This the six-o'clock news. Our main headlines: Darah Dan Doa rebels from the far north of the country have staged a number of attacks on government faclities and military convoys. There are believed to be a large number of casulties in the area. Following the reports, Lord Barbarossa made this public address earlier today:

This unprovoked violence cannot go unpunished. We call to any and all nations who value the importance of freedom to help in the defeat of this rebels. They will be brought to justice for their crimes against this nation and it's people. Terrorism of this method is vile, inhuman and morally wrong. If they are watching this broadcast, then they can rest assured that we will find them

We will bring you more as we recieve it...


Lord Barbarossa looked across the reports scattered on his desk. None bore good news. This violence was spreading across the entire nation. Soon, Snake Eaters would be in the grip of a terror not felt since the days of Kaelis Ra... and her own people would be responsible

IC: President Brimstone watched the scene on the television in front of him. They would have to help, their law demanded it. He picked up the phone,

"General Quinteros, you've seen the news?"

"Good, get TRT's 1&2 over there now."
"Yes Sir, Mr. President, we're on our way."

5 minutes later and 50 miles away the two five-man teams were in their chinooks, vehicles and equipment on board, they would arrive in Snake Eaters within the hour.

Back in the President's office, the President was wiring a fax to the Snake Eaters' government:

President McCartney of the republic of Withinyouwithoutme sat surrounded by his advisors. Though the nation was relatively young, the military was well trained and led by inspired generals.
"Sir, it appears that Snake Eaters is having a rebellion, they're asking the international community for aid. Perhaps this is a chance to take a stand against their dicatorship?"
McCartney sat back in his chair, "what are the chances of this rebellion failing?" The advisors didn't know, "well, its a chance we need to take, the world needs to know our stand against dictators of all kinds. Get the Special Forces over there now, begin training the rebel troops and send them weapons and other supplies."
As the advisors left, McCartney sat back in his chair and looked at the ceiling, this was a huge chance he was taking, he felt sick to his stomach just thinking about what could happen.

OOC: Snake, we should hammer this out in telegrams and post something up here between our two nations.

IC: We thank Shinbreakers for their support in this matter, and ask them to RV with Shadow Team Delta at this location. They will meet your men, and inform them of the current situation. Currently, the war has not truly begun, but attacks have become more intense in recent hours.

IC: On the northern border of Snake Eaters, the Withinyouwithoutme representitive steps onto a plane with a signed treaty in his possession. Withinyouwithoutme will send the treaty to the house for vote, and if it is passed, will officially declare support for the rebel group in Snake Eaters. Already cargo planes are being mobilized and filled with supplies ranging from basic food all the way to the most high tech anti-air device, and the Special Forces are being called in to train the disorganized guerrilla army into a true fighting force, very soon these planes will lift off with their precious cargo.

Ramon Maschio, the Defense Secretary, strode into the Assembly room, a portfolio in his hands,"Look at these" He spread a number of high-quality photographs on the table,"See what the Intel guys are seeing?"

Barbarossa studied the photos,"Yes. I do. Build-up on the Northen border. So what?"

"Look at this"

A transcript of a conversation fluttered down. Barbarossa read it, and went white,"They are supporting the DDD?!"

"Looks like it. What do we do?"

"Call the War Council. We have moves to make. Contact their embassay, tell them I want to talk to their leader"

Highest Minister Norris walked down the hall, slightly faster then ususal. Next to him was his security, four troops carrying AK-74s, and two aids. Norris had, a few hours ago, heard the situation in Snake Eaters. Jagada, was a nation of little tolerance for revolts, even if the cause was a good one. The group of men walked up to a wooden door where two guards stood. They saluted and one of them opened a door. Norris entered the room, the four guards stayed outside, as did one of the aids. The room was rather large, with maps and such at the front of it, and a large table not too far away from the maps. Three men dressed in military uniforms were already in the room and were chatting amoungst themselves. Norris walked in and made it way. The three men quickly noticed Norris and stood up and saluted.

"At ease generals," stated Norris as he sat down, "So, what is the situation?"

One of the men, General Peterson, walked over to one of the map, it was a map of Snake Easters. He pointed to the north of the country, "Sir, northern Snake Easters is the primary problem, both rebels and an invasion by a foriegn force," stated Peterson.

"Who is invading them?" questioned Norris. "The Hawaiian Island appearntly, though their primarily after the oil fields in the north," stated Peterson.

"Very well, who shall we send to the government assistance?" asked Norris. "Sir, I proposal we send three Crusader divisons," said Peterson. Norris shifted in his chair slightly, Peterson just requested that they send three of their best divisons, a most unusal request. "Is the situation that bad?" asked Norris. Peterson nodded and gave a confirmation. "Alright, send them, I'll inform Snake Eaters."

One of Norris aids came over to him with pen and paper in hand. "Send the following to Snake Eaters," said Norris.

"The Commonwealth of Jagada is willing to send three divisons to aid you in both the defense of your country and the surpressing of this rebellion. I do hope you will accept, and if so were shall our divisons go?"

Crown Princess Annastrianna d' Maril had been keeping close tabs on the government of Snake Eaters since recent events. If she were to choose a side in this conflict, it would be on the side of Barbossa -- Mith and a couple of others had seen the man, and decided that he would be a good leader.

Please deploy your divisions to the far North in order to defend out oilfields. We believe the rebels may attack, along with hostile foreign forces. A company of Predator tanks is already in position, and awaiting your arrival

The treaty now stood in the House for a full debate, President McCartney had proposed the treaty, and now he had only to wait for their verdict. In the meantime he had recieved messages requesting a meeting between himself and the leader of Snake Eaters. He sat down, he had plenty of time, as the House always took weeks before making any decisions. He sent a telegram agreeing to the meeting in Withinyouwithoutme to discuss matters and perhaps reach an agreement.

A -- Send word to the Sarnor Zotreth squad...and to T'puuli. Have Captain Bezret meet us in the Third Chamber.

T -- I can open a portal to this location. *indicating a point* The fighting is here *another point, not too far* and the SE forces are here *third point, a bit south of T'puuli's intended portal.*

Anna nods, then turns to Captain Bezret. "How soon can Sarnor Zotreth be ready to depart?"

B -- Ten minutes.

A -- Make it so.

****Exactly 9.765938348 minutes later****

A portal opens on Snake Eater turf, not far from the fighting, followed by another. From one portal rush gigantic metallic riding-birds, each one carrying a Drow; from the other come Drow soldiers on flat metal disks, hooked wickedly at the front edges. Each soldier is armed with a revolver ((semi-advanced, I know nothing about guns, so tell me, someone)), and they get themselves in order before moving out to join the SE forces. The gliding ones stay at the flanks of the regiment, while the others ride in the center.

OOC: The Chocobo-thing I'm doing with the Thalack class at the moment isn't their battle form. That's cool, and for a bit later.

Barbarossa looked at the telegram from withinyouwithoutme, and then looked again. He was actually willing to give a meeting... on neutral ground. He glanced through the list of possible areas, and then settled on the DMZ on the western most edge of Snake Eaters. He quickly typed a telegram, and sent a runner...


In the mountains, close to the Arctic wastes, Darah Dan Doa leader Suhadi Sudano awoke to the crackle of gunfire. He knew those sounds well, only SHADOW use those weapons! He grabbed his kit, and ran out into the courtyard, only to see a DDD member fly backwards, blood pouring from his chest, a testement to the power of 7.62 rounds. He turned on his heel, and ran...

President McCartney arrived at the DMZ at the appointed time. Three identical planes landed, and out of each stepped three guards, a man covering his face, and three more guards. Being the first time the leader of Withinyouwithoutme met on foreign ground, no chances were being taken. The groups converged and walked towards the vehicle that would take them to the meeting between the two leaders.

"Interesting...the fate of the rebellion concerns me not, nor do I care about the invading forces. But opportunity always exists where chaos grows. Monitor this situation and keep me apprised. Also, bring one infantry and one heavy artillery division to the ready. When a victor becomes predictable, we will deploy. Let us be the proverbial straw and tip the scales when the time comes. Let us curry favour from the victor, and more importantly, debts. Finally, contact the leaders of the Snake Eaters, the rebelling faction, and the Hawiian Islands. Tell them...tell them that we are most concerned about the current events and that we hope they resolve in your favour. You are dismissed."

SHADOW Team Alpha, minus their leader Col. Cougar, who was away on other buisness (Hi there Kay), covered their President. Merely a security precaution, each one covered a number of the opposing troops. If anything untoward went down, they would drop them, and call in the artillery.

Lord Barbarossa stood as McCartney entered the room," Please sit down. We have much to discuss." As the two men sat, an aide handed a padd to Barbarossa. He looked at it, tapped a few buttons, and handed it back,"Now, where to start?"

The Kaymirilian regiment Sarnor Zotreth stops just shy of the SE Predator class tanks. Captain Bezret continues forward on his Thalack, Elghinyrrok Chath -- Chath for short. Now, if only he remembered his Common correctly...

"We of Kaymiril are honored to assist the warriors of Snake Eaters, and have come prepared to fight in the defense of your country."

McCartney sat in the offered seat, "right now I've got a treaty in the House of Representitives of Withinyouwithoutme. It's being debated in secret, as I do not want my people to know what's being said until an official stand has been taken on this issue. Normally I am not one to support an insurgency, but in this case, our people strongly dissapprove of your government, and as I am in charge of a democracy, I follow the people."

Major Faris looked at the Drow before him,"Welcome to Snake Eaters. you picked a crap time to vist though"


Barbarossa looked at him, sensing the mans naivety in governement,"My friend, this nation dwarfs you. If you didn't know, we are a proud, and noble people. We do not interfere in the running of other nations, and instead intervene only to prevent an injustice. Despite reports you may have read of us, we are not as you presume. I am asking only that you consider your actions carefully before you make a rash decision. Nobody wants blood-shed, least of all me. I merely want to bring terrorists to justice. I am sure you can sympathise with that"

Isn't that always the case? *He reaches up and guestures for Sarnor Zotreth to join the SE troops. Breaking into 20 squads of 4 Thalacks and 1 Phoenix each, they did so. They rode with a quiet grace, a virtue of elvenkind, but also with an air of deadliness about them -- a combination of the training they'd gone through, and their Drow blood.

"Regardless, the people will never support my reelection if I don't do as they will. I would like nothing more than to declare my countries neutrality, as I have in the past, but the people are hungering for more now, so I can't. Perhaps there is some other way, perhaps something you have to offer?"

B -- Lt. Iris (pronounced Eeris), I believe you have the Vel'xunyrr. Deploy it.

A "young" woman in the first squad takes a cylinder out of a sleeve pocket, and tosses it into the air, where it takes the form of a sparrow. She gives it instructions, and it flies out towards the HI forces. It maintains altitude...they wouldn't even see it...and it was too small for RADAR to detect.

OOC: You do know that NS blows things way out of proportion don't you? I try to be a democracy, but my decisions turn me into a slight dictatroship

The Assembly already exists. Each of the Secretarys is voted for by the populace as a whole. The entire population is involved for the good of the nation. They have all the freedom they require, unless they violate the law. I do not see how I can make large changes so quickly to prevent a wat between out two nations

Peterson then sent a message, encrypted to Snake Eater's force near the oil fields. "This is General Peterson of the Commonwealth of Jagada." The message was purly diplomat, to ensure Snake Eaters that Jagada was there to assist.

The Crusader Divisons formed a line near the Snake Eater's Defense Line. Each Crusader Divison had some fifty thousand troops, two armor divisons, along with two hundred artillery peices, along with several Hummers for transport and supply.

Much thanks to you for arriving. came a radio transmission, sent from an F-22 provding air support. It would take alot to take the oilfields now. Over 300 of SE's best tanks, Drow forces, and Jagada forces were now in place.

OOC yes I know all of that, I'm taking the stand as someone whos so dedicated to bringing their government form to the world that they would do anything, thats all. He's supposed to be dumb like that.

Barbarossa thought for a moment,"It is true that certain members of the Assembly are on the verge of corruption, we recently lost out Religious Secretary to an underground cult following. I will give you my word that I will rectify the problem, following the conclusion of the current crisis. However, if you break your word, rest assured you and your nation will fear the wrath of the Snake Eater!"

OOC: And in case you haven't gathered as much...S.Z. is Kaymiril's elite. They can serve as ground or air troops, maybe do navy, but it's questionable...and they're tough as dirt, too. It's easier to be a mage, in some instances, than it is to get into S.Z.

"Then it is agreed," McCartney stood up and shook hands with Barbarossa, then headed out towards his plane.

The Republic of Withinyouwithoutme's President McCartney gave a speech today pledging full support of the established government of Snake Eaters, amid cries of 'down with McCartney' and 'free the people' the president pledged any amount of support asked for by Barbarossa.

OOC: Same with SHADOW. 6 troops per patrol, so highly trained that they can take on a force of over two hundred and win! Trust me, its happened in other threads. And the best of them isn't there!

A lone Foreign Office legate was seen racing through the halls of the Palace of Belluelle Sanctus, trying to hurry and send out his message before the situation escalated further. He glanced down at the documents in his hand:

We, the Senate of Belluelle, in accordance with our laws, have decided thus: The Shadowy State of Snake Eaters shall receive assistance in the form of two cohorts of the XXXIIII Legion, in order to maintain security and order due to the recent barbaric attacks on the established government of said state. These troops shall be sent where the Snake Eaters direct, barring an immediate and pressing concern at home, requiring their presence. We have delayed for this amount of time so as to ascertain the justice of using military force on said rebels. We have concluded that their actions demand justice and we are prepared to bring it to bear.

Upon reaching the communications office, the legate telegrammed the message to the Snake Eaters, winning the bet that he could not send out his message in less than two minutes.

Somehow I doubt I'll ever get to be that old, but it is good to have a dream. As for your other comment, I agree. But, it is not worth fighting without acknowledging that there is a good chance that you will live to see the day through to it's conclusion

In this situation, it's more than likely that most of us will live to see the day through. However...casualties are expected.

The RGJ's had been preparing for the assualt, and opened fire. MILAN missiles and LAW 90's flew towards the Hawaiian tanks, and the .50 GPMG's opened up, the rounds kicking dirt into the faces of the troops

Please deploy your troops close to your border, in case they need to be recalled. Rebel acticvity in that area has been sparse, but reports are coming in that suggest a major assualt soon. Be warned, these rebels are well-armed and are not afraid to die

The Thalack Class Gliders from the even units of Sarnor Zotreth began to rise and change shape. Fairly soon, they were all sleek, aerodynamic war "planes," and the enchantments used to shrink and conceal their weaponry disengaged. They flew off, and over the HI forces, dropping their bombs. ((OOC: HI, I'll let you decide how much damage you took.))

The other Thalacks changed shape as well. They looked like small horses, with a horn on the middle of their noses. Part of their transformation put an "armor" around their riders. At Bezret's signal, the Odd Squads of S.Z. charged. While they ran along the SE path of fire, they made sure to keep away from the SE missles. While riding, the Odd divisions began assembling larger guns, stored in their Thalacks. They aimed...and waited to come into range.

The RGJ's had been preparing for the assualt, and opened fire. MILAN missiles and LAW 90's flew towards the Hawaiian tanks, and the .50 GPMG's opened up, the rounds kicking dirt into the faces of the troops
The troops and tanks hit on heavy fire. Rocket launchers attack at the pinpoint to return fire. 30 Hawaiian soldiers have been killed. Medic, this is Alpha 1, we request some medical assistance! Lt. Surge crying out to his radio. This is Alpha 5, we have medical assistance and troops, do you need soldiers too? replying from another nearby camp. Hell yeah! hurry up, heavy fire, 30 dead, 3 tanks destroyed, undergoing heavy fire... REPEAT HEAVY FIRE. After the message was received a big static erupted.

The statistics are that Hawaiian soldiers controlled the ambush.

The Chinooks touched down at the Snake Eater airfield, where the men were met by a native MP (as in military policeman, as opposed to member of parliament). Their gear was unloaded into their Company humvees, and they were brought to meet the Snake Eaters Special Forces team they were collaborating with.

General Quinteros stepped forward. "I am Brigadier General Maximus Quinteros of the Shinbreakers Royal Army. What can we do to help?"

OOC: In reply to your (Snake Eaters) post on my seemingly mediocre standard gear, it is intentional. Just trying to keep a low profile. The Chinooks are no big deal, just transport. And I know P90s are sub-machineguns, hence the reason the less combative members of the teams have them. I put down assualt rifle on the original post because they are slighty better than the average SMG, so it was just an easier way of communicating that to people who might not know a lot about weapons. And the SA-80s - well, if they're good enough for the British Army, they're good enough for me! :D
