After many, many months of nearly non-stop construction in uncontrolled space near Jupiter's outer-most orbit, the massive Krowemohian Gate Generator was finally up and ready for it's first operation.
The Gate Generator itself was a massive ring, thirteen hundred miles* across and nearly five miles thick. The device is used to create wormholes between itself and simular Gate Generators stationed in Krowemohian controlled space, allowing nearly instantanious travel between any two gates.
The Comm Relay Station, sitatued near the gate, begins to transmit coordanites to the Gate, a 'dialing'* sqenance beginning, as the inner portion of the ring begins to rotate. At first, the rotation is slow, barely noticable to the human eye, but then with increasing velocity it quickens, to the point of becoming a blur. The space in the center of the ring begins to distort, a riff appearing in the center and expanding...

Unnamed Star System, Outer Krowemoh Orbit.
A few thousand kilometers beyond Krowemoh's third moon, sits a Gate Generator, a small defensive fleet of six Battle Cruisers, two carriers, and an assortment of Destroyers waited, as this end of the wormhole formed by Sol's Gate began to take shape.
In theory, the Wormholes were two way. Just as easily as Krowemoh could send a fleet through to the Sol System, an alien fleet from Sol could just as easily come through to Krowemoh. Of course, with 85% of the Krowemohian Space Forces situated in this particular system alone, any such attempt at a hostile incursion would be suicide.
The wormhole finally stablizing, a small Diplomatic detachment begins to journy into the wormhole, a single Diplomatic vessel with two Heavy Cruisers as escort. The three ships pass through the gate...

Sol System, Outer Jupiter Orbit.
... The wormhole stablized, and now the five hundred or so Krowemohians stationed at the Comm Relay Station and it's two Light cruiser escort waited for something to come through.
The tip of the Dipolomatic Vessel appeared, followed by the rest of it's hull, accompanied by the two Heavy Cruisers. Once they were clear of the Wormhole, the gate powers down, closing the wormhole.
A series of transmissions was relayed between the station and the Diplomatic vessel. It proceeded to join the station, it's two Heavy Cruisers parking alonside their two smaller cousins.
Plans for the Greater Prussia/Krowemoh Diplomatic Summit began. Intelligence had to be reviewed, flights to and from Earth chartered, and other such activities planned...
