Hitlerreich

with the allied forces handing over formal control of the government to a recently elected government coalition of socialist democrats and catholic centralists, the nation of Hitlerreich turns a new chapter. The dictatorship has now become a republic. The new republican government has formally applied to join the United Nations.
The new setup is as follows: the house of representatives (elected by popular vote) has 535 seats, every party that beats the 2,5% mark gets a proportional number of seats, the house controls all appropriations.
The seats are currently divided as follows:
coalition:
Majority socialist democrats 211 seats
Catholic centalists 78 seats
opposition:
Minority socialist democrats 35 seats
Conservative nationalists 64 seats
Democratic libertarians 61 seats
Nationalist front 86 seats
The National Socialist Party is banned.
The prime minister is the leader of the biggest coalition party, every cabinet member must be approved by a majority in the 96 member senate. To prevent possible opposition filibusters (54 votes required to break any filibuster) paralyzing government the president can temporarily override the senate's objection to a candidate by appointing a candidate of his choosing temporarily, this temporary candidate cannot stay on longer than 3 months, while the senate either ratifies the cabinet candidate or approves a new candidate.
Everyone of the 16 regions sends 6 senators to the capital, senators that are appointed by the regional governments.
The president, elected by direct popular vote (a majority is required) swears in the prime minister and his cabinet. In case of a government-house of representatives stalemate, the president can temporarily (not more than 6 months, then the senate must approve any extension) override any house of representatives objection to legislation and direct the prime minister to rule by decree, invoking article 48 of the new constitution.
Regional governments work the same.
The allied forces remain in the Reich for the time being to help the transition and prevent any revolutionary takeover.
Supreme court and federal judges are nominated by the government and must have Senate approval.

The mood was glum amongst the exiled leaders of the National Socialist Party, the nation seemed to be prospering again, however they were not a part of it. "Something must be done", demanded the Führer of the exiled Party, "work on getting our Party unbanned and get it DONE!".
"It should be possible", said Joebbels, "many of the new bureaucracy used to be party members, they will not be known to the allied forces since all senior party members have stepped down or have been forced out, patience will be the key".
