A hairbrained scheme (ooc)

Alright I have a hairbrained scheme, although I don't know if this is 100% MT or not.

Instead of using an ETC cannon or an ET cannon, I use a NOVA device on Deutrium to create a Deutrium-Deutrium fusion reaction. The resulting ridiculous expansion of volume would be used to push a shell out at extremely high velocities. What will also happen during this time, is that the shell will become extremely hot as well, so that upon impact, it will literally burn through its target. The starting energy doesn't seem to be a lot either, and I can use magnetic confinement to prevent the gun barrel from being melted down. The below websites just show how laser fusion works.

Why would it create an increase in volume? Nuclear fussion basically converts matter to energy. And wouldnt this just melt the shell and gun? Not to mention barrel wear.[/resident skeptic]

Bump.

MP is feeding me all sorts of stuff about these and I want someone to critique them more throughly as they sound way out there and unworkable to me.

No Jamum. I loooove you.

And just because I posted on a thread you graced doesn't mean I'm following you.

But I am. :)

It's a ship and very heavy land artillery gun.
