Emperor Justinian stepped foward dressed in an Imperial White suit. He looked over the balcony at the gathered media and then inserted his ear piece.

“Today I announce a new era,” began Justinian.

“Reform of the state, the Church and of the Elected Councils will spread further.”

“Today I announce the economy shall join these reforms. Continual war has been a drain on our nation’s infrastructure, and it must be replaced.”

“High taxes to fund the wars have drained business investment and so they will be slashed.”

“Government subsidies encouraged sloth and shall be abolished.”

“To open Farminan industry up to competition all trade barriers will be removed.”

“The government will set up an incentive scheme to encourage struggling small businesses to amalgamate into industrial giants where appropriate.”

“I shall enter a free trade treaty with any nation that wishes it.”

“The government will illegalize unions to improve labour productivity and reduce labour costs. The Minimum Conditions of Employment Act will be scrapped completely.”

“Low interest loans will be offered to encourage firms to adopt the latest and most efficient technologies.”

“Farminan industries will enjoy a huge increase in productivity, and become one of the greatest low cost producers in the world. For this reason Farminan goods will become internationally preferred and Farminan employment improved.”

“But we will go further still by offering loans to foreign governments and investing in foreign industries to build up Farminan assets.”

“The revolution is nearing completeness.”

Justinian paused before asking, “Are there any questions?”

He pressed in his ear piece to hear from the media below and national leaders around the world.

To Farmina

We believe that your economic restruturing is extremely crucial to the global marketplace. Therefore, we would like to open and enforce economic ties with Farmina, to further strengthen both nations' economy.

By checking out our nation, you will that our economy should be sufficient for such an act.

"We have no particular needs or goods on offer. What will be traded relies on relative efficiencies. We do expect firms will concentrate on low cost manufacturables," said Justinian, "I also have no idea what is particularly in need at the moment. Trade is a matter for businesses not governments. All we want is for firms to be allowed to trade. I should point out that trade is a matter of 'consenting adults.' If the agreement is in place and trade then occurs, it must be beneficial. If no trade occurs, then nothing is lost."

Oologah

The Nation of Oologah is most pleased by the news out of Farmina. Economic reforms are great for the nation's people and raise other nations' view of said nation. With this in mind, the economic ministry in Oologah is debating upon whether or not to open up trade with Farmina. Due to massive (approximately 81%) support from the people though, and because elections to rebuild the government are slated for less than 2 weeks away, these procedings are expected to pass easily through the economic ministry and go to vote in the Council of Thirteen. If this bill passes, Oologah shall authorize all of its businesses to export their product to Farmina, and to make Farmina Most Favored Nation as far as outsourcing is concerned. By outsourcing several mid level technology positions to Farmina, and using our people to train your people, this will help you economy get on track, and it will free up those people for management roles in the Oologah government sponsored companies.
