[semi OOC background: With the downfall of Chairman Isalis Blaugh, the government of Uve_Been_Pwned has fallen to the former commander of the Secret Elite Guard, Ivan Roshikov. Roshikov has announced that he is eliminating any vestige of democracy in Uve_Been_Pwned by abolishing the Senate and the Court. He will make all decisions for the country.
Also, if this turns into a RP, it will be limited only to GE and perhaps some of his allies. Condemnations, etc. would be fine, but otherwise, don't bother.]
"As the new Dreadlord of the Holy Empire of Uve_Been_Pwned, I believe it is time for us to begin to make our presence felt in the international community. To do that, we must begin by opening diplomatic relations with countries we feel are peer countries and will help us to prevent that dastardly scourge of democracy from advancing any further.
"I am announcing a diplomatic mission into the great Generic Empire to serve as the bellwether of our diplomatic program. That country embodies the ideals we have for our great land."

Lord Varus stood in front of the large palace window overlooking the city of Sofia. He twirled his saber about in the air aimlessly as he scanned the horizon. In the distance, the fleets of the despicable SAP coalition waited, and he wished more than anything else to be able to sink that saber into the hearts of his enemies. However, they had not the courage to attempt a landing on the sacred soil of Generia, and so he too would have to wait.
His musings were interrupted by the entrance of a courier, one of the divine Emperor's own. Somewhat annoyed, Varus sheathed his sword and stared at the man. The courier fell prostrate before him.
"Milord, I bring news you will find intriguing."
Varus remained silent, and the courier continued.
"The nation of Uve_Been_Pwned, are you familiar with her?"
Varus exhaled as he scanned his memory for details relating to the obscure land.
"I am familiar with the GIIS report on the nation. She was an unstable backwater, barely worth assimilation into a larger Empire."
"Yes milord, it is apparent that her instability has climaxed, and now the government has been brought down in a coup by a certain Ivan Roshikov."
"And?"
"Lord, Mr. Roshikov has declared his intentions to abolish the democratic system. He has taken steps to remove the legislative and judicial bodies of the government."
Varus smirked.
"Indeed. not a subtle man, is he?"
The courier, unsure of whether to answer the rhetorical question, was awkwardly silent for a moment before continuing.
"Lord, the new government of Mr. Roshikov has made steps to establish diplomatic ties with the Empire. They will wish to send a diplomatic mission."
Varus turned back towards the window.
"Very well. We shall see what they have in mind. If their interests prove similar to our own, we may find a use for them, perhaps as proxy warriors."
Varus continued watching the scene outside for a moment before turning around once more. Realizing that the courier was still there, he affixed an icy stare, and the man exited, bowing repeatedly in an apologetic fashion.

[OOC: Great post GE! Damn, now I have to raise the bar...]
"My liege, we have received word from Lord Varus of Generia," a young aide said as he approached Roshikov.
"What do you have for me?"
"They wish us to send a delegation to them."
"Splendid. Make all preparations."
"But my liege. They are being blockaded by those fools from Sarzonia."
"We have more than just those bastards to contend with," Roshikov sneered. "Those honorless savages from Artitsa and those whiny pricks from Praetonia are also participating. I am well aware of Generia's situation. Make the preparations, including finding a way around that blockade. If you have to fight your way through it, do so." Roshikov fixed a glare at the young aide that was his signal to end all discussion. Once Roshikov made his mind up, his decisions were final. Anyone who opposed him would be shot or severely injured.
"Yes, m' liege," the aide said, bowing meekly and backing away from Roshikov. With the aide assembling the first diplomatic party to depart Pwnian soil, Roshikov considered his country's options. Building arms was a strong suit of the Pawns. So was information technology. They also had a beef based agriculture system that could help feed Generia's families in spite of the stifling blockade the SAP forces were expected to levy on GE. Roshikov knew the country's strength lie in shipping. They had a small navy, to be sure, but they also had an Academy that was the envy of many other countries larger than itself. The army was large and decently well-equipped, though not to the extent of the navy. Roshikov figured that he could possibly send a fleet to puncture the blockade if necessary.
"My liege, we are ready to get underway."
"May the good Lord speed your journey," Roshikov said. His younger brother Stefan was preparing to take off in a jet flanked by Holy Aerial Squadron fighter jets for war-torn Generia City. They would find a damaged Imperial Palace but they also hoped to find a new ally who would help Uve_Been_Pwned elbow its way onto the world stage in a big way.

Official Imperial Dispatch: Incoming Diplomatic Mission
The Imperial Generian Airforce has temporarily authorized the entry of Pwnian diplomatic vessels into Imperial airspace, and will provide an aerial escort in the form of two squadrons of Imperial military aircraft. All Pwnian military aircraft are to break from their escort flight and make landing on the coastal island and military facility of Ntac. They will be permitted to refuel and remain at the airbase until the return of their escortee. We state that any deviation from the flight plan by any parties involved will result in immediate destruction of your aircraft.
---------
As the dipomatic transport was detected entering Imperial airspace, two flights of GIF-101s rose to meet it. In the city of Sofia, Lord Varus was having a secure room prepared beneath the smaller Imperial palace located there.

"You heard them," Stefan said. "Follow that convoy."
Stefan wasn't used to being on a diplomatic mission. As the younger brother of the new Dreadlord, he was more involved with coordinating the affairs of the SEG and working with the generals to build a unit as feared as possible. Diplomacy wasn't something he was used to, so he spent the hours it took to fly from Pwn City to Generia rehearsing what he wanted to say.
The military jets broke off as ordered and streaked toward Ndac. As much as the Pwnian pilots wanted to make their own strafing runs against the SAP ships they saw, they didn't want to take the chance of drawing friendly Generian fire or getting Uve_Been_Pwned into a war it couldn't afford to fight just yet. Besides, there would be a time when Praetonia or their Sarzonian lackeys would be a fair target. This wasn't that time.
The transport plane fell into formation with the GIF-101s that went to meet it and Stefan was jetting toward the landing strip for the second capital, Sofia.
"Why aren't we going to Generia City," an aide asked.
Stefan slashed the young man's back with a whip.
"Read your news," Stefan bellowed. "Generia City was damaged in a Godrod attack by those insolent Sarzonians. Don't you read the news?" The lad couldn't answer as he was writing in pain on the floor of the jet.
"Now get up before you make a mess on the floor."

As the diplomatic mission approached the large International airport just outside of Sofia, the fighter escort broke off and air traffic control came over the radio, ordering the transport to land in a secure section of the airport reserved for the transfer of secure cargo, the landing of diplomatic and military transport vehicles, and other business that was best kept somewhat clandestine.
The aircraft touched down, and came to a halt before a reasonably sized intermediary terminal. Waiting directly on the runway beside the aircraft was an Imperial military convoy and a black limousine.

Doomingslandian Imperial Embassy, Sofia, Generia
Ambassador Marcus Crassus had just gotten off the phone with Lord Varus. Apparently a diplomatic guest interested in forming an alliance with Generia had slipped past the blockade and was landing in Sofia. Crassus had been invited to attend the meeting with this envoy (well, what Crassus thought was an envoy) and establish relations. Afterall, a friend of Generia was a friend of Doomingsland. And so, he stepped out into the frigid air, wearing a black trench coat over his suit, escorted by two embassy marines, and stepped over to a waiting limo.

Stefan nodded his head at the delegation waiting for him and his attaché, then ducked into the limousine as it waited. As the door closed and the car sped through the streets of Sofia on its way to the rendevous point, he began to look through his notes.
The Holy Pawn Army was horribly underfunded and had outdated equipment, while the air force was largely non-existent. Meanwhile, the Navy was the only branch that actually had capable officers and shipbuilding was one of the few industries that Pawns excelled in compared to the Generians they hoped to soon call their friends and allies.
His communications device beeped. He looked and saw it was Ivan.
"Yes, m'liege?"
"Have you begun the talks?"
"Not yet. We're on the way to the meeting place."
"Ah, splendid. Let me know how it goes."
"Yes, m'liege."
Stefan looked out the window as a feeling of nervousness came over him. He still didn't understand why Ivan sent him here to be a diplomat rather than stay home to train his men to be an elite killing machine. Perhaps he could learn a thing or two about Imperial Praetorians while he was here. That alone might be worth the trip. And if he actually succeeded in opening diplomatic channels with Generic Empire and perhaps some of her allies, the trip would be an historic one in the eyes of the Pawns.
