IC:

With so many new races arizing in the world of NationStates, there are bound to be any number of inter-racial relationships between spieces that produce "halfbreeds", or a single creature of two different spieces, as children. Therefore, to keep racial classifications as orderly as possible, we have complied the Encyclopedia of Halfbreeds to catelog the various parings of different sentient spieces. You can add names to the sample list we have compiled, or you can submit your nation's own spieces and write after it various parings it has with other races.

And so, the Encyclopedia:

They've got similar parts! Don't judge their love! :p

On a side note, this is the 100th thread I've created in all my time here on NS. Lovely.

~Cow+Dragon= tyrannosaurus bovinous

There you go. Scientific naming for every one of the species or their offshoots.

EDIT- Also, all scientific names should be in italics, after the standard name. Just FYI.

As for the cows, figured as dragons are closest to dinos, tyrranosaurus meaning "tyrant lizard" would work quite well for it.

My country is populated by the humanoid offspring of dragons and cows. Below is a description of their physical characteristics, and further down is a link to nor info on thier history, etc

Physical characteristics

The term Dragon Cow is used generally to describe any humanoid creature evolved from dragon and bovie background, both male and female (in other words, there are no Dragon Bulls). Adult Dragon Cows generally stand between 5 1/2 feet to 6 1/2 feet tall. They look like a very muscular human with thick fur; arms, legs, and head of a cow; and the wings of a dragon. Just by looking them in the eyes, you can tell that they are not the big, dumb animals that stand in a field and eat grass all day. In fact, on average, they are more ingelligent than humans. Their fur is generally white with black splotches; although brown splotches, and even all-brown fur is not uncommon. Their wings are mostly gold with some red along the edges and through the veins. They are mostly for show, as they are much too small for sustained flight. However, if a Dragon Cow flaps his wing while jumping, he can increase the height and distance of his jump by up to double, althoug this is very tiring. They still have a breath weapon, however the range has decrease signfigantly, so is only useful within about 5 feet. It is more used for lighting fireplaces, rather than self defence nowadays.

Sorry.....felinius would be felis. And homo would always be the dominant. I shall make these changes now.

Samtonia, wouldn't human+elf and elf+human be the same thing? :D

My suggestions for revision:

~Human+Vampire= homo vampirius
~Human+Catperson= homo felis

~Elf+Vampire= vampirius longevitus
~Elf+Catperson= felis longevitus
~Orc+Vampire= brutus vampirius
~Orc+Catperson= brutus felis
~Vampire+Catperson= vampirius felis

*The name comes from the Middle English for "demon mage", since many orcs at the time were pretty evil, although this does seem kinda unfair to present-day orcs who don't happen to be evil.

**Needless to say, AIs can't produce halfbreeds.

I was assuming that whichever species came first was the more dominant, except in the case of humans, where homo is always going to be coming first for any offshoot of the species. A few of the changes you mentioned were made, however, I'll have to look at the others.

And it's now felis, going by the proper nomenclature as found by google. Ah, how I love the google. :)

EDIT- Neo, one would most certainly not keep the sapiens in with the naming for these new things. They're not a further specialization of the human race, they're something entirely new, meaning that you would need to drop sapiens from the things. Also, that ending for orc? Isn't it a bit unfair, considering they're not....you know, demons? Perhaps we should save that one for actual demons and stick with a nice description of what the things are- brutes.

Also, drop homo from the front of everything that's not affected directly by humans. Homo is only to denote human, and as the things aren't quite human, I would tend to assume that homo would be a wholly unnessecary addition.
