Announcing the TSA!

Most of you have had riots, right? Hard to contain, aren't they? Well, that can be changed if you purchase the TSA (Tactical Support, Armored)! These Vehicles are meant to augment existing police and S.W.A.T. forces in MT RP's. Roughly based on a Semi-truck chassis, these 22 ton mobile platforms come in three varients:

The first, the TSA-1, is meant for heavy, non-violent suppresion. It carries three roof mounted turrets; Two in the front contain high-pressure water cannons and one in the back contains a grenade launcher with a 20 round magazine of either smoke, gas, or a mixed batch of grenades. The 1230 gallon water tank takes up much of the room in the truck, leaving only space for the three gunners and a driver, all of whom are protected by .25 of steel plating and armored glass windows.

The second version, the TSA-2, is a troop transport. It replaces the two water cannons with two more grenade launchers and more amunition, and the water tank is replaced by slightly thicker armor plating and room for 10 policemen in full riot gear.

The final version, the TSA-3, is a mobile command vehicle. It replaces the turrets with sensors and antenna for the sophisticated computers hidden in the belly of the machine. There is room for two computer operatiors, a commander, and a driver.

Each TSA varient comes with one aditional feature, the Pelican Armored Extenders. These thick plates of steel are folded up against the sides of the trucks when in motion, but can be hydrolicly extended the provide a 6' by 5' shield for advancing policemen. The only drawback on this system is that they do not cover the drivers exit. They are all also fitted with external speaker systems to spread warnings and propoganda.

If you are still not sold on these, consider the following scenarios. The first is without the TSA's, and the second is with.

1) You have recently passed an unpopular law, and protestors gather outside of your capitol. A militant group of your political adversaires take advantage of the situation to incite a riot. All police in the city are called in the assist your estate's guardsman, but they are not enough. Your enemys have outfitted the rioters with small-arms and makeshift weapons such as chair legs and 2x4's. The police put up a valient fight, but weight of numbers simply overwhelms them. The enraged people storm your house, execute your family, and tortue you on live TV.

2) You have recently passed an unpopular law, and protestors gather outside of your capitol. A militant group of your political adversaires take advantage of the situation to incite a riot. All police in the city are called in the assist your estates guardsman, but they are not enough, that is until they call in the TSA's. The heavy vehicles roll out of their garages across the city, and the militant crowd's small arms simply bounce off the sides of the massive trucks. They position themselves outside your estate, and deploy their Pelican Armored Extenders, allowing the police to saftly take cover. The water cannons stun and disarm enough of the rioters to allow the police to swoop in and use non-violent means to round up and disperse the trouble makers. The origional militant group has holed up in the city park, but a few well-placed gas grenades from the supporting TSA's quickly flush them out into the waiting arms of the S.W.A.T. teams. Crisis averted!

Now, how much would you expet to pay for one of these miracle machines? $100 million? $80 million? $50 million?! EVEN $20,000,000?! NO! Order now, and you'll get the TSA-1 for only $4,000,000, the TSA-2 for only $10,000,000, and the TSA-3 for only $12,000,000!

(Edit: These are all MT, by the way)

Or violent force works wonders for riot supression, nothing says Cease and disperse quite like a couple of tanks firing canister rounds.
Einhauser

True, but it would probably just increase the agitation of the rest of the population. Because seriously, what would you do if you saw an M1A1 come rolling down your street, indiscriminatly firing gas at point blank range?

Get out of there and fast. And make a note not to piss the government off.

The way I see it, if you rule with an iron fist and wish for riots, then opt for a tank with gas-grenades, but if you rule benvolently and wish for a prosperous work-force, then go with the TSA. Its cheaper and better suited to the roll of crowd-control and dispersal.

Tank with gas grenades? I was thinking live munitions :p. But the real trick is to keep the drones to busy working, screwing, or someother form of entertainment, to want to riot.

But for those who dislike a bit of bloodshed this gets my Hippie Suppersor award (not all awards are made up on the spot).

I think a tank would win in a fight against your TSA, hehe.

of course it would, its meant for war. The TSA are meant purly for augmenting the police, and would not stand ten seconds against even WWII tech tanks.

True, but how about in jousting (jousting in fast moving vehicles is a great way to remove unwanted stupidity from the gene pool).

So ive noticed. Me and my friends would joust with our bikes and broom poles. Anyway, lets get back on topic and leave this thread open so people can start buying in the morning.

Yes... hrm:

We of the Mikosolf Corporation applaud you in your efforts to further bring about ways of nondeadly ways to break up riots. But feel that at this time our current system is effective enough to not warrent such a vehicle.

What's the price?

03-03-2005, 07:08
We're thinking of buying a few TSA-2's and 3's, but would obviously need to know a bit of information before making a purchase.

First off, could the grenade turrets be loaded with actual ordinance? Just in case.

Also, is express delivery available, and if so for what price?

The price has been mentioned above. Yes, the turrets can be loaded with standard flash-bang or frag grenades as well as gas and smoke. Speedy delivery of up to 20 TSA's is possible for only $20,000 a vehicle. After 20, the price increases by $5,000.

(Sry it took so long for me to reply, I had to go to bed before I could see this thread to completion.)

no need for it now, the Republic Guardians are trained for this eventuality, and also you forgot that if the protestor besiege the house, you can call a chopper to evac you, if things gets worse and the angry mob begins to fire small arms, i simply order the police to fire on the mob, eye for eye
if things continues to get worse i will authorize the use of flamethrowers, i sayed this many time in parliament in front of protestors:รน
if you put up a civil protest, then do it, but if you incite a riot, i will repell it with every mean deemed necessary

Firing into the crowd is probably the stupidest thing you could do. It would only make the survivors angier and the undecided people not already involved in the riot will turn against you. Neighboring nations would ignore or invade you, because killing your own people, even in a riot, is a crime against common sense. I guess you could send a chopper, but I doubt it would get there fast enough... A seriously determined riot could easily get to a manor before a helicopter that started out miles away.

Holy Emperor Tiberius Septimus I, who very much enjoys his lengthy name, folds his hands carefully.

"There are no riots in Alavania. Due to this, we do not require any of your TSAs, though they look superb for ... crowd control. In fact, we would buy such a wonderful machine, if it were not one: overpriced, and two: completely unneccessary.

"We have ways of making sure our population is happy and content. The TSA is not one of them.

"But, we might consider stealing a few, just because they're damned nifty and we could sell them off for a couple million on eBay."

OOC: The one problem you'll have is just like logistics, people dont consider that people might disagree with them. It falls under the "infinite morale" clause in the fine print of most bad RP's ^_^ Personally my national tactic is not to piss them off in the first place by ya know... NOT killing off those who dont agree with the senate all the time (though that might prevent a riot if none of those who oppose you are left... its not a road I would like to take.)

But that dosent mean its not a nice design, and if it wasnt for the fact your asking 25 million for an armored truck I could build for at (extreme) most 1-2 mill (and that would be seriously state of the art at todays costs).

You get a star for creativity and for putting out a non-military vehicle, but not the sale. Im not yet convinced why I should spend more than five times more money for a product from a foriegn design team of which I have no previous experience with.

I can assure you that the reason for the rather high price is that they are made of the latest materials and with the latest and greatest electronics aboard. As to you never having any riots or problems with your popluace, think again. No nation in the history of forever has never had riots. Its simply a fact of life that they happen. And, as too stealing them, that would be somewhat problematic, as none have been built yet. Einhauser's products are all made upon order.

OOC: Thinking about it, it is rather costly, but that can be changed. Just not to 1-2 mil, thats simply too little.

"Oh, darn," says the august Tiberius.

"Well, I assure you, there have been no riots while I have been ruling this wonderful and beautiful nation."

An aide glances nervously at Tiberius. But several of the other aides have been shot for not making the coffee, so he doesn't say a thing.

Kargucagstan
03-03-2005, 20:40
Prime Minister Adrian Delphi of the Dominion of Kargucagstan sat at his computer, his trusty aid Karl von Salza standing slightly to the left of the monitor. Adrian furiously typed on the state-of-the-art machine, spitting out words faster then most people could follow. When he was finally finished, he hit "print", and handed the requisition sheet to Karl. "Read this order form and tell me what you think", he commanded. Karl glanced down at the sheet.

"Sir, this has nothing to do with requisitioning anything. In fact, it appears to be a recipe for double chocolate cake..." Adrian grabbed the sheet and lifted his glasses.

"Why, so it is. Funny, I thought I was typing an order form... Ah well, just purchase 6 of them... what are they called.... you know, the trucky things?"

"The TSA. Sir?" asked Karl tenetivly.

"Ah yes, those. Order six of the first one, eight of the second, and three of the third."

"As you command", Whispered Karl as he quietly swept out of the room.

(In case you didnt pick it up, I want six TSA-1's, eight TSA-2's, and three of the TSA-3's. Money will be wired upon confirmation of the deal. No express shipping is required.)
