West Cedarbrook

Official Statement,
Department of External Affairs,
Kramden of West Cedarbrook
The Kramden of West Cedarbrook announces the occupation today of Bermuda. This is preemptive to any hostilities between Communist Brazil and it's neighbors in Earth III. This action is justified in defense of North America, and of West Cedarbrook's Atlantic Shipping.
We regret the unfortunate death of two Bermudan policemen during the takeover of air facilities near St. George. At this time all parts of Bermuda are under our control and civil administration continues under the guidance of the West Cedarbrook Navy, with the local fleet now headquarterd in Hamilton, Bermuda.

The Kramden of West Cedarbrook declares neutrality in the South American conflict. All West Cedarbrook flag shipping will be escorted by Naval and/or Naval Air Forces in the Atlantic. In the case of shipping to South America, vessels will be escorted to within three miles of port. Naval and/or Naval Air escort will be made available to requesting ships of the Pact of North American States when requested in vicinity of the war zone.
Per the recent occupation of Bermuda all shipping and overflight within a 40 mile radius of Bermuda is prohibited.
It is recommended that all shipping to and from Gabon from belligerent states use West Cedarbrook or neutral flag vessels.

From Fox News Eretz:
"Tonight, on Press the Face of the Nation, External Affairs Secretary Klein discusses our policy in the South American War, followed by a roundtable discussion between ex-Tennessee Governor Faun Rosenberg arguing for aid to Communist Brazil, Under Secretary for Latin American Affairs Mark Silverbaum, and Conservative Policy Forum member Steve Robitsky speaking for an embargo of the embattled Marxist South American nation.
That's tonight at 8, on Press the Face of the Nation!"

To: Presidente Juan Osvaldo Hernadez, Communist Brazil
West Cedarbrook appreciates your agreement with our requests. We will maintain our neutrality. Our intellegence indicates that the invasion will probably bog down due to bad logistics and long supply lines. It is up to your enemy to prevent a long, sweaty, hot version of Stalingrad by coming to the table to negotiate with you.
Domestically, there is sniping against neutrality from both the left and right, but over 80% of the Kramden's citizens approve of it, according to recent polls. It has also boosted the Gabon local economy, substituting for imports of tropical products.

President,
