Rebelion on Wanioa VI (Open FT/Space Tech RP)

The Cassiopeia Galaxy
24-02-2005, 04:03
Wanioa VI was a Water World, one of many conqued by The Old Dominion, The Wanioans were enslaved for 10,000 Years, The Sea Otter like people never liked their world under the rule of aliens. For tens of thousands of years they planned to Rebel and throw off the Alien Rule of The Cassiopeian Dominion.

But Times have changed in the Galaxy, The Dominion is gone, now a republic, it's leaders now wanted to start a new era in The Galaxy.

But The Wanioans can't forgive what The Dominion did, and now, They want Blood.

The Leader of the Wanioan Freedom Army (WFA), Gai Tai, soon talks to a Meeting of Wanioan rebel leaders "Today," he saids "We throw off the rule of The Vex, the Shah'reeks, the Co'rans, The Draconians, The Demons and the Angleic Queen of The Cassiopeians, today, we free our World from the Aliens and be come a great Nation once more!" The Wanioans soon started Shouting "Wanioa for The Wanioans!!!" and take up arms against The Cassiopeian Republic.

Dontgonearthere seconds the support of this rebbellion. Mr 47 himself has promised the nations support and aide.
In response we will sign over control of four of the new Leviathan class battleships (for the duration of the conflict) recently completed at Pax Drive Yards, as well as G2,500,000,000 in military aide at an extremly low interest rate.
Also, with the Wanioans permission, we will deploy a number of our expernt SpecOps force commanders to train the Wanioan military, as well as supplies and a small contingient of our own soldiers.

We urge the Wanioan govornment to look over the International Malls ample supply of military equipment, particularly the GLACORP storefront, where they can receive a %15 War Discount on all items. The link is located in the postscript of this message (OOC: IE: My sig :P)[/shameless plug]

----Communication to the Cassiopeian Republic----
(Universal Channel 23482.23)

While our military is unable to provide direct support for the Cassiopeian Republic due to our current policy of isolation, (Partially due to the fact that our space fleet is still in it's early stages of development.) The ES Governing Coucil has nonetheless decided to announce that it will try provide what ever support for refugees and other victims it can in this crisis. As goes your story, the Dominion is long gone, and the Republic has seemingly benign intentions. These rebels are fighting for a bygone era, and the citizens of the modern galaxy must be defended against their blood lust.

We are convinced that there must be a peaceful solution to this crisis, and we are intent of finding it. War will only threaten lives, and possibly ourselves.

(Please note, that support will only be given to those civilians inwittingly affected by any hostilities in this conflict, and not to any participating forces.)

Sincerely,
(Signed)

Interesting. Having seen the idiocity of the Cassopeian Dominion before, one can certainly see the reason behind this recent attack. At the same time, the regime change does seem sincere, and innocents do not deserve to suffer, on either side.

We would be willing to help resolve the situation, but first must know what is being planned.

Queen Gaia'ti Saha'tor said today about the Rebelion that, "We are not enemies but friends, a war will kill millions of beings and destroy everything we built over the last 10,000 Years." The Queen also ordered a fleet of Ships to Blockade the planet in hopes of forceing anyone who is helping the Rebels to back down and let peaceful ways be fond first, in hopes of stopping Bloodshed.

Wanioa City, Wanioa VI

Already, the signs that the rebelion had started were showing, a crowd of Wanioans had started to march on The Governer's Palace, firing Basters at the Staute of The old ruler of the Cassiopeia Galaxy.

The WFA soon was there, leading the attack on the Palace, "For Freedom!" was the Battle cry and they soon broke in, basting at the Battle Droids gruading the Governer, who was already out of there and on his way to the Homeworld.

The Rebel Flag soon was on the Palace, and the Rebelion was on...

A delegation of Cyrian Chancellors, diplomats, and ambassadors is traveling with a subsection of the Syrian starfleet, Seeking to secure a bloodless revolution, and convince The Cassiopeia Galaxy to sever it's ties and control over the Wanioan planet and peoples. While war is not a solution, neither is the continued opression of a people who obviously want no more to do with the Rule of the Cassiopeia Galaxy.

A call goes out to the leaders of the Cassiopeia Galaxy.
"We would like to meet with you to discuss the recent impending rebellion of the planet Wanioa. We would be very grateful if you would meet with us."

Meanwhile, a Cyrian scout descended, cloaked carefully, through the Wanioan atmosphere, bearing a single diplomat interested in holding discussions with the leaders of the Wanioan people.

OOC: TehInterWebGame, blowing up the planet may stop one revolution, but this generally makes a lot of people angry, and you suddenly have twelve rebellions to quell. You blow up those planets, and then theres more revolutions, or even revolutions in the homeworld!

IC:
Years after the conflict with the milky way, Hakurabi once again crosses paths with the Cassiopean Empire, now a republic.

<Long Formalities and Regime Change news, etc. Not going to waste posts on it.>

A exactly twenty Shield Cruisers materialise around the planet, after travelling at R20 (If you've read hitchhiker's guide, this is clearly far, far too fast.) and shorting out their warp systems. After taking up places almost in the atmosphere of the planet, beams extended to one another - and formed a total of 12 pentagonal planetary shields. The Cruisers themselves resided just inside this shield, at the vertices.

This forms a dodecahedron (12 sided polyhedron) around the planet, defending it from outside assault.

Shield cruisers were little more that shield projectors, power plants, and engines mashed together in an altogether not too shabby ship.

The shields composed of three seperate layers:

Kinetic repelling field - Actually a projected anti-gravity field, using the gravitational pull of the planet to slow down projectiles. For this reason, the cruisers are hovering just outside the atmosphere.

Energy Conversion Field - Coverts non-kinetic energy into colourful displays of harmless light. Filters down sunlight, but no stronger. Communications will get through, however.

Faster Than Light interdiction Field - Self Explanatory. Stops ships from warping straight inside the shield.

~~COMMUNICATIONS TO SHIPS~~
We are here to erect a high energy shield around the planet Wanioa VI in order to protect it from the inevitable hostilities. Should your ships wish to enter the area, feel free to contact the five cruisers surrounding any panel, and they will lower the shields long enough for your ships to enter or exit.

If you have any spare high-output reactors, it would help tremendously in any conflict. We are currently unable to provide any warships for the defense of the revolutionaries.

Would you please note, however, that it is a very simple matter of flying into the shields to exit.

Wanioa VI was more a boiling pot now, and one side was already starting the battle to put down the Rebelion...The Loyalists.

when The Rebelion started, a few Loyal Wanioans and another Race on Wanioa, a Green Skined Humaniod Race known as the Gyaians, joined forces to stop the Rebelion.

there were 230,000 Wanioan Loyalists and 3,000,000 Gyaians, which was good when there where about 785,000 Rebels in control of Wanioa City and more in the growing Rebelion that was now starting all over The Planet.

with the Hakurabi blocking any Cassiopeian Ships from coming, The Loyalists would have to fight the Rebels and make sure that The Hakurabi would be forced to retreat out of this Galaxy.

OOC: well it looks like the Rebelion is going on and there is nothing to stop the Loyalists.

OOC: Is it alright if one of us defenders take over the rebels? It would make sense. Take into account, though, that while the loyalists have the power of numbers, the rebels also have a sort of 'entrenchment advantage', as they are able to hide and set traps. Note that the very nature of the shield would likely allow maybe fast, small troop transports to land. It just means that you are unable to send warships. That would make for an interesting battle. The Shield is low enough, that if you sent ships with enough weapons to pierce the shielding around the cruisers themselves, they would crash into Wainoa IV, but the battle shields are strong enough to resist orbital bombardment.

The Troops I am sending are not heavy battle tanks, mind you. They are light assault vehicles, coupled with a bit of long range artillery (Merls).

IC:
~~TRANSMISSION TO SEBECIAN FLEET~~
Affirmative. The energy signatures of your ships has been noted.

Should your ships approach any panel, the cruisers immediately surrounding it will power it down temporarily, though this may change in the event of orbital attack.

You may pass through the barricade freely.
~~TRANSMISSION ENDS~~

Indeed, when the Sebacian ships approached the barricade, the energy field flickered and dissappeared when they passed through. It soon rematerialised, and returned to defending the planet from orbital bombardment.

As the conflict escalated, troops were being prepared for battle. Several transports were being stocked with a variety of Rangers, Merls, Jeffies, and Valiants, each armed with an assortment of beams, missiles, and cannons.

As the last PAVs were loaded in, the transports each in turn, began jumping through hyperspace, heading for Wainoa IV. This time, however, they were not overloading their engines, and would arrive around one month into the conflict.

(OOC: No problem at all - the transports are designed for all-medium insertion/extractions. The PAVs are small enough anyway. In more terrestrial worlds, they would be scouts or urban warfare units.)

(East Coast Federation: I personally feel it would be a better idea not to glass the planet until, at a minimum, the rebellion takes control of the planet. Otherwise, you could kill a lot of loyalists and a lot of people will be very angry.)

The FTLi shields went down for a split second, as five fully loaded transports matrerialised within the shields, and headed for Wainoa city.

Soon, the FTLi barricade was again online, and the transports were plummeting down into the depths, the PAVs ready to move out and fortify Wainoa city.

OOC: Could you provide some sort of naming rule for the Wainoans?

IC:
Soon, around five hundred PAVs had congregated in the centre of Wainoa City, and were discussing their plans for fortifying it when one of the transports piped up.

"Wide array radar detects large hostile force heading for Kajia! Estimated one week to arrival!"

"We have to intercept the convoy before it gets to the city!"

"Affirmative. We shall dispatch five squads to the location."

A large group of nervous Wainoans had gathered around the strange vehicles, some of them brandishing blades and small pistols. They were understandably shaken, having never seen such things before.

"Wh-who are you, and what d-do you want?" questioned a paticularly brave member of the rebels.

"Ah! It's the rebels! We're here to help you retake Wainoa from the Cassiopeans."

When they realised the machines were on their side, they grew in confidence.
One of the Wainoans stepped forward, wearing a sort of headband.

"I'm Gai Tai, the leader of the Wainoan Liberation Army."

"Ah, excellent! We've picked up a large force of Loyalists that we think we can take out. How many men can you round up in two hours?"

Taken aback by this sudden request, Gai Tai could only reply "What?"

"We need as much help as we can get to take out these guys. How many of you can use DI?"

The response was almost unanimous - "Huh?"

"I see we have a long way to go. Bring that gun over here."

A Wainoan walked up, holding a gun in her hands.

"Okay, you should be able to use the sonic cannons. Until we can train some of you, We'll hang on to the subs. Right - we need as many volunteers as possible in two hours."

The Wainoans shuffled about and looked at each other.

"You heard them, let's go!" yelled Gai Tai.

The Wainoans, hearing the order from their own leader, scurried off to form up a militia.

Soon, there were nearly a thousand Wainoan rebels boarding one of the transports, and recieving training for their sonic rifles through DI simulators.

Fifty of the PAVs were forming into squads and taking up positions in a pentagon around the transport, as they prepared themselves for the three hundred and seventy five thousand loyalists they were to face. The loyalists might have numbers, but they had guns.

OOC: The PAVs (having recieved reports from the shield cruisers) have been equipped with aqua-turbines and modified weapons, designed for combat in underwater environments.

Each squad consists of ten PAVs and has five Rangers (currently equipped with sonic pulse cannons), three Valiants (equipped with HE Jet Autocannons), and two Merls (equipped with Guided HE Torpedo Launchers).

The small force soon reached the Loyalist army, and all were steeled for the battle.

"In war, rashness precedes defeat. Capture who you can, but make sure they cannot fight." The words echoed through the transport, as last instructions were given to the Wainoans.

"So we are to show no mercy?" questioned one of the younger ones.

"Negative. We do not kill the wounded, or those who wish to surrender. However, they must be disarmed or incapacitated."

A murmur of relief spread through the rebels.

"However," the transport continued, "we are to take the first strike. They have the advantage of numbers, but we have the advantage of range. We will be deploying in five minutes. Please head to your nearest exit bay. Ensure your headset is turned on."

As the rebels sorted themselves out, the convoy had come to a halt, and the Merls were already with their torpedo launchers primed and waiting for the signal.

When the rebels exited, they moved into groups and moved near the Rangers, and waited.

"Fire!"

Streams of bubbles erupting from the twin torpedo tubes of the Merls signalled the opening of the battle.

The Wainoans and Rangers then proceeded to fire their weapons in the general direction of the Loyalist Convoy.

The first conflict of the Wainoan Liberation War had begun.

Just outside The System, far away from The enemy Blockade, The Cassiopeian Fleet came out of Hyperspace. The Fleet had 145 Ships in it and was ready to attack. The Fleet was near Wanioa VII, a Planet next to Wanioa VI and it was ready to fight.

The Valiants closed in, as their turrets fired HE jet harpoons, further explosions rocking the loyalists.

The rest of the battle group split and began moving as fast as they could, taking advantage of the packed Loyalist formation.

The transport also opened fire, several torpedo streams erupting from the front of the hull, and the signature ripples of sonic cannons.

"They've got sonic weapons! Keep moving, and don't let them hit you!"

"Rai Yai is down! Rai Yai is down!"

"Keep moving! We've got a lot of the buggers to take out!"

"ALPHA-SIX taking heavy damage!"

"Pull back for repairs! I've got their sonics locked, Take em out!"

"They can't all shoot, slice through them!"

"Keep moving! We've got a lot of the buggers to take out!"

"ALPHA-SIX taking heavy damage!"

"Pull back for repairs! I've got their sonics locked, Take em out!"

"There's too many of them!"

"They can't all shoot, slice through them!"

In the opening volleys, fifteen of the Rebels were dead, or incapacitated.

349 Loyalists dead.

The loyalists soon got out their own deadly surpirse, Sub Fighters, armed with Sonic Cannons, Baster Cannons made for fighting in Water, and torpedoes. The Fighters attacked the enemy, fireing The Sonic Cannons and Baster Cannonsm saveing the Torpedoes for later. unlike the Cassiopeian Sub Fighters, they were plioted by Living Beings.

The Loyalists contiuned to fire on the enemy, Baster Guns and Sonic Cannons fired on the enemy. it would be soon...very soon before the City fell into Loyalist hands.

(OOC: I can understand hiding personal sonic cannons, but full scale UFVs? Anyway, If you take my force out, you'll have to take out the entrenched forces in the city itself - Setian-Sebecians has fortified it. The Valiants also have other, more specialised weapons... The Vehicles have no true losses yet, being veterans. But how could so few Loyalists die from HE weapons? Not to mention the initial surprise attack, where many were sure to die from the HE torpedoes.)

The Valiant pilots almost leapt with joy (figuratively) when they saw battle subs approaching - This was precisely what their guns were for!

The veteran pilots soon increased turbine speed to maximum, and pulled behind the UFVs, using the advantage of having turrets to avoid the weapons of the subs, whilst constantly firing their HE jet harpoons (faster than sonics, but shorter range). Hatches in the fronts of the vehicles slid open, revealing an MLTS (Multi Launch Torpedo System). Guided (Friend-or-foe, coordinated by the transport) Torpedoes erupted from the MLTSs, and homed into the Sub-Fighters.

The Transport's Piloted Torpedoes began to home in on the Sub Fighters, as the Rangers and Merls concentrated on the main body.

The Rebel forces had taken to clinging on to the Rangers, and riding shotgun, as the faster, more experienced PAVs darted around the area, firing constantly.

However, many were killed by the surprise appearance of the UFVs, though they attempted to fire directly into the cockpit of the UFVs before they died.

The Sub Fighters attacked The PAV's, fireing The Torpedoes, the 120 Fighters of The Loyalist Forces fired at will. The Troops soon started the charge at the enemy, fireing The Sonic Cannons at the enemy, 8 of The Cannons were destroyed. The Loyalists yelled a Battle cry that would scare any enemy, and then they attacked, ready for Hand to Hand Combat.

(OOC: Why so few losses? Please take into account I have but 50 PAVs and 1000 Rebels, but they are toting heavy weaponry. High Explosives WILL cause significant damage. I also note that you never bothered to post losses for the surprise attack. If you keep doing this I'll bring in something more than PAVs... Anyways, I'll assume there are no guidance systems as they are unspecified.)

The PAVs (other than the valiants, who did something different) immediately took evasive maneuvers, the Rebels firing at the torpedoes. Turrets moved to take out any significant groupings of the Loyalists.

Streams of HE torpedoes continued to erupt from the launchers, zooming towards the UFVs, moving at an alarming rate.

The Valiants immediately fired off another three torpedoes at the crafts they were tailing, and pulled off to hunt other prey. The whole time, the rebels were firing into the cockpits of whatever UFVs they could see.

The Transport prepared for drastic maneuvres. The Kinetic Shielding came online, and the long range thrusters powered up. The turrets withdrew into the hull.

With a brief whirr, the huge transport (small starship) rocketed towards the advancing loyalists.

(The field is of a somewhat anti-grav type, and essentially 'flings' anything that touches it away. It also would provide a strong shield against the sonic cannons, seeing as how they use kinetic energy to 'vibrate' things to death)

A large portion of the standing army was destroyed, making the 145 ships a major section of the army. Discworlds are not simply to be thrown around, and I have a feeling that my cruisers will hold up for a significant amount of time, considering that my ships are orientated for lasting longer, as opposed to building a lot. Remember, your fleet, comprising of a lot of heavy ships, also consumes sizeable amounts of population.)

We now leave the fighting on the ground to observe the events occuring during these last months on Elysium, the Hakurabi capital.

"The Cassiopeans have violated the rights of the Wainoans, and are now attempting to seize the planet. Our ships are now in position around the planet, and preventing the Cassiopean armada from destroying the planet."

A cheer arose from the throng of minds listening.

"They are now attempting to kill the people, and have assembled a massive fleet to overwhelm the shields."

A hiss directed at the Cassiopeans was to be heard.

"However, we are now presented with a unique opportunity."

Murmurs among the crowd, along with more interested minds gathering was to be the reaction.

"Their homeworld is nearly undefended by this agressive action. I propose we strike at the heart of our enemy, and end their militaristic ways!"

The almost deafening cheer of approval showed the people of Hakurabi were willing to fight.

Two days later, a referendum showed that this was true, and just over thirty ships departed for Cassiopea Prime.

As the Cassiopean Armada approached Wainoa VII, Hakurabi's approached the Cassiopean Homeworld.

(OOC: That's what Artillery's for. Aegis class shield cruisers (as opposed to Palisade class, which were used in the defense of Wainoa VII) have weaker shields, though have two-way energy masking. This also means that the fleet will appear as a 'black spot' to most sensors. Note that the offensive also means that the battlestations will be understaffed. Detection is key in space, as it is so large. If 64 ships can control 1km square, 512 ships would be needed to control 1km cubed. Such a small force is capable of dodging the systems on the way.)

The outskirts of Cassiopea prime was where the battle truly began.

The fleet materialised at the outer edges of the system, and dropped two way masking. It was time to strike at the heart of the tiger.

The fighters remained where they were, for the moment, for their target was not yet to be seen.

"Take it down!"

The five battlecruisers fired their cannons at the first battle station, far out in the system, plasma blasts raking it before the weapons could retaliate. For the force itself was almost a mobile battlestation, shielded and fitted with siege weapons.

The new Broadside class not only was fitted with its traditional four three-barreled Rapid Fire Long Range Plasma Cannons (RFLRPCs for short), but now with Anti-Matter Missile racks (It's come a long way, and is currently in its fourth incarnation [2nd in NS])

The missile racks erupted in light, as several missiles were fired towards the battlestation.

The shields then masked the energy signatures, and moved to another location.

In Cassiopea Prime...

"Incoming fleet. Looks a lot smaller."

"Prepare for counterattack. Track their FTL signatures, and hit them the moment they drop out."

"Signatures within FTLi range. Prepare to swat them."

The Aegis Cruisers disabled the passive cloak (To not do so would be firing blind.), whilst the Sensor Cruiser engaged FTLi.

When the ships materialised, they were greeted by streams of plasma fire.

In Upsilon Andromedae...

Active scans were only conducted near inhabited planets, and as such, the Cruisers were able to approach to around 10 light seconds from Elysium before they were detected.

The moment they were, an Icosahedron (20 sided shape) of Palisade Shield Cruisers immediately formed up around all inhabited systems, and activated.

Sensor ships whirred to life, and provided VERY exact pinpointing (Multi layer), and almost a hundred battlecruisers left their patrols and materialised near the capital an a matter of seconds.

Hundreds of frigates, armed with an assortment of weaponry came online, and rose from the planets.

More still privateers, from Plymouth, the Capitalist planet (As opposed to Elysium, the Communist one) arrived on the scene.

"Attention Cassiopean Vessels. You have been detected in Hakurabi Space whilst attempting to obscure yourself from our sensors. Readings show you are armed. Surrender at once or you shall face retaliation. This is a warning. Now repeating..."

The ships found themselves surrounded with nearly a thousand normally-dormant armed ships, with all weapons trained on them. Shield Cruisers surrounded them, facing inwards to defend the other ships.

In Upsilon Andromedae...

The space rays and battleship attempted to free the Black Cruisers, who still believed they were unknown.

"You appear to have made your choice."

The ships fired on the black cruisers, destroying them. (Look, there is no way even dedicated shield cruisers could take THAT much damage. You're looking at the bulk of an army firing on a few trapped targets.)

The Shield Cruisers moved to create a wall in front of the ships coming under fire, as they engaged thrusters.

The Battlecruisers were rocked with plasma fire a few times before they were able to move.

"Yellow alert! Fire from eleven Organic ships and a Battleship!"

"Nail the bloody battleship!"

The frigates and privateers activated combat thrusters, and moved in claw formations to strike at the battleship, beams raking the hull of it.

The battlecruisers also began moving, and had launched their full complements of Anti-matter missiles at the ships, knowing resupply was readily available.

The entire force was soon circling the twelve ships at different angles, and firing on them.

In Cassiopea Prime... (Rewound to before the supposed 'warp signature'. Again, next time could you declare ALL forces first, instead of just pulling them out of a hat?)

"Right, let's hit it with artillery. Use full salvos!"

"Don't launch the fighters yet, slag theirs with the PDFs."

"Acknowleged."

"Cycling shields..."

The shield cruisers began moving around the fleet, causing the shields to rotate, and evenly spreading any shield damage.

12 Space Rays and one Battleship, the Paidane were two get the Hakurabi Fleet to try to stop them from entering the system, they were to make the way clear for one group of Ships that never were used in normal fleet ops, The Black Curisers. named because they were Black in color and could Cloak and stay cloaked, even in Hyperspace and in a wormhole. Armed with 20 Laser Cannons, 8 Turbo Lasers, and two repeating Ion Cannons, these Ships were to stay Cloaked and then appear over Elysium, and send their fighter, Republic class fighter, 4 Squadrons with 50 fighters in each.

the number of Black curisers: 13.

the Raiders soon went into the wormhole and headed for the Milky Way.

((any time... although I approve of the fleets you have alloted to the other two battles, for they are of sufficient size, but not overextending. although I would also point out that you have way too many fighters on those carriers, make them 1/5 size (so like 200 fighter/bombers total a carrier if they had no other weapons besides maybe a point defese turret, or make them around 3km... any more gets rediculous. a normal star destroyer is almost a huge hanger and they have about 100 fighter/bomber/transports etc.).))

(OOC: You're forgetting the battlecruisers... They're only one size down from battleships, you know.)

As the raiders moved towards Elysium, Shield cruisers formed up in an Icosahedron around it (You only need 12 vertices to make one.), whilst the battlecruisers and frigates pounded on the raiders.

Starbombers rose from the surface of the planet, and began bombing the battleship.

Nearly a hundred heavy torpedoes were released on the battleship, while thousands of light fusion missiles from surface bases rocketed towards the raiding ships.

Government Police VTOLs launched from their hangars (A certain gifted pilot actually managed to take out a battleship with one), and moved to engage the space rays, trusting that their diminuitive size and heat readings would obscure them from enemy scanners.

(OOC: I'm referring to the Havocs from G-Police, and the 'gifted pilot' is Slater, the main character. Of course, they're modified, but their loadouts are similar.)

The Holy Republic of Vespucii, in response to the rebellion that has been flaming up in the Galaxy, has decided to release a large naval force on behalf of the Rebel Alliance (OOC: Sounds kinda like Star Wars, but it ain't).

5 Dreadnoughts, specially crafted battleships with more powerful guns and more armor, but considerably less speed.
3 Carriers, each with a full load of one hundred ships: seventy-five fighters and twenty-five dropships.
1 Repair Platform, capable of servicing two full Dreadnoughts at once.
5 Frigates, smaller and less armed than the average battlecruiser, but much faster and maneuverable.
10 Corvettes, the smallest capital ships built by Betulguese, they have a mere two primary laser turrets, but a full array of missile launchers and three Magnetic Accelleration Cannons, which propel a heavy piece of metal like a supersized bullet at an enemy ship using electromagnetic forces.

The entire fleet is being sent, with some of the most experienced admirals and captains in the entire fleet, to the main field of battle.
ETA: three hours in Light Space, maximum speed.

Admiral Carrington, in charge of the Dreadnought Artemis, has the command of the fleet, he has customized his ship at one of the black market ports so that the bridge is deep within the center of all the armor, making it the most difficult part to penetrate. He has a 360 degree view of the space around him due to a gigantic holographic dome displaying what is going on in the universe.

The current view he has is the rainbow-colored, wavy distortion with a steel tinge that signifies travel through the strange dimensions that constitute Light Space, it is slightly dizzying.
He barked out some commands to the people at the weapons station;
"Charge the laser turrets to a 5 megaton output, turn off the gravity generators and use the extra power to supercharge the EMA Cannons, and make an announcement about it beforehand.
"Also, put some of the surplus energy into the shields, I want to come out guns blazing, and well defended," he instructed one of his officers.

He took another glance at the spectacle of superluminous speed through light space before calling his communications officer to the bridge. In less than five minutes, the young, but experienced man was there.
"Yes sir?" He said, saluting.
"Send a message to the captains of the other two Dreadnoughts that I want them to come out... a hundred thousand miles from the planet. Tell the Corvettes and the Frigates to go twenty thousand miles ahead of us, I want the Carriers to come out with us, and the Repair Platform to enter subspace about twenty thousand miles behind us," responded Carrington.
"Yessir," said the young officer, and ran from the bridge as fast as he could, half in obedience, half because the sight of Light Space made him uneasy.
"We'll arrive at our destination in twenty minutes, sir." Said the navigations officer from the other side of the bridge.
"Good," responded Admiral Carrington, "get the gunners to their stations and prepare to open up the missile launchers, let's start this thing."

[So-so] The discworld slowly fell burning down to the planet [Worst Case] and detonated in a brilliant blaze, annihilating many. [/Multiple cases]

"We have destroyed the sword of our enemy! Now we shall break the shield!"

Antimatter missiles stowed for the moment (to use them would be murder), the battlecruisers turned their attentions to the planet.

As the starships acquired the locations of the cannons, down below, things were not going quite as smoothly.

The aftereffects of the destruction of the discworld having wiped out many combatants and crippling others, the EMP blackout gave the Cassiopean fighters a brief advantage.

"Plasma round, as close as possible to the primary admin building without damaging it."

"Engage."

A single plasma blast hurtled into the atmosphere.

A single explosion ocurred just beside the palace (or other similar building)

A single wall fell from the palace.

(OOC: It's a colossal bluff on both sides. You can't afford to destroy the homeworld entirely, because then the enemy has nothing to lose. If you threaten to damage it, then you have bargaining power. This is essentially stalemating. I'm simultaneously protecting my homeworld, and protecting my ships. Cassiopea cannot triumph over my homeworld without endangering his own. Neither can he threaten my ships. Whilst still a bluff, it's a dangerous one to try and call. Anyhow, I'd really like to conclude the attack on my homeworld, since this one is currently stalled.)

The Cassiopeian Fleet reached where it wanted to go, a Wormhole that led to The Homeworld. Wormholes were the way to go from one place to another fast, other then Hyperspace. The Fleet soon entered the wormhole and head from the homeworld.

(OOC: You DO realise that if the fleet forces mine into a corner, they are liable to panic and destroy the planet anyway? Especially if you take a freighter out - burning ship with cargo of anti-matter warheads and frantic enough to arm them whilst going down is not only going to cause irreparable damage to the infrastructure of the planet, but also runs the risk of destabilising the planetary orbit. Think carefully about your retaliatory strike. Anyway, can we finish the attack on my homeworld, or should I assume I'm victorious? Mind you, I don't seem to recall your fleet finishing the 'delay'... So some were left behind/destroyed?)

"Enemy fleet speeding up... Appear to have used a wormgate..."

"Send them a 'present'."

The nearest battlecruiser sent an entire salvo into the wormhole, a freighter moving up to reload.

"People of Cassiopea - Every 15 minutes we shall fire on a city block until your military leaves the area."

A plasma blast hurtled down an annihilated a commercial district.

(OOC: Just because I explained it was a bluff does not mean that it can be ignored. The threat is not exactly hollow, you realise. The fleet is perfectly capable of glassing the planet.)

2,674 Civilians killed

The Planetary Defenses soon started Firing on the enemy Fleet, Plasma Cannons and Turbolasers blasted. Now, the Cassiopeians were Mad as hell.

The Fleet came out of the Wormhole, Firing on the Battleship, at the same time, Thousands of Fighters, armed with Anti-Ship Plasma Bombs and Blasters, headed for the ships. Now The Aliens would see the power of The Cassiopeian Galaxy

(OOC: Now your planet is totally screwed, you know. You were warned. Say, I thought I took out your planetary guns?)

The battle group was caught totally by surprise, and were defeated entirely in the initial assault.

Two battlecruisers were able to 'eject', and send hyperwave patterns of their minds and memories before exploding in great blazes of atomic fire.

"ENGAGE DESTRUCT SEQUENCES AND DESTROY THE PLANET BEFO-"

A freighter armed the multitude of antimatter warheads in its cargo as it plummeted, burning, to the planet.

The initial shockwave was nothing to what would happen when the rest of the warheads detonated.

The side of Cassiopea erupted in the brilliant fires of a thousand suns, permanently destabilising the planet's orbit, and sending it on a collision course with the sun.

The surviving ships made a desperate attempt to ram the Cassiopean Armada, reactors and weaponry rapidly destabilising.

Already, some had been torn apart by the fire of the armada.

It was now not only a war for the Wainoans. It was a war for the Galaxy.

On Wainoa, the fighting had stopped, and both sides were now doing naught but blinking at the news.

-------------
The interview of a survivor...

"Sir! The fleet A-Ambushed us! Others D-dead!"

"What?"

"Missile... Freighter... Destructed on Ho-homeworld..."

"WHAT? They're bound to launch a counterattack then!"

"Yes..." And with that, the survivor's thought patterns trailed off into unconsciousness.

"We need to bring all dormant ships online, fast!"

Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, and Battlecruisers, laying dormant for years, began to awaken, as pilots were once again recalled to active duty.

"Send a message to Plymouth! We need all our forces for this one!"

Privateer armies began being assembled, as shields were prepared around the planets.

Space yards and Training Facilities began to work around the clock.

The enemy had numbers, and they would need to work fast to beat that.

Sensor ships were patrolling the system, prepared to send out the alarm should any ships attempt to enter the system.

(OOC: Remember, there has to be a recover-and-rearm period between all battles. Your fleet just can't start on their journey again right away. They're going to have to go in for repairs, resupply, and recuperation. No crew can constantly be on the battle ready. Do that, and you kill your morale.)

IC: 89,000,000,000 Civilians Murdered

With the Homeworld Destroyed, The Cassiopeians wanted blood, destroying the enemy Homeworld wouldn't do it, but Invadeing Hakurabi Space and Taking it's Colonies and attacking the enemy Homeworld last would end Hakurabi's Part in The Rebelion and End The Hakurabi them selves.

A New Government was set up on the Jungle world of Hayia, on the outer rim of The Cassiopeia Galaxy. The New Government's order was to build up the Fleet and Droid Army, and once it was ready, The Military would start a Invasion of enemy Space, attacking any enemy Colonies, Mineing Colonies and Planets that grow food would be the targets.

The Cassiopeian needed Help from Allies like The Imperial Navy, East Coast Federation, even TFU would do to help end Hakurabi once and for all.

Captain Picard sat staring intensely at the viewscreen onboard the bridge of the star ship Enterprise.

CAPTAIN PICARD - "Well Number One...I would say the time is right to make our appearence known, wouldn't you say?"

RIKER - "Arrrrrgh Captain...I be ready for some plundering!"

CAPTAIN PICARD - "Excellent. Let's give those scurvy Hakurabi dogs a little surpise shall we?"

DATA - "Roger Captain...shall I engage the super-ultamate shields and the universe jumping machine?"

CAPTAIN PICARD - "Damn straight DATA! To the rest of the crew, arm the phasor cannons, load the torpedo bays, and get me a fresh cup of Earl Grey tea. We're about to have ourselves a groin-grabbingly good war!"

And a groin-grabbingly good war they were about to have indeed. As the Enterprise engaged the universe jumping machine and appeared right in the middle of the Hakurabi fleet, the enemy truly had no idea what they were in for...

OOC: But he RPs on the scale of an entire GALAXY! The fact that the heart of the empire has been totally annihilated means that splintering is inevitable. With a country, maybe a month is possible, but with an entire galaxy, it would take, if one was lucky, a minimum of 4 years with immediate military unification.

With such a large area, every political leader in the galaxy could mark out entire systems for themselves. The military can definitely unify the galaxy, but it still would take a lot of time.

Which reminds me...

"oh, well, that's a different matter entirely, i suppose tyhat they may need some re-inforcements. deploy the first Armada to their homeworld to aid in the inevitable defence effort."

"there is another thing sir... one of our fleets has dissappeared."

"I'll deal with that later, just deploy that armada!" (refrence to a different thread :P )
==========================================================

high over the primary terran capitol planet of Terra XVII, an armada, 100,000 ships strong activated their rift-drives and entered the portals that were formed and would take them to the homeworld of the strange, crystaline creatures known as the Hakurabi.

Transmition to Hakurabi government: Greetings, this is Terran Alliance Armada Group I, we have been dispatched to aid you in the defence of your home from the inevitable attack by Cassiopian forces after the destruction of their capitol. We are even willing to dedicate the OMEGA Cannon to the defence of your home.

(the OMEGA Cannon is a weapon that fires through a rift-gate so as to hit a target almost immediatly no matter where it is. At full power the OMEGA Cannon can cause stars to self-destruct)

OOC: I will reduce the number to 100,000, and there are 3 capital ships in the fleet, the rest are battlecruisers, carriers, and other fleet craft (cruisers, destroyers and frigates). also, rift-travel is done by opening a wormhole from one place to another and traveling streight through, I doubt that FTLi would stop that (wouldn't it also just drag craft out of jump? cause that is the premise behind a terran Interdictor Cruiser). The OMEGA cannon is usually just fired at the planet or city destroying level, system destruction level is for emergencies only.

IC: the massive fleet was suddenly pulled out of jump at the edge of the star system. this came as a shock to the crews as they were traveling in rift-drive, but after they recovered from their shock they sent the pre prepared transmition and began the jorny toward the Hakurabi homeworld.

((According to your civ, 1% of your population... ie. military power, would be 5.25 million.
I will assume then that 100,000 ships would be your entire space navy, and would be mostly fighter size vessels and small crew supply transports.

(OOC: What's your definition of 'capital'? I usually classify anything from cruiser onwards to be capital. You realise that your fleet is currently 500 times my entire navy? And that's not counting size.

In my honest opinion, I feel you generally get a better kill:loss ratio when your fleet is small enough to move around.

And with FTLi, it's a generic technology. Unless it's natural phenomena, and therefore non-portable, FTL interdictors will always drag ships out of any Faster-than-light Travel.
