Operation: Lone Star [Earth .0]

The 1st Imperial Fleet entered the Gulf of Mexico, and turned toward Texas. For now, the Fleet just sat there, launching aircraft and manuevering as normal. But things were not as they appeared, and something was afoot, for the Empire did not have any fleets on station in the Gulf in normal operations. Even if it did have a fleet here, it would not normaly have a detachment of enough amphibous vessels to land an entire army, as it now had.

________

HEF Red Star and nineteen sister ships crept in to Galveston Bay, where the ships cruised along at five knots. Perilously close to the shore, the special operations teams aboard (66 men per sub) the Hammerhead-class submarines floated out to shore, clearing the beaches of any and all enemy forces before the submarines fired off their Tomahawk cruise missiles toward any and all air bases to disrupt flight operations.

A similar thing happened in Corpus Christi bay and the coast of Jefferson county, and the submarines there also fired off their Tomahawk cruise missiles to disable airfields across the state. The special operations teams siezed their beaches and targets, and the battle had begun.

________

The Fleet recieved word of these operations and Admiral Tanaka, CINCGULF, orderd his aircraft carrier to launch its strike aircraft and destroy whatever was left of the air gaurd. At the same time, the fleet steamed in closer and engaged the pathetic band of Coast Gaurd vessels that stood in their way. Amphibous vessels started for the three beaches, and the special-forces teams that secured the beaches started inland.

To be continued in the morning, when I feel like it ;)
