With the tragic loss of our glorious country's leader, Chairperson Christina Jeong-ja, the people of Mora Tau have been overwhelmed with feelings of great pain and anguish. For the past two weeks, the streets of the capital have been filled with hundreds of thousands of grieving people and as the official week mourning nears its end, the CPMT's national election has drawn to a close, with the new Chairperson having been officially elected just hours ago. We cross over live to the Palace of Socialist Labour, where Comrade Matsuo Chiaki is about to announce the new leader of the Mora Tauan Soviet Socialist Republic.
Comrade Matsuo-
"Over the past three years, our republic has been through turbulent times, at times being the bulwark of the anti-fascist struggle and at other times being ground into the dirt by aggressive invasions from the west. We have endured war, famine, misery and suffering, but never before has our nation been plunged into such chaos like it has been by the death of the mother of our nation, the unifier and ideological leader of our land, Comrade Christina Jeong-ja. Comrade Jeong-ja brought our nation out from under the heel of our monarchist and fascist oppressors, leading a vast worker's army in an urban guerilla war lasting four years. From there, she reunified the land, ousting fascist invaders and capitalist warlords alike. Her struggle against oppression of all kinds has served as an inspiration to anti-imperialists all over the world and she is mourned the world over. For the last two weeks we have been bombarded with letters of condolence from every corner of the globe; even the fascists and capitalists mourn her loss. Such was the charisma and undeniable presence of our glorious leader.
We have, however, come to the conclusion that we must move on. Mora Tau's population is now over two billion people and to allow ourselves to sink into insecurity and helplessness would be a folly. Although the world mourns the loss of our leader, there are those countries that seek to exploit any weakness that we may show. This is why we called the elections only days after Comrade Jeong-ja's departure. The efficient organisation of our country's representative bodies have ensured that every citizen's voice has been heard, and with over 97% of the population's votes counted, we can confidently announce the new chairperson of the Communist Party of the Mora Tauan Soviet Socialist Republic. With over a billion votes, Comrade Jin-Ho Yu-hwan has been elected to the position, with Comrade Hyun Moon-gil being elected to the secondary position of Secretary Chairperson of the CPMT. Will Comrade Jin-Ho please take the chair."
(Tumultuous applause)
Comrade Jin-Ho
"Thank you, Comrade Matsuo! It is indeed a very sad hour for Mora Tau. The 2004 breakdown of our central ruling authority and the subsequent descent into complete chaos that followed has left a terrible legacy. Those who believed that our republic could continue in its path of self-sustainability, political sovereignty and complete centralisation have been proved to be completely wrong. Our nationalistic hopes have been crushed with the destruction of our former Marxist-Leninist-Maoist approach to dealing with the problems that Mora Tau has been faced with in the past.
Comrade Jeong-ja had a misguided approach to foreign affairs, she had complete confidence in the ability of the Tauan nation to cut itself off from the rest of the world. I feel that we must reverse this policy and re-establish ties with the communist world. The MTSSR is in deep danger today. The entire Korean peninsula, with its 300 countries, has been met with renewed threats of western aggression. If our revolution is to survive, we must work much more closely with the Soviets.
This, however, is to be the only change in our country's policies. We maintain our firm anti-authoritarian stance, we condemn the horrors of fascism, capitalism, Stalinism and all other forms of brutality and oppression. We shall continue in our efforts to bring freedom to the oppressed peoples of the world, to destabilise and destroy the fascist, Stalinist and capitalist worlds. We will do our outmost to preserve the environment and wildlife of Mora Tau; we have entered, thanks to Comrade Jeong-ja, an era of completely renewable energy sources. Public transport has now completely replaced automobiles. Animals have gained complete liberation, it is now widely accepted all over Mora Tau that the brutal murder and consumption of animals is vile and repulsive.
It is my absolute promise to the people of Mora Tau that their freedoms are inviolable. With the arming of the population, the hand-over of control of the means of production to the workers, the scientific destruction of religion, the abolition of money and the socialisation of schooling, child-care and work itself, the people of Mora Tau are firmly in control of their own destinies. Workers of all countries, unite!"
