Semi/OOC:
DGNT declares war on Adias, and wins automatically due to:
a. Population differnce (IE: My military being 10 times the size of your nation)
b. Tech differnces (IE: My having 30km long battleships O' doom and suchlike.

Would you like to be subjigated now, or later?
The Black Agents

all done
Adias

I don't think we had battleships in the Rennisance. Just handcannons and rapiers and footmen and big cannons.

Indeed, would you like some of his nation? Free, I dont have a use for all of it.

I'll take you on in the proper era provided you provide me with some weapons info.

Adias ignore the trouble makers.

Black Agents, Adias is bigger than you, remember that.

Sorry, I'm not really interested in RPing the Rennisance, and I don't think many will be.

If you want to learn to RP, I can take you under my wing. I admit I am no master, but I remember what it was like when I first started a few months ago.

Rapier-A long stabbing sword. Mainly used by lords to chase off people.

Hand Cannons-Look like muskets but are instead a portable cannon. First non-Chinese gunpowder weapon.

Men-at-arms-Footmen. Unmounted knights.

Mounted Knights-Do you really need to know that?

Cannon-A big artillery piece mesured by the size the lead ball it fires.

Siege towers-Moving towers that are fitted with archers, Men-at-arms, and other various troops they could fit in.

Yeomary-Archers. At this point, nearly obsolete. Flexible units equipped with bows and assorted weaponry.

I'll do it, the reason I asked for basic weapons types was that I've never really studied late medieval/rennesiance weapons and military.
Adias
22-02-2005, 03:34
I havn't studied it either. God bless History Channel.

Adias lines up Men-at-arms in a hollow box. Lines up hand cannons behind them. Mounted knights are at the flanks.
Theao
22-02-2005, 03:39
what numbers of soldiers of each type?
Also what is the general terrain layup
Adias
22-02-2005, 03:48
Men-at-Arms:2,540
Yeomary with Rapiers:2,250
Hand Cannons:1,340
Cannons:695
Mounted Knights:1,560
Siege Towers:95 (Each holds 150 troops total)

Terrain takes the shape of Foothills about 15 feet average. River at south side of the battlefield. I am to the north relative to you. The River is South but is East (right of your position) relative to you.
Theao

ooc: assuming armies are equal
so if south is bottom then im to the right(east) your to the left(west) but farther from the river
if possible could you draw a map?
sorry for nitpicking so much but it best to do with decent info
Adias
22-02-2005, 03:56

ooc: whats the point of siege towers, they are usually use for sieges not general combat

ic The Men-at-Arms organised into /-----\ this formation
Yeomary with Rapiers are devided in 1/2, in coloums along either side of the men at arms

There's not much a footman can do to a 100 Yeomary in a seige tower. Siege Towers can also be used to set on fire and crash them down on troop formations. Isn't that splendid?
Theao
22-02-2005, 04:19
okay amendment to my troop deployment 80 of the towers knocked down and partially damage to impede motion. remaining 15 towers mounted on hills and staffed by 30 archers

Having deployed the basic outline for his forces the commander took 50 of his yeomen and sent them to preform reconnisance to determain where the opposing force was based.

I mean, Yes. I'm going blind...

The commander tells his men to stay put. Knowing that there is an enemy force somewhere , he sends ten cannons in the middle of the Footmen formation.
Theao
22-02-2005, 04:47
"Sir the opposing force is almost directly in front of us."
"Alright"

The commander sends 60 knights on an arc in an attempt to attack from the rear to destroy the command link.
Adias
22-02-2005, 04:52
Sends his siege towers forward. Loads two towers with 50 hand cannons each and 100 Yeomary. Siege towers are now back of the Hand cannnon rows.

Having safely circumnavigated the enemy force, the knights set up a charge directly into the rear of the enemy force.

We'll continue tomorrow. Same time, same place. If this thing lasts overnight.
