Operation Blutkreuz
Kaiser Martens
24-02-2005, 03:51
Rhanland, a peaceful democratic country the size of about France, had received several intelligence reports that their cousins and neighbours, the people of the Martens Kaiserreich, might attack. They chose to ignore this, but it proved to be a fatal decision...
The forces of Kaiser Martens attacked in the morning of Rhanland's unity day, catching them offguard, using their brand new Panzer Tiger IVs and Maus 3 tanks to eliminate the little defense there was.....when the army finally got there to try to stop Martens forces, then they were attacked by an unseen neighbor, The Sovereignty (Soviet Sovereignty), right through their unprotected underbelly. The attack was overwhelming and everything was crushed mercilessly....it would seem that those two completely different nations - An imperialistic right wing Kaiser and a Communist - had allied, something that historically would make no sense....
The operation being a success, the two Leaders split the Rhanlands up and held a celebration before Kaiser Martens gave a victory speech, announcing that he would rebuild every single building he had to take down. However, the Rhanlanders would not accept them so easily....they were deeply attached to their democracy, and asked the international community for support. Would they hear the call? or would the Rhanlanders be doomed to be under Martens and the Soviets power?

Engineering Brigades were quick to follow the victory as hastily placed Checkpoint Stations were erected between the entire new Sovereignty/Kaiser Border, Fences lined with electrical output generators to prevent any attempted escapes. HMG Nests composed of dual RPK-5's emplaced to ensure a tight squeeze on security..
Soldiers were sent by the Squads to search every house, every building, every street alley for a head-count on the standing population on the Sovereignty's side, then would be compared with national numbers issued to the populace every few years or so.
And the head count Was!....More than half of what the recent National tally was...The entire 213th Zhukev Shock Corps. was emplaced with the sworn duties of keeping the new distinct borders of the Kaiser and the people of the Sovereignty the way they were, and if that ment shooting any rushing citizens on sight, then so be it..
The number the Sovereignty's side was over were ordered out of their homes and into the streets. Then, as each group edged up in fear of being the next up for the firing squads, which already had their workout today from eliminating pittiful resisting citizens...But no, they were wrong, these people were not the Sovereignty's people, they were posession of the Kaiser himself, along with everyone else on the other side of the Sovereignty's new border..
Twenty T-98's, each attatched two Companies of Spetsnaz, were ordered to march behind the Rhanland people gathered in the streets; herding them towards the gates of the checkpoints..Where on each side, Infantry of the 3rd, 7th, and 16th Armies stood in Formation, AK's planted firmly at their sides, arms arched in firm salutes..
The Spetsnaz boot-stomping, combined with the roar that the T-98's gave was more than enough to make the citizens go where they were being herded..More groups of Citizens stood by, they had not been chosen for this death march, they were part of the Sovereignty now, and were watching as their brothers, sisters, parents, grand parents, and even sons and daughters were being sent towards a vastly unknown doom..
Step by step, the tanks and Spetsnaz-men moved in almost perfect harmony, the Tanks leading the Spetsnaz Companies. After the open gates reached in sight, the citizens broke out in open sprints towards the other side, as the Infantrymen began to yell out their own outfit lyrics, mostly religious words ment to inspire courage and woo away fear..With so many different outfits present, it was a bustle of yelling.
This literally chaotic atmosphere had sent all but one boy fleeing to the Kaiser part of the country, a boy in a famished town who obviously was too young and foolish to know what he was doing..The four leading T-98's halted as each let out a mechanized tone, their main turrets aiming dead center at the boy, and still he stood..It was only until a smarter older girl inched up behind him, eyes staring fearfully at the tanks, that the boy was dragged across the other side, the gates closed as soon as his foot left the Sovereignty side of the city..
Orders were shouted as the vast number of troops presented presented arms and marched away, leaving only the 213th to their duty. As for the open lands which occupied many parts of the vast electrical fence, small makeshift camps were set up, and mobile patrols of Half-Tracks, APC's, and LAV's took an immediate and active scouting routine.
The Sovereignty's side of the table was set..

Kaiser Martens

The troops of Der Kaiser remained in there then with two purposes: Eliminating any resistance on the spot, and helping the actual reconstruction of the area. In the first days the resistance was rather fierce but as soon as the new buildings started to spring up, and when everyone got their food and water, thing started to calm down lightly.
Martens continued with a quick recovery policy, which caused the Rhanlanders to be split in two factions, the Pro-Kaisers and the Antikaisers. At times these two groups would fight each other, and the soldiers of the Wehrmacht would of course make sure to shoot the Antis down at once. It was a climate of chaos and fear, but as more and more rebels fell thing started to become more normal. And Kaiser kept investing on his new land, determined to make the people there be his, whether they liked this or not.
He said, in a brief interview:
The policy for Rhanland is the following.
He grinned - You help the Kaiser, you get food, home, and a job.
You don't...well.... - sighing lightly - I guess you'll find your place in the Valhalla... - Then he chuckled.
After that they went and enjoyed the weekly sight of a rebel Rhanlander being publically flogged and then shot in the back of his neck before his body was burnt. This instilled great fear among people, who no longer dared oppose...
"You see. We have to get rid of the scum that goes against me. Then, for those that accept me, I can make Rhanland much better as a whole. Look at the people in the KM Mainland! The more they cooperated the more civil rights and liberties they achieved. The same thing will happen here, but for now it's population-"detox" time. And, yes, my troops will remain there in the city especially our beloved Wasserfall AA and FLAK. We don't want any sneak attacks from any pseudo-democratic nation"
Truth be told, those who opposed the Kaisers' rules suffered a violent death. But all those that did not, even the last of them, had currently still a home, food and even clothes. Martens finally announced that the invest would continue until Rhanland was as much of a nice place to live as the KM Mainland, and that in six months he would start with political reforms to give more freedom and civil rights to the people of Rhanland.
"Democracy. Who needs it. Bleh." He spoke as the first trailer of technological goods entered the city...the basic necesities, he had already covered. "Starving is a bad thing....." he said as he stepped into his personal Airplane which then headed back to Martensheim.

And so on and so forth. Martens would continue with his policy of reconstruction, using the new found natural resources to make up for the economic impact. Gradually, there would be less and less kills, until Rhanland would just be a piece more of the Kaiser's map. Also, eventually the Rhanlanders would enjoy the same rights as any citizen of the Martens Kaiserreich, which includes Very Good (fluctuating with excellent) civil rights. (Though the politics are decided only by Martens and his advisors)
Soon enough if the process continues undisturbed, the million of people that died would become, only a number, the people would forget it, and Martens would have more and more acceptance each month it passed.
That is, if nothing disturbs it.

The envoy ran into the ministry of defence's office.
"Herr minister, herr minister!"
"Calm down a bit" The minister of defence said to the envoy, pouring him a glass of water.
"Now, what is it?"
"Rhanland has been occupied!"
"By the Kaiser marten i assume"
"Well, yes, but.. He has allied himself with Soviet Sovereignty"
"Hmm.. A right wing, and a comunist country working together? Hm, that's something i wouldn't have predicted, thank you, you might go"
======= 1 hour later =======
Manfred Kaltenbach, minister of defence, calmly walked in to the office of the minister of defence. She looked up behind her desk
"Yes?"
"I Guess you've heard the news about Rhanland"
"Yes?"
"Do you think we should do something?"
Adele looked at Manfred, as examening him. Manfred hated that look
"Are you out of your mind? Those two nations together have a population almost 4 times our population. Imagine what they can do to us. They would have us anihilated before we even can say oops"
"Yes, but. Who said something about war, mein Frau. My idea was to send an agent to Rhanland, to find out if there is any active resistance movement against the agressors, and if there is, well. They have some natural resources in that nice little country. If we send the resistance weapons of all kind, and give them some trianing etc. Well. If they succeed, we will have a good contact with them."
"Hmmm.." Adele poured herself a glas of whiskey "Sounds like a somewhat decent idea from you, for once. Sure, I'll send and agent"
======= 1 hour later =======
Agent Johannes Mühlegg watched the paper he had in his hands. He was to go to an occupied country and find a resistance movement that maybe didn't exist.
Ah well, he thought. Might need soem vacation. He looked at his papers. This time he was to be a wine merchant. That was good, he liked wine! And a visa into Rhanland, fake of course, but it looked real enough.
He walked towards the cab waiting for him. A short ride to the airport, and 4 flights later, he would land at his destination. This could be fun, he thought.

The Agent would land under heavy occupation on the Sovereignty side,as the Kaiser had yet to allow incoming flights, and those who would try to fly in would've recieved radio warning and multiple warning shots from grund AA emplacements. Already crowds were brewing at the Airport; Sovereignty Security Troops had set up a two pronged line, keeping those coming in from leaving, and those wanting to leave from leaving, An Officer stood on a higher platform, addressing the crowd in native Rhanland tongues for them to back away, those on flights into Rhanland would find multiple a single Fighter Wing being attatched to all inbound Passenger Liners, taking Passive measures to make sure their flights Into the country were sealed.
The likes were happening at all Airports, as actual Infantry went through baggages and belongings in search for any weapons or things of that nature. Eventually Armored Convoys consisting of Lightly-Armed Vehicles, being of Assault Nature or the likes, would begin to make their appearences around all possible entrances and exits for the Airports.
The Sovereignty had already set up a temporary Command Central for all incoming/outgoing military forces in one of the larger Cities on the coast, too inland for any other country besides KM to cause any harm too, and with the Presence of three entire Sovereignty Fleets, the likes of breaking through such net was hardly anything to sudgest to even the boldest of Commanders.
Entire Companies were being diverted towards Borderland Security Purposes, setting up tight, numerous check-point stations on all inbound highway or other road systems, tieing up incoming traffic for miles upon endless mile.
As for additional Military Deployments, The Krifgrad 41st Peoples Division, made of entirely Volunteers was loading off at the nearest dock, along with other Outfits and additional Equipment..The Sovereignty wasnt finished yet, it seemed as if they were still edgy..And with such caution, comes great force..Due to a Pact the Sovereignty signed after the establishment of a Puppet Government in Koronov, The Sovereignty had never displayed such Arsenal, and they hadn't even deployed Nuclear Weapons yet..And wouldnt until their establishment was a firm, unmovable one..But until then, Weapons weilding massive, Non-Nuclear Warheads would have to suffice, and as such, The V-12 MRLS was being deployed, One-Hundred and Five in total, all moving towards the border the Sovereignty's side had with another, small nation, this one run by a Republican Government..
By the end of the day they would be within striking distance of the dozen or so major cities which were near the Sovereignty's Rhanland Border. The 3rd and 16th Armies had loaded up their entire arsenal and was moving towards the very same border, slowing their pace so they would be ready by atleast nightfall..
==============================================
(Note mr agent man, I am not attacking you, attacking an NPC)
Exactly 14 hours from the arrival of the V-12's..
The Night was lit up, as 45 Warheads packing an equivilant explosive impact as 45 tons of TNT, screamed through the skies and onwards towards the major cities. Long-range Artillery had opened up on the few Military Targets near the border, enmasse as a Tank screening force moved ahead of the main Infantry groups..
Each Tank force would take the same approach, line up on the hilly groves which lined the countries border with Sovereignty Rhanland, and let Mobile Artillery Platforms bearing 200mm guns and Heavy Mobilised Mortars, bearing 402mm guns begin shelling the city at will, afterwords the tanks would join in.
Minutes would seperate the Infantry and Tanks as the V-12 Payloads began reigning down on the cities, the lush night-life being abrupted forcefully as shells erupted amoungst entire hordes of unarmed citizens, the warheads sending shards of metal, and concrete spanning multiple meters hurling through the air, while the explosion itself was enough to impale a 45 foot wide crater in buildings.
Screams and shouts sounded as finally Sirens were sounded, and Police along with Medical Vehicles began fleeing to help their tax payers..
Over the hills which the tanks had set up a loose formation, the 3rd and 16th Armies charged with a fierce scream, the downhill run and the sheer ammount of anticipation, a single soldier being surrounded by hundreds of thousands of others, the bond was unbreakable, as Soldiers rushed into the streets, taking the few citizens who surrendored prisoner, while still chasing the rest.
Anti-Terrorist and Rapid-Responce Teams were already deployed as the Sovereignty Infantry were met with a hail of small calibre SMG fire and Pistol ammunitions.
The swarms continued as due to reloading times, the Law Enforcers did just the opposite of their occupation, they caused havoc. Overwhelmed and outnumbered the Law Enforcement Officers dropped like flies, the Soldiers continueing to pour in, each platoon seperating from the main group and heading into alleys and buildings to secure any and all occupants.
===========================================
-Following the Ground Invasion from Sovereignty Rhanland, a seperate Naval Invasion was unleashed upon the many harbor cities..
The Sovereignty's Ground Forces were meer flies compared to its Naval Force, posessing the greatest Navy within all the USSR, the Sovereignty was not afraid to use such power.. But this situation was different..
Instead, Minor Boats, tens of thousands of them, carrying a few Squads max made their way towards the harbors, ventral electric motors making their approach soundless as the Marines onboard prepared for their assault. By this time the nations Republican Draftees were just being deployed, a meer Three-Thousand men..And they werent even doing it correctly either.
The Marines would unload by the masses as light towers and the such were taken out by silenced weapons. The Shadowed walkways were flooded with hidden men as they continued to come in, Marines now having to hop from boat to boat to get ashore.
Traditional Soviet Flag-bearers were mixed within the groups, as finally whistles blew and a thundering cry of unprovoked anger was let out, along with the ear-shattering sounds of boots, too many to count.
The Republican Conscripts were not as offguard as the Sovereignty had anticipated, as LMG nests and infantry let loose into the crowds of Marines. Marine Marksmen, who were making their way onto buildings and higher-elevated crates would soon begin picking off the nest men, while the horde of Marines would clash into the Republican lines and force Hand-to-hand melee combat, something the Marines excelled exceptionaly with compared to the standard infantry of the Sovereignty's Army.
The rest of the country would be unphased until the mourning, as 23 Cities(12 from the Sovereignty Rhanland Front/11 from the Marine Naval Front) would go silent, while purging and clensing would take place, the same routines as the rest of the cities.

Kaiser Martens

During the last times the Reichswehr had seemed to retreat 1/3 of it's forces back to Kaiser Martens, however, it would soon come to light that what they did was skipping the main bunker lines and defenses to defend the land of the south the Soviets attacked. Out of the blue, Panzer Tiger I, IIs, Panthers, and others emerged from the forest in a perfect formation which served as a defensive ring to the mobilized infantry in the centre, also the artillery and AA guns going there, a proportion of them being self proppeled and ready.
The reason that in Rhanland then flights were now allowed is so to reload the Luftwaffe with supplies, then going on a massive strike towards the land that was now being attacked. Three groups of fighters and bombers mixed headed
forth to destroy all strongpoints and cities that opposed with enough strength, weakening the troops of the enemy before actual land-land battle began, and aiding the ground troops when this was needed.
The land troops continued in the same formation and headed for the main cities, only having to change their direction three times while doing so before finally moving freely onto the capital city. The roughest opposition was there, there was a battle in open field that was won with some losses, then the enemy tried guerilla in-city tactics but these failed due to the Brummbär tanks that destroyed the buildings, soon forcing an unconditional surrender and then only continuing to pacify the land there.
Over in Rhanland things continued to get better. It was funny the contrast, how it was suddenly all perfect there while hell had broken loose here now in the south. These people opposed more roughly, so they had it much more roughly at first. Martens, still, announced that once the last rebels would be subdued, he'd apply a similar reconstruction policy, like in Rhanland. He already was pulling in food into the cities so the people would not starve...
(Those people that arrived in the boat are in the Soviet side, not mine, by the way.)
There was a somewhat chaotic Nationalist undeground group over in Rhanland, the leaders had been executed, so the organization was no longer so great. They had some hidden leftover weaponry, but only small guns...
The Kaiser's policy with rebel was straightforward and simple: Death.
Many people when they saw how he was rebuilding the country began to despise the nationalist even though they were also Rhanlanders, thing is, the better the Rhanlanders behaved the more freedoms and things they would have, so they'd fear the Kaiser's oppression and oppose the Nationalist "For Rhanland's good" Noone had died of hunger or poverty, after all...
It was a strange thing, what most Rhanlanders felt about Martens. A mix of fear, respect, and yet hidden thankfulness.

Ahh...No, You guys still dont understand, The fact that He'd need a larger ship to deploy it defeats your ability to deploy between my ships..
Plus Rhanland has quite a small Coastline, small enough so that my two Fleets are well within visual sight of each other, ATLEAST..Which means Fleets fielding Atleast 63 Ships, with a 50 mile or so border to protect means, Welp, That his lil Craft could easily be detected.
That, and even if he does manage to somehow get into city, He'll be in for suprises. It doesnt really bother me.

Mühlegg looked at the soldier as he looked thrue his bag. He wasn't worried, he had nothing out of order in his bag, except one wine bottle too much and a small swiss army knife (with a cork screw to open the wine bottle), but, no one is perfect. The Nieder Ostlandish Sicherheitsdienst had given him a list of things he could, and could not bring into Rhanland.
The only thing that did worry him was that if he got in to any trouble, he wouldn't have any weapons to defend himself with. And if someone was shooting at you with a gun, it didn't matter that you had a black belt in Karate.
While the soldier continued to search his bags, he took out a small city map out of his pocket. He had heard of one hotel still standing and that was open. He hoped there was some avaible rooms there, as he didn't want to sleep outside.
He looked around in the airport, and sighed over the soldier, who wasnt exactly the fastest person to do this kind of work, but, then again, he DID have two suit cases, and one brief case with him, and the soldier probably didnt want to do a bad job.
Everywhere there was soldiers, he was almost the only civilian here.
Just before leaving home, he had gotten word from N.O.S.D that they had got in contact with a resister who called himself Sparrow, and that Mühlegg was to meet him, in a back alley bhind the main square. On the note, was a code word. He was to ask this sparrow for ciggarettes, and sparrow was to give him a cigg, and ask him if he needed light too. From there, he guessed, he had to wing it.

Finally Martens and his forces could pacify the whole territory. The newly gained southern lands were split up in four, Martens would give them to a few of his comrades who need it more and keep a piece for himself, obviously.
He made sure that just as in Rhanland peace was enforced at first, before starting to actually let the people have their rights back (In some cases, with vast improvements even).
This way, the last phase of Operation Blutkreuz was successful. It was complete, and once he got enough puppets in the government the majority of the Reichswehr departed to another front, a much more important one. The police and the Gestapo however made sure still to crush any rebels, while Martens made sure that they had no reason to complain.
