(Assoicated NS Press) Feb. 25th, 2005 CE - Umbrai, Isle Lothlorian - After 5,000 years of refusing to export it's furniture, the Elder Chairmaker Bishop Dar the Representitive announced this morning that an agreement had been reached by the Isle Exportation Association and the United Furniture Guilds to export a limited amount of furniture produced each year.

The Isle Lothlorian has been known as the world's best furniture makers for at least the last 1520 years. "We hope to eat two pies with one fork," stated Elder Chairmaker Dar "We hope that by allowing United Nations members that have endorsed us to import our furniture while we import their most excellent products, we can strengthen our individual economies, raise the standard of living amongst United Nations members and thereby promote an increased global influence. We sincerely hope that, at the end of the day, folks are more likely to sit on one of our most comfortable sofas rather than go to war."

Lothlorian sofas have been know to last hundreds of years, while some tables and side boards are known to be over two thousand years old. When asked about the longevity of Lothlorian furniture, Dar responded: "Well, to be perfectly candid about the situation, another strong motivation in our decision to export our furniture is that, well, our furniture just doesn't wear out. Each member of our society has all the furniture they can use, handed down from generation to generation."

One source that wished not to be identified indicated that over 15.2% of the warehouses on the Isle Lothlorian are filled with furniture that has no home. While it is expected that this surplus will satisfy the inital interest over the next six months, waiting times of up to one year for some pieces of furniture are expected soon.
