Early History [1 AD – 100 AD]
Nycton was founded around the very early AD periods. The main island was settled by a people with a blend of Roman, German, and Scandinavian cultures. During settlement of the island, small religious wars were fought among the Catholics and Protestant groups, but no real conflicts arose except several allies villages fighting back and forth. Latin, German, and broken Old English was spoken during the era.
The First Government [101 AD – 380 AD]
A city known as Nyvidan, modern day capital of Nycton, was the very first capital of Nycton. It began with a long and confusing royal bloodline for the Emperor’s thrown. Emperor Valint the XIV began massive military buildup and expansion in every direction of the city. Word spread of the aggression in the western/central parts of the island, the warlords met in an unknown location in the north-central mountains. They united under 1 banner, and the war had started.
The Ancient War [381 AD – 413 AD]
This war officially began with the march of 140,000 barbarians from the north-central mountains into the east. The Empire was relatively slow to react and lost 1,000’s of men until a army of 155,000 grouped and marched to fight the hostiles. The Battle of Verifields Canyon had taken place for a heroic victory for the Empire. The army continued west until it entered the north-central mountains. Many small battles took place over the next several years with many reinforcements being sent from both sides, thousands died with no real cause. The Empire withdrew, and loaded the leftovers of 37,000 men onto a ship only 3 months after they had arrived and rested. They sailed a wide U shape around the island, unloaded the army and it began it’s rampage through. Hundreds of warlords were killed and finally General Romani signed the peace treaty, which in the end dissolved the United Tribes of Nycton.
The rise and fall of an Empire [414 AD – 699 AD]
After the 1st Ancient War, prosperity drowned the people of Nycton. Only a sliver in society belonged to the Lower Class. The Nycton legions won countless victory overseas and had taken countless islands all over the area from foreign enemies and tribes. During the late 500’s moral and political corruption had taken hold. Countless insane Emperor’s had taken thrown and been abdicated in no time, military generals split from the Empire as rogue generals ruling their own lands. Foreign armies sought to take their old land back; the Empire weakened by it’s over strung army. Emperor Dallient the XVI in 665 began giving independence to countless providences of the Empire. In 699, a massive foreign army lay outside the walls of Nyvidan. The citizens fed with Imperial decline attacked soldiers and government buildings, simultaneously being attacked by the hostile. The three-way brawl ended with tens of thousands dead, half the city in ruin, and the city sacked of all its treasures. The Empire ceased to exist.
A Divided Island [700 AD – 1000 AD]
The island of Nycton was split into at the least 30 different warring territories. Rogue generals, politicians, and upper-class jobs ruled many of these, and pointless and small wars raged on throughout the island. Much history is unrecorded during this time period.
A Reunited Nycton [1000 AD – 1600 AD]
Still unknown to any reason today, Nycton suddenly was a single nation in the early 1000 AD. It is believed that many of the major powers united into a type of oligarchy system. Life was very rough in the era, with no food, barely enough shelter, harsh weathers, constant small wars, and more. Firearm was created and exploration began late in the era. Only 1 major colony was founded and named Nyctania.
Connections to the World [1601 AD – 1930 AD]
Many different countries were located and opened trade routes. Nycton’s economy skyrocketed from nothing in almost no time. Capital moved from Nyvidan to Azuus. The Nyctanian Uprising started in early 1800’s. Almost 15 years fighting led to Nycton victory. In 1930’s, a trusted member of the bloodline Oligarchy is beloved through out the island, and granted eliminated power as Director of Nycton, his name was Travis Donathon.
Fascist Nycton [1930 AD – 2004 AD]
Strict laws and restrictions began to take place, freezing civil and political rights slowly. Police and military funding goes on a huge rise. Thousands of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons are stockpiled. In 1951, military size reaches peak at 38 million men military. In 1955, Donathon Jr. is born and is celebrated with the 2 million-man march. Starting from 1955 – 1980, wars numbering in the double digits are entered in, leaving no real spoils of victory except reputation and wealth. At the age of 86 in 1984, Director Donathon Sr. dies of old age. In his will, it is said Donathon Jr. gets his position of power. Upon the reading of the will, he proclaims himself Premier of Nycton. During 1984 – 2004, Donathon Jr. cuts military from 38 million men to 30 million men with the idea of giving the idea a upgrade in technology. In 1993, The Donathon Purges begin. Hundreds of thousands are killed in their sleep in a 6-month period. A majority of the victims are denied existence and homes are evicted for many lower ranked officers of the Judgment Police (Secret Police of Donathon). A total of 5 small theatre wars are engaged in until 2004. Donathon Jr. has a blood clot in his sleep and dies.
Imperial Revolution [2004 AD -]
The death of Donathon Jr. sparks the revolution led by a man and his son, simply known as the Valteens. Before Donathon Jr.’s death, a deal was struck with the Grand Field Marshal Greninger. He swore allegiance to Valteen and a 29 million man military was under Valteen’s command in seconds. Millions of normal troops under Valteen Jr. fought in the streets of Azuus until the capture of the Presidential Palace was captured and many top figureheads of the Fascist party were captured including Donathon Jr’s sheltered son. Their fate is still unknown. The two Valteen’s reclaim the Empire in power of Nycton again with a Republic shape, to add a hence of Democracy. The father Valteen proclaims himself Imperator Augustii Valteen the I. The Son becomes Flavius Valteen the II, and plans the reformation of the military with Grand Field Marshal Greninger.
