It was peaceful night in the South Korean coastline; the sky was tinge with a soft orange color as down was approaching. Most Koreans were sleeping peacefully, even the banks night guards were dozing off as the cool night breeze soothed everyone to sleep. All you could hear throughout the coast was the splashing of the waves and the waking fishermen stirring up from their beds, trying hard not to wake up their wife’s. Inland the jungle was never quiet; the wild life was always making sure that a different noise played every second like a natural symphony.

Suddenly the silence was broken by powerful explosions, followed by the thundering of thousands of heavy boots landing on the beaches of the south. Two whole naval fleets started bombarding the Peninsula with all they got, from cruise missiles to high-explosive cannon shells. A small army of a 100,000 Marines was landing all around the south beaches of the Korean peninsula, while another 50,000 paratroopers were being dropped far inland, inside the big cities and important industrial centers. A Carrier group was preparing its airwing for quick deployment; its F-35 Joint Strike Fighters and F-18/A Super Hornets were making final checks on their equipments.

The Koreans were taken by surprise although as morning began resistance began to get stiffer, as the Korean army began moving assets against the incoming forces. Nevertheless the advance weaponry of the invading Pheanixian forces clearly gave them a strict advantage, especially the jamming equipment onboard three modified 747 over flying the Peninsula. Everything was going smoothly, all they needed to do now was eradicate the remaining units of the Korean army that were heading north to regroup.

Already many of the cities located in South Korea were under Pheanixian control, from Mokp’o to Taejon, the Marines and Paratroopers were working with great efficiency especially in this heavily forested area. The commanding Generals were pleased, especially General Brook Commander of the invasion forces, but that didn’t mean that everyone was relaxing and taking a suntan in the deck of the Commonwealth II. The makeshift command center was bursting with activity as the Generals assed the situation and gave new orders almost every hour, all possible thanks to the live data being transmitted by the same planes jamming all the Koreans frequencies.

“Send the second wave” General Brooks voice boom through the room silencing everyone as to let him speak freely, “attack the amassing enemy units to the north”. It only took a couple of seconds for everyone to proceed the order mentally before waking up and ordering the remaining Amphibious Groups to dropped their Marines in North Korea. Another small army of 100,000 Marines would land on the beaches between the cities of Wonsan and Hungnam, then spread out the remaining territory killing any resistance they meet. Soon the whole peninsula would be under Pheanixian control.

The Air Marshall went over to General Brook’s side notifying him that the Air Wing was ready for action wanting to get the go ahead for his pilots to do some damage. “General, the planes are ready for take off. Should we send them in now?” he asked. “Good, send them in…and make sure the Korean resistance cease to exist” General Brook responded, wanting to eliminate all resistance on the peninsula for good. Half an hour later the whole Air Wing was airborne their missiles hot and the bombs armed, soon the Korean morning would be filled with thundering explosions.

By now the whole south was engulfed either in flames or in rubble as the constant naval bombardment leveled almost every Korean outpost and military facilities to the ground. It was a sight to behold; the industrial and population centers were almost all intact as the precision bombing and guided missiles launch by the Pheanixian forces were always dead-on. The Marines and Paratroopers in the south had secured almost of the major cities except for Seoul and Wujon, the last bastion of the South Korean army. Casualties weren’t that heavy but not light either, over 7,000 Marines and Paratroopers were either KIA or MIA, and another 3,000 heavily wounded. The Pheanixians were taking a heavy toll, but with victory almost in their grasp the only thing they could was push onward, to finish the fight their brothers and sisters died trying.

The invasion force was advancing quite fast through out the remaining areas still under Korean control; the attack had begun at dawn and by now it was in full swing. In the south only the capital city of Seoul was still under enemy control, but that would changed soon enough as the Marines were preparing to take it in the next few hours. To the north, the cities had fallen even more easily as the citizens were tired of living under a communist regime for such a long time. Most of the time the marines had been welcomed with open arms, as liberators of the people, although many hard liners and loyalist to the current regime still prowled the cities.

Each city was thoroughly checked, its buildings empty out and inspected to make sure that no enemy presence caught the Pheanixian Force by surprise. It was a long tedious process but one necessary to make sure that the recent liberated areas would stay that way, not to mention that it made lives easier for the marines once the invasion process culminated. In the north most of the Korean army was amassing for one final battle to defend their homeland, they even manage to muster a couple dozen planes to try to take back air superiority. The funny thing was that they would be flying blind, cut off from any communication to the either friendly planes or their bases, that much was guarantee by the Pheanixian high command.

Seoul and Pyongyang were being bomb out of existence to accelerated the take over of the peninsula. The F-18/A Super Hornets were making short work out the cities defenses, including many government buildings and military outpost. The F-22 Raptors and F-35 JSF were engaging the brave Korean pilots trying to defend their capital cities, their outdated MiG’s were no match for the advanced Pheanixian airplanes although a few Koreans got lucky enough to down an aircraft or two. By now a combined force of Marines and Paratroopers was engaging the remaining units in the Korean army, and utterly destroying them in the process.

By sunset the whole peninsula would be under the control of General Brook and his forces, it was only a matter of time…

OOC: Since I'm new at the Earth rping, may I ask a question? When you say Korean peninsula, you mean both North Korea and South Korea, yes? But the South Korean Military is very updated with modern tech in RL and could easily repulse your small force with its numbers, not to mention the North Koreans, who spend 30% GDP on their military. Just a question. :)
