling.

The sun in the summer was gettting heavier and heavier with each year, and as the mass of protestors tried to squeeze, one man squirmed through, towards the center stage as the former Empress continued to make her speech. He hunched over, cloutching his jacket as he pushed through, ignored. He looked up, and his eye gleamed. He pulled out his hand, and the shot fired.

ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION OF FORMER EMPRESS
Spanish nationalist extremist fired upon her at an anti-government rally in Marseilles

Earlier today, seemingly in response to the Ottoman government's blaming of the Imperial Union of involvement in the assassination of Ottoman officials, a nationalist extremist, reportedly from the Spanish exile group of Andorra and neighboring French provinces, attempted to assassinate former Empress Sophia Bin Bashir, a Muslim and Ottoman.

The Imperial government has released a statement that proclaims that it had absolutely no involvement in the crime. An internal investigation by the FED is being undertaken to find the conspirators behind this crime. The suspect has been detained for questioning in the military brig in Bretange.

Sophia Bin Bashir is being hospitalizewd in Marseilles at the hospital where former Emperor Frances Voleur, her husband, is currently located. She is not in critical condition, but a medical press release says that she will not be available for comment.

When contacted, the Imperial government was not available for comment.

The OI order three of its agent to get Sophia bin Bashir and her children out of NE at all cost.

The three agents made there way to the hospital, Sophia was staying in with children. They pose as doctors to get in unnoticed. They got the information where Sophia room was and headed to that area. When they got into the room, they saw her in the bed and very tired. Also the her three girls Katherine Aqsa Voleur,Heather Aseelah Voleur, and Alexandria Faiza Voleur all about two years old. Where right by her side and keeping her companying.

“Sophia, are you well enough to get out of here?” ask Agent Phelps

She put on her cloths, with mainly had a business suit type of dress with a gray raincoat and her cloth to cover her head and make it hard for people to tell who she was. Then she got out of the bathroom and said

“Alight I am ready.” She said and got her children ready to go.

“What about them?” said Agent K and pointing at the guard outside who was the Knights Templars.

“They are here to protect the Ex Imperial Family. “said Sophia

And they agree not have the Templars come along with on the way to get the hell out of NE. They walk out of the hospital and made their way to the car. They all got in the car and started driving to an small airport just outside of the city. But Agent K notice someone was following them as they dove..

The Templar looked inside the room, and they realized the mistake they had made. Cursing, they ran through the hospital and came into the vehicle outside the hospital. The vehicle screeched in pursuit, already they had gotten a lead. One of them sat in the back and called upon his cell-phone, waiting for the line to connect. And as soon as he heard the breathing on the other side, he whispered..

"They run.."

"As planned. The airport in Marseilles, correct?"

"Yes, Rook. It is time."

The car soon lost the pursuers, as they slowly semed to taper off. Thankfully, the night streets were empty, and they neared their destination. As they drew nearer, they sooned parked otuside. There, in the parking lot, was another, sleek, black vehicle. The windows were tinted, and nothing could be seen inside.
