City-State Status Granted To Development

Into The Interior Of The Country.

The Interior of Southern Madagascar has bean a source of interest for many years. The North East cost is home to New Sheffiled and the Elizabeth Mountains the source of the earlier uranium mining industries. The west coast has little development exept for tribal fishing villages and RAFON terrorist controled area. The interior of the island is largly unihabited semi-temperate jungle known to the natives as the "Canak". Attempts to expand development have been sporadic and unsucessful. After the townships of the south very few live in the interior. Since the economy of B'Stardsia is largly based on banking it lacks the skills to develop the interior. By order of the Lord Protector's Office any townships and colonies built within the interior limits may proclaim a City-State and develop its own laws and development. Each City state will recieve protection from the HM Dominion's Federal Corps. Marine. For this privilage and use of the land a flat tax of 5% per annum will be charged.
Regional Brigidier Mortimer of HMD's federal authoriy will be contactable through the regional office at Charles' Drift in the south west. Apply the

The Landrover rumbled down the dusty track, the sweat and noise of the jungle on either size. Mortimer watched from the vantage point of his Charles' Gorge office. The truck pulled up by the base station and three figures lumbered out carrying parts of a communication rig with them. Mortimer stubbed out his cigar and adjested his dress uniform. The shouts and bumbling of the engineers were temperally drowned outby the drone of a Lynx helicopter above. The engineers scuttled away as the SAR helicopter landed in the make shift clearing. The brigidier walked from his office to the garden outside, well garden is one way to put the area in front of the office with less rocks then other places. In the mess Captain Garcas gave him an ethusiastic slalute. They had been here for two weeks and already Charles' Gorge or "WHITEHALL" as the radio operatives called it, which covered a few acres of land with the jungle cleared with the help of NEPALM, consited of mess quarters the office, canteen, arsenal, helipad and soon a communications rig. He could still smell the diesel on still days. When he arrived the ground had grassed other but bits of burned wood littered the site. In a hour the communication rig was up and he was able to plan the expedidtion to the Canak jungle.

ooc: do you mean an independent city-state, say loyal to my commonwealth, that is for now defended by Brigidier Mortimer, and in return, the Commonwealth pays a five percent tax annum on the GDP of the city-state?

OOC: the city-state is independant but can be loyal to whoever you want. The army just offers protection and is included in the tax. It is only a small force though. So just do whatever you want.

Mortimer survayed his troops,

The first squad were kitted out with the standard array of light shirts, jungle boots and helemets each one sporting a Lee-Enfield, or at least aweapon manufactured with Lee-Enfield blue prints, and a Kukri Knife. The tenth man had the communication backpack and the Sgt. in command wielding a mean looking machettie (ooc: spelling was not mortimer's strong suit) The Squad hacked its way into the jungle. They were trekking to Gertsburg, a table top Plateau to scout the area for a suitable site for an airfiled, the Gertsburg field or "WADDINGTON" as it was also known had been had been planned for months. Eventually it would link up with the Ganderarland Rail head or "PADDINGTON". Mortimer wondered why the radio-ops bothered. As the first wave of Canak Rifles entered the Canak itself, Mortimer must have wondered if it was worth all the effort.
