OOC: All are welcome; unless your nation is really on my hit list. Role-play: media, leaders or delegates. All violence, drunkenness and the like shall be ignored; everyone invited would have been highly respected. Everyone was searched on entry for weapons and the like.

To our lead story: In an overwhelming show of support the Elected Councils have passed Justinian’s new constitution, allowing him to sit on the throne as Emperor and not High Priest. It also will give him the power to appoint a Pope and the Chancellery. Justinian has ordered his official coronation to occur in one month, in time for the new palace to be constructed.

A month later

The huge throne room had been finished only days before.

The long hall hung with crimson and blue.

The assembled guests gathered on each side of the red carpet leading up to the golden throne.

The marble walls and columns shone, covered in the finest ornaments and paintings in all Farmina.

The orchestra began to play and the lights went off.

“Come before us Justinian,” began the deep voice of an unseen man.

The crimson carpet became illuminated and Justinian stepped into the great hall of the throne room.

He was dressed in a fine suit, coloured in what would become known as the Imperial Whites.

The exception to this was his extremely dark blue shirt, barely visible under his jacket.

Justinian walked forward slowly, watching the crowd, watching his secretly dispersed guards.

He then walked up the few steps and stood before the thrown.

“Do you Justinian accept the duty of Emperor of Farmina, ruler in the name of God, for God, under God with God’s authority?”

“I do,” replied Justinian.

“Do you Justinian promise to do what is right in the eyes of man as well as in the eyes of God?”

“I do,” replied Justinian.

“Justinian, through your blood and the through the Light of Heaven, will you speak as God’s voice on Earth.”

“I will,” said Justinian.

“I hereby pronounce you: Holy Emperor Justinian the First, of Farmina, holder of the office of Light of Heaven.”

Justinian sat down on the throne and all the lights shone upon him.

On the arm rest sat a ring, the Imperial Signet. Justinian picked it up and placed it on his ring finger over top of his white glove.

“All hail Emperor Justinian. May he be the Light of Heaven for a thousand years. Praise be to almighty God.”

The crowd echoed the unseen voice, “All hail Emperor Justinian. May he be the Light of Heaven for a thousand years. Praise be to almighty God.”

Then all the lights came on and waiters emerged carrying drinks and finger food. Justinian arose and went to mingle with the gathered.
