Yeah, is it just me or has it become a little slow around here? (Well, for MT nations like me.) I mean I see a lot of FT Role Plays, and I see some MT Role Plays, but they all seem to be closed. I'm probably just whining, so please forgive me. I'm just saying, don't you feel that we ought to start something big once more?

I don't know if it's all that slow to be honest. There are good RPs around and some of them are open, too. You just have to look for them.

It's possible that some people have important projects at school and uni and some folks may be dealing with deadlines at their jobs. Sometimes, RL circumstances interfere with the best laid plans of everyone. As for me, I have three potentially major RPs at various stages of development, and I personally don't like open RPs because they tend to degenerate into crap quickly.

Give it time, come up with some story ideas or look for RPs that allow people to jump in and pitch a story angle to the writer of the RP. Sometimes, even if the writer doesn't have a spot for you in THAT RP, he or she can come up with something for you in a future RP.

I know what you mean RF. I remember when I first joined and RPs seemed to take off immediately. There were also alot more wars and open RPs that actually remained manageable. Still, it could just be the time of the year. Plus, as we get more NS experience, we tend to stop paying attention to every new thread so it seems like there's less going on. It passes. Good RPs are always out there or just around the corner.

I know how you feel. I have not seen a really big war for some time now. So in the meantime, I'm going to try for a lunar base with a comrade of mine. So it would really be the first RP I've started(I need to finalize a few thingies before doing so though). I might test a ortillery system in the meanwhile though.

Yes. It is quite slow. I am, however, working on a political RP that may just blossom into outright war. We'll have to see waht happens, and don't worry, I'll invite you all. :D

Yeah, I know that RL stuff interferes with a lot here. I mean, I'm just on a really short break, and I rarely have an free time anymore, but there is always a bit of time. Anyway, thanks for the feedback...

I have noticed the unfortunate trend of a whole slew of, shall we say, mediocre RPs, with a few decent ones mixed in; unfortunately, these tend to be overwhelmed by a hundred month-old nations trying to flex muscle.

I know what you mean... Mine would fall under the mediocre ones.

Most modern tech nations often go to postmodern tech as a way to one-up their competition. They then go from there and just end up as future-tech nations. That's how we did it oh-so long ago.

(OOC: That's kind of how it happened for me as well. But it wasn't to one up any competition though, I just liked the thought of big space battles and hyper advanced tech in place of the same old MBTs and noobs who think that they own with one nuke.

I started out as full blooded MT, currently, I'm Post-modern. Future Tech, well, I created a puppet nation, but I probably won't end up using it. I was just kinda letting off steam with this thread... Sorry to bother you guys.

I know a lot of people are like "bah, he's a noob" but I actually played NS a couple of years ago and had been pretty prominent back then but my account got deleted due to innactivity, I don't even remember the name anymore, but anyways, I am off, my girlfriend is on the way over so yeah...

I like the tech theory of "its an RP, not a weapons convention".

Sure, I make my tanks shiney and make up pretty stats but we are cooperativly writing a story, does saying your tank pwn mine really matter?
