Official Pacitalian Government Statement

The former US states of California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Colorado will, in response, be taken by us under mutual agreement by the states and the government of Pacitalia and placed under "Official Protectorate Status". It is hoped by this move that our two nations can not only be politically and diplomatically allied and connected, but also physically, and that this will make travel between our nations easier and safer.

The Federal Republic of Canada supports Pacitalia's claims on these territories and we are thankful for their support for our new members of the Republic. The Federal Republic of Canada is interested in having opened but monitored borders eventually between our two nations.

The Bandanaris Doctrine

What we have accomplished
The former American states of California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Colorado have been annexed by the Republic of Pacitalia and have been put under what is known as "Official Protectorate Status". This means that we hold governmental control over these lands and now hold authoritas pro jurisdictum over the states in question. This declaration was mutually agreed upon by the states in question and the Government of the Republic of Pacitalia, and is effective immediately.

What is affected
The Republic of Pacitalia now shares a common border with one of our strongest allies, the Federal Republic of Canada, a status both they and we have been aiming to accomplish for quite some time. This quest was echoed today by the Canadian government's declaration of republical acceptance of the northwestern American states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and the two Dakotas. The lands taken by our two nations have been sans administration since the break up of the United States of America shortly after the election of President George W. Bush in November 2000. Our two nations have been working hard for years to ensure that not only do these states have the privileged experience of living under the rule of two similar, fiercely-democratic, progressive and open-minded nations, but that the people do not suffer economically and educationally as a result of the lack of national administration. Since the breakup, these states have been running on their own with little or no economic fund backup.

Eventually
The contingency plan for the administration of these southwestern ex-American states is as follows:

Economic restructurisation to "true capitalism"
A move to more libertarian social policy
The reintroduction of national economic assistance
Within 180 days, the separation of the states of the American Economic Protectorate Network (as this version of the O.P.S. is called) into the future versions of their independent states
Within 1 year less 5 days, a de-annexation of the states in question into separate, fully independent nations with a non-binding alliance with us

I give my word that MIRFA will work extremely hard to ensure this process goes ahead smoothly.

The Federal Republic of Canada will not adopt a policy similair to the The Bandanaris Doctrine. The American States will go through a process to come toward accepting the Canadian lifestyle. Congress and the Senate will be adding more seats for the newly acquired territories to hold their elections for representation in their new government.

The Canadian Government did not in anyway use any act of aggression to bring these former states of America to join the Republic. On the creation of the FRC they were sent an invitation to join us, they agreed now to join after years of legislation.
