OOC: Star Wars Mandalorian Wars Sign Up
The RP has begun. Sorry. Maybe you can join during the Jedi Civil War or another or something.
It's right here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=405228). <<< (Had to get attention somehow.)
Anybody here want to RP a reenactment of the Mandalorian Wars? If you don't know what I'm talking about, then the war between the Republic and the Mandalorians after the war of the Sith between Exar Kun and the Jedi.
I'm a hardcore Star Wars fan, but information on the Mandalorian Wars is quite hard for me to find, and I don't know too much about it, so if there are any problems or anything that needs to be added on, then tell me.
Current Factions right now:

I think having an exclusive Mandalorian Wars might be hard to do on NS. Not because it's different from other RP threads, but because people feel they only want to RP with their unique nation.
What I suggest you do is have the Mandelorian wars, but allow a few nations to RP as themselve. The can't be too dominating a force (IE: They can't have a super-large army and navy with advanced technology that blows holes in the Mandelorian and Republic ships), but they can't be too weak (IE: A Republic Scout isn't going to single-handidly destroy the entire nation).
If you WERE to allow this, I would be happy to participate as the Space Pirates.
Otherwise, it's a good idea.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mandalore! I'm in...I'd like a Mandalore force, if you don't mind...(Yes, I do know what I'm talking about...I'm just one of the biggest Boba Fett fans out there...I DEF need to talk to a friend and see if this is good enough reason to get her to join NS!)
btw, TAG (or variations, ie tag, Tag, tAg, taG, TaG, etc) means "I don't really want to do this myself, but it looks cool, so I'll post something on here so I can look in my profile and find it again later so I'll be able to read it and all the fun that comes out of it."
Ummm...as far as clan name goes...Maril works...
Sure, and Space Pirates, that's a good idea, but since Star Wars is with galaxy wide wars, why don't we switch it with planets? For example, you could be The planet of Space Pirate Fleet. I don't know. Tell me what you think. Right now I have you on it. So, you can incorporate your own special tech, but it has to be like Star Wars technology. It can be your own army, and you can determine your own side, but the Mandalorians and the Republic are the 'Main' Characters.
For example, a kind of unique weaponry is the Onderon Repeating Rifle, used by the resistance in the Battle of Iziz. Or the Mandalorian Power Shields created on Dxun, or at least I think it was Dxun.
Anyways, Kaymiril, you're Mandalore.
Kaymiril
15-03-2005, 03:46
Sweet.
Yeah...Anyhoo, I need a few a more people. People who will obviously take control of Revan and Malak's forces, and possibly an armada or two. As for the Mandalorians, Maybe 2 more clans at least should do it.

now.... does this go almost exactly as the original?
i.e. The Jedi originally would help the Republic... but in this one can they choose which side they go on?
Kaymiril
15-03-2005, 04:06
I sent invites to a coupla friends...I know what one'll choose (if she decides to join) and I told the other to choose whichever.
The Jedi can switch sides, and the planet people can too, but switching sides will result in Sith corruption since it would be nice to keep it within star wars boundaries. Revan and Malak are on the republic's side. However, Jedi could go to other planets and help them bolster defenses, just like Revan. His greatest ability it to think outside the box. For example, he left entire worlds defenceless to make sure other, more crucial worlds were too reinforced to assault. Now that is skill. In my idiotic rmabling somewhere, is the answer to your question.
I sent invites to a coupla friends...I know what one'll choose (if she decides to join) and I told the other to choose whichever.
That's good. The more the merrier! Or, at least more exciting.
I would like to commandeer a Mandalorian Clan. Title: Clan Domovoi. Unoriginal, but it has a certain ring to it. My best friend is like the authority on this, so I'll be ok. If i have any questions, I've got a good source.

count me in as a mandolorian. im a huuuge star wars fan, and mandolarians ownz0r, so im definitly in.
ill be a clan from concord dawn. journeyman protectors basically were mandalores with different names. they used the armor and everything. its where boba fett came from.
Khiraebanaa
15-03-2005, 04:22
oh, and jenrak, i know WAY TO MUCH about the mandolorian wars and mandolorians in general lol. if you want info, ask me.
Okay, I've got you 2 guys in. Surprisingly no one has picked Revan...
Khiraebanaa
15-03-2005, 04:25
lol, i wouldnt want to be revan
probobly...i dunno lol. since im a mandolorian, i cant chose to many different people as few individuals stand out in ANY recorded history of the mandolores. the most obvious being boba fett and jango fett. Jaster mereel is also an important figure, but was killed by boba fett lol.
Khiraebanaa
15-03-2005, 04:31
and, just becase i can, im gonna post something to clarify boba fetts history.
The boba fett we see in episode II is NOT, i repeat, is NOT the boba fett we see in V and VI. THAT is jaster mereel. The jaster mereel i posted about above, is a man that stole that identity but his true name, is unknown. anyway. the boba fett from episode II dies, you never hear about it unless you dig a lot. A man from Concord Dawn, a journeyman protector, killed a nother protector, and was sentenced to death. THIS is the boba fett from episodes V and VI. Not really wanting to die, he stole a suit of mandolorian armor, and escaped, not to be seen for abot 10 years. he suddenly resurfaced as a bounty hunter and with the name of boba fett, and has worked his way up the ladder to being the top bounty hunter in the galaxy, and probobly out of it too lol.
if you want to know more about him, send me a TG and i will respond about the matter.
i just love showing off lol
Meh, what can you do? Except for threaten George Lucas. But that'll take some time...
I like Revan becasue of the military tactics. But there is no definite record on whether Revan was a male or female, since Revan was from a game. If I pick a certain gender, I'll look sexist. Oh yeah, Khiraebanaa , I have a question...
Do you believe the fact that Malachor V was possibly the greatest and last major battle the Mandalorians ever fought?
Also, do you think Jango Fett is the last Mandalorian?
Yeah..he's the one i talked about.
I'm sure K will, but send me a message or something. How will we go about this RP, cause i really want to do Starship tactics rather than smaller battle ones.
Well, unless I am very mistaken, during the actual mandalorian wars the mandalorians raided the borders of the outer rim. the republic was reeling back from the war with exar kun forty years ago (damn, it takes them a long time to recover) and they ignore it, since it had little damage to republic infrastructure. BIG MISTAKE. the mandalorians stockpiled their resources, and attacked 3 adjacent sectors of republic SIMULTANEOUSLY. the result: two fallen crucial sectors causing the jedi to intervene at the battle of dagory minor, i believe. correct me if i'm wrong, i'm really tired.
and starship tactics? oh, you will. the mandalorian wars kicked so much ass because they were so cool. alot cooler than the rebel alliances' methods of small counterstrikes and sabotage/espionage. the mandalorians used basilisks and giant cannons.
PS. I don't know how to Private Message.
PPS. WE NEED SOMEONE WHO WILL PLAY REVAN
Khiraebanaa
15-03-2005, 04:43
ok, jango fett was not the last. i am SURE that there are some mandalores left that went into hiding not wanting to be killed. the likelyhood of there being NONE is preposterous.
and malachor V, i dunno. they had so dammed many battles lol. i doubt you can pick an absolute biggest one. by mandolorians lost or famous ones...*sigh* im ashamed, i cannot remember the name...it was in a comic..god dammit lol. il post it later. it was not the final battle against the jedi. most definitly not. unless we are going by different time lines.
the problem with star wars, is that there are different people writing all of these things lol. the comics, books, barely any of them take note of eachother. oh well....for example, im writing a bio of Boba Fett as he is a total badass lol.
oh, jenrak, you ever read the x-wing series? just wonderin cause its awsome lol.
and i WILL threatin george lucas! lol
Khiraebanaa
15-03-2005, 04:46
damn straight the mandolorians kicked ass!
god i loved the way they landed if it was there first battle lol. jumping from space, and goin all the way down lol. total badasses. yeah, we should definitly try to have larger space battles id say. they are WAY more fun lol. and jenrak, please do correct me as well lol. its 11 o'clock at night, and im sick w/ bronchitas lol. help out a fellow mandolorian follower lol
I've read one, i think...it was on sale at kw surplus
and good luck on your threats.
Khiraebanaa
15-03-2005, 04:49
lol
what do you want to include in this RP? like, actually events, people, ships?
id say we just play it out from the beggining and see how the mandolorian wars SHOULD have ended lol. damn jedi lol
i think it was revan and malak who were the ones responsible...then again, a general needs an army
but dxun and malachor are definitely in...those places were so amazing

Sounds goodn', but here's what I suggest:
Have several planets be hot-spots, but still elude to a galactic war. IE: It might be planet Peakockian Prime is going to be the single-largest battle on the ground, while the navy wars in spcae. This means each nation RPs several different battles (Maybe even in different threads, for organizational sake).
Oh, and here's my tech:
Space Pirate hand-to-hand weapons consist mostly of Galvanic Accelerator Cannons (GACs). They attach to the normal foot-soldiers' right arm, and are fired by raising a single finger into an alcove containing a trigger. They fire small, reddish bolts of energy capable of dealing minimal damage, but they fire very fast and have extremely low recoil. I guess, it's similar to a Medium Blaster in damage but extremely fast-firing. A normal Space Pirate also has an arm-mounted Assault Blade. These things are not super-strong, similar to a vibrosword, but very light-weight and flexable. Some Space Pirates, forgoing both the Assault Blade and GAC, use an experimental Grenade-Laucher. These are used as heavy-ordinance support, and rarely fight without several standard Space Pirate troopers as escort. Space Pirate combat armor, comparable to Sith armor in defensive properties, has micro-fillament "arms" which allow Space Pirates to hold onto walls (and, in some cases, crawl along them). Space Pirates are geneticly altered to encorporate their weapons; and thus are extremely proficient with them. Usually, Space Pirates enter the battlefield using their Beacon-Guided Transport Beams. These beams, which have a limited range of 500 meters, allow a Space Pirate to transport in a "beam" of orange and yellow light. However there is a slight delay after a transported Space Pirate arives, allowing attackers to take advantage of their vunerable state.
Space Pirate Commandos, the elite of the elite, have a much-larger armory. They ususally are equipped with newer, more powerful Quantum Assault Cannons (QAC). These bad-boys are as fast-firing as a GAC, but use a Phazon-enhanced power core to fire extremely powerful, penetrating shots. Immagine Han Solo's Heavy Blaster, only fast-firing. Pirate Commandos also possess a wrist-scythe, however they usually allow low-level electrical currents to run through the blade. This makes it more comparable to a lightsaber's damage, although hardly as powerful (or as cool looking). The rest of the Commando's weaponry is variant: The most common weapon is advanced EMP grendade launchers, which wreak absolute-havok on droids and computerized equipment. A precious few Elite, known only as the Shadow Commandos, utilize a Shadow personal cloaking device, allowing them to "disapear" from view. However, the Shadow device must be disactivated in order to fire.
There are also specialized-mission Space Pirates. The most common are the Pirate Aerotroopers. These jet-pack mounted Space Pirates fire a high-power, but slower-firing, version of the GAC. They also possess a shoulder-mounted missile-scattering launcher (just think missiles). The end result is a highly-mobile, ruthlessly powerful assault soldier. Even the Aerotroopers themselves are fiercly proud and determined warriors; and Aerotrooper groups are conciderered the most "honorable" among the Space Pirate forces. However, they have some crucial weaknesses. Their "Red Dawn" Jet-Pack generates rediculous ammounts of heat, making stealth-attacks almost impossible to anyone equipped with a basic thermal or IR detector. Secondly, the Jet-Pack overheats easily. The best way for a soldier to take down an Aerotrooper is to fire at the jet-pack. Be warned, though! An aerotrooper is selfless, and will suicide-bomb his attackers if his jet-pack overheats (though, they don't have a lot of stearing control).
Another specialized Space Pirate is the appropriately dubbed "Aqua Pirate." These Pirates use a "Flipper" Thruster-Pack. This gives them limited aerial movement (they can only travel half as far as Aerotroopers), but excelent movement in water. They are used to assault water-based bases, to plant under-water ordanance, and even attack certain sea-based (or hovering) ships from below. Their Thruster-Packs, however, suffer from the same effects as Aerotroopers Jet-Packs do.
Yet another specialized Space Pirate is the Shadow Trooper. Using the Shadow Cloak technology mentioned before, a Shadow Trooper usually awaits atop walls, celings, or anything else that is inconspicuous and isolated. They posses an energy blade similar to Commandos, yet they do not have any other weapons. Although Shadow Cloak technology shields Space Pirates from visual detection, it has large amounts of internal-heat. Besides being uncomfortable to wear, this allows any IR scanner to easily compromise a Shadow Troopers' position. They rely on stealth, cunning, and overwhelming assaults to achieve victory. Watch out! They make good spys and sabatoguers.
The final trooper is still going to be "under production" by the time of the Mandelorian Wars. They are the Alpha Pirates: Phazon-enhanced monsters. Controlled exposure Phazon has mutated normal Space Pirates into lumbering hulks of Death. Standing at over three meters tall, the Alpha Pirates are the single-strongest soldier in the Space Pirate's army. They have been horibly mutated to the point that Phazon actually composes 46% of their genetic makeup. Thus, they are radioactive in an exposed state. Fortunately, an Alpha Pirate is contained in a Phazon-Protection suit, with armor that is over 6 cm thick. This armor not only protects people from an Alpha Pirate's radioactivity, but its thick armor protects it from many low-powered concusion-based attacks. Only heavy missiles, fletchette, or high-penetrating grenades have a chance to crack its hide. Energy weapons are useless against an Alpha Pirate: for it can open its right-hand, which contains an energy-syphoning system that is charged by the Pirate's Phazonic body. Any and all energy is absorbed by this syphon-system, and is used to charge and fire the Alpha Pirate's only projectile weapon: a deadly Plasma Artilery Cannon. Such a cannon not only fires powerful blasts of energy, comparable to a small Turbolaser or Starfighter-mounted laser. By opening select parts of its armor, an Alpha Pirate can "smash" the ground and produce a Phazon-enduced shockwave. All droids within the area, unless protected by EMP shielding of Class 8 or higher, are immediately fried. Also, all humans within the area must avoid being hit or suffer similar effects of being hit by a force-lighting (with concussion damage as well).
Alpha Pirates, for all of their power, are stupid creatures. Phazon does quite a number on a Pirate brain; so a rudementary cybernetic computer is installed in every Alpha Pirate. Such computers still cannot stop an Alpha Pirate to resorting to crude "brute-force" tactics. This usually goes against standard Pirate engagement rules; which state that cunning, tactics, and overwhelming, controlled firepower should win battles. Fortunately for the rest of the Galaxy, the Alpha Pirates are few in number. In fact, only six have been created by the time of the Mandelorian Wars. These six are still in their final test stages, and are therefore in storage. Only one remains activated, a super-enanched prototype called the Omega Pirate. This creature, maddened by the experiments, has remained in Class Omega lockdown. Remember, Alpha Pirates are secret "super-troopers." Ya'll don't know much about them.
I'll get into Armor (as in Tanks and Hoverships), Spacecraft, and Defensive structures later. For now, just brood over what I've written and pose questions/concerns. I've figured out how most of these sukka's can work in a Star Wars universe and not be cheap or weak. So, just post here.

Snake Eaters, the actual Mandalore person is taken. But there is still some clans left. Tell me when you have a clan name, since I'm getting your country's name on there right.
And Albinoism, sure. Know that being Revan also gets you Malak.
I've taken out my clan and put myself in the republic, since everyone favours the mandalorians, i've decided to make myself the republic, although it hurts me to do so, since I really like basilisks.

OOC: I guess my QAC is similar to the rife-thingy. It's just supposed to be really strong and penetrating, but small and easy-to wield.
Also, SP Stealth is probably lagging behind SW stealth. Larger ships and complexes can have full-scanner/visible cloaking, while smaller soldiers can only have visual cloaking.
I posted in the main thread. Thought it would add a little flavor if I had a base on the planet that was about to be attacked ^_^
If you don't like it, tell me.
It'll confusing for hardcore SW fans to try and learn some of your weapon names and such, so you might be careful. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

Okay, Non-Theocrats, sorry for ignoring some (most) of your stuff, so I'm sorry. However, the stuff you're doing is completely un Star Wars like. So, you might want to change. What are you going to be? You'll be a republic fleet instead.

Okay, but I hear you're looking for more info on the Mando wars, just add me, and I'll tell you all you need to know. I also need to know where we are in the RP (I can't read it all).
Okay, this is free form, so whether the Mandalorians or the Republic wins doesn't matter, so everything is at stake. There is no definite winner. Right now, the Mandalorians are discussing private matters after the battle of Dxun, which they won, and the invasion of Onderon. So far they're trying to knock out the natives of Dxun, the space pirates (another player), and the republic fleet (along with revan and friends) have fled to counterstrike with another developing weapon at the Sol, a private and unknown sanctuary on Iridonia, home of the Zabraks. I'll tell Mandalore of you and Theo's sign up. You can say you're a new clan that wants to gain honor or something.
Where to find the RP - it's on the first page.

Okay, lastly, do you have any preference on entrance (actually, I mean suggestions, I don't know how I should enter)?
