New protectorate for the Borg. (closed)

BLACKGRUE

For the past few days, a planet at grid -26/-90/-16 was emitting subspace signals. Interdictor: 00000004 was sent to investigate.

The interdictor slipped into orbit silently, noticed only by the reasonably defenceless local ships sharing said orbit. The universal translation wave was sent on all frequencies and on all non-intrusive communivation signals. "We are the borg collective of blackgrue. We wish to improve quality of life for all species. Please direct us to landing coordinates for a meeting with the planitary leaders."

TRANSMISSION RECIEVED: "We are the Council of Ral Ixshida of the Theocracy of Larit Sen, the following Coordinates are being sent to your vessel."

The landing grind platform activated outside the temple outskirts. A small contingent of guards approched the platform followed by the keeper quietly, wating for the ship to land.

The ship silently lowered it'self into the atmosphere. Being able to bring cubes through similar situations, re-entry was not an issue for them.

The onlookers saw the 1 and a half kilometer ship slide through their atmosphere effortlessly, it was obvious when it was about 60,000 ft. above the pad that the pad was not going to accomidate it. The ship hovered in place using it's gravity drive to good use.

Suddenly a borg queen and 4 security drones appeared in a flash of green.

The queen spoke. "I speak for the collective. We mean you no harm."

The keeper walked foward quietly, his guards remained in their standing posistions quietly, looking onward for a few moments.

"I am Keeper, Alderon Videx, I speak for the Council of Ral Ixshida, and the people of Larit Sen"

He walked foward quietly and nodded for a moment.

Seeing that there was no threat the borg queen ordered her "entorage" back to the ship, they dissapeared as quickly as they appeared.

The queen smiled "I'm just curious counsilor. How soon did you detect us?"
Larit Sen
16-03-2005, 03:13
"We detected you as soon as you entered our solar system. Our sensor technology is on the move, most of our technology is on the upgrade, we are just taking our time."

Alderon turned around and snapped his fingers, his guards turned and took up stationary posistions quietly.

"Would you care to know anything else?"
BLACKGRUE
16-03-2005, 03:16
"What did you think of our transporter technology. It's the most advanced we've encountered... It's also very difficault to block."
Larit Sen
16-03-2005, 03:19
"Impressive, our transporter technology is still being finished, its close however, we are in the testing phase, we are having good results."

Alderon shrugged and looked at her quietly. "If you come with peaceful negotations, we have no intention of blocking diplomacy, your the first race we've encountered in... close to hundred years since we settled this planet."
BLACKGRUE
16-03-2005, 03:41
"Agreed. It's funney... We're actually from an alternate dimention... in that dimention we're the top of the food chain, so-to-speak, and here we're picking alliances with pre-transporter races..."
Larit Sen
16-03-2005, 03:44
"Why us? Why pick us?" Alderon asked in response quietly.
BLACKGRUE
16-03-2005, 04:50
"Simple, You're nation is in our space. But, if we were to assimilate you... much more powerful forces would decend on us like a plauge of locusts."
Larit Sen
16-03-2005, 04:53
Alderon nodded quietly, thinking for a moment. "Really..." He nodded again quietly. "So, what is your full wish to discuss of diplomatic situations?"
BLACKGRUE
17-03-2005, 23:40
"We are in desperate need of drones annd would wish to aqirue them peacefully. You are reasonably defenceless. So vis-a-vis we would give you technologies and protection in exchange for drones untill you can stand up on your own as it were."

Alderon nodded and turned back quietly walking back to the guards and up to the front door of the temple where several sage's had exited. He conversed with them for a few moments and nodded, shaking his head and nodding again with some others. He turned back around and walked back to the queen queitly and looke at her for a moment.

"We can give the death row inmates... and... any other crimminal's you'd like..." He paused for a moment quietly. "What technology do you have to offer us?"
BLACKGRUE
19-03-2005, 16:49
The queen smiled.
"Transporters are only the beginning, we can give you transwarp, tractor beams, food replicators, nanites, holo-emitters, ablative armor, artifical gravity... just to name a few. If you want I'll use a holo-emitter to show specs."
Larit Sen
19-03-2005, 16:53
"Yes... perhaps come into the temple, so I may show you our specs of what we already have, may it be we can discuss this more?" He asked quietly.

She said "Please." As she was lead throughout the beautiful town.

The queen noted several inefficiencies that could be allieviated with thier technologies, but even she had to admire the city's beauty.

As they entered the massive white temple, Alderon led the queen up a set of stairs to the left to a large council room. He activated a large computer screen and showed it to her for a moment. "Here, see for yourself." He said stepping back quietly.

"hmm. a primitive keyboard interface combined with a cathode ray tube display device... Let's speed this up shall we?" before the keeper could object the queen injected the computer with her 2 assimilator tubules sending input while the moniter begain to flash images as the sum-total of public knowledge was put directly into the queen's mind. She pulled out. "Interesting..." a flash of green and a pyrimidial device appeard in the queen's hands. "This is a holo-emitter, it will display anything of our technology that you wish. Our first gift to you."

Alderon took the pyramidal shape from her hands and looked at it quietly, nodding. "Thank you..." he said quietly with a light smile. He looked over to a nearby sage for a moment and turned back, and then pushed the button on the decive, activating it and observing all the structures and vessels. "Could you please tell me what each of these are?" He asked politly.

(OOC: PH33R my image whoriness! BTW, they ain't to scale)

"Of course... these are our standard spacecraft. Let's start small shall we?"

http://www.ditl.org/sizecomp/borgprobe.jpg
These are our manned scouters,

http://www.ka.net/lwherthey/BorgShips/Assimilator/Assimilator_02.jpg
These are our assimilator class destroyers, recently upgraded. they are based around our auto-assimilation beam which effectively turns enemy crew members into drones

http://www.ditl.org/sizecomp/sphere.jpg
This is a sphere class light cruiser. They are the smallest of our multi-purpose vessels and can be adapted to a number of duties ranging from tactical interception to scientific research to an escape pod for a larger ship.

http://www.ditl.org/sizecomp/borgyacht.jpg
This is a diamond, it was once our combat support vessel but has been replaced by our interdictor class. They're still in service but as science, ambassidorial, and command vessels now. They're also the smallest example of our singularity power generators.

http://www.voyager.cz/rasy/images/borg/detector.jpg
Here's our interdictor. it's a combat support, and first-contact vessel designed to fire a number of our unusual weapons.

http://www.startrekaustralia.com/startrek/borg/borgdominator/prev.gif
This is one of our newest ships, the Dominator. I'm going to have to list it as classified for the moment.

http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/8/files2/30209_7.jpg
This is the pyrimid... it's a scaled-up version of the auto-assimilation cannon capible of assimilating a planet in a matter of hours.

http://www.ditl.org/sizecomp/cube.jpg
This is our mainstay battleship. The cube. It's 4 kilometers a side and loaded to the brim with drones. 8 of them can be linked together to increase firepower.

http://www.ditl.org/sizecomp/TacCube.jpg
Here's amoung the largest of our vessels at 4.7 kilometers on a side.. The tactical cube. it's extrodinarily powerful as a dreadnaught and will be able to hold it's own against the odds. Our flagship is a "fusion tactical cube" consisting of 8 of these linked together.

"but our pride lies in the demons tooth line of ships. Observre how they can combine to form ships of VERY different capibilities." The queen manipulated the controls and the following images were displayed

Alerderon nodded quietly and took a seat at one of the chair quietly, he was in awe somewhat, unable to really speak. He nodded quietly. "Its... all just a little overwhelming, forgive me..." he sighed and stood up again with a light smile and then sighed again. "I'm afraid I don't think we have much to offer you entirely... we seem... insignifigant compared to you right now." He said very quietly, showing weakness was something he did not care for but he figured honesty was the best policy.
BLACKGRUE
19-03-2005, 18:27
The queen frowned "If this was the old collective, we would assimilate you on the spot because you ARE inignificant compared to us... but now, in this universe, there are powers that would kill us all if we went around assimilating random species... so we take protectorates to offer some degree of protection against the hypocrites who "enforce" this policy. Our allies will help us defend you against agressors and you needn't worry about us... I could put you in touch with our other protectorate if you'd like for a testimonial but I don't think that's nessicary... you have a population that we need and we have things you need as well. We should ally."
Larit Sen
19-03-2005, 18:32
Alderon nodded quietly. "Yes... we should." He said quietly. "You offer some advancements in technology we have yet to create ourselves... and we have a handful of devices you might like as well." He said quietly again. "Either way, my personal opnion says that we can trust you" He smiled and stood up quietly for a moment looking at her. "So... you never did answer the question about the criminals."
BLACKGRUE
19-03-2005, 18:36
"Let me put it this way... after your criminals are assimilated they won't THINK about commiting a crime again. Criminals will do fine although we may instigate a modest quota of them to be sent monthly... But of course you have crime problems and are looking for a way out of it." The Keeper was going to ask how she knew but then remembered the direct computer access ability that she used.
Larit Sen
19-03-2005, 18:38
Alderon looked at her quietly and nodded. "I don't know about a monthly quota... but... I will have to converse with the other sages for a moment, excuse me." He said quietly walking out of the room for a moment. He returned a few moments later and nodded. "We can give you all the criminals we have... that are in prison at least... death row inmates and a handful of other fools that have broken the laws. Death row inmates number in the thousands... so by all means take them off our hands please."
BLACKGRUE
19-03-2005, 18:40
The Queen leaned back and smiled. "That will be sufficient. I just reconsidered the monthly quota... 1000 of the new drones could be added to your law-enforcement forces... any violent or otherwise serious criminals they catch would be assimilated and about half of those would be sent back to the collective, the rest would bulster your law-enforcement further. Completely win-win don't you agree?"
Larit Sen
19-03-2005, 19:04
The Keeper looked her quietly and turned to a neraby sage quietly who had entered with him. They stared at each other quietly and spoke with telepathy to one another quietly. He turned back to face the queen quietly and looked at her.

"For the moment I would perfer that our Home Guard maintain police force, we will allow the inmates to be transported away though, and your drones can maintain our prison facilities if you wish, at least some of the more severe ones."
BLACKGRUE
19-03-2005, 19:06
"Beliieve me, if you allow us these prisoners you won't need those facilities... but it is as you wish, we will respect your soveregnty."
Larit Sen
19-03-2005, 19:12
He nodded quietly for a moment. "I know we won't need the prisons if we give you all the criminals... we did have plans to turn some into re-education centers for some of the less severe crimminals... you can take the death row inmates and some of the heavy prison inmates right now if you wish."
BLACKGRUE
19-03-2005, 19:18
The borg queen chuckled "Individuality is such a double-edged sword isn't it? With it, crativity and adaptibility flurish... but then again, discord spreads like wildfire. Go ahead and build your re-education camps.... I assure you that many prisoners will use it like a revolving door to do their crimes. But as I said, your soveregnty is your own gift, you may use it as you see fit."
Larit Sen
19-03-2005, 19:55
"No need to be insulting..." he replied quietly. "We can discuss this later yes? Do we have a way of contacting you again?"
BLACKGRUE
20-03-2005, 06:25
"My ship will stay in orbit for the next few days, it's more then capible of picking up your subspace radio signals."
Larit Sen
23-03-2005, 04:09
The Keeper nodded quietly for a moment. "Might I show you to your quarters? I assume you will be our ambassador for the collective yes?"
BLACKGRUE
23-03-2005, 04:17
"I appreciate the gesture... Be forwarned there will be a bit of a power drain from it... I'll mostly be using it to recharge."
Larit Sen
23-03-2005, 04:20
The Keeper nodded quietly. "This way then please" He said exiting the room and heading down the corridor. The room he'd selected was the only abassadorial sweet that was even in the temple. It had a large set of windows with forcefield's to protect them but prevent the view from being hindered. A large bed was present as well as other material items of a dresser and other things. The view was spectacular you could see the entire city and the countryside all around it. "Will this do?" He asked quietly.
BLACKGRUE
23-03-2005, 04:53
The queen noted the primitive and largely unnessisary forcefields and makes a mental note to have them converted into power-conduits. "This will do nicely. The view is fantastic, with or without emotional ties."
Larit Sen
23-03-2005, 04:58
The Keeper nodded. "Do you require anything?" He asked quietly, noticing the view. "I would ask that you keep the windows, we can shift the rest of the room to power conduits and others things, but I'd like you to at least have a view."
BLACKGRUE
25-03-2005, 11:45
"I can construct what I need..." two engeneering drones appeared and begain installing large pieces of equipment "We'll try to keep the power-drain minimal and the equipment easily removable..."
Larit Sen
26-03-2005, 02:21
The Keeper nodded with a light smile. "Very well, as you wish, I hope you enjoy your stay here on Larit Sen." He smiled again and quietly turned to exit the room, leaving only two guards standing outside for protection.
