The Viking class Command ship was built from the canceled Lion Class Battleship program. TPM's Navy opted to go with a modified Iowa class rather than sink funds into a new class. However 50% of the first Lion class had already been built and the engineers at Phoenix Dynamix couldn't part with their hull. So instead, with private funding and a little re-distribution of surplus funds, a plan to transform the Lion hull into a Command ship was hatched. In the dock yards there happened to be a Phoenix Class Aircraft carrier that was accidentally built with left and right reversed. It had been sitting there for almost 2 years, it most certainly would not be sold, Phoenix Dynamix wouldn't allow such an error to be made public in that way, so the engineers decided to make use of the aircraft carrier. When one the chief designers, a Mister John Dawbson, told his team to absorb the carrier into this new command ship, he thought the engineers were going to take out components, weapons etc and place them on the new ship. But instead these enterprising engineers decided to jack the hull up several feet, remove some of the engine components and relocate the tower. Most surprising to the chief designer was that they actually affixed the carrier to the new command ship, making a very unique looking vessel indeed. To Dawbson's horror Field Marshall Seville happened to see it one day.... but the Field Marshall absolutely loved it. With all the super dreadnaught/aircraft carriers out in the world today he thought it was a great idea. So the engineers decided to go ahead and refit a second, properly aligned Phoenix Class carrier that was in the dockyard. The result of the joining of a pair of heavily modified Phoenix Class Aircraft Carriers and a custom made Lion Class derivative is the Viking Class Command ship. Only one of these beasts was created and after Admiral Vrelck sees it, we can be sure that it will be the last.
