OOC: Do you understand how huge that creation is? Something like that would take years, if not decades to construct. I would increase crew requirements as well as capacity to store large devisions of armor.
IC: ~A small freighter dropped out of hyperspace on the fringe of the sensor net surrounding the pickup point. It translated its IRC code to the grid. This transport, like so many others, formed the legion of supply ships that flittered into and out of the system on a constant basis. The aged ship was given permission to enter the system, its engines flared again as it moved toward the nearby Federation crusier. The ship carried supplies contracted from the developing nation of the Draconic Order and would be used, among the fleet of supply convoys, to help build this leviathan of stellar engineering. Unfortunately the freighter did not have the proper technology to travel to the Multi Universe, where the behemoth lived, and so would have to hitch a ride on a ship that could. The freighter moved along side the sleek cruiser and awaited confirmation on docking status.~

OOC: I already have one like it, and 20 RL days is about 25 NS years. I'm building a second one. I operate a fleet of larger ships, and not a bunch of small ones.
And if you want to ask about it feel free, but the shipyard isn't even Normal Space, it's in the Multi Universe, Yes I am that paranoid.
But I'd love to speak to you

OOC: Ah... Well I can see that. Just to be clear, entering the Multi Universe I assume is like a pocket dimension in hyperspace/warp I assume.
Unfortunately I've had problems with communicating to hotmail emails, since I use yahoo... but I have trillian/aim and could communicate through that medium.

It has been communicated to the Xessmithian government that the ECF would like to purchase ten(10) modified Class J Induction warhead missiles. These missiles have a yield of 100,000 teratons and a cost of 750 billion USD per missile. We request that the order be confirmed.

Fleh. I am totally unimpressed. It doesn't have enough crew nor 'security personell' to be effective at repelling boarders. It doesn't carry enough ground weapons to make it a viable assault transport. It is underprotected for a ship its size, and 1/20 is not a good way to look legitimate. You should at least RP it out.

How is 110 PectaTons under protected?
I didn't think about the ground assult teams, Maybe I should add that in.
I'm trying to write a report, I'll RP out tonight when I have the damm time :P

Well, given that there's no such thing as a Pectaton. (Are you trying to go for 'petaton' here?)

I'm unsure of the spelling, but I think thats it. Xmessthia spelled it another way, so I thought that was right.

It clearly states even before you posted. "2200 Security Team Personal" I'm thinking that thats a better number.
OK, time to write me report, I'll RP it later tonight when I finish.

Yeah, and I was saying that two thousand 'security personell' is not enough to adequately defend a twelve kilometer ship.

I honestly dont know how much crew a ship this size should have. And I thought it was Pectaton, is it petaton?

A twelve kilometer ship should have a positively huge crew, even with a lot of automation. Probably in the low hundred thousands.
And yes, it is Petaton. Pectaton is meaningless AFAIK. Perhaps you mean Picoton instead? :)

OOC: This is the 3rd one, because I like to operate a small number of larger ships. My entire fleet is only about 100 ships, and that includes about 30 100-Meter Patrol Vessels, and I don't keep a ground army.
*********************
Out the window, the massive vessel begun to take shape. The harbor master (or whoever the hell you would call a guy who runs the show) picked up his PDA and begun to look over progress reports. " Hmmm good, very good. Oh my, its almost time for lunch time to... " The comm. screen sitting on his desk begun to flash marked " President ". " Holy shit, computer on screen. " The Cheerful face of the president appeared on the screen. He spoke " I'd like to know how things are coming along. This is a rather important project. "
He was busy looking through the mess of PDA's. One of them contained the progress reports. " Ahh yes Mr. President we are just working out some kinks such as shield generation and crew numbers. But those should be solved by the time the ship is complete. Right now the basic framework is going up. And it is almost complete. The hardest part will be mounted the Quantum Balancer inside the framework. But we should be able to handle it without any help. The 1st pieces of hull plating are arriving. I'd like to tell you what they are made of, but that is still classified. " He said. The president spoke up " I'm not big on this kind of thing. But what of the weapons? "
The harbor master spoke " those are being built in another shipyard and they will be arriving in a few years. "
" That's good to know, keep up the good work. Over and Out. "
The tiny LCD screen went blank.
He stared out the window. The huge ship looked incredible, even though it was only the skeletal framework.

Tell me this: How many G's does this sucka-foo have!? I mean, if it's 12 KM long, then it's got to have the same gravity as an Asteroid! If so, then what defenses (if any) do your normal ships have against gravity?
If you say it's got a lot of G's (which it kinda has to) and you don't have any gravity protection, then picture this:
All of the smaller ships around it, being pulled into it like Mr. Duckey going down the bathtub's drain.
Or, all of the big ships around it cauing the various G's to rip each of the ships appart like a baby in a parranha tank.

It all depends on how close to it you are. Assuming it's a sphere, which it isn't so this is fairly inacurate, the ship would have a gravitational field of 3.7 Gs at 100 meters, .037 Gs at 1 km.
Hate to say it but FT ships can take that. It's not going to rip any ships apart or pull any in.

((Ok, usually I go with the tired and true formula of 10,000 personel per 1km (this includes security, ship operations (engineers for example), marines, pilots, and any misc personel one could think of...) So, I'd say have a compliment of approx. 120,000 for a 12km ship, which is a major slice of any military's manpower.))

let "g" = acceleration due to gravity in m/s^2
let "m" equal mass of object
let "r" = distance from center of objects mass.
let "G" = the gravitational constant, 6.673x10^-11
This works best as a sphere.
g = (G*m) / r^2
The gravitational force between two bodies is
F = (G*m1*m2) / r^2
