Shrin Kali Borders Open

Shrin Kali
05-03-2005, 17:09
The young nation of the Shrin Kali has recently begun sending out diplomats to affirm its presence in the world and secure some position in international affairs. They have begun seeking trading partners and potential military alliances. There has been some mild success in these endeavors, however, it has been decided that more and greater action will be necessary. Under that premise, Diplomat Nyre LeMark has called for an open meeting, free to attend by any and all foreign media and leaders as are interested. The meeting will commence on the shores off Seritania, the planned leisure city.

Of first importance, however, is some basic knowledge of the geography of the nation. First off, Noravos is the capital of the Shrin Kali, and is based at the point where the two parts of the Talera river unite and flow towards the gulf of Serritania. It is the main food supplier of the nation. East along the river is the mountain city of Perth. It is surrounded by mines, and is by far the most densely populated city. It is also the center of engineering knowledge. South along the river is the university city of Yella. Yella is situated on top of a mountain that rises out of an otherwise smooth plain. Not only is it a geological anomaly, it is a lawless, raucous town of students and scholars. Serritania is north of Noravos. It is a split town, with one side being on land and the other being on an artificial island accessible only by underwater tunnels. The tunnels are already built, but the rest of the island is languishing for want of construction workers and funding. It is a planned leisure city, but as yet is not known for anything but trout.
The four cities outline a mildly lopsided triangle, with Perth at the point while the other three are the far side.

The meeting itself will take place on the plains in the coastal portion of Serritania. Lodgings will be available for all those who wish to attend. The airport in Novaros will accomodate those arriving by plane, and a short but luxurious and scenic trip by magrail should take them to the meeting place. At least, it'd better be luxurious. Those magrails took so much funding out of our economy we actually, briefly, had to establish a formal government just to coordinate it. Of course that arrangement didn't last any longer than the magrail construction took. It's simply not in our culture's nature.

We await eagerly for all those interested in attending, and hope that we can show our small nation to be clean and advanced.

The Cetacean Embassy in Noravus hasn't been completed yet, so we'll send over a diplomat to negotiate trading deals.

OOC: Our leadership is classified as "corrupt" and this should tell why.

To: Johann Weishaupt, acquisition and diplomacy, Wilson Nano-Industries
FROM: Diplomat Nyre LeMark

Mr. Weishaupt:

I am the official voice of the Shrin Kali, and founder of it's governing council. I am the only member with a permanent place. Although I do not have permission to authorize you, formal permission is purely a formality. We do not typically restrict new businesses from opening on our shores, and as such we shall not restrict you. We hope you will be very happy with the market and conditions here.

There is one caveat, though. Our military is small, but is funded primarily by corporations within the nation. If you deem a technology to have military uses, a working prototype should be sent to present General Salor Neveyen, head of our military. Of course, the decision of whether it has such uses is yours to make. Doing so will allow you to access certain portions of our technological database. Companies that allow the council to keep detailed logs of their works will gain limited access to the same logs from their rivals; the amount of detail given will depend on the amount of information you give us. We do this for two reasons. The one is that it keeps our military very modernized. The other is out of perrenial curiousity by our Rakkon science advisor, who has held office longer than anyone else on the council aside from yours truly. Lastly, this looks very good in the public eye. Research is half our national motto, after all.

Your choice of our capital city is a good one. It will have by far the lowest construction costs. However, you will run the risk that you are directly in public view constantly, where corporations in Perth or especially Yella can typically stay out of sight if they so choose. Due to this choice, you will be expected to conduct your business in clean form, both of manners and environmentally. Our citizens are quite reactionary, and we will not restrict the will of the public for anything or anyone.

Thank you for your interest, and we hope you will find our country amenable to your research.

Wired from: The Turkimen Economic Councilate
Wired To: The leader or leaders of Shrin Kali

Greetings from his majesty Frederian IV. I am Westin Quert, the head of the Economic Council of Turkimen, and I wish to inform you on behalf of all of Turkimen, espeically the board of Supervisors from our automobile industry, that we have great interest in applying both Automobile sales, and trading petroleum and other raw materials and goods that a burgeoning economy already needs. If any further information is needed, feel free to ask, if not then I suppose we will await your words on any sort of outsourcing deal, and see if we can't also send in a military base to train our troops in different environs. The generals have seen this as a necessity for some time, espeically with our new Spartan I battle equipment in further testing. I can't say anything further on that however.

Regards,
Westin Quert, Head of the Economic Council.

Message To: Nyre LeMark
Message From: Tlaloc Pandor, Chairman, International Commerce Commission

Greetings, esteemed Diplomat. I wish to announce my intent to enter a trade agreement. Nargopia has an abundance of the following:

Solar Power Cells
Silicon
Gunpowder
Saltwater (price increase for pre-desalination)

If you are interested in purchasing any of the following, please TG us with your intent. We highly recommend the Solar Power Cells; bi-daily eclipses on the Planet of Nargopia allow us to harvest an immense amount of solar energy, which we sell to other nations rather cheaply. If you wish to partake in this deal, please contact us.

From: Nyre LeMark, cosigned by Economist Fayer Wun
Addressed to the Turkimen' Economic Council:
The government will not buy anything related to the auto industry, however, I am certain that if you were to establish an embassy and declare it a corporate entity, you might find a good public market for your goods.

As for your desire to open a military base, this will depend on two things.
1. Declare, explain, and offer prototypes for all equipment to be used or present on the base.
2. You will allow the Shrin Kali direct command of the bases without Turkimen intervention.

If you wish to train your troops here, you will have to grant us these two things. It is worth noting that though small, our country has a very great range of climates, and they will certainly benefit from our generally harsh training styles as well as our knowledge of various weapons that are scarcely found elsewhere.
