Glenn couldn't believe his eyes. The Queen had actually agreed. "This is great! Okay, I already chartered us a ride to Earth. Let me write up a reply."

"Umh... Glenn... I don't have any 'Princess' type clothes. And I doubt this station stocks a 'Princess Fanshion' outlet." Janis told him, leaning over his shoulder.

"Uhhhh.... Hmmm... Alrigth, let me check something." He alt-tabed out of the communication program, bringing up a popular search engine. "Let's see. Search for Royal Mew Family... Okay... Umh... No, no... Ah, here we go. The Krowemohian Royal Family. Let's see..." His trained eyes skimmed the webpage, an old fanmade site that was last updated twenty years ago. "Hmmm... See, here... The old Shin-Ra Tower, on Earth. After Krowemoh migrated from Earth, it seems the Royal family more or less left the Shin-Ra Tower as is. Yumi Mew, Prince Rufus Mew's Niece, she looked to be about your size. Maybe some of her clothes are still there?"

Janis leveled her sight at him for a long while. "You... Expect me to wear over two hundred year old clothes? Like... Totally ew!"

"Janis... Trust me on this, in no time flat, you'll be living in the lap of luxury." He flashed her a toothy grin, getting the location of the Shin-Ra Tower, then typed out a response to the Queen...

The Marine gave Glenn an odd look, one eybrow raised, as if questioning if the Neko was serious about the whole ordeal. "Lemme get this straight, you want to borrow one of my BDUs, and have me teach you how to shoot a Rifle, all so you can impress this human Earth chick you meet through an online dating service?"

Glenn rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, a friendly, lop-sided grin plastered on his face. They were in the Marine's private chambers, the soldier standing almost a full head above Glenn. "Umh. Yeah. You see, I kinda sorta put in my eRelationship profile that I'm a Krowemohian Marine. Oh, please! You gotta help me, man! This is true love, I just know it!"

Sighing and shaking his head, the Marine kneels, opening his footlocker. "Fine. Just, try not to get it dirty, okay?" He said as he pulled out a neatly folded pair of Krowemohian Marine fatigues, passing it over to Glenn. "As for the rifle training... Get a Realian to do it. I got too much stuff to do." He said, leaving the chamber.

Too much stuff? Yeah, right. All you do is stand in one spot and make sure no one tries to sneak into the engine room. Glenn thought as the Marine left, quick on his heals. Next, the shuttle!

The docking bay of the Cori's Gift was deserted, save for Gleen, waiting near a blue Ultor Corporation VIP Transport Shuttle. He was dressed from head to toe in the full Krowemohian Marine BDU. Although it was nearly as neat as would a real soldier would wear, at a casual glance, it would appear he belonged. Impanitetly he glanced at his watch, tapping it several times, then letting out a frustrated sigh.

Finally, after many minutes of waiting, Janis came into the docking bay, a duffle bag over one shoulder. Quietly, she scurried over to Glenn. "Sorry. I got held up. Everything set?"

"Mmmhmm. I managed to clear the Idola for launch. Let's get on and go." He said, glancing about quickly as he and her boarded the Idola.

Moving to the cockpit, Glenn addresses the two Realian pilots. "Okay. launch as planned."

"Affirmative." The pilot said, flicking on several switches. With a furiative hum, the ship powers to life, lifting off the floor of the docking bay.

Suddenly, the comm system blared to life, a voice barking over it. "This is Deck Maste-" The voice was cut short as Glenn killed the comm connection.

The shuttle taxis itself to the edge of the docking bay. Suddenly, the bay doors begin to close. The Realian Pilot looks up to Glenn. "The bay doors are closing. Shall I proceed?"

"Yes, full speed!" Nodding it's acknowledgement, the bio-android grips the controls, pushing them forward, increasing the ship's thruster.

Closing his eyes as the Idola raced past the closing bay doors, he could feel the ship scrape one of the doors, but it got through fine.

The comms flared to life again. "This is Captain Mifuna, of the Heavy Cruiser Goddess Claw. Shuttle Idola, you are not cleared to leave. Power down and prepare to be boarded, or be fired upon."

"Sir. We are being advised by a superior officer to power down. I shall do so, now." The pilot informed Glenn.

Pulling a small, hand-held PDA-like device from his pocket, he switched it on, entering the serial numbers for the two Realians, then grinned as the Realian Control Device kicked in. "Frag that. Get us the hell out of here! Slip as soon as we're able! If they fire at us, engage evasive manuevers."

"Affirmative."

The large, Ring Drive at the end of the Idola hums to life, beginning to glow softly. The nearby Heavy Cruiser called "Goddess Claw" begins to rotate, bringing it's aft cannons to bear on the tiny shuttle...

"ETA... Two minutes to Slip." The Realian Navigator called out, his hands moving inhumanly fast over the command input module, plotting a course for Earth.

A hail of energy bolts rockets from the Goddess Claw, a few slamming into the Idola, but most missing as the shuttle served out of their path.

"What the hell's going on!?" Janis demanded, storming into the Shuttle's cockpit. "Why are we being fired on?! I thought you got us cleared?"

"Look, we'll talk about it later!" Glenn shouted back, grabbing hold of a handle attached to the bulkhead. "Grab onto something! It's going to be rough!"

The Goddess Claw continues to fire upon the Idola, hitting more times then not, causing the shuttle to rock and vibrate massively, until finally the Shuttle's Ring Drives flares to life, creating a small Splipstream bubble around the shuttle, then blinking out of existance all together...

Ultor Corporation VIP Shuttle, Idola.
A few minutes later, Earth's Orbit.

A Slipstream bubble blinks into existance just outside Earth's orbit, the Ultor Corporation VIP Shuttle drifting out of it, lopsided, sparks flying off of various places on the hull. Despite the damage, it still seemed spaceworthy.

"Goddess damn it all Glenn! You nearly got us both killed!" Janis steamed, bashing Glenn with one hand on his head.

"OW! Hey! You're supposed to be a Princess, you know? Anyways, everything's okay. With the Gnufasur situation, they won't come to Earth to look for us, yet."

Letting out a disgusted sigh, Janis storms out of the cockpit.

"Well, that could have went a little better. Realians, next stop. The Shin-Ra Tower!"

Target found. Location... Shin-Ra Tower, Htam, Old Krowemoh, Earth...

The ancient Krowemohian Spy Sattalite network has been inactive ever since the Krowemohians left Earth. More then a few of the orginal spy sattalites's orbits have degraded enough that they fell back to earth, being destroyed in the process. Luckily, 60% of the Network was still in orbit, and more importantly, reactivatable...

Location: Shin-ra Tower,
Htam, Old Krowemoh

The Ultor Corporate VIP Shuttle glided over the desolate cityscape of old Krowemoh. Many, many years of neglect have let the forests of Krowemoh reclaim much of the land that was once massive, sprawling cities.

Both Glenn and Janis stared out the clear viewports, looking in awe of what the Ancient Krowemohians had built. In the center of the city of Htem, stood the over ninety story tall Shin-Ra Tower. While most of the other buildings around it lay in varying stages of ruin, the Tower itself still stood, a testiment to it's arctitect. It was here that the Royal Mew Family had made their home and decision concerning the nation.

The Shuttle circles the Tower twice, attempting to find a spot to land. "Damn. The Heli-Pad is too small for us." Glenn cursed, sighing, "Pilot, find us a clear space to land in the city. We'll walk from there."

"Aye sir." The Realian replied, compling with the order. Diverting from it's course, the Shuttle swept through the city, until it found such a landing space, no more then a few city blocks south from the Tower. Slowly, the Shuttle sets down, a pir of landing struts extended from the nose of the shuttle to balance out against the Ring Drive to the rear of the ship.

The prospect of violent squatters and wild feather-bellied Panthers fresh in his mind, Glenn grabbed a rifle he had managed to snag from the Cori's Gift Armory, then exited the ship, Janis and three Weapons Grade Realians Mk. IIs in tow. "C'mon, we got to get to the Shin-Ra. Keep your guard up. No telling who, or what's, here now."

The gathered group set out from the Shuttle, venturing north towards the towering Shin-Ra Tower. Unknown to them, their movements were being watched...

After a rather uneventful twenty minute walk, the group finds themselves before the Shin-Ra Tower. a hole in the wall surrounding the Tower gave them access to the inner workings of the compound surrounding the Tower. Then they saw it.

Before the Shin-Ra Tower doors lay a mass of skeletons, mostly humans from the looks of them. All appear to have been killed while attempting to enter the Tower. Glenn gulped. "Holy mother of the Goddess... Let's hope the internal Defense systems are inactive now..."

With another gulp, Glenn lead the group to the entrance to the tower...

While they never knew how close they came to sharing the same fate as the human squatters/would-be looters, both Gleen and Janis were glad the automated Defense turrets didn't seem to activate.

As they enter the first floor lobby, they are greeted by the amazing life-like statue of a human woman. Glenn blinks quickly as he recognises the statue. "Hey! That's the Goddess Cori!" He exclaimed, striding to get a closer look.

Janis, on the other hand, recoiled from it. "That's not the Goddess Cori. Look at her face. It's so full of... Rage, and hatred. The Goddess Cori would never look that way."

"Well, if she isn't the Godddess, then who is she?"

"I do not know. I'm not entirely sure I'm right though. If this IS supposed to represent the Goddess Cori, whoever made it had a twisted view on our Goddess." Janis commented, rubbing her shoulders. "It gives me the creeps. Let's move on."

"Indeed. C'mon, let's see if the elevators still work..." Glenn said, moving towards the back of the lobby, where the Elevators were.

Quickly, he thumbed the call button. Nothing happaned. Shaking his head, Glenn turned towards Janis. "No dice. We'll have to take the stairs."

"And umh... How far up is the floor where Yumi's Room is?"

Glenn winced. "Floor 78..."

Janis groaned, then smashed her hand on top of Glenn's head. "I'm going to hit you!"

"OW! Crap, you're not supposed to say it AFTER the fact!" He complianed, rubbing the top of his head. "Anyways, we have a long set of stairs to walk up... And standing here won't get us any closer to the 78th Floor."

Begrudgedly, the group moves to the stairway entry door, Glenn having to pick the lock before they could proceed to take the long walk up...

To be Concluded...

After nearly an hour of seemingly endless stairs, Glenn and Janis find themselves finally on floor 79.

Panting as he grasped the doorhandle, Glenn could barely muster the strength to insert the lockpicks into the lock, yet, somehow, he did, and with a satisfying click, the door swung open, unlocked.

"Here... We are... Finally." He gasped ou, stumbling through the door. The door to the stairway was hidden behind a full sized family Portrait of the Royal Mew Family. Prince Rufus Mew, his twin sister Janus Mew, Janus' daughter Yumi Mew, and Yumi's half sister Chloe Mew. Glenn pointed to Chloe.

"I remember her. When Yumi Mew was assassinated, she tried to claim the Royal Throne. Heh. Rufus the Second wasn't having any of it. A shame she died, though."

"Glenn... All of the Royal Family is dead. This portrait's like what.... 200 years old?" Janis stated, the Realians filing out behind her to cover the lush hallway they had emerged into.

Levels 75 on up to level 80 of the Shin-Ra Tower was dedicated to the Royal Family's living Spaces. Unlike the other levels, these five floors were designed much like a mansion, rather then a Corporate Office. It was as if the mansion was built somewhere else, then placed on top of the 74 other floors of this towering monolith.

The carpet was at one point a lush red color, but time and neglect have dulled the color to a brown.

Stepping forward, Glenn begins his search for Yumi's Room, starting with the first door he came across. He slipped his lockpicks into the lock, and starting using minute hand twitches to manipulate the locking mechenism, then he cursed.

"No good. The locks rusted shut. There's nothing I can do. And I don't want to break my lockpicks by trying to force it..." Glenn said with a sigh.

"Shall I shoot out the lock, sir?" A blonde Weapons Grade Realian Mark II suggested, lowering his rifle at the door.

Glenn anwsered by shaking his head. "Negative. That's just disrespectful."

"And stealing the clothes of Prince Rufus Mew's niece isn't?" Janis countered, smirking as she went ahead of Glenn to try other doors on this level.

Either by pure luck or fate, the first door she tried opened easily, swinging open to reveal a bedroom. Everything was coated with a thin layer of dust, the bed nothing more then a bare matress wrapped in a layer of plastic under dust. "Wow. I think this is it?" Janis said, walking to the closest and carefully opening it. There were no clothes hung up, but inside sat a large ornate metal chest.

Glenn appeared right behind her. "I think this is it. Can you open the chest?" He inquired diligently, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, like a kid in a candy store.

Frowning as she tried to lift the lid to no avail, Janis shook her head. "No, it's locked tighter then a snare drum."

"Alright. Lemme at it." He gingerly moved into Janis' place, working with his lockpicks on the lock.

"Glenn... Where did you learn to do that? That isn't exactly standard Vector Training..." She asked whilest he worked.

Without looking up, Glenn spoke, "It's a long story, and not one I feel particularly inclined to repeat. Some things are best left unsaid. Let's leave it at that, okay?"

Janis nodded, "Okay. Sorry. I didn't mean to offend you."

"Don't worry." The locked popped, and Glenn gave a small trimphent shout. "We got it!" With a pride grin on his face, he threw open the lid, to show a collections of gowns, dresses, and even casual civilian clothes, all packed in vaccum sealed plastic wrap.

"Nice. Here, try this on." He picked up a gown, tearing open the packaging and handing it to Janis.

"Umh. Right here, right now?" She asked, her cheecks burning crimson.

"Well, yeah. I need to see what you look like in the gown, to determine how much effort I'll need to put in to get you to act and pass for a Princess, if only just barely." He replied.

"Okay. Can I have some privacy, at least?"

"Sure. I'll be right outside." Glenn said, leaving the room and closing the door behind him. He turned to one of the three Realians with him. "We're going to be here for a while. I need you to try and find a generator for this building, get it working, and try and see if the elevators can be repaired into working condiction again. Got it?"

"Affirmative, sir." The Realian replied, turning and venturing back to the staircase to descend to the lower levels. Glenn shook his head.

"Damn. Sometimes I wished I was a Realian. Never have to worry about getting tired or nothing."

"Sir?" The remaining two tilted their heads at him.

"Nothing. Jan... I mean Nadia, you ready?"

"Er.... Yeah... I think? Sure, come in..." Came her voice from the other side of the door. Opening it, Glenn took one step in, then put his hand up to his chin, examing the faux Princess in her gown. "Ehhh... Some minor changes need to be made. Like, your shoulders. Don't let them slouch like that. Keep your chin up, just a little bit. You're supposed to be a Princess, so you need to look and walk the part, if we plan to pull this thing off. Hmm, speaking of walking, walk back and forth a few times."

Janis did as told, walking across the room several times, before stopping finally.

To this, Glenn groaned, rubbing his forehead. "Ow. You walk like a Corporate Lawyer."

"Well, maybe that's because I AM a Corporate Lawyer. And who the heck suddenly made you the authority on how Princesses should walk and stand and stuff?"

Glenn shurgged. "Well, lack of competition, for one."

"Well, if I'm the Princess, then I should be able to do and act as I please, right?"

"You're on the right state of mind. Still, Princesses are raised a certain way. And we got less then three weeks to try and get you to pass for a Princess. Oi... And right now, there's some guy, somewhere, delivering newspapers and thinking he's got a lousy job. I'm not even getting paid for this!"

~~~~~~~
[b]Two weeks, four days later...
Dressed in a full formal ball gown, Janis walked elegently down the center stairwell of the Mansion, her chin held high, the product of a royal raising. She took the steps slowly, deliberately, the star of her own imaginary ball.
Down at the foot of the stairs, Glenn slowly clapped. He himself wore the Krowemohian Marine Dress Blues, the beret sitting nicely on top of his neatly groomed brown hair, a pair of brown furred catears sticking out form either side of the beret.
"Perfect. Absolutely perfect. I think we're finally ready. So, Princess Nadia, may I escort you to your royal shuttle?"
"Why yes, Sir Ashcraft. You may." She replied, smiling brightly as the mantle of Princess fell neatly into place.
"Your highness." He said with a bow, taking her by the hand and leading her to the elevator, to take back to the first floor...
