An Attempted Diplomacy [Closed RP: United Empires and The Organization]

Mythila

Lord Misas Itaru gazed upon the upcoming capital buildings, the massive centres that ruled over the Empire of Narlington. The towering buildings intimidated him, he was willing to admit. Something about the whole place was off, as if it were somehow a prison, isolated from the rest of the world. It was like a construction of some gruesome fantasy... and he would be inside in but a few fleeting moments.

He brushed back his short black hair nervously, wondering why he had accepted a mission into such dangerous territory. His beautiful wife, Julie, had not wanted him to go, nor had his daughter, Cassandra. He thought of their faces now, thinking back to times that had passed him by so quickly, him being in the government. He had never got to see his daughter grow because of his career in politics, and now she was already a teenager, with a distinct personality of her own. He smiled briefly, recollecting the few precious moments he had managed to savour. What had he done for his wife last Valentine's Day? He couldn't recall.

The armed Mythilan guard behind him stopped as he approached the doors to the great, looming complex, and they saluted. The travelling orchestra began playing the Mythilan anthem, "Justice and Freedom", with all their hearts. The music soothed his nerves, and he allowed himself a moment's respite.

His dark eyes darted to the door as he nodded to the Narlington guard.

"I've come to see Emperor Melear." He said calmly, holding back his inner emotions. Ever since Narlington had traded Mythila those faulty weapons, they had been preparing for this moment - Narlington had to be stopped. They were attempting to break apart The Organization, and were selling merchandise that had killed over 100 good soldiers. With a sigh, he resigned himself to the fact that he'd have to go through with these negotiations, for the good of Mythila and The Organization as a whole.

Salazar Sassoon stepped out onto his balcony and starred out at his country. It was a small, but powerful nation with good intentions. But when Nitrony's Ally Mythila said there was friction between Narlington and the Organization, How could he refuse to fight?
He then took a trip to the department of national defence, and told them to prepare for the worst. If Nitrony was to fight in a war, Nitrony was going win it.

:sniper: War shortly began between these two countries which caused much pain and frustration :headbang: . So they shot at eachother :mp5:, which suprised the nations of what had once been peaceful. This caused much pain to the citizens so they revolted. In the German speaking land of Syncrilnorn, the country's elections had just been completed four weeks prior; it's results left Herr Chancellor Gunther Ravenhoff in with another four year term.

He, and his Higharchy, were situated in the Capitol Building (known as the Haupt Gebäude) in the nation's capitol of Zugzetenpeke. It was a very large concrete and marble building with massive pillars in the front that held up a triangular front roof. The Gebäude was several hundred metres long and had massive courtyard in front of its main entrance. Citizens sat here to relax and picnic, as in a national park. Inside, unknown to the public, a council session was in place.

All of the ministers and representatives sat at their designated locations in the
Gebäude's Discussion Chamber. Here, the inside was made with lavish and expensive wood from Syncrilnorn's eastern forests, and large marble pillars. Ravenhoff sat in the centre at a large table with other supreme ministers.

The Ministry of Foreign Intelligence had gathered information concerning mounting tension between a somewhat distant nation called Narlington and the neighbouring Empire of Mythila and her allied counterparts.

"Chancellor," Heydrich Stutgart (Misister of Foreign Intelligence) began, standing up. He fixed his glasses holding them with his right hand by the frames and held the MFI's stapled paper report in his left. "Our ambassador to Narlington contacted us this morning. He is concerned for our distant aquaintence. Apparently, the corrupt government there is losing their grasp on its citizens and is frequently arresting 'suspicious looking' people on the streets; literally at gun-point.
"The Empire of Mythila, is growing tired of Narlington's disregard for morals and public safety." Stutgart sipped his water he had on the wooden table. "Our intelligence based in Mythila have gathered that they, and possibly their allies, are preparing for conquest in an attempt to overthrow the Sid Melear Government."

The Discussion Chamber rose to a loud chatter among the ministers.

"Order!" Ravenhoff pounded his table with the hammer. "Continue, please, Mr. Stutgart."

"Yes, thank you, Chancellor." He nodded and rubbed his knuckles. "Both nations have been stocking up arms for some time, the MFI has information that Mythila and Narlington are 'talking', I'll use that term lightly," the chamber echoed some laughter. "About ways to avoid conflict, however, I think we all know what is ahead."

Ravenhoff nodded, a war at such a time would be good for his economy. However, Syncrilnorn, was indeed a small nation, in all ways. However, their Arms Manufacturing was great and if war broke out, pressure from neighbouring nations would most likely try to persuade Syncrilnorn in weapons trade.

The Minister of Internal Affairs Johann Hoch stood up. "Chancellor, might I ask, what is our position going to be on this matter?"

Ravenhoff narrowed his eyes in thought. "Well, I believe, that our greatest interest here is to stay out of conflict."

"Yes, you see, if our trade is altered, our economy would crumble. Unless, of course, we trade arms en masse." Trade Minister Hans Gruber spoke up.

"Tricky, no doubt." Said Ravenhoff. "What we must do is delay this war for as long as possible. We discreetly send some diplomats to both nations to talk as long as we can. Then, here at home, we spread propaganda stating that this is not our war to fight and thus stay out of it, we'll have support of the people."

"What of Mythila's allies?" Hoch addressed.

"Nothing of them. They are too pathetic to think anything of us. Nor can they do anything. They are followers, nothing more. There is no way any of their allies can, or even would, go anywhere in force without the leadership of Mythila." Stutgart explained, bluntly.

"Alright. Settled." Ravenhoff said, standing. "Heydrich Stuttgart, you and a small diplomatic party will go for the Empire of Mythila. Send your deputy to Narlington. Keep it quiet, if the public gets wind of this, we're through. And, uh, let's make sure that neither Mythila or Narlington knows that we are in both places at the same time."

"Oh boy...." Hoch said under his breath. He wasn't sure he liked where this was going.

The Discussion closed with an all-round 'Hail Ravenoff', and the ministers filed out.

Salazar Sassoon decided to see if he could arrange a meeting with The lord of Mythila and the rest of the organization. He sent out telegrams to each Nation, Arranging they all meet at The Department of Defence, in the capital of Nitrony. The message wrote:

"To the Organization, It is clear that we all stand on the brink of war with Narlington. I propose we all meet and discuss the situation thoroughly.
I've arranged a meeting between the organization at the Department of National Defence, at Nitrony's capitol. Please attend within the next week.

High Lord Sassoon of Nitrony."

And with that, Sassoon looked over Narlington's records. He read the Nation had it's "problems" that Mythila wanted taken care of.
He then went to his headquarters, do find some more information about Narlington.

Mythila

A solemn breeze gusted across the empire of Mythila as the sun began to conceal itself behind the distant mountains. From a high balcony overlooking Horizon Bay, the High Lord Zenithan smiled. He was doing the best he could to stop this environment from being destroyed, but now it was obvious that the council had other plans; namely, uranium.

Brushing back his straight black hair, he let out a sigh. He had worked so hard to build the country up from the ground, and now, so many factors could bring it down. Deforestation was now a problem, they were on the verge of war with Narlington, and taxes were rising, mainly because of military and educational spending.

His deep green eyes glanced across the pink and orange sky, taking in as much of it as he could. Being in politics was indeed stressful, but it had its rewards. To see a nation grow and prosper under one's hand was almost like fathering a child and watching it grow into a responsible adult.

At his side, his carried his trademark - his sword. As the ruler of the realm, he sported a vastly different clothing style than many of his subordinates. It consisted of a dark, buttoned shirt, with an officer-style collar, black, aristocratic pants, and tall, dangerous-looking boots, into which his pants were tucked. What differentiated this from all the other outfits, however, was the silken cloak that billowed out behind him, engraved with spun silver. Together, this outfit gave him a great presence, and a look of power. After all, half of diplomacy was the first impression.

"My lord?" came from behind him. He turned slowly, surveying the messenger behind him before softening his features. He extended his hand to receive the telegram that the messenger held. As soon as he felt it in his hand, he said,

"Thank you. You may go home now. The sun is setting-" he motioned behind him dramatically, "and I'm sure your family would enjoy having their father home for once." He smiled. "Good night."

The messenger nodded to him with a smile, and rushed off into through the elegant corridors of Dawn Horizon castle as Zenithan broke the Nitrony official seal on the telegram, then unfolded it.

To The Organization,

It is clear that we all stand on the brink of war with Narlington. I propose we all meet and discuss the situation thoroughly. I've arranged a meeting between the organization at the Department of National Defence, at Nitrony's capitol. Please attend within the next week.

High Lord Sassoon of Nitrony.

"Well, isn't that interesting," he mused. "Somehow, he thinks that Mythila will be able to spare their leader during such troubled times." He strode inside the castle, stopping near a small panel, where he pushed a red button down.

"This is High Lord Zenithan. It looks like High Lord Sassoon is exercising his right to have an inflated ego. Janus is going to have to take over as leader for a couple of days. Meanwhile, I need a regiment of the Mythilan guard to accompany me to Nitrony's Department of Nation Defense."

"Yes, my lord. Your wish is my command." came the reply from the intercom.

"Excellent. I'll speak with you in a few days, then, Terent."

"Have a safe journey, my lord."

"How many times have I told you the formalities aren't necessary?" He grinned. "Ah, I suppose it can't be helped. Goodbye, Terent."

"Goodbye, milor- uh, Zenithan." The intercom replied before going blank.

***

The High Lord Zenithan watched Nitrony's capital roll by as his armoured limousine headed towards the Department of Defense. He couldn't help but wonder if his allies could be trusted. For all he knew, this visit to Nitrony could be a death trap. He still couldn't believe the nerve that the High Lord of Nitrony had, but he had gotten over it. What must be done must be done.

Abruptly, the shining black limousine pulled to a stop. He saw the Mythilan guard form two straight lines that created a path between his limousine's door and the entrance to the Department of Defense. As he stepped out onto the pavement, his black boots tapping gently against the cement, the best trained orchestra in Mythila broke out in an amazing version of the anthem, "Justice and Freedom". He couldn't help but feel goosebumps travel up his skin at the familiar sound in such a distant place.

He walked among the soldier-made path, nodding to each man and woman in turn. His face lit up in a smile as he turned to wave at them, and the crowd of Nitrans that were forming behind his car, drawn by the music, but entranced by the political figure they saw before them.

He stopped by the doors, gazing at one of the guards, and said in his coldest voice, "This is High Lord Zenithan. I've come as your leader asked." He said this with the slightest trace of sarcasm that went unnoticed to all but himself.

"Greetings to all of you. I've called this meeting for a breif discussion on our roles, and for us to know each other abit better. We're fighting a war together, so we should know each other." He said.

"Afew more leaders are still to arrive, so the meeting will not begin just yet."

"Once all the nation leaders arrive, We'll figure out how." He said. Looking at a building close by with the Nitrony flag on the top.

"I wish to see that flag (pointing at it) over Narlington." He said with a smile.

He stepped back inside. He went to one of his guards in the doorway. They both stood at attention. Get some food down here, I'm sure they'll be hungry when the arrive.

And with that, Sassoon headed back to the board room with the breifcase in hand.

((OOC: How do you survive an explosion if it happens right next to you?!))

The guard had admitted him easily, though it wasn't as though he had had any choice in the matter. If one failed to obey the High Lord of Mythila, they knew the consequences. At least, that's what he had the media circulate among politicians. The citizens were fed the truth of the matter - he would stop at nothing to protect the freedom of his people and his allies.

He was not very impressed with most of the Institute of Defense, but it was obvious that it was very well used. He didn't know if he liked that. A nation that was constantly preparing its defense couldn't be trustworthy because of its paranoia. If they suspected anything, they wouldn't hesistate to strike you down...

Eventually, he found his way into the main council chamber. It was the first thing he'd seen that day that was actually a sight to behold. A glistening, black table took up the majority of the room, and comfortable chairs lined its edges. It looked like something out of a movie about secret agents.

"Impressive." He said, to no one in particular. He ran his gloved hand along the edge of the table, wondering what would take place in this very room in but a few hours. He hummed "Justice and Freedom" to himself as he did a complete patrol around the room, then stopped at last. He settled himself into a seat at the head of the table, and waited to see if any more leaders would be stupid enough to obey Nitrony's slightest whims.

Heydrich Stutgart walked quickly down the long marbe corridor to the main entrance of the Gebäude. He wore a long black trench-coat that was opened at the neck, revealing his white collared shirt and black tie. His shiny black briefcase was in his right hand. What was in it was what his MFI (Ministry of Foreign Intelligence and the Syncrilnorn Higharchy. There was a change of plans. Now, apparently, the meeting between the minds was to be in the capitol of Nitrony and Chancellor Ravenhoff re-directed him there.

Stutgart exited through the main doors of the Haupte Gebäude and walked down the high, and soaking wet, stairway. He opened his black umbrella. It looked to be 7pm, however it was only 2:30pm. The thick clouds and heavy rains darkened the land. The rain bounced off the concrete walkway in front of the capitol building. Even on the grass, rain could be seen boucing on the muddy parts.

The press was outside waiting for Stutgart, and his small team of ministers and representatives.

"Herr Stutgart! Wo mochten Sie hingehen?!?!" They demanded, shoving lights and microphones around him.

"Entschuldigung, ich habe nicht der zeit im Augenblick." Stutgart replied, as he continued walking through the rain.

He stepped into his limo that was waiting by the busy street that went right by the capitol building. An armed guard in a black dress uniform opened the back door for him. The street was jammed with cars, trucks, vans, people just on their way in day to day life. The limo drove off, along with two others with the other representatives.

About fifteen minutes later, the limo arrived at Flughafen Eins, the capitol's international airport. Stutgart waited for his door to opened by the armed guard. When the door opened, conveniently, and umbrella was already waiting for him - opened and all. "Vielen dank." Stutgart smiled at the guard.

"Kein problem." He nodded back.

The representatives entered the airport and found their charter plane boarding area. It wasn't long until the plane was up in the air and on its way.

The flight wasn't a long one, compared to previous flights by Stutgart, only 5 huors; roughly.

To Stutgart's and the representative's delight, a limo convoy of 3 was waiting outside the plane. The stairs unfolded from the door and was met by minimal amounts of press members.

"Herr Stutgart! Was ist der zweck mit diese?"

"Kein Anmerkung." Stutgart waved.

The limo drove off the runway and found a road. This drive wasn't very long at all. Stutgart looked out his tinted window. This country wasn't exactly very... attractive or 'promising' to him. It was hot out here, and sunny. Syncrilnorn is one more of wet and crisp, always a cloud in the sky, and the average temperature in summer was near 15C.

Stutgart put his glasses on when Nitrony bored him. It was, afterall a Psychotic Dictatorship with mad and twisted laws. Stutgart had never directly associated with Nitrony, but, nevertheless, he hated the place and everything it stood for. One day.... He thought.
He opened his briefcase and reviewed what he was going to say and what his agenda was, along with his nation's ideals.

When the limo stopped and his door opened, he had already close his briefcase and kept his black long-coat and hat on. His glasses were also put away. An orchestra played his country's anthem, he wasn't sure whether t paranoid or not. Most here were English speaking, Stutgart on the other hand, was only capable of the basics. His tongue be one of German, difficult for the others to quite understand him. His accent was a thick one, but understandable.

He walked inside, emotionless, and was led to the chamber where the leaders were to meet. His group sat down and waited for things to begin.

Stutgart noticed how pale and blockish his people were compared to the others. He couldn't help to wonder why.

OOC: Do not bother waiting up for Ticki Tacki he said that he had nothing to add here plus he has been rather busy lets just pretend he got there and says pretty much nothing.

Emperor Icmoigigan sat in one of the many offices in his mansion listening to music and reading up on local events, as well as seeing to some paper work, some morons had actually wanted him to ban the Harry Potter books, it looked like he would need to perform a few new executions. There was a knock on his door "Enter" said Emperor Icmoigigan.

"Sir" said a nervous looking guard who had opened the door "A message has arrived from Nitrony, they wish you to go meet them" the guard finished looking like he was praying for his life.

"Very well" sighed Emperor Icmoigigan, "but the country is to be in an effective political stasis while I am gone, no decisions can be made while I am gone and if anything comes up just try and stall the system"

"Yes sir" said the guard saluting.

"Very well have a helicopter and escorts prepared I will be leaving within a half hour." Ordered the Emperor.

"As you wish sir,” Said the guard leaving.

Emperor Icmoigigan got up and headed to the helicopter bay taking some documents to do on the way and scooping up his iPod.

As Emperor Icmoigigans helicopter arrived the escorts dispersed enough for the main helicopter to make a comfortable landing. Emperor Icmoigigan got out of the helicopter flanked by a handful of guards and aids, he signaled for the guards to stay behind as a gesture of trust for his allies and let the aids come in, there was no point leaving them behind.

Emperor Icmoigigan strolled past Nitrony military and guards without a second glance and entered the building.

“Sorry about my tardiness my men were most likely busy working up the courage to tell me of the message” said Emperor Icmoigigan, “They were however a little lax on details” said Icmoigigan to nobody in particular “So can somebody please tell me why I had to put my nation in political stasis and we could not simply have a video conference?” He finished waiting for a reply.

Zenithan sat, leaning back in his chair as the other leaders and representatives began to arrive. He tapped his black leather gloves against the sleek material of the table, drumming a tune that was lost in the uproar of general speech. He found their babble fairly annoying, as it distracted him from more important things, like the diplomacy with Narlington. His diplomat had not sent any word as of yet.

He still managed to keep his posture straight despite his boredom. He didn't know why Nitrony had called the meeting in the first place. Did they feel threatened by the possibility of war? Such a thing was inevitable in the world as they knew it. Without major reform, war would be a necessary, but brutal, part of life.

He saw Minister Stutgart approach, his trench coat billowing as he walked, and his concealed tuxedo catching fragments of light. Zenithan raised his arm in greeting, then motioned to the seat beside him. He smiled slightly, but not extravagantly.

“Herr Stutgart, wie haben Sie getan?” he said, using German instead of English. He hadn’t mastered German, but he was still fairly fluent in it, capable of at least holding a conversation. He nodded. “Auch... was denken Sie an diese Sitzung? Wird Nitrony gerechtfertigt, wenn man uns bildet, kommen hier auf eine Laune?”

Out of respect, Stutgart decided to speak in English to his counterpart. "Ja, how long have you been sitting hier waiting for diese to commence? I have some things that I need to address." Stutgart looked at his watch, noting it had been already fifteen minutes. Plus, the heat was getting to him and so was the absense of even a greeting from Sassoon or his government, when he was supposedly the host.

Sassoon... doesn't seem incredibly well organized, does he? He calls a meeting, yet isn't prepared to greet us... It's been forty-five minutes since I sat down."

He noted Emperor Icmoigigan's entrance. The man was a cold-hearted dictator who wasn't afraid to do anything he wanted. Zenithan didn't know why he was in The Organization, but he was a powerful ally to have nonetheless.

He spoke quietly, but enough to get his point across. "Gentlemen," He began, his accent apparent. "I am Heydrich Stutgart, Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Dominion of Syncrilnorn. I understand that the purpose of this meeting is one to discuss the fate of Narlington. I for one, do not take the idea of conquering them, as a good one. It would be as if we were playing God, deciding their future and not even inviting a representative of their government to take place in it.
"What I mean to say is that if any of you wish to conquer or invade Narlington, Syncrilnorn is between you, and our doors are shut to any hostile force moving into Narlington's Empire. Also, it would be a blow to some of our economies. Many of us have our own issues withing our own borders, why should you worry about what goes on in a foreign land that makes no apparent threat for conquest and jeopardize your security?" Stutgart cleared his throat. "Syncrilnorn does not wish to anyone's enemy, I hope that our view does not create any harsh feelings towards us. But we think that a war over how someone else governs their land, somewhat... barbaric. We want to help the angered nations and Narlington work things out, without bloodshed. However, still, Syncrilnorn will have absolutely no part in this war that will aid one nation over another. Thank you." Stutgart sat down.

The chamber echoed slightly with chatter. "Sehr gut, Herr Stutgart." One of his party members tapped him from behind and leaned forward, over the back of Stutgart's seat with a smile.

"Ja, danke." Stutgart smiled back.

The High Lord nodded his welcome to President Taylor before turning to Emperor Sassoon, who had just entered an incoherent speech about Nitrony's war readiness and hospitality. He raised his eyebrows, showing publically that he disagreed with the little speech. After Minister Stutgart had finished, he cleared his throat loudly.

"Yes... I have something to add, on top of what the Minister has just finished saying. I agree with his standpoint. As you know, I am the High Lord of Mythila, the current representative of the Organization to the United Nations. What I'd like to ask is... What makes you think we're preparing for war?" He stood up, his cloak fluttering down behind him, giving him a look both majestic and threatening. "Is it your custom to constantly live in fear, surrounding yourself with terror? I've seen your citizens, Emperor. They can barely conceal their excitement when other leaders arrive. Why might that be?" He didn't pause to allow the Emperor to speak. "Could it be because they don't respect you? I think you have a few issues to work out internally before you EVER think about going into a battle. For one, morale. How are your people going to act in battle if they have no great love of their country?"

Then, he paused, making sure the silence in the room was absolute. Amazingly, he continued, in the same awe-inspiring voice, having captivated the entire chamber's attention. A slight smile crossed his features as he turned his glinting green eyes upon the Emperor, a challenge contained within them. He moved his hand through the air dramatically, savouring the moment.

"You see, Emperor, I think you should be a little more worried about the inside of your country than the outside. Even with Mythila's newest weapons, such as the Z9 Machine Gun, the Advanced Battle Rifle Mark IV, and even Behemoth tanks, I doubt your military could stand up to the test of war. Such a thing is the ultimate test of a nation's unity and prowess - it builds character, one might say. Destruction is not always the assumed course, however. Sometimes, diplomacy can gain much, much more."

He took a deep breath, then finished, "So how about you tell us why exactly you've gathered us here?" He took his seat, leaning back and staring across the table to Emperor Sassoon, as if daring him to reply. He tapped a gloved finger on the shining table, causing a resounding sound throughout the silent room.

Stutgart's eyes drew wide and his eyebrows raised. He grabbed his file from the desk and rumaged through its pages. What his 'contacts' in Mythila had reported from Mythila was that Lord Zenithan was planning conquest leading downfall of the Narlington govenment. Perhaps no one knew of this?

Stutgart looked at Zenithan with a suspicious glance as he tapped his leather glove on the table. This can't be.... He thought, returning to the paper. The document specifically reported that that plans and strategies were in progress for annhilation of Narlington. What Zenithan had just said contradicted the report.

Stutgart looked around at everyone else in the chamber, they all looked as if they didn't know of this. All that it looked like to them was that Zenithan agreed with him. Stutgart had a sudden wave of paranoia and worry overtake him. He could feel his face draw white and pale, well more-so than usual.

He grabbed a pen from his pocket that bore the Sycrilnorn Cross of Power and his notepad from his pocket inside his coat. He wrote, in brief, that the reports were either faulty or that Lord Zenithan had other plans.... If, however, the report was faulty, it would be the first time since the MFI was created - almost 20 years ago.

Again, Stutgart, looked over at Zenithan, who seemed quite calm and official. This isn't good, Stutgart thought. He turned to one of his party members. He motioned with his finger for him to lean close. Stutgart whispered "Beginne Klebebandrecorden diese, bitte."

"Jawohl." He nodded. The representative reached into his shoulderbag and pushed 'record' without exposing it.

This should be extremely interesting. Stutgart thought as he crossed his hands on the table in front of him.

Emperor Sassoon starred long and hard at The emperor who just insulted him. He wondered if he should instantly order a guard to kill him immediatly, but that would only prove his point.
"I see your point." He said calmly, "Nitrony is merely preparing for the worst, and I'm sorry if it seems like I want war, but I'm only preparing for the worst. AND, perhaps it would not be best for you to insult my country, when your sitting right in the middle of it!" Sassoon was starting to realize how insulting Mythila's leader could be.
"I'm only helping you Mythila. So relax." he said lowering his voice.
"We're all friends here, Don't change that." He said starring back at The emperor of Mythila. Who was starting to relax.
"I called this meeting to try and un-cover the events that Narlington has done that make it in question. THAT, is why I called this meeting." He said looking at The Mythilain ruler.
"And also" he said to Zenithan, "My people don't hate me, they follow me.
So think next time before you confront me."
The emperor, was about to say something when Sassoon put out his hand and cut him off.
"If I may finish, Nitrony battles for peace, It's our first priority, just like anyone else's, but we all have different ways of accomplishing it. If Narlington has a problem, we should resolve it in a civilized way. Agreed?"
Sassoon looked over the other leaders.
"Does anyone have anything to add?" Sassoon looked around. "Oh, and no insults please. We've had too many already." He said looking at The Mythilain ruler a third time.

High Lord Zenithan could hardly contain his amusement. His statement had had exactly the effect he had wanted it to have - the Nitran leader had become defensive and had taken his criticism harshly, responding with veiled threats and mixed meanings. To test his theory, he tried to speak, and was quickly silenced by the Emperor, exactly as planned.

He twirled his fingers in an invisible whirlwind in the air. It seemed as if the council was an invisible wire that he had tied around his revolving fingers. He smiled as the Emperor continued to debate his speech. He thought of an appropriate response, and held it for a while. His eyes gleamed dangerously, a dark tone overcoming the usual green as he assumed a serious expression. A hand poised just over his cloak, making him look battle-ready, though it was really mostly for effect.

"I thought this was a meeting, not a speech. The Organization is not a one nation show, and I thought some constructive criticism might help your nation prosper." He shrugged slightly. "Obviously, I was mistaken..." he trailed off.

"Prepare for war, then. But when billions of dollars go into a defense that may never matter, people start to get worried... namely your citizens." He shook his head slightly, as if showing disapproval. He lowered his voice, though still allowing even the furthest to hear. "You don't have to be liked to be followed." He smiled slightly.

"On a lighter note, what is it you wish to know about the Narlington situation? We plan to be as civil as possible throughout the negotiations." This, he addressed to the entire chamber.

Sassoon tried not to order a killing right then and there. The 2 Nitran guards behind him were also getting angry at Zenithans tone.
"If you have anything to say, by all means say it. This is a meeting, not a speech. Perhaps, High Lord, I could offer you Nitrony's finest pre-school were you could learn some respect. I do not appreciate argueing with someone, who will not listen to me." he said. His temper rising.
"Nitrony is a fine country, and they say the same for there leader. Also, your critisism is not welcome. Perhaps you could go to your homeland and practise in the mirror some more. We do not want it here. As I was saying, does anyone else have a problem with Narlington? or is it just this one?" he said pointing at the Mythilain ruler.
"I don't want to argue with you anymore great Leader. Nitrony and Mythila can make fine allies, do you want it that way? or not? The Nitrans find our defence just as important as anything else. Our schools are good, and we barely have any crimes. Don't you think that we deserve peace? Don't we all?
Nitrony cares for it's safety. That's why we take it so seriously." He said.
Sassoon pressed a small button infront of his seat. A moment later, a waiter walked in.

"You signaled my presence sir?" he said.

"Yes. Could you bring me a drink please?"

"Ofcourse sir. Usual I presume?"

"Yes." Sassoon looked at the others. "Anyone else like a drink?"

"Interesting." The High Lord said, beginning to circle the room like a hawk, making sure he was heard throughout the chamber. He continued striding around the table, pausing every once in a while at a certain leader or a diplomat. "Have I been anything but civil throughout this entire meeting? I haven't said anything meant directly to offend. As you want to govern alone, I will respect your wish."

It was obvious that this was not the end, though. He waved to a Nitran guard, his expression a mix of calm and cunning. He leaned forward just over the shining council table, placing both his hands on its flat surface. "You speak of respect, and then you imply that I belong in a preschool? I, for one, like to stand by my statements, not contradict them. If I had no respect, I would have already given up on this conversation."

He lifted his hands off the table, then began to move again, making his way towards the Emperor of Nitrony. "I'm sure this table could serve as a fine mirror." He gazed into his glimmering reflection, then backed away again. "Seems to me like I don't really need any practice. You and your guards-" he motioned to the guards behind the Emperor, "-seem to be on the verge of shooting me on the spot."

He had finally made his way all the way across the table to where the Emperor was. With a smile, he continued in a level voice, "I think you should know that I don't pick fights just for sport. Narlington is a serious threat to my nation. In fact, their faulty weapons delivery has already killed several of our soldiers, and their government threatens an influence that is not beneficial to my citizens. I know this," he explained, "because I asked them."

His lips stretched into a smile as the waiter offered him a drink. "I won't be having anything right now. Thank you for offering." He reached into his pocket and withdrew a black leather wallet, then took out a ten zen bill. Its smooth surface glinted in the light of the room as he handed it to the waiter. "A little tip for your services. The exchange rate is pretty good, from what I know."

He swirled around to face the table again, the smile fading. "Peace is indeed our mutual objective. I just thought having a fully prepared army wasn't exactly effective in bringing peace, except by force." He let out a long, exasperated sigh. "However, I did say I would not advise you on these matters... so I shall not." By this time, he had made his way along the other end of the table and arrived back at his seat. He nodded respectfully toward the room in general, then lowered himself into his chair.

Stutgart rubbed his chin and forhead with a stressed frusteration. These to 'leaders' were arguing over why the meeting was called, and insulting eachother, in a governmental conference between 'friends'. It was madness.

At least Stutgart had a clue as to what was going on. He knew that Zenithan had a corrupt and twisted plan about the fate of distant Narlington. Stutagrt didn't like how Zenithan covered it up either. Fortunaltely, Stutgart was the only one in the entire room that knew of this. Probably Sassoon as well, but he wasn't relying on that, it made no difference either way. The MFI had undercover contacts planted as minute representatives in a few governments in The Organization who informed Syncrilnorn of threatening or suspicious happenings.

Stutgart had proof that Zenithan planned to invade, and here he was covering his ass in an attempt to look good. When, actually, his arragancy was really starting to annoy him.

"I think you should know that I don't pick fights just for sport. Narlington is a serious threat to my nation. In fact, their faulty weapons delivery has already killed several of our soldiers, and their government threatens an influence that is not beneficial to my citizens. I know this," Zenithan explained, "because I asked them."

A light turned on in Stutgart's head. He just caught Zenithan in his own created loophole. Out of respect, Stutgart waited for Zenithan to sit down, and shut-up.

A few moments later, he did. After giving a guard a tip for services. Stutgart rolled his eyes. However, Zenithan was extremely intelligent and good at his game. This gave Zenithan a lot of respect from Stutgart. He stood up quickly.
"Aha!!!" He shouted. "You have just contradicted yourself, Mr. Zenithan. Earlier," he opened his notepad he was using to take notes with and found the page he was looking for. "you said that you had no intention of war with Narlington. However, right now, you say that 'Narlington is a serious threat to my nation.' and that you 'don't pick fights for sport.' and I quote. Thus, implying and completing my theory that you and your allies want war with them. You can't deny that." Stutgart said, now lowering his voice. "So, what I want to know is what you said earlier, at the beginning of this meeting, was a lie slash cover up story or whatever. Because, what you just said, does not match with what you said then." Stutgart siped his water. "And another thing: there is no need - NO NEED - for these useless mind games with one another. It is being dis-respectfull, that goes for the both of you. Emperor Sassoon, and you Mr. Zenithan. If we could all, please, just speak respectfully and sanely?" Stutgart sat back down and rubbed his forehead with the back of his hand.

"Sehr gut." A part member from behind said.

"Ah, halt ihre Schnauze." Stutgart said, disgusted.

James listened to the bickering going on in the room. He couldn't stand it. Everyone so big on there egos. He was handed a Note.

NRLINGTON FORCES MOVING TOWARDS WALBOTH, INTENTIONS FOR NITRONY - ADVISE DEFCON 1

Everyone in the room noticed the note, and James' face didnt leave much to the imagination. He stood up and walked behind his chair.

"Gentlemen, i have just recieved this note-" He held it up, "-It states that Narlington Army is moving towards My country, which shares a border with them, Sychalthia, and this great nation of Nitrony. I don't intend to let them through, and the minute they cross my border, I intend to stop them in their tracks. I have authorized my Nation to go to DEFCON One."

James paused and put the note on the table. "They are obivously threatend by some of you, us. They do not know about my Nation's admittence into The Organization, so my guess is that they believe we would show sympathy for them. They thought wrong. What do you suppoe we do?"

Zenithan waited for Minister Stutgart to finish his observations, a smile apparent on his face. It didn't flicker for even a minute. After Stutgart had finished, he raised a hand, palm forward, and replied.

"I'm afraid you've got me wrong, Minister. Just because I recognize them as a threat does not mean that I intend to go to war. In fact, I have a diplomat at the capital of Narlington this very moment, trying to clear up the issue of the faulty weapons and the hostility my citizens feel for them. The simplest way to deal with a threat is to use diplomacy and intelligence to avoid conflict. Not all threats must be crushed in the lethal grasp of war. What would my nation - no, the Organization - stand to gain from a war with Narlington? Mounds of the dead, and potentially billions of dollars in debt."

He drummed a small beat on the table, gazing briefly around the room, then resting his eyes on Minister Stutgart. "I must applaud you for your observation, though. One who keeps his mind open tends to gain much wisdom over his life. As for respect, however, it is difficult to give where none is received." He looked pointedly at Emperor Sassoon. "Any further objections?"

He suddenly noted the change of expression on the president of Walboth's face, and turned toward him with interest. In his hand, he clutched a note. Recognition flooded Zenithan's awareness. He quickly became serious, and stood up.

After the President's declaration, he said, "Nitrony is your country, Emperor Sassoon. What is your opinion on the situation?"

Stutgart felt like snapping at everyone. He felt like saying 'I rest my case' when Zenithan pointedly glanced at Sassoon, however, he decided against it.

Instead, he just shook his head and looked tiredly into his hands, that covered his eyes. Why was this so difficult.

"Gentlemen, I have just recieved this note-" He held it up, "-It states that Narlington Army is moving towards My country, which shares a border with them, Sychalthia, and this great nation of Nitrony. President James Taylor told everyone.

"Mein Gott...." Stutgart said quiet enough for no one else to hear. "It must be a hoax, President. You see, there are apparently diplomats there now. Although we haven't heard from them in a few days." Stutgart stood up. "If this is true, President Taylor, this may be bad. My nation of Syncrilnorn and yours are the only two countries in the region that border Narlington. Narlington's east is all ocean. We box them in." Stutgart was now becoming nervous, and slightly concerned. If Narlington moved in their troops for invasion, Stutgart's plans would fail.

"Gentlemen, we must clarify this message. For, the rest of this meeting might depend on it." Stutgart said gently, and quietly.

Sassoon thought long and hard about Narlington's attemp for Nitrony. Surely, Narlington's emperor could not've thought it through, for it was not a very smart plan. Not very smart at all. Nitrony was strong enough, but with Walbothen and Mythila and the others, It seemed more like a suicide mission.
"If he wants war, I say give him one." Sassoon paused. He thought of what to say next.
"So, this note claims that Narlington wants Nitrony, but will invade Walbothen before hand correct? well, I know against Walbothen alone they will not stand a chance."
Then, Sassoon decided to offer Walbothen a hand.
"Lord of Walbothen, This is Nitrony's war aswell, so if at any point, if you need aid, your allied country of Nitrony will not hesitate to assist."
Sassoon looked over the others.
"This is why this meeting was called. To decide the situation. It is nearing dark, So might I suggest getting some rest?" He said as he noticed the sun setting through the window that over-looks Nitrony's capital.
"You have all been invited to spend the night in Nitrony's biggest Mansion, that I know you'll all find comfortable. Your drivers have all recieved the locations of the Mansion. We can continue this tomorrow." Sassoon said as he held his hand to the door.
"Lord Zenithan," he said as he was about to leave. "This meeting seemed to bring out the worst in us. The last thing I wanted was an arguement like that. As the Emperor of Nitrony, I apologize." Sassoon held out his hand for a handshake.
"Lord of Walbothen," He said after shaking Zenithan's hand, "If you are concerned for your country, you and I could stay and discuss a defence, or continue tomorrow. It's your choice.."

Stutgart shook his head in disbelief. There was no army. There wasn't anything. The only possible explanation for this is that Narlington was constructing itself a dummy army. A dummy army is basically an artificial force placed strategically to look real to enemy planes or satelites.

Because, Narlington, had not even spoke to anyone yet. Plus, the Syncrilnorn MFI contacts had reported nothing.

"Gentlemen," Stutgart said standing up again. "You are all being fooled. There is no enemy force moving in, I guarentee it. It is impossible. Now, I am not going to tell you how I know this - that is confidential. But I do advise you to trust me on this one." Stugart started to button up his black trench coat, and fix his tie. "I also know that Lord Zenithan knows what I am talking about. And, please, trust what I am saying. For your better. All I advise for all everyone in this room is to observe what Narlington is doing. What Narlington wants is for us to get on the defensive, so he can have an excuse to want to wage war when the U.N. gets involved. He'll say something like: 'A good defense is a good offense' and that he was only weakening a force that would 'eventually attack him'. So, highly recomend that no one creates a ramble of this or builds any obvious or huge defenses, it is what Narlington wants."

Stugart put his black fedora on with his right hand and placed his glasses back into their case before hiding them in his coat pocket. "I'll pass on your invitation Mr. Sassoon." He smiled at the leaders. "Thank you everyone, good day." He nodded to everyone. His party all stood and left the chamber for their limos. On the way out, a party member handed Zenithan a telegram.

The plane landed back at Flughafen Eins 3 hours later, back in Syncrilnorn outside Zugzetenpeke, the nation's capital. As Stutgart got off the plane, it was dark foggy and about 11pm. The tarmac smelled of fresh wet rain. Stutgart watched baggage cars drive around to and from other parked planes. Their orange lights lit up the fog, looking like a fireball flew up through the aire with each flash.

A guard opened his black Sedan's back door for him and closed it when he sat down and was inside. Stutagrt smiled at him. "Danke,"

The car pulled away a few seconds later. "Wo fahren?" The driver asked through the rearview mirror.

"Der Gebäude, bitte schön." Stutgart replied. He had to drop his notes and information off for tommorow's 10am Higharchy Conference. Plus, he had to get someone to edit and prep the tape recording made in Nitrony for the conference as well. This conference was planned for the public to know and some citizens, with a designated invitation from The Government, could attend and spectate the meeting.

When he finally finished all this, and arrived home in Secht; an outskirt of Zugzetenpeke, it was nearly 1am. He walked inside the front door and heard only the refridgerator from the kitchen and the snoring of the dog in the lving room. This was all to common for Stutgart; he didn't like getting home late. The hours that he had to work were excrutiatingly un-predictable. He was lucky to have a wife that genuinely loved him and not just used him for the money. Most women would have ditched him years ago, but not this one.

He sighed as he hung his coat on the rack and kicked his shoes onto the mat. He un-did his top collar and loosened his tie before heading up to bed, where his beautifull wife lay silently asleep. 'Wow' he thought and smiled at her.

Stutgart walked into the bathroom and cleansed up. He noticed that his hair was going more grey and tried to convinvce himself that it wasn't day-to-day stress. Who was he trying to kid?

He undressed and climbed into bed, next to his wife and lay awake for an hour before finally falling into a dark, and dreamless sleep.

Zenithan had not said a word as he left the council - he considered his business done. He had no reason at all to stay in Nitrony, and the closed telegram he held in his hand intrigued him. The leather seats of the limo glistened in the light cast by the setting sun as Nitrony's capital began to move by him. He wouldn't inform Emperor Sassoon that he was leaving - he could find out in the morning.

Slowly, he opened the mysterious telegram. What could the Minister have passed to him that could be of importance? He suspected it had something to do with the situation between Narlington and Mythila, though the meeting seemed to have revealed a little too much that made a little too little sense. He had to agree that the 'army' Walbothen appeared to have detected could not truly be real. It contradicted all of the intelligence that Mythila had gathered over the past while on Narlington.

A dummy army... it was indeed an intriguing idea. To lure opponents into a withdrawn, defensive state to cause a political uprising was a very advanced tactic, but it was the only one that could apply. As soon as he arrived at Mythila, he'd have to alert his son to the situation. That way, Janus would get some people onto it.

Finally, he opened the telegram and scanned its contents thoroughly. In a moment, his mind was made up. He'd have to go to Syncrilnorn and discuss matters more deeply. At the moment, it was rather hard to gather anything from the web of lies and truths that had been scattered over the meeting in Nitrony. Even his well-aimed talk hadn't seemed to have the effect he had wanted. Now, battle would be an even worse idea than ever. Either Narlington had a plan, or intelligence had lost quality.

Zenithan rose from the bed silently, not wanting to disturb Sylwyn, who still lay upon the comfortable mattress of the luxurious bed. A life of politics was not the easiest path in the world, but there was a certain glory in having control of a nation. It put one forth into the spotlight, giving them a chance to shine. It meant that one had less time to spend with family... He stroked his wife's cheek, then headed for a shower.

A leader's actions were those that defined a nation - their standing within the world, their lifestyles, their choices... It all rested on the leaders of society, whether they realized it or not. Such decisions... did anyone really have the right to make them? Perhaps, without leadership, humanity would crumble; but on the other hand...

Could his actions be having a detrimental effect on his people? What if they were slowly eating away at the realm of Mythila, melting it away so secretively that neither the powerful nor the weak could see it? He sighed as he stepped out of the shower and quickly dried.

Wars were started by power. In power, people saw salvation. Through power, humanity was corrupted. It was an endless cycle. In the end, survival lead to corruption, and corruption lead to destruction. It seemed to be humanity's nature - perhaps time would rectify that. Only time would tell.

Finally, he stepped outside of his chambers, ready for what the day would bring. A smiling servant handed him a telegram, which he opened hastily and read.

The mobile weapons are running at 97% efficiency.

Finally, some good news! A smile spread across his face as he lit the telegram on fire and tossed it out the open window. He watched the flames coil across it, devouring, conquering. Once consumed, the ashes were quickly scattered by the winds.

With the mobile weapons, he could easily defend himself without drawing the UN's attention... These weapons were exactly what he needed to defend his nation. With them, many great things would be possible.

Since he had spoken with Janus about stepping up intelligence the night before, he was clear to head to Syncrilnorn and discuss the matter of Narlington. He wasn't sure exactly what their government had planned, but he hoped that it would help resolve the situation.

***

Several hours later, after a private jet trip and a limousine ride, he had arrived with a handful of party members at the entrance to the Haupt Gebäude. He paused by the guard, lifting up Mythila's offical seal.

"I'm expected." He said emotionlessly.

OOC:

Just to let you all know, that I do not play only as one character when I post. It will probably be some time before you hear anything major from Stutgart again. I switch from character to character in my Government. This is just a heads up so no one gets too confused.... Also, I am not going to make my people speak just in German in text, easier for you guys. Just imagine that they are. Now for the actual post : )

"So, the propaganda is going over well?" Ravenhoff inquired. He placed the document on the table in front of him.

"Ja, Kanzler." Hoch switched positions in his chair in fron of Ravenhoff's desk. His office was a large one that overlooked the sea from a corner of the Gebäude. Two large Syncrilnorn flags stood majestically behind Ravenhoff on either side of the big window. There was a file cabinet, paintings and maps on the walls; along with some family photos and plaques that Ravenhoff had gained over the years. "Yes, we plan to air a video later on today that speaks of the threat to our country and that defending our land from the world through usage of a strong military force is among our top priorities."

Ravenhoff nodded. "And you're certain that the people will accept this?"

Hoch laughed. "Chancellor, the citizens are extremely patriotic. They love their land. If we tell them that there is a threat to us, which isn't exactly a lie, and that we need to have a strong military for defence purposes; they'll believe us."

"True enough...." Ravenhoff sipped his coffee. "Narlington is getting under my skin. And, the fact that the other nations in the region actually believe that they are preparing to attack us first is... mind-boggling."

"Yes, it is."

Ravenhoff's buzzer beeped. He pushed the button built into his table. "Ja, was ist das?"

"Mein Führer, Heydrich Stutgart ist hier." The seceratry replied.

"Vielen dank, sinden Sie in." A few moments later, the door opened and in came Stutgart. "Heil." he said.

"Heil, please sit down." Ravenhoff motioned for the empty chair next to Hoch. He did so. "So, I reviewed your information from Nitrony. Very peculiar, wouldn't you agree."

"Yes, Chancellor. I am growing very suspicious of everything. As you can see, especialy Mythila." Stutgart said sternly.

Ravenhoff nodded in agreement. "I want as much intelligence as you can get on them. I also want a report on that Zenithan. I want to know him inside and out. I really didn't like the way the intelligence reported that he was the one that led and inspired the whole war on Narlington ideal, and how he went back on it at Nitrony."

"I noticed that too, Chancellor." Stutgart said pointing from next to his head.

"Yes, he is coming today with some of his people, we better get to the chamber." Ravenhoff said standing up.

The Syncrilnorn Higharchy was situated at their positions in the Council Chamber, getting ready for the big meeting. When Zenithan arrived, Ravenhoff was told and he went to meet him, with Stutgart.

"Welkommen auf Syncrilnorn, Herr Zenithan!" Ravenhoff greeted, and offered a handshake. Stugart nodded to him. "Please, if you'll follow me," Ravenhoff motioned down the long marble corrdior. When they arrived back in the chamber, Zenithan was directed to his area.

Ravenhoff sat at the head chair between both sides of the chamber. "Welcome, Herr Zenithan. We invite you here today to discuss what is going on between the rest of the region and Narlington. Apparently, you agree with our nation and have no intention on war with them at all?"

OOC: I am thinking of making a "nation profile" forum on the off-site forums. That way, all the information we need on a nation's layout, policies, economy, etc. will all be available in one place. Also, the post "Diversions and Puppet Strings" was done at Syncrilnorn's house, so I accidently posted under his account.

IC:
It was not long before two people emerged from the Gebäude. One, he recognized immediately as Stutgart. The other, his intelligence had told him, was Chancellor Ravenhoff, the one who seemed to be in charge of most of the goings-on in Syncrilnorn.

"Welkommen auf Syncrilnorn, Herr Zenithan!" Ravenhoff said, extending his hand. Zenithan nodded and took the hand firmly. "Please, if you'll follow me." Ravenhoff said, motioning down an elegant marble corridor. After some walking, they arrived in a large chamber where many people were seated. He took it to be Syncrilnorn's council chamber, a place of great power within the nation. He nodded respectfully as he entered and motioned his companions inside after him.

He took a favourable seat and gazed attentively over the room, as if sizing it up. Ravenhoff, meanwhile, had taken a large seat in the between the sides of the chamber.

"Welcome, Herr Zenithan. We invite you here today to discuss what is going on between the rest of the region and Narlington. Apparently, you agree with our nation and have no intention on war with them at all?"

Zenithan straightened out his cloak and tucked it behind the back of his chair. He turned towards the Chancellor, his black hair straight and glistening. A glimpse of expression passed over his face, then returned to indifference.

"That's right. Why make war when it will gain you nothing at all? I believe that Narlington has been planning this all along, and if I attack, I give them the advantage, as they are in their own territory. Tactical problems aside, they are still a threat, but not one requiring the use of force to calm. Why, have you heard otherwise? I am not a warmonger, Chancellor." He smiled. "So yes, I agree with your stance on the issue."
Icmoigigan

Emperor Icmoigigan had sat through the meeting with little interest, whether there was war or not he was happy unlike what some of these others seemed to think he did not consider Narlington a threat, they were around the same size but unlike Narlington the Empire of Icmoigigan had good allies. Icmoigigan was little impressed with the childish squabbles and nonsense that had taken place, that German speaking diplomat who he could not be bothered to remember the name of had been quite annoying although Lord Zenithan had seemed alright as had the Emperor of Nitrony even if he had wasted all of their time.

Emperor Icmoigigan left without really taking part I the meeting since it had little impact on him. He got in the helicopter thinking that he would need to find someone he could trust to go to these time wasters in his place so that he could do stuff of importance.

OCC: My nation is choosing to not take place in these meetings, if there is a war that the majority of the Organization supports than the Empire of Icmoigigan will join in but seeing as how I do not care either way going to a "debate" is useless.
BTW: Zenithan that nations profile idea sounds good.

Emperor Sassoon watched everyone leave the room. As he did, he wondered if he should've called the meeting. It seemed as though all it did, was make friction between the Organization.
He then stepped out a second time on to the balcony, and over-looked his nations capital. As he stepped out on the edge, he looked down to see the Nitran soldiers, who were guarding the department of defence. He wondered weather what Zenithan said was true. Was Nitrony rushing into a pointless war? The people didn't think so. They thought If its a threat, eliminate it.
But, if they had known what Zenithan had said at the meeting, They would not've been pleased.
He knew some leaders would not even come back tommorrow, but that didn't bother him. He figured the only one he really needed to talk to, was Walbothen. He thought weather or not if the threat was real or not. He thought for while.

After awhile of outlooking his country, he went back inside and headed for ground level. Once there, he headed to his armoured car and headed for his own mansion, which was were his family was.

"Well, Herr Zenithan," Ravehoff said, "You see, yes, I do think otherwise in a sense...." He cleared his throat. "According to you a few days ago, you wanted war with Narlington to eliminate the 'threat'. However, yesterday in Nitrony you said that you agree with us. I like that second thought of yours. The first seems a waste of time in my mind, and also many people in this room."

Ravenhoff paused for a moment. "I think that Mythila and Syncrilnorn can be great allies - great figureheads for the entire region. If you can swear to us that you are on our side regarding Narlington, I am willing to let you in on something...." Ravenhoff was handed a piece of paper. It was a contract. "Care to read it?" He asked as he gave it to a guard who brought it over to Zenithan.

It was a contract that ensured Syncrilnorn of trust and content relations with Mythila. No hostilities. Just one of 'good relations'.

"I stated no such thing," Zenithan said. "Perhaps I was misinterpreted by one of your agents? I do agree, however. A war with Narlington is something that neither time nor money would agree with." He smiled, his eyes never wavering.

"I don't see why not. We are both great and powerful nations, holding much influence within the Organization. Such an alliance would not bode well for any who wish to see the Organization fall, and it would serve as a good example to the other nations within the region."

He scanned the contract lengthily, assuring that there were no terms that he disagreed with. After a few moments, he signed it with a shining, black pen bearing the insignia of Mythila that he had procured from his trousers' pocket. He then proceeded to pass it to the most important of his party members, who also read and signed the contract, nodding their heads to show that they had no disagreement with it.

"Everything seems to be in order." He said, handing the contract back to the guard. "I read that this alliance also brings information. I am willing to comply with that term, as well as the others. Now, what is it that you wanted to tell me?" He smiled.
Syncrilnorn

In central Syncrilnorn, sits its largest city - Schwanstein. Schwanstein is smack in the middle of Syncrilnorn's Industrial Sector. Here, items are massed produced for trade and distribution. Anything from, computers or pharmeceuticals - to toys and plastics. Among other things....

Schwanstein is renouned for Greenpeace demonstrations and environnemental demonstrations due to its massive industrialization. Towards the outskirts of the city the country's first widespread nuclear powerplant is being constructed due to a newly found uranium mine in a thick forest to the north. This plant will provide nuclear power to entire nation, in about three to five years. This is also a complaint to Greenpeace activists, the government tends to ignore them though; because they don't understand, or rather don't want to understand, that nuclear power is the most efficient and environnementally friendly power source that exists to date - up there with hydrogen.

Towards the south east of the city, however, there are factories that are producing new weapons for the Government. This includes the Schlachtträger Mark VI tank that fires a .95mm shell (a new revolutionary shell size for tanks), the Truppetransport II jeep, and some new upgraded infantry weapons like the AR 2 (a newer version of the automatic rifle that fires small exploding .10mm shells), PAS 2 (a shotgun that is more localized on its target and less spray, it fires a .15 mm shell) and the LV2 (a newer and stronger model of teh standard issue pistol. Also, the anti-tank shoulder-launched SZM .85 mm shell.

Syncrilnorn's scientists are the top of their game and they are highly skilled and obsessed with perfection. In Sycrilnorn, there is no space for an imperfect item, that goes for food to weapons and everything in-between.

Shortly enough, there would be enough of these new revolutionary that would replace the older models, currently in use. The Scientists, eagerly awaited the final few weapons to finish completion. "Unsere Nachbarn sind innen für einen Schlag." The chief scientist said to his counterpart next to him with a small chuckle. They looked below on the new Schlachtträger Mark VIs that were being constructed, prod of their work.

The chief scientist put his hands into his white coat's pocket and smiled as he rubbed his nose.

Ravenhoff smiled. "I hoped that you would sign that, it is for the better." Now that the contract was signed, he could show Zenithan - his most trusted ally - his plans and new weaponry. "Verteidigungminister, wenn Sie wurden, bitte."

The Defence Minister, Rudolph Speer, stood up and walked to the centre of the chamber. He turned on the laptop that sat on the table. It was hooked up to giant projector that sat on the main table, between both sections of the chamber.

"Herr Zenithan," Speer focused his attention on him. "Our scientists are currently working on a series of new and formidable weopons that reach new revolutions in the world of combat." He smiled. "I do think that you will find them most impressive. If you could just turn your eyes to the projection on the wall, I'll get started." He smiled.

As the chamber prepared its attention, Speer opened powerpoint and asked for the lights to be dimmed. Once the room was all quiet, he began.

Once it begun, the first slide was a picture of a tank and its statistics and specifications. "This is the Schlachtträger Mark VI. It has a gunnery range of 10 kilometres, on a clear day. It fires an armour piercing shell of .95mm which is highly explosive. It contains a hydrogen compound which allows it to cause more damage and a more powerfull explosion. The Mark VI has a diesel engine, however, but it is muffled down to practically no noise due to a sound-proof wall that surrounds the engine casing. When on a full tank, it can travel about 200km without refuling.
Mounted in the turret and on the main body of the tank, there is a machine gun that fires .25mm shells at a rate of 30 per second. The machine gun in the main body fires shells that explode on impact, caused by traditional gun powder; this allows for a devestating impact on infantry and light vehicles. The one in the turret fires .25mm shells, but fires the traditional ammunition."

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/Schmidt99/still_08.jpg

He moved onto the next slide, which was of a jeep. "This is the Truppetransport II. Although this one is not equipped with a turret on the back, it can be in combat situations. It houses a 360 degree rotation and can fire about 100 rounds a second, and contains .20mm rounds that also explode on impact with gunpoweder. It accomodates 7 troops, which isn't that impressive. We do have another model that cannot have a mounted turret on the back and it can accomodate 14-16 troops or be used as a cargo transport. We have about 4 main main models which can be integrated into different situations."

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/Schmidt99/warthog_concepts.jpg

Speer moved onto the next model. "This aircraft is called the 'Himmelvogel'. It is an aircraft designed for troop or cargo transport, however, it is still on the drawing board."

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/Schmidt99/still_06.jpg

"That is all, for now, that we have on vehicles. What is next are infantry combat weapons." Speer sipped his water and went onto the next slide. "This is the AR 2. It has a .10mm exploding round, it's an automatic weapon that has a clip of 80 rounds and a scope for single shot mode, which can be used with nightvision. And this sniper rifle, which is a bolt action rifle with a 15.mm explosive shell."

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/Schmidt99/battle_rifle_front.jpg
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/Schmidt99/S2_AM_SR.jpg

"This is the SCNF 1. It is a single hand weapon that has a round of .12mm and has a clip of 60 rounds." Speer explained. "Any questions thus far, Herr Zenithan?"

Zenithan was quite impressed with Syncrilnorn's presentation - they seemed to have their weapons well-planned. In the event of battle, they would certainly be a dependable ally. With the three mobile weapon prototypes almost completed, Mythila would soon be able to join in the arms race.

"I have no questions. In fact, you seem to have your military line-up very well organized." He stopped, looking over the projection again. The design was indeed impressive, though he was certain the mobile weapons, though much more expensive, would be extremely efficient at their jobs, as well.

Speer smiled. "I am happy that you are impressed with our work, Herr Zenithan. We shall keep you informed of our work, also."

He motioned to his side, and one of his party members handed him a DVD-ROM. He stood up, then quickly inserted the disk into the projector. He paused dramatically, and then said,

"We also have been developing weapons... but not of the kind you'd expect. In order to be a superior in war, you must develop the newest technology... an edge over your opponents, if you will."

On the wall, a humanoid figure appeared, armed with a large sub-machine gun, two shoulder-mounted missile launchers, and heavy armour. It was coloured in a forest green, camouflage-type design, and stood imposingly against the wall.

"This," Zenithan said, "is a mobile suit. You might think of it as a one-man tank, a fully capable computer system helping the pilot guide it from the inside. This 'cockpit' is located in the chest of the mobile suit. As you can see, it is armed with an AP machine gun, a prototype model. This model differs from the Z9 machine gun. For instance," he brought up a new screen, "this is the size of a human." A small figure appeared on the projection. "This is the size of the mobile suit." Another figure, slightly less than five times larger than the human, emerged.

Unfazed, he continued, "This version of the machine gun fires armour-piercing rounds that explode once they have entered their target. This weapon is designed to penetrate tank and building armour, but is overkill against infantry."

"The AP missile launchers atop its shoulders follow the same general design - they pierce armour, except with more, but more expensive, force. Ammo for this type of weapon is extremely limited, but they must not be underestimated."

"Finally, the machine houses several Z9 machine guns on its body, to facilitate the destruction of infantry forces. These guns are located on the chest, the head, and also on the wrists. Ammo is stored inside of the mobile suit."

"Any questions so far?" He asked.
Syncrilnorn
15-03-2005, 02:41
Speer stood up. "Yes, I do." He paused and thought carefully how to word what he wanted to say. "I think that your 'mobile suits' are a grand ideal, however, irrational. What I mean to say is, that, with something that big comes transportation issues, fuel problems, maneuverability, ect. That weapon would be very difficult to integrate into an urban environnement. You see, I like your idea, I just can't put it together in my head." Speer stopped and thought again for a second. "So, would you use that thing only for infantry and armour support? That's the only instance is could be put into use."

Stutgart spoke up also. He was most displeased with how Zenithan said that 'In order to be a superior in war, you must find the newest technology'. He took it that Zenithan was implying that Syncrilnorn wasn't advanced in the world of military. "Excuse me, Herr Zenithan; Herr Speer, if you could just wait for a second..."

Speer sighed, he didn't care for that Stutgart. That much was ever so apparent.

"I will have you know that Syncrilnorn has one of the most advanced armies in the world, if not the finest! Every single weapon that was just showed to you
is real and not in the prototype stage. They are out there, waiting to be delivered to bases all over the nation. Our scientists invented the exploding rifle shell, aslo. How did you get a hold of that with your 'mobile suits'?" Stutgart sneered across the room at Zenithan. His rage and offended self was obvious to anyone in the chamber.

"Herr Stutgart, please, sit down. Contain yourself." Ravenhoff sternly ordered. Stutgart looked at Ravenhoff angrily and then back at Zenithan before sitting down. "Thank you. Now, Herr Zenithan, please."

((The "five times the size of the human" was supposed to read "three times the size of the human" due to a miscalculation in my head at 2:32 AM when I was creating that post. I will compensate IC...))

Zenithan raised an eyebrow at Stutgart as he ranted. He wondered what he could have done to provoke such a thing. It wasn't as if he had insulted Syncrilnorn in any way... he was merely explaining Mythila's reasoning for developing the mobile weapons. He decided that Stutgart's actions warranted no response, as they were too uncivil for his tastes.

"Excuse me," he smiled, changing the slide, "as you can see, that was our original design. Our scientists had intimidation on their mind, as well as invasionary tactics with no care for the damage they were causing. This error was quickly corrected, as you can see." The newer slide showed a significantly smaller machine, a bit less than three times the size of a human. "This is the model the prototypes we have are based on, so urban combat isn't so much of a difficulty."

"As these machines have legs, they are capable of sitting down, compacting themselves to a smaller size. As such, we are able to fit a few into specially-designed transports, be they on the ground or in the air. They are also capable of moving themselves at great speeds, due to their legs, rather than wheels. The computer is capable of estimating the best way to navigate the terrain around it, though a highly trained pilot is still required."

He smiled, switching the slide to a picture of what looked to be a large battery. "These machines run on a hydrogen fuel cell, with a hydraulic system serving as a coolant. These cells run on a radical new technology that allows far greater charges to be contained within them, giving them a long life. They may be refuelled easily, as well." He paused, as if thinking of something.

"The hydraulics in the armour also act to relieve pressure throughout the machine, so that the armour is incredibly difficult to penetrate. It would take quite a few high-powered missles to disable one of these machines. The downside to this is that these machines are expensive to produce because of the advanced components."

"We are also working on a new kind of power source for the mobile weapon, which will not be ready for quite a while. This power source is called the micro-fusion cell, and contains a miniature nuclear fusion reaction within it, thus offering near-unlimited power to the mobile suit. This is only in the planning stages, however. We do not know if it would work in a realistic situation."

"Very intriguing weapons indeed," Speer commented.

Stutgart shook his head. "Impractical." He didn't like mech-type units for combat. Easily knocked out, one good blow to a knee joint or leg, or a step on a mine or shock from a blast would be enough to disable it.

Ravenhoff stood. "Well, I think we all understand eachother's positions today." He smiled and folded his hands by his waist. "Unless anyone else has anything to say, I think that we can call this closed."

Speer stood up and walked over to his laptop on the table in the centre of the chamber and closed the program. He wondered slightly whether or not it was a good idea to show Mythila their weapon plans. He, and much of the government, were against it.

Ravenhoff wasn't exactly liked in his house.

"I suppose a practical test would have to be made before you to truly prove their effectiveness. Even I was skeptical when my scientists first presented the idea of a mobile battle suit to me. I will forgive your lack of faith. It is totally understandable." His emerald eyes, sharp and raven-like, gazed across the room. They were overly hostile... and there seemed to be a great deal of strife within the government. Hmm hmm.

"Let us hope that this... practical test... will be made before you, and not at you... For I respect my alliances... and I hope you do the same." He nodded, his dark hair shining in the light of the chamber. "This has been a most enlightening meeting, Herr Ravenhoff. I expect much cooperation between our glorious nations in the future. If you are in need of us, simply send us a telegram." He smiled a smile that could have been sincere or sarcastic.

"Come," he motioned to the members of the Antiochian Party, "It is time we returned to the people of Mythila." Within seconds, he had parted, his cloak fluttering behind him elegantly.

Once outside, he quickly made his way to his limousine, tapping on the driver's window. "Has anyone approached the vehicle?" He asked.

"No, sir." replied the driver diligently. He gave a nod of his head to the High Lord. "We've had guards around it. No one could have planted any sort of bug on it."

"Good job, Mr. Arail. I expected no less from you." Zenithan smiled and his eyes glinted sincerely. He turned his head to the head of the guards that surrounded the car, extending a gloved hand to the air.

"Have you scanned for bugs, wire taps... listening devices of any kind?" He asked quietly.

"Yes, sir. None are present on you, your party, or any of your things." The man replied with a salute.

"Very well, then. Let us take our leave." He replied, then entered the limousine. Something was wrong... very wrong... with the government of Syncrilnorn. He'd have to get some people on the matter immediately... or else the results could be devastating to the entire nation of Mythila.
Syncrilnorn

Outside the Gebäude, and in the Dominion of Syncrilnorn, it was raining again. It had been minutes after Zenithan had left. It was time for the meeting.

The meeting, was code-named 'Iron Curtain'. It was arranged by Stutgart and some others in the government. Stutgart was a greedy and ecsentric man, with radical ideals. He didn't like Ravenhoff. He didn't like much.

Ravenhoff stood from his seat in the Chamber of the Higharchy. He grabbed his briefcase and put on his black trenchcoat and gloves. Many followed his lead and ministers and such began to file out. Ravenhoff was the first to exit the Chamber, the large, heavy, wooden doors that allowed access to the room were opened by two guards in their dress uniforms. Ravenhoff was in his late fifties, and was known for his conservative views and wanting to help everyone out.

He walked down the marble corridors of the Gebäude and towards its lobby, where the media awaited him. His black dress shoes clacked as he walked on the majestic floor. He smiled occasionally at governmental employees whom he passed. He turned the corner and he was engulfed in light.

"Herr Ravenhoff, was warst du schlect in der mit Sie?" The reporters moved in with their camera and tape recorders.

"You know what to do. I am counting on you." Stutgart said seriously and quietly into a man's ear. He spoke with him for several minutes.

Speer was replacing his things into a bag on the centre table. He glanced up at Stutgart a few times suspiciously. He knew something was up. Speer observed in silence and zippered up his bag, then swung it over his shoulder and sighed. Speer walked out past Stutgart and the man he was talking to, pausing to listen.

Stutgart cut him off and stepped in front of him. "Don't you crack. Don't you say a damned thing."

Speer's heart jumped. "I'm sorry, I just-"

Stutgart grabbed Speer by the scruff of his collared white dress shirt. "It's for the better, you know this!" He shouted, but quietly and intimidatingly.

Speer coughed, terrified. He pushed himself away from the Forgein Affais minister and flashed him a dirty look. "I don't have to agree with it."

"You know Stutgart's right." Hoch said from behind Stutgart, looking casualy as he prepared to leave.

Speer looked away and stepped away from them and coninued on his way out of the chamber. He navigated himself through the corridors. Stutgart's insanity could only reach so far. Speer was a good man at heart. He was loyal to his leader, unlike many in the government. Stutgart wanted Ravenhoff dead, and so it would be done.

Stutgart claimed that the Freuen, native to western Syncrilnorn, were a drain on society, holding the country back. All of the activists were from there, majorities of them anyway, they all are afraid of technology and an expanding world - he says. The Freuen also contain and have ownership of many big businessed in the larger cities of Syncrilnorn. Stutgart, thought them all of barbaric culture and minimal intelligence. They were also known to own many companies in Mythila - a country that Stutgart hated with all of his soul.
Stugart wanted them all dead and Ravenhoff would never allow such a thing to happen, for he loved his country and everything in it. Ravenhoff would be killed within the next five minutes.

Speer continued down the hall towards the lobby. He looked up at the Syncrilnorn flag that was hung from the ceiling. He started to water in his eyes as he noticed the man that Stutgart was talking to in black up ahead.

The man pushed through the people in the corridor and swifltly cut between barriers and personel.

"Entschuldigung, Sie. Hier ist verböten, du bist kann nict kommen in hier!" A guard called when the man cut through a secured barrier complete with metal detectors and x-ray systems near the entrance to the Chamber of the Higharchy. The guard promptly walked through after him, with a mind-set to stop the man. "Halt!"

The man turned round and almost unoticed, he pulled out an Uzi 9mm and drilled it into the unsuspecting guard. A fine spray of dark red blood shot from the guard as he fell to the ground. The shots echoed through the halls. People dove for cover, Speer just stood frozen and horrified as he saw the guard lay bleeding on the marble floor.

The man then shot randomly at the security guards who were still at the security barrier, killing each of them within seconds after the first one was shot. "Nenne eine Krankenwagon!" Some woman yelled.

The man then ran to the lobby, his gun still drawn. Ravenhoff was still talking on to the reporters. Lights shined from cameras and microphones hung from above his head.

Speer looked down at the guards dead on the floor, frozen in fear. The corrdor was silent, aside from sobbing from women and some man on a telephone to the hospital. The blood crept closer and spread out further on the marble floor.

This wasn't what Syncrilnorn was. Syncrilnorn is a patriotic and high place in the world's standings. He couldn't allow Ravenhoff to die. Never. Speer suddenly began running in the direction that the man ran. He didn't stop. He kept on, his coat flailing behind him and shoes clacking the floor as he ran. He had o adjust his glasses a few times as they slid down his nose.

The man arrived in the lobby only thirty seconds later and found the crowd of people around Ravenhoff. He smiled cruely and pushed his way through. Speer arrived a few seconds later, noticing the people being pushed. He ran towards them.

"Danke fur ihren Zeit. Auf Wiedersehen Syncrilnorn." Ravenhoff smiled at the cameras and started to walk slowly to the doors.

The man in black continued his struggle. As soon as he even gained a glimpse of Ravenhoff, he shouted. "Fur eine frei land!" He squeezed the trigger once it was pointed at Ravenhoff's back. He shook with the bullets impacting into his back. The distinctive red splattered throught the place, on the glass, the tiles, the walls. Ravenhoff collapsed in a heap just before he reached the glass set of doors to the outside.

Everyone backed away and dove for cover. Speer yelled out in agony and dropped his briefcase. The man turned once he was satisfied with his kill. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his walkie-talkie. "The traitor is dead." The man explained. He put the walkie-talkie back away and looked Speer in the eyes and smiled.

Speer stood there teared up and emotionaly wrecked as he stared back.

The man raised his gun to his own head and shot, spraying bone fragments and insides askew. He instantly fell into a head on the floor.

Speer stood and fell to his knees and sobbed.

Outside, on the grounds in front of the Haupte Gebäude, a child ran in cirlces mimicking the sound of a ambulances racing down the street towards the country's capital.

"This is the Channel Eight News, at Six. I'm Helmut Gathen. Now, for our top story." The newscaster turned to face camera two as the music stopped. Syncrilnorn's Channel Eight News at Six was the most watched newscast in all the nation. The newscaster was a tall, slim, and older man with an emotionless face and pale skin. He wore a lavish blue suit with light blue dress shirt and shiny, dark blue tie. He spoke with a monotoned voice.

"Today, a great shock smacked us all in the face. Recently elected benovolent Chancellor Gunther Ravenhoff, of fifty-eight years old, was brutally shot to death in the Haupte Gebäude directly after a meeting with Lord Zenithan of Mythila. Reasons are unknown as to why this happened, or who is behind the killing; authorities are investigating that now." Gathen turned back to camera one. "The killer was known to have called out this, and I quote: 'For a free land.', before the assasination occured and then, quote: 'The traitor is dead.' into a walkie talkie before taking his own life." He truned back to camera two. "Ravenhoff was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officials. It is expected that Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heydrich Stutgart, will assume power. We are now going to turn over to his speech from the Gebäude now,"

The screen flashed to Stutgart, already in progress of of his speech.

The screen flashed to Stutgart, already in progress of of his speech.

"There was a lot that Ravenhoff hasn't told us." Stutgart explained. "He was a traitor to us, and our ancestors. Ravenhoff was going to support our largest enemy." He smiled eerily for a moment. "Not Mythila, but they live among us, all around us. They run many of our businesses, they run many anti-Syncrilnorn groups. Yes, the Freuen, my friends. I speak of the Freuen." Stutgart nodded. "The very people who slaughtered our ancestors back when we first arrived here and gave them all a better quality of life, a new beginning. They used it against us and killed us ruthlessly.
"There is evidence of this even today; Chief K'Tek, from our Southern Province, once led a group into the city of Acht just last year and seized town hall - resulting in the deaths of over 50 civilians and police.
"They have also boycotted us all of Syncralscht because of our ethnic backgrounds. Ravenhoff was planning on allowing people like this into our government. Imagine what would have happened." Stutgart paused to let that sink in. He looked downat his podium and shuffled through his papers.

"Now, before you think that what I speak of is crazy, listen to this: Yesterday, Internal Affairs Minister, Johann Hoch, released a document of collected information on the Freuen Freedom Party. They have planned to open up a new trade export with Mythila of information regarding our military, of course they would deny such a thing like this, and future Syncrilnorn Growth Plans. Also, they have plans to move all their businesses that provide us with necessities such as cable, internet, telephone, and some electricity services out of the country completely and cutting off all Synralscht homes of it because they feel they are being robbed by us, even though they charge us high enough bills for all this anyway. We have proven that the Freuen corporate leaders get at least 18% of their company's annual profit." Stutgart was now becoming part of his speech. He was very enthusiastic about getting his point across.

"You see, we can't allow them to do such acts of barbarism, that dates back for hundreds of years. We are now living in a civilized society who interact with eachother in a formal, respectfull, and sane manner. Whether the Freuen want to realise this or not, they have to. 'Adapt or die', as the saying goes." Stutgart explained. "I will have more on this outrage for you all shortly."

Stutgart stepped down from his podium and walked off into the chamber halls. Hoch replaced him up on the podium. "It is sad to know this, truly it is. However, we must not keep the truth hidden before it comes out of the dark and rids of us. We must support our new appointed Chancellor and help resolve this issue. Authorities are underway, will be rather, to be arresting any suspicious Freuen people. Be helpfull and report any suspicious Freuen to the local authorities immediately and be on your guard for uprisings that are expected within the coming hours. This is why we are warning you of this now. The Freuen are planning attacks on government structures and land, and anyone who supports the government over them.
"You will see patrolling armoured military vehicles on regular patrol and seizing any roudy Freuen. Do not be alarmed, as they are only preventing the innevitable attack to come by reducing their numbers prior. That is all I have to say for now. Thank you." Hoch stepped away from the podium and left it empty.

The screen flashed back to the news room. "Frightening indeed how some people can get these thoughts into their minds to overthrow someone who is helping them. Ironic really," Gather said with his still emotionless and toneless voice. He turned to camera one. "Now, in other events today, there was a Freuen attack on a children's hospital in Niedersachsen in the Southern Province because they accused doctors of deliberate mal-practice on patients, doctors deny this and call it 'obsurd and foolish'. Reinhardt Kruger with more from downtown Niedersachsen." Gather tapped his earpiece and looked down and to the left. "Reinhardt?"

The well-adorned helicopter touched down in the field within the castle of Dawn Horizon's thick, elegant walls. Although they looked medieval, they were really made out of the strongest materials that the government could acquire. Protecting one's seat of government was always a priority.

Several reporters who had been given permission to enter the grounds rushed up to the black helicopter, most of the cameras focusing on the door. As if to grant their unspoken request, it folded up and the High Lord appeared, his dark, silver-embroidered uniform rippling with wind from the helicopter. His hair, however, stayed put.

"What can you tell us about your visit to Syncrilnorn, High Lord Zenithan?" They all seemed to ask, though in different words. Their eyes all seemed to glow with the lust for knowledge. Zenithan had felt that lust in the past, and it was a pleasant thing to have it fulfilled. At least these reporters were genuinely into their jobs.

"I've exchanged some military prototype information with our allies. I can assure you that this will bring us closer together. I find that we need to repair the rift that formed all those centuries ago when the Syncralsacht swept down upon our northern borders and obliterated everything there. What is done is done, and they have already apologized hundreds of times for that incident." He smiled. "Unfortunately, I think there is a bit of strife within the Syncrilnorn government."

With that, he simply passed through them without problem, leaving them to their business. He entered through the back door and made his way down the stately halls. A few moments later, in front of an intimidating painting of a dragon, his brother Urisil ran out to greet him.

"I think you might want to see this," he said to Zenithan hurriedly. "I don't think you're going to like it." His brother's brown eyes were dark and worried. Something that could put Urisil in this state...

Moments later, he emerged in the Media Room, which resembled a massive cinema with a large screen on one end and a podium on the other with many cameras facing it. The members of his party were assembled, seated and facing the screen, which had the face of a rather emotionless reporter displayed on it.

The rest of his party members finally arrived from their own helicopters and filed into the room, obviously confused. Zenithan could feel the tension in the air. It even seemed to linger around the leather chairs and the luxuriously thick carpet. All of a sudden, sound came through the gigantic speakers, giving the Syncrilnorn news anchor a voice.

All Zenithan could do was clench his fist throughout the entire broadcast. Ravenhoff, dead? He didn't doubt who had done that. He was lucky that his party monitored the surrounding nations' news. It was time for a newscast of their own.

"Request permission from ALL news institutions to make an emergency broadcast," he ordered. "NOW." No one would dare disobey him now. His green eyes looked almost like they were on fire with rage. "Air that broadcast to all of Mythila."

"My lord? Are you sure th-" someone began. Zenithan didn't have time for this.

"DO IT NOW!" he demanded.

He switched to a Mythilan news channel and watched the story unroll. Soon, he had made his way to the podium on the other end of the room. He sighed. He hated to resort to this, but he didn't have any other choice.

"Put me on the air." he ordered. This time, no one defied him.

"You're on in five," one of the cameraman said, then... "You're on."

Zenithan turned to the camera. "Mythila. The newscast you have just seen was utter heresy. Our government has gathered intelligence on the Freuen - most of that broadcast was a lie. Can you not see? The murder of Chancellor Ravenhoff and the plans of the new Chancellor coincide. Is that not a bit too convenient? It appears that Syncrilnorn has had a little coup d'etat take place right under their noses, and they are completely blind to it."

"I am personally going to open the borders to Freuen refugees. We have many Freuen working in our country, and it would be a tragedy if Syncrilnorn wiped them out, as it appears they are going to. I have no support for such uncalled for and radical actions. They are racist and sick. It is apparent that the government of Syncrilnorn is not fit to be trusted." He cleared his throat, making sure he had everyone's attention.

"We will be preparing our defenses, in case the Syncralsacht decide to come to Mythila to take their campaign to the next level - genocide. Be prepared for the times ahead. We have been forced into this position, my friends. Let us hope that it does not come to war. If it does, I need you to know that all the Freuen in this country have my support."

"You will receive more information as it comes in." he finished. The cameras shut off, and the regular news took over.

It had begun.
