Return of the BORG.

Ancient machenery whirred to life at some signal. Sensors had indicated a living host to once again rule the Collective. A human Female. Her name was irrelevant. she was the first living thing to explore pieces of the old Borg ships. No one living had entered the Queens ship, the only remanite of the once great Borg collective. She had come to the ship as soon as she turned 18, an adult. She wanted to see what was inside. No one new, no one remebered, all that was known, was that it was Taboo to enter the ship. Machinery is lifeless, but the ones that made it were not, and they had a will that their kind should continue to exist. Without a Queen, a ruler to direct them, the Borg soon fell apart, and died. The old ruler had been destroyed, and the computers wiped clean of the old rulers data, so a new ruler could not be made.
The woman stops, unaware of her fate. The computer scans, and measures, and knows sheis within range. It causes the arm of a long dead drone to strike, and assimilate her. She screams in shock and pain, she didn't want this, her last unique thought that was hers and hers alone was:"Why did i do this?" Then something happened, she lost most of her feelings, her individuality seemed greatly diminished. She noticed that she new the contents of the computer, she was the Queen, new ruler of the once proud Borg. She was imperfect, she had the chance to make herself better. Her Quality of life had been improved. There were irrelevant objects on her. She shed what was once her clothes, and walked to a room where she could better herself, become one with the technology that improved her so greatly. Thus was the Borg born again.
Within three hours she was almost perfect. She must share this wonderful gift with others. This ship could do something called teleportation. This ship was far more advanced than her world. What a gift they had been given. They would thank her fr this wonderful gift. After all, her world had just reached the point to where citizens could go to the twin moon on their own. The Twin moon was a small pair of Asteroids that Revolved around each other like a pair of ballroom dancers. They revolved around her home world of Mateo. The new Queen more intrested in the Mysterious ship that fell into orbit long ago, explored it instead. The Ship could still move, barely. Centuries of no one to repair it had slowly broken it. Thats alright, The Queen would share the gift with the people of the Twin Moon, they would lover her for it so much they would fix the ship for her. Assimilation, it was called.
She had the computer move the ship to the twin moon. with a simple command she Teleported the citizens one by one and assimilated them. They were driffent though, they lost all their personality and feelings, they all shared thoughts to, kinda like a Hive Mind. Within a few days and supplies from the Twin moon the ship was repaired. the Nanites did an excelent job of u[grading the primitive supplies. She turned her attention to Mateo itself. She decided She would now call it Unimatrix one. She teleported all the citizens from Twin Moon to the planet surface. Within one week, they all joined the new Borg Collective. she was the Queen. She had improved everybodies quality of life. What about everybody else though, didn't they want to improve the quality of their life? She decided to send a message.

The Collective had barely gotten the Omnivoice back together when this new ship wanted to know how it worked.
In the Omnivoice the collective told the Ship:
"We are the Borg Collective, All our minds are as one within the Hive-mind. There is no question, there is no dissent, there is only the will of the central voice, the Queen. we have no disease, we have no hunger, or thirst, we feel no effects of aging, and we regenerate, which is far superior to sleep. What more could we ask of perfection? Wouldn't you like to attain such perfection? Wouldn't you like to be a part of the collective?"
OOC: Like I said, I have a diffrent twist on the Borg. I started this peacefully, and I plan to end peacefully. Besides, I'm not even up to 100 million drones yet. I won't begin research on new technology until then. Even then, I'm going to start out simple.

Sliding through the vast expanses of space, the emmense ship seemed small, except comparred to it's crew. It was a Specter Class Dreadnought, marked with the Imperial Naval Seal, under it's name. CSS VALKYRIE
Captain Plissken sat up in his chair as the comm officer turned, flipping a control. The bridge filled with the voice of the Queen and all work stopped. All eyes were on Plissken. "Inform Sol. The Borg have reformed. Standard proceedures one through four are being enacted. Five will be enacted once these Borg are deemed Threat."
The ship soon turned and opened a hole in space itself, passing through before it sealed behind. Several hours later, at the edge of the system the signals came from, the rift opened again and the massive ship exited, countless weapons allready online and making the ship appear meaner than usual. It oriented itself and it's drives ignited, propelling it through the system.
This is Captain Todd Plissken of the CSS Valkerie. Unimatrix One, we are on approach, weapons hot. We will not fire unless fired upon. Don't make the same mistake as the last batch of Borg...

Black turned to white, white turned to black, and the universe inverted for a moment that took an eternity.
A platoon -- two cruisers and three destroyers. Not a large force, no craft greater than two hundred-forty meters, but still good enough to deal with whatever comes, hopefuly, assuming that whatever does not include an entire fleet. But that is not something Command was worried about, Commadant Jira Satō knew.
A threat rating three was nothing to worry about, usually, except that 'first contact' messages seemed to attract every pisspot state in the galaxy. They were vultures, with overblown egos and a belief they could place the universe, usually. There was always the outside possibility a real power would take interest. Commandant Satō didn't believe the Kingdom was a power, but she did believe in doing her job, which right now involved checking out this new little entity and escorting some diplomats before reentering the Crossgalactic Translation Arc on the way back to Paradigm.
Black turned to white, white turned to black, and the universe inverted for a moment that took an eternity.
"Alright. Scanners online," Commandant Satō's thought-words came over and above the status report streams of the command net. "Let's see what we got."*
Fusactors burst online, sending tremmors through each hull. Shields and drives flared, stabilized. Scanners stabbed out, low-powered things that would get a sense of what was in the system, unless someone had decided to turn up jamming. In the skies of the planets circling the system's sun, six new stars would briefly flare hours later.
"Speak of the devil," Commandant Satō chuckled. "Crimmond's got here before us. Open a channel. Looks like we found our target."

"We wish naught but peace for the world. Individuality is, irrational. Seperated, diffrent minds gear towards diffrent actions. Diffrent paths cause hate, and hostility. Only under one mind can true peace be achieved. We wish to help all achieve this peace and protection, but, as not everyone would be willing to join, we are willing to wait. After all, with the passing of time, who could not help but see the benefit of a single mind? Think of it, all crimes will be no more, there would be no dissent, no crime, no suffering, no hurting , no pain, only the will of the central voice. Surely we must be the end of all evolution, as this surely must be the only way. We are not worried about no one wanting to join now, joining is inevitable." The Collective said.
They were thouroughly convinced that they were the final result of Evolution.

OOC YAY, Lithia can once more enter the Tsurani stage. THank you Delta Quadrent, I needed some excuse to bring her back from hermitdom.
IC On the Planet of Medkimia, a earth sized world in the third Naritami, a women slep within a massive cave. Around her machinery lay discarded, once created, it had been dissmantled so she could create something more. She woke, her large red eyes opening to study the area around her. She stood, revealing a woman who would be no older then 26, which had the slightly musled form of one who works for their life. Her skin was pure white, and her hair was a light blue, which was flaied with bits of silver at the end. She searched her mind, wondering why she had woken, and found the infomation with a deadly prasision.
Hm, whats this? She thought to herself slowly. By the gods, that is interesting, perhapse I could help them. She looked at her self, and sighted, instantly half her body turned into a Golden sheen with blue speckles, the common sign of Golden Illithiate. She moved to the ship she had made, a graceful thing that looked much like an egg. She made a short sound, and eight sections of the walls moved up revealing the Units behind them.
"Make the ship ready, I will be leaveing in four minutes, rift location origen of the message I recived." She said in a mechanicaly feminin voice. "Now, before Delawere becomes aware of my leaving."
Ten minutes later, the ship droped out of the rift near the Borg controled world.

We come to help, while I will not loose my individuality again, I will assist you to help those who choose to. I may suggest not shooting this ship down however, or there will be a termporary one way rift, that will, if pushed, destroy this system.

IC:
Collective, you undersetimate that you do not understand.
You underestimate Individuality greatly. If you go by set patterns and instructions, you will always be destroyed and outmanouvered. You cannot defend against something until you know what it is, and someone who is individual enough to innovate will always be one step ahead of you. If that step is enough to destroy you utterly, then you are doomed.
Trust me, we've dealt with far superior Robotic races with similar, if not the same goals as you. They lie dead, discarded debris among the galactic wastes, pulverised by our weapons. We will never join, and no race ever will, nor could you make us if you tried. Not once have we ever fallen, because we know perfection is a lie. Everything is falliable, and we grow stronger because we embrace this, yet try for the best we can. Humans and machines complement each other, there is no subserviency to a greater being, man or machine.

IC: The Valkyrie continued it's approach. A visual message was transmitted and the large bridge of the ship was seen. "I'm Captain Plissken. You are Borg. The Borg have never wanted peace. They want to attain perfection by force over all who do not comply. You, if you do not wish this, are not Borg."
The ship's drives shut down and it moved on inertia alone, along with a few nudges by thrusters.
Plissken stepped down and up to the pickups. "We have sucessfully destroyed the Borg before. Twice. All I want to know is two things... One, why should I not destroy you as well? And two, How did you reform?"

OOC: Nanotech Army, for now you should just assume it is a command ship. Delta Quadrant even stated that it was a delerict cube.
IC:
As the sensors identified the old vessel as a queen's command cube, Johann's mind was already forming a variety of largely irritating, though not fatal, pranks.
These things had something called a vinculum, didn't they? Some sort of computer core. This could present an opportunity to experiment with how these things worked. Noticing an open docking bay, though shielded, the little personal craft backed up, and fired full thrusters, ready to pierce the undermaintained shields.
Smiling to himself in his own mind, he hurtled towards the shields, something he had done countless times when unlucky pirates chose to prey upon this seemingly normal custom made racer.
In reality, the ship represented the single largest equipment/size ratio ever built in Hakurabi. Scaled down warship shields, compound fullerene armour, wide array scanners, even fusion beams! Not to mention the capacity to build and maintain up to two small exploratory vehicles. That aside, he had also picked up a whole lot of things from obscure places and travelling merchants, and now was the proud owner of, among other things, twin missile racks, a small cargo bay, and a molecular reassembler. All mashed into something a little smaller than a corvette.
It was pretty well equipped. Space adventure game hero well equipped.
OOC: Nanothech: start scanning me with a focused beam and I'll blow you out of orbit. It makes for bad diplomacy, trying to get data on other peoples' craft for no reason. Anyway...depending on your scanners you saw nothing; a lot of stray ions from shields and drives, and/or the outline of two 240-meter craft, three 160-meter craft, and one relatively small shuttle, all of which might look like twentieth-century battleships but with guns on their keels.
"Yup," Satō stretched inn the relatively spaceous CIC. It was spaceous by Weyrean standards -- it did not require one to stoop beneath equipment upgrade modules. That the Crimm craft had not yet responded was not something she was concerned about. They were forty light-minutes from the twin-mooned planet, enough distance that communications took over an hour to be sent and for a responce to come back, to say nothing of potential weapons fire. "Nothing here. Cell status?"
And in the meanwhile, the diplomatic craft turned about, and began its decceleration pattern.

"Exiting hyperspace."
As the ship's computer stated that in its emotionless tone, the distinctively featureless dagger-shaped ship itself exited its particular version of hyperspace a distance from the cube itself, though it seemed to be heading toward it quite slowly - only a couple hundred of kilometers per hour - and it was a distance of several thousand kilometers away.
The captain of the CPC Tiger's Claw nodded to himself and glanced around the bridge. "We're in one piece, it appears the drives worked to spec this time. But they're either running slower than they're supposed to or we're way off course..." He frowned, glancing across the bridge toward his officers. "Report."
The tactical officer tapped away at her holographic console for a moment before her eyes widened. "We've got inertia. Hitting the dampeners, reversing thrust, hard to port ... full stop." She glanced over at the captain, shaking her head, "That was unexpected. It's been noted for the techs to look at in Enteka."
The captain nodded. "Very good, Ms. Shavvemia." He looked at the individual to his right, the sensor tech, who appeared to be having something of a time.
After a moment the tech spoke up. "Sorry, sir. We're way off course - reading that we're outside the cluster. Trying to pin down where we are, looks like somewhere in the Milky Way so it isn't all that far, relatively speaking. Though several thousand parsecs at least, if I'm reading this right." He paused, glancing toward the holographic display of local space, then toward the communications tech, remarking, "Tozeshe, could you raise any of those ships nearby and see if we can get a plotting on a star chart? The comp's going to take a while to figure out our position at this rate... hrm, looks like something tugged us toward some sort of sinkhole. Not a gravity well this time, something different. Not sure what yet. I'll be able to check in a few moments."
The comm tech nodded, replying, "Might as well; we can't communicate with base at Enteka until we know where we are, anyway. Seems rather fortunate we're popped out with these other ships present, unless it's some sort of trap. I'll open a channel for you, captain." The captain acknowledged this with a nod.
The tactical officer frowned a bit. She glanced at the captain. "Passive scanners are on and I'm trying to place these vessels in the database. Only possible match is the cube, looks like it's not terribly primitive but without an active scan I won't be able to confirm, and I don't want to risk that in a cutlass class if you get my drift, sir."
The captain nodded. "Understood, lieutenant Shavvemia." He then glanced toward the comm tech and remarked, "Lieutenant Ceffethaa, open the channel when you're ready," he remarked. "Voice only, translate and transmit it in the usual variety of dialects on standard channels."
"Yessir."
This is captain Tossipii Tiovux of the Dominion starship CPC Tiger's Claw, requesting assistance from unidentified ships in the local area.
We seem to have misjumped, and at the moment aren't precisely sure as to the why - we would, however, like to request that someone identify exactly where we are if this is at all possible.
Any help that anyone might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The captain sighed, and glanced at the Lt. Shavvemia. "At least we didn't jump into a gravity well again. That was not fun, burning off the nanocomposite."
The tactical officer nodded gravely.

For Hakurabi
The Borg Sheilds were not what they could be, the little craft made it through to the Docking bay, it was almost full. there were 10 docks and eight of them had cubes being built. The Borg ignored the small vessal because he was not yet a threat.
For Crimmond
"Where we come from? That data file was damaged and irretrievable. How we refromed? Well, all life has a will to survive, does it not? We are no diffrent. We needed a new Ruler, a new central voice, the old one was destroyed, along with her data. We got a new one, and helped her entire race gain a better quality of life. You may not think of us as Borg, but with Time, all things change. We keep the knowledge of every being that enters The Collective. We know from past mistakes that force is not the way. Thus we have changed. We know that through peace, eventually all things will be united under the Will of the Collective."
For Xenonier
"We may not be perfect as you say, but we will get there then. Nothing will stop us in our pursuit of perfection. You have chosen your path of Evolution, we have chosen ours. Perhaps we could share notes along the way."
For Lessir Tsurani
"Welcome, Litha, mistress of machines. We would not dream of taking your individuality against your will. We are not like before, we would not shoot your egg."
For Weyr

OOC: All you;ve discovered, is that I'm still so weak from forming, that I can barely defend myself against asteroids.
IC:Let me ask all of my neighbors a question, why do you hate us? We just barely reform, with a new direction, new methods of thinking and doing things, and already, before we can even do anything to prove we've changed, your already threatining to destroy us. Why is that? Are you that afraid of us, Of what we might become? Tell me, do you really believe that your voice actually gets heard with those in command? Do you really think your voice , your opinion makes a diffrence? we don't, We realized that Individuality was the cause of all our problems, so we united into a single mind, a single voice. All minds get heard, all minds are taken into consideration. This is possible because all minds are united into a single hive mind. The central voice cannot act without it, yet it is the central voice that gives direction. Our two parts are interdependant upon each other. That is why you fear us, why you hate us, we come with open arms, and get greeted with fear, fear of our unity, fear of our diffrence, it is not that we might take your individuality away, or that we might figure out how to evolve into something you may not understand, it is because we are truly unified, truely one. We seem to have misjumped, and at the moment aren't precisely sure as to the why - we would, however, like to request that someone identify exactly where we are if this is at all possible.
Any help that anyone might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
"Huh," more ships. This was getting somewhat lively, the commandant thought abscently. "Transmit target coordinates, and whatever data we got on the craft in the area. Text only."

"Visual acquired," some where in the cockpit of the craft, a pair of speakers turned up.
"Right. Take us in," he commanded from the pilot couch.

This is the Dominion starship CPC Tiger's Claw. Did we take a left at Albuquerque by mistake?
The comm tech glanced up, as additional data began to fill the holographic display. "Captain Tossipii, one of the vessels is transmitting telemetry data. We should be able to pinpoint our location on our maps shortly. ASCII text format for the most part. Their vessel ID's as... Weyrian, according to their data. The big ugly one is Borg, identified as Unimatrix One. Generic enough name for a species, but it's enough data on most of these to catalog the basics of their ships for later reference."
The captain nodded. "Excellent. Transmit a tightbeam reply to them, same method they used to send that data to us."
"Yessir."
Weyrian vessel, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Hopefully we'll be out of your hair shortly here, whatever is going on - looks like we stumbled in on quite the gathering here.

As the little vessel came to a rest in the docking bay, two hatches opened on its underside, and two very different looking exploration units emerged.

The other looked like a tank chasis with a hatch and a radar dish. It too floated, using four hover pads.
They began bobbing slowly down the docking bay, heading towards the nearest borg interface. (Apparently borg cubes have ports to allow drones that have come out of contact with the main body to download new info.)

Finding a download terminal, the Orb extended a high speed transmission plug, and Johann 'met' the collective.
First jamming the information feed, he then allowed thin two way browsing, allowing him and the collective to communicate, but nothing more. His mind was his mind - noone else's.
As the communication channels opened up slightly, he decided to make it clear that he was perfectly happy with the level of 'perfection' he had achieved.
"Hello, Borg. First off - I am fine how I am. Should you attempt to change me, or my REVs in any way, I shall respond in kind. Should you attempt to destroy the REVs, they shall scramble the collective mind. As long as you are clear on that, we will get along nicely."
The Orb deposited a small 'probe' in the port, allowing for continued communication and interface.
As the plug receded, the REVs hovered off in search of the queen herself.

Imperial Necrontyr Diplomatic Vessel Shiissathel*
The ship was fast and new, one of several of its class to be built as (mostly) unarmed diplomatic vessels. One hundred and sixty meters of white hull and communications equipment, surrounding a powerful set of engines both slower and faster than light, threw themselves into the system. A crew of no less than five began making final preparations. This race was unknown, and few precautions were missed.
A young woman sat in the chair that dominated the vessel’s control room, and nodded to the communications terminal, which sprang to life of its own accord. “Greetings,” she said, confidant of the semi-magical translation abilities of the systems, “we have heard your call and are curious about you and your way of life. We invite you to send an emissary aboard our vessel.”
The transmission was sent, using a system that contained both three and two dimensional image data. The choice of inviting them aboard was a simple one, They were quite certain that the new species was some kind of hegemonistic swarm. If nothing else, they could be contained. Despite its lack of significant armament, the Striker class ship was familiar enough with teleportation to keep a powerful sensor-jamming field in operation at all times when in non-friendly territory. Though few nations used such technology, The C’tan was one of them, and thus had garnered much information on how to frustrate unwanted efforts by others.
This jamming however, did not cover the forward launch bay, which passed through the ship and stored two small shuttles.

Aboard the Shiissathel, a door to the landing bay slid open, with a slight, almost completely inaudible hiss of equalising pressure. The bay itself was efficient, the two landing vehicles were stored in an alcove forward of the access doors, while the bay ran though the ship from one side to the other, with heavy doors as well as force field projectors at either end. However, the inside of the bay was frivolously decorated, large hexagonal arrays of a white-quartz like material providing a soft illumination throughout the bay, showing the colourful markings that lined the floor in stark contrast to the utilitarian exo-plating of their guest.
As soon as the drone had appeared, the intensity of the jamming in the bay had snapped up by several notches, once again caution was being employed. The woman who walked through the doors was slim and tall, with her brunette hair tied back behind her head. She wore long silver robes that covered her every movement. Despite carrying nothing that was obviously a weapon, she was indeed armed. Looking at the drone, she felt no reason to hide her doubts, “Welcome aboard the Shiissathel,” she said, keeping her distance, “If you would care to follow me,” she turned, and stepped back through the double doors, into a wide room that seemed to be a nexus of several others, with a balcony above and a sweeping, ornamental staircase in its centre.

SS-07 bobbed around in inter-dimensional space, spying down on a blurred galaxy in an almost godlike fashion. At least, that's what it felt like to SS-07. Planets, stars, black holes, all looked like tiny rocks from where it was flying. Ships and people were smaller than ants, barely visible on its sensors even when it was nearby.
It spied a cluster of activity, apparently a congregation of space vessels near one of the roc... planets. SS-07 was an exploration vessel at heart, and just had to take a closer look.
The peculiar, shapeless ship phased into normal space as casually as you please, and made some quick scans of all the ships and people nearby. Organics. Organics. Always organics. Once you've seen one, you've seen them all. More interestingly, though, some non-organics resided there. And... something else.
Organic, but non-organic. Non-organic, but organic. SS-07 couldn't make sense of it. So instead, it opened a micro-hole and sent a transmission through inter-dimensional space, back to its homeworld some few thousand lightyears away. Phenomenally rapid bursts of binary code; entire transmissions lasted mere picoseconds.
"Unusual species encountered, grid reference x728 y28 z292; request clarification," SS-07 asked.
"Please specify scenario for analysis," a unit on the homeworld replied. So SS-07 sent its sensor records. The unit on the other end took a few nanoseconds to analyse the sensor logs and then responded. "Intriguing. Part organic, part non-organic. Probability of non-organic species wanting to deteriorate their effectiveness by adding organic parts: 0.008%. Probability of organic species wanting to increase their effectiveness by adding non-organic parts: 98.557%. Conclusion: Part organic/part non-organic species were initially organic, thus barbarians. It could be theorised that they added technology to their flawed physiologies in an attempt to increase their destructive capabilities. Recommendation: Avoid contact. Organic species are invariably prone to violence, paranoia, xenophobia and barbarism in general; you put your own existence at risk by mixing with them. Mykonia out."
SS-07 closed the inter-dimensional micro-hole and sat motionless for a while. It didn't know what to do. It was intrigued, but not enough so to risk its life. Ever-curious, SS-07 re-entered inter-dimensional space, but didn't leave the vicinity; it hovered around, trying to drag what intercepted communications and sensor information it could through the dimensional barriers, waiting to make a more educated decision on what to do.

The room had a large panoramic ‘window’ which was actually a casual display of sophisticated technology. Despite being deep inside the ship, the window seemed convincingly real, as if it were a thin film over three-dimensional space. With the enhanced eyepiece typical of a borg drone, minute imperfections in the image could be detected, areas that seemed to be slightly jarred, two separate images, seen differently by each different observer.
The woman invited the drone to sit at a long table, that curved around the pseudo-window, with six comfortable looking chairs, a slight gap at the centre. She took a seat at one end of the table, not entirely certain she wanted the augmented life form close to her. She laid her hands on the marbled cream-white of the table and smiled, “So,” she said, “You wish to tell us about your way of life,” she stated, pushing a yellow button set into a panel of twelve, “please, begin.”

Your passive sensors find that nearly all the creatures, with the exception of the Ultralisk, are very low-density. There are metal and metaloid parts, but nothing that would seem remotely like any advanced technology. There is an ambient energy field encompassing ultraviolet, infared, radio (short and long) EM frequencies, decreasing sharply in strength the greater the distance from the group. The structures/Overlords (transport fliers) emit rather large amounts of it. Minor subspace fields channel from every creature to the overlords/structures, and from them to an unknown location.
The structures are developing "roots" in a sod-like manner for the first several centimeters down, and beyond that nothing is discernable. The rate of conversion of material to matter used by the structure/growth is aproximately 26kg/half-death of O-15 (two mintues), And increasing.
A purple organic goo is spreading out around the base of the structures, which seems to be high in amino acids, metaloids/some metals, silicates, phosphates, hydrocarbons, and lipids.

When he did cool down enough to think again, he realised that this would also annoy the borg, and they'd attack.
The weaponry contained in the REVs whirred to life, though still in a concealed position. Neuroshock and EMP field generators began charging.
The fusion cannons began glowing ever so slightly, as they powered up after years of idleness.
The shields on the craft created a kinetic shield, which should be strong enough to repulse any slicing and dicing attempts. (Of course, this is always impossible)
Indeed, the REVs were already too far in to avoid the ire of the Borg.

The eggs hatch, producing more drones, some of which then morph themselves into still more structures, while others manipulate the pods for a moment.
Within the pods, fleshy material encompassed the drones. Tendrils extend themselves into the bodies of the drones, altering their biological structure quickly. The drone's muscles become denser, more able, their joints freer of movement, and their bones lighter and stronger. The brains of the drones are altered, made more receptive, and reduced in size. The technology hardwired into the drones begins to fit oddly, but is moved, and the physical structure of the drones is changed to make more efficient the mechanical.
Some of the hardware covering the drones is removed and ejected outside of the pods. The legs of two of the drones are changed to make them quadripeds, with spider-like hairs and claws on the new legs. The arms of a number of others are segmented, producing four, even six appendages capable of manipulation finer then any fingers.
Some are left rather unchanged as far as appearance goes.
The borg are removed from the pods at varying rates. One, being deemed a failure, is absorbed into the pod, all it's hardware ejected.

The ship turned its sensors to maximum gain, and continued to observe the Zerg settlement.

The captain listened to the translation of the various intercepted messages. This was a science ship after all - it would not be much of a ship in that regard without a sensor suite, not to mention that the messages could be cleaned up fairly well by running them through the EECM software prior to translation; this ensured they would be intact with a minimal amount of background noise. The ship's central processor cataloged it all with indifference, filing it away to be later studied.
In the meantime, the captain watched text translations scroll through the holographic display. The ship had been there for quite some time now. Long enough that people might actually begin wondering when the ship was planning to depart as they had the telemetry data that they should have needed. This was not a fact lost on the vessel's occupants, however, and they simply waited for the captain to give the word.
After a period of time, he gave it. The ship transmitted a brief thank you once more, before disappearing into a momentary gold jump gate that consumed it.

OOC LOL, No, not your Overmind. The Old Tsurani Empire Was ground to dust by an Emense being that used their connected hive mind to its advantage and turned them into mindless toys. We now make sure all connected minds have no way for the Overmind to push in and do the same.
IC Lithia moved through quickly, her Blue hair spreading out and connecting to variour points in the walls. Four hairs assulted the Queen. For three second their was the hair everywhere, then it was back to normal.
"It is done, Sister" She said, breathing in heavily. "Now, may we dine?"

OOC: I do not know anything of the Zerg. The Queen can disasemble in one place, and reassemble elsewhere, much akin to teleportation, this is how the collective protects its Queen.
For C'tan:
"Freedom is irrelevant, Individuality is irrelevant, all must become one with the Collective. However, We will no longer force assimilation into the collective. That was the old protocol, that protocol cause exteinction multiple times, that protocol has been deleted. The Collective will now simply keep the offer open." The Drone said.
For Lesser Tsurani:
"Eat? The Borg have no need of the consumption of Organic food. Our Nanoprobes synthisize all nutrients we might require. We have no need to "dine" on anything." The Queen said.

A ship tumbled from the Warp, its left engine torn to shreads.
"Captin" Came the yell "We need to land, get repairs, otherwise we are screwed."
"DO whatever, I have my own Problems." Came the Captins grunts and he wrestled with the Warp Creature that had snuck in.

OOC: My pervious post still stands as my last action.
A helluva lot more can be learned/pics can be seen of each unit at http://www.battle.net/scc/
(note: The zerg style is to have many, many small, weak, swarming units. massive damage is relative to that, as is toughness, unless states otherwise)
The Zerg are composed of several different types of creatures that have been integrated into the Swarm by the Overmind. These creatures, or breeds, have been selectively evolved to become efficient killers and to assist the Zerg in their quest for ultimate power. The Zerg do not utilize technology in the common sense, but their natural weaponry and armor is comparable to the most advanced gadgetry employed by any other species. This biological evolution, combined with an unmatched savagery and their blind devotion to the Overmind (me, in a way), make the Zerg an extremely formidable and deadly foe.
The Zerg have been found in all types of environments, including deep space. They have adapted themselves to the rigors of space travel, although it is not exactly understood how they are able to do so. The center of a Zerg habitation is the Hatchery. Their nests are composed of a thick organic matter, nicknamed the Creep, which provides nourishment for the Zerg and provides organic mass for Zerg Larvae and Drones to facilitate their transformation into larger forms. The Creep expands and covers the area around the Zerg hive, and is very difficult to eradicate.
Perhaps the greatest advantage of the Zerg and their biological nature is an amazing healing and regenerative ability. A Zerg colony will remain viable unless every creature and structure is completely destroyed, as even a Zerg on the verge of death will eventually return to full health.
The Zerg ability to regenerate health makes the option to retreat from battle an extremely viable one. Should units get damaged in a battle, they can retreat and a new force can be used to press the attack while the injured force uses time to their advantage as they heal.
This regeneration is not enough to be a factor to be usefull for any unit in combat.
All Zerg structures are biological in nature, and will regenerate like any unit.
Units:
Ground:
(all Zerg ground units can burrow (in about two seconds), save for the Ultralisk and the larva.)
Larva
Larva are produced at Zerg Hatcheries, and morph into eggs, which hatch the Zerg units. They are psychically sensitive and have great genetic versatility. They're also damned tough to little grubs.
Drone: The drone is the basic worker unit for the Swarm. It manipulates resources, moves things around, and morphs into structures. It has a weak short-ranged acid attack.
Zergling: Zerglings are small, vicious, fast, swarming melee attackers. They're very efficient, cost little, are created fast, do much damage in large numbers, and come two to an egg. They've got razor-sharp bone-sickle things protruding in fron of them. However, each zergling as an individual is killed easily, making them rather unthreatening unless encountered in large numbers. If you've got a sawed-off shotgun, you stand a decent chance of killing one running toward you, if you're a normal human. Two, though, and you'd probably be screwed.
Hydralisk: Hydralisks are efficient, medium damage, medium attack power, medium speed ranged warriors, which shoot spines from within their carapace.
In large numbers (as they are nearly always grouped in large numbers) they're great attacking anything on the ground or air. Mono-a-hydra, with current earth tech, you're dead, generally.
Lurker: Lurkers mutate from Hydralisks, morphing into an egg for a short period of time before coming out harder to kill, but only able to attack while burrowed, and unable to attack air units. While underground, they shoot waves of spikes in one direction, doing great damage to all units in that line. You're shishkabob without body armor versus these things, and even worse off if you have nothing with (semi) advanced sensors.
Defiler: Defilers also have no attack of their own, but can do things much like queens. They have the ability to launch a cloud of insects over an area that protects all creatures in that area from ranged attacks, but allows them to shoot from within it (Called Dark Swarm). They can also shoot forth a batch of corrosive spores that damages both buildings, ships, and organisms. While it doesn't outright kill them, it does bring them down to the point that one could kill them with an unsharpened pencil eraser if one so chose. The plague dissipates after about thirty seconds, but that's well enough to damage most things dramatically. Defilers can also consume fellow units in order to replenish it's stores of plague toxins/insects.
Ultralisk: This guy's a huge (think two tanks stacked on top of each other) living battering ram. He't tougher then ten bodybuilders on both heroine and coke at the same time. He's got two massive claw/teeth things that project in front of him that can tear through metal and flesh. He also takes a long time to spawn, is only medium-speed, and does rather little damage compared to his health. Four zerglings, if not killed, will so more damage faster then him. If a group of eight guys wearing kevlar with armor-piercing anti-tank rifles fought one, both the men and Ultralisk would die together, as long as the Ultralisk got to appear in the middle of the group (even if they know he's coming).
Protoss: These guys are rather tough, rather strong, and very, very powerful, mentally. They can unleash storms of psyonic energy, cause people to hallucinate, things like that.
Air:
Overlord: Transport flier for the Swarm. They have sensing organs that allow them to see incredible things, not the least of which are cloaked units. They have no attack of their own. Overlords are the psychic transmitters of the Cerebrate, and relay orders/control individual units.
Mutalisk: Mutalisks are the Hydralisks of the air. More expensive, live longer in combat, do more damage (as well as having their projectile bounce to two different targets for reduced damage) but have a significantly shorter range.
Guardian: Mutated from the Mutalisk, Guardians can't attack anything above them, but can do massive damage to anything below from a phenominal range.
Devourer: Also mutated from a Mutalisk, devourers can't attack anything below them, but shoot corrosive spores at anything they can. The spores slow down enemies, as well as making their armor less effective, with each attack.
Scourge: These fliers are living bombs, diving into enemy aircraft and blowing up on inpact. Also, cheap, fast, fast to produce, and come two to an egg, with low individual health. Two-three of these things will take out a Star Trek runnabout, no shields. Double that with shields.
Queen: Queens are fliers that have no attack of their own, but can shoot globs of slowing goop (Called ensnare) on groups of enemies (ensnare dissipates after about thirty seconds), can infest enemy buildings/units, and can project two kinds of parasites. One kind is benign, but grants the Swarm the sight of the host/host ship (called Parasite). The second is engulfed in acid, and burrows quickly through metal of any kind to reach the host, killing it, and produces two Broodlings from the corpse (called Spawn Broodlings). The broodlings are like zerglings, but do less damage, move a bit slower, and are hardier. They also expire on their own after several minutes.

If this is unacceptable, than we will simply repair your ship in exchange for all information about it, your technology, and your species. This Knowledge will be assimilated into the collective. If this is further unacceptable, than get out." the collective said.

"They were, primitive, unable to comunicate effectivly, they benifited greatly from our 'gift'. We were lost, destroyed, we benifited greatly from their assimilation. Both parties benifeted greatly, what more could be asked?" The drone replied.
OOC: Not willing at all, but, the Borg aren't lieing, just, phraseing their response carefully. Besides, who would willingly join the collective. I know that, you know that, problem is, the Borg are of the impression that it is everyone elses goal to be found worthy of assimilation, and I had to get my start somehow.

"We feel your mind, Collective. Through your drones. We have control of them, as do you. They were almost as dead, organically.
We wonder as to your response of our changes. And we wonder as to how long your changes will take to complete. We are mostly not humanoid, and it seems you are.
Mayhap you will add further modifications to compensate for the technology we have removed for our organic improvements.
Is it possible you can attempt improvement to our structures? Make them more efficent, less needful of mass?
We see how we can benifit you. You neither breed nor manufacture your organics. We may spawn them."
The zerg sense the full-powered scan upon them.
"Why not simply ask? What information can be learned? We have no technological secrets, nor can our mind be probed."
The Zerg extend their psyonic probe in turn, focusing it on the ship and all it's crew. Not doing anything currently, but merely gathering info and hiding in the crews mind, waiting to sense something of import.
Hiding and waiting.
Doesn't the Borg have all the info of it's collective at it's command? Couldn't it sense that none of the members (or very few, at least) wanted to be assimilated?

OOC:
How far is all of this from Sol? I'd like to make contact with the Borg, but I have no FTL technology.
Besides, who would willingly join the collective.
I would. Seriously. Every Borg drone has access to the whole knowledge of the Collective. Every Borg drone lives forever in the memory of the Collective. Every Borg drone is happy to be a drone (as evidenced by the fact that Hugh and Seven of Nine wanted to return to the Collective after they were separated from it). Furthermore, there is no indication that Borg drones can feel pain or suffering.
So, if you're assimilated, you get perfect happiness for the rest of your life, you get to be remembered forever after your death, and you get to be part of the greatest and most powerful intelligence in the galaxy. What isn't there to like?
Doesn't the Borg have all the info of it's collective at it's command? Couldn't it sense that none of the members (or very few, at least) wanted to be assimilated?
It seems that most drones actually like being drones after they're assimilated. Maybe people resist assimilation just because the Borg are ugly and have horrible PR. The Collective should really give up the "evil cyborgs" look and adopt a more friendly image. :)

It seems that most drones actually like being drones after they're assimilated.
But wouldn't the collective realize, that before being assimilated, nobody wanted to be? I realize that they'd enjoy it afterwards, but the collective should realize that people don't want to be assimilated until after having been already part of the hive.
Though personally, I'd opt for assimilation, if it were more like Kerrigan in the Zerg. Retention of personality, with all the advantages of being Borg.

The Zerg drones began to change infront of their former companions, lossing mass, gaining technological parts, The collectives healing abilities had been improved, and they had figured out how to adapt drones on the fly for diffrent jobs. The Borg were indeed pleased with the Zerg.
"We are happy to have made this exchange. Inspect your former comrades, and see how perfection has changed them." the collective said.
OOC: I am no where near SOL. I know everyone protects it with everything they have. It isn't worth my time to even attempt to assimilate it, so I never well. I refuse to even go near it unless invited. Perhaps you could discover some sort of one time anomaly that would bring you to me?
