It was a cold night on the island that many called the largest island in the Pacific. A sodden man dressed in what had once been a trenchcoat, struggled ashore, the rain beating down upon his shoulders. He valiantly fended it off from a white package that was obviously dear to him....or someone near him. It was obviously essential that the package was unharmed.
He staggered through the streets of Noumea to the Parlimentry building, a giant gold-domed building with a huge spire near the top. Pounding on the doors, he was let in, after showing an identification card. He passed through the hallways, his eyes darting here and there. Then, at last, he reached the king.
"What is it? Why do you disturb me?" the king asked in an annoyed voice.
"A letter, sir, from a superpower. Read it." The king read it slowly, a look of incredulacy growing on his face, which grew steadily redder...

The Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Sri Lanka, Reunion Island, and Mauratius.

The same scene happened in each. The same - or near the same - man appeared in each, demaning audience with an I.D. card. Each man was dressed in a tuxedo or trenchcoat, with a briefcase, and fear written on his face. Each time, he struggled down the street, growing tireder with each step.
And each time, as he entered the throne room, he handed a white package with a letter. Here is what each letter said:
Dear Ruler of the Land,
Your land has caught the eye of the Grand Democratic Duchy, which gazes upon you with awe. We are interested in gaining this land, so will you not oblige us and agree? Here are the advantages:
1)A strong and central government. We are powerful and hold much sway in the international community. You will be part of network of nations that will be mighty.
2)Economic growth. As a member of our empire, you will be part of a thriving economy, that is growing as we speak. Not only will you have money to fund your projects, but the source will continue forever, not spontanously starting and ending..
3)Protection. The world is full of dangerous imperialists, all of whom are willing to absorb you into their empires with ease. Our empire, on the other hand, will treat as we treat ourselves.
4)Semi-Autonomy. You will have the rights to rule alone, with certain privildges and rights. If you agree, a contract will be sent to you.
Thus you see the advangtages of joining us. Yafor 2 needs you, and you need us. Recodnize that need and join us.
