Encode Message to N.G. and Allies
64-Bit Cypher

A quick synopsis of our forces and locations so we are all on the same page.

1. Naval Fleet is stationed off the coast of Lolland Island, Denmark awaiting command for invasion and patrolling for Wick ships. The MEF with the fleet is available to assist Pyschotika's naval landing if needed.
2. Bombers are fueled and ready to make initial bombing runs. They will fly to targets, drop ordinance, then head to Rome bases in Switzerland for refueling, rearming, rest and return trip.
3. RDF has been redeployed with the Cottish Troops in reserve along with our Urban Combat Divisions. If you hit a city that gives you trouble simply bypass it and the UC Divisions can deploy and root out the enemy, that is what they do.

End of Message.

OOC: If you have other ideas where my people are needed N.G. let me know and we will get it done.
Cotland

The Emperor walked out to the podium on the 3rd floor balcony overlooking Cotlandstad. He was wearing the Class A uniform, bearing the rank of the Field Marshall, pistol holster at his side with a Berreta 92F 9mm pistol loaded with fifteen hollow-point rounds inside. On the plaza below were 900 soldiers in formation and a crowd of almost 45 000 civilians, waiting to hear him speak. Getting up to the podium, he took a sip of water before he started to speak.

"My people. You elected me to be the Emperor, granting me total power. You backed my proposal to join the Roman Confederacy, a entity which we owe a great debt after their assistance when the terrorists attacked Sicily. Now, we've been asked to assist them back. North Germania, a long-time ally and close friend of Cotland has come under attack from Aequatian forces. We as well were struck by Aequatian terrorists when they kidnapped and most likely killed doctor Karl Reigh from in front of your very eyes. Like I said, we have been asked by North Germania to assist them in wiping out the hornet's nest, harboring terrorists and other unwanted elements in this world, Aequatio and their untrusting allies, the Wickians! We cannot stand idly by and watch our allies be terroristed and attacked by these coward terrorist-loving nations! We must strike back, once and for all! I have ordered eight Cottish Brigades to go to Belarus to assist the Germanians, along with several squadrons from the Imperial Air Force. There, they will fight side by side with Germanian, Layartebian, Roman, and other nations in our common effort of eradicating terrorism and unjustice! I ask you now, pray for our and our allies' troops down there. I also want to ask you to pray for the souls of the terrorists, warmongers and cowards we are to slay so that they can find peace in the afterlife, for they shall not find it in this life! The Cots, Germanians, Layartebians, Romans and other allies shall make sure of that! We shall drench Aequatio and Wick with the blood of the terrorists they harbor and the people harboring them! Good night, and God be with you. God save Cotland."

And with that said, the Emperor walked off stage to see how the world community would respond while the people below cheered and started to sing the Cottish national anthem. They would not rest untill the final terrorist in Aequatio and Wick were dead.

Ye might want to notify those at E2 of this.
Layarteb

This is declaratory purposes. This is my ORBAT. Red ones mean they'd be directly responsible for this. Most are in the North Sea blocking that off and one is in the Baltic Sea, which is directly going to be used.

Layarteb Order of Battle

These are the following Layartebian ships and aircraft as well as a summary of the weaponry that is being employed. I want to bring special note to the submarines. The Centurion, New York, and Scythe class submarines are actually top secret projects that, for all intents and purposes, simply do not exist. The aircraft with an asterick (*) are top secret IC as well. Red signifies that the battlegroup is directly involved with attacks against The Wick.

130,000 PaladinXS armors
170,000 Hellspawn HSVs
620,000 Nephilim
600,000 additional personnel
12,000 MWBs (3,000 of each model)

But that's not until we rain death on you in the form of:

JF74E “Big Bastard” Pre-Invasion ICBM:
Range: 6600km
Blast area: 17.8km(square)
Totally Non-nuclear
Unique in that the damage from the blast is pretty much even throughout the area that it affects. In short, the damage is the same on the edges as it is in the middle. VERY expensive and tricky to make, so don't whine about godmodding, I only have a few hundred of these in total. I just feel like letting them stretch their legs by blowing the hell outta you.

Forty of those are to be deployed on each Latvia and Estonia before the Blitzkreig commences.

As soon as the blasts are confirmed, the Blitzkreig will commence. As soon as the Blitzkreig forces have reached a prearranged part of Latvia, the main invasion force will mop up whats left, resupply, and make ready for the invasion of Estonia. The Archangels will keep the real heat off their backs and keep the skies clear.

These forces have been recently mobilized for an invasion, and have already been briefed. They can move within an hour. Mephistopheles, Dumah, Hemah, Overseers Neitzche and Grobenfeld, High Templar Numel, and Nephilim D'erphellkhand 01437 "Neitsreiken" will be leading the invasion. They know their shit, that's why they are a part of the Order.

As a final note, if you want the stats to something, please, please, ask nicely and calmly. I won't post them if they don't need to be posted, and they take up a lot of space, but I have no problem posting them upon request.

Kahn, my friend, I have little time to talk at the moment, so I shall be brief. We have read, understand, and fully agree to your battleplan. Our commanding officers have orders to cooperate to the fullest with the plan.

First, our troops are being relocated so as to better suit the needs of the strategy. The troops that we stationed in Belarus and in other North Germanian areas are being prepared for the invasion at various bases in Belarus. We are quite prepared to move as one with your forces, and our men are proud to fight alongside yours. Nothing can stop us when we stand together.

Our fighters have established a radar signature and radio wave signal, as you requested. They shall assist with the initial air strikes. Special ultra-stealth fighters have been flown in specially from the Torian Dominion to carry out this stage of the plan without compromising anything or risking heavy losses prematurely. I should warn you that our JF74E ICBMs will be launched during this stage, so we would advise your fighters not to stay too close to the surface when our missiles hit their targets. As they are somewhat vital to the pre-invasion stage, we will be dedicating a wing or two of fighter/bombers to make sure that only a few, if any, of the missiles are shot down before hitting their mark.

We have not decided upon the use of Total War at this time, so you must excuse our men if they do not join your soldiers in burning and pillaging.

As for the cold, our part of the world is much colder than Lithuania, so that will pose no problems.

Aside from these points, we have changed nothing of our plans. Victory will come only after some very hard fighting, but I have total confidence in our combined might and ability to lead our men to victory.

Strength and Honor, my friend
Leon Alexei Adler
Supreme Overlord of the Torian Dominion

Sgt. Powers of the 5th Company, 3rd Battalion, 12th Infantry Brigade and his squad had gotten the dubvious (sp?) honor of carrying out the first patrol of the area after the Brigade had redeployed to Lithuania. Now, they were carrying with them field rations and vodka in their packs hoping that they could trade with the Hawdawgian or Germanian soldiers they knew were out there somewhere. Being 30 kilometers from the border, affectionately known to the troops as "the front", meant that they had to be ready for anything. That was why the ten men walked with live rounds in their XM-8s.

Powers was walking ten meters behind Private Green who had the point, thinking about how the war would turn out. He had never been in combat before, having been in Boot Camp when the Carthaginians invaded Sicily. He only got out in time to go there as relief to the veterans. Pondering about the situation, Pvt. Green heard a noise and stopped the squad. It came from the north-east. That could mean an enemy patrol! The men fanned out, taking up good firing positions, preparing themselves mentally to kill. That was untill Powers saw that the men approaching were carrying G-36 rifles and speaking German. Getting up from his position, he secured the rifle and walked over towards the men. "Halt! Identify yourselves or be fired upon!" he said in the German he learned at school. 'Might as well keep them on their toes' Powers thought as he kept his rifle at the ready.

Commander of Hawdawg Forces, we may ask that you assist Cotland in the Armoured Supply Line to be established. As far as naval vessels are concerned, we may request a joint-strike of a Hawdawgian-Germanian Marine coastal strike into Northern Estonia while the Blitzkrieg attack in Latvia is in progress.

Theoretically, this would incite a major problem for Wickish commanders. They would be facing armies from many fronts.

----------------------------------------------------

Commander of Andrehervian Forces, you are more than welcome to establish such a command front. Perhaps an attack/supply force would be most beneficial to this process.

Thank you to you both.

The area was foggy with a light snow was falling, and the lines of blue lasers could be seen in the fog.

Gustav spotted the XM-8s.

OOC: The purpose of listing number and their purpose is to provide your allies with something to look for and what your forces are capable of doing individually.

I ask that you please don't underestimate our capabilities simply because we provide eachother with numbers.

As far as my own armies are concerned, the number of infantry that will be attacking Latvia is only 375,000. There are 240,000 more infantry in Lithuania to provide reinforcement and to secure a supply line. Of course, you don't know any of this. :)

I apologize for being unnecessarily rude. I was irritated in general and took it out on you. For this, I am sorry. It was immature, silly, and honestly, quite not like me. I hope there are no personal hard feelings.

Let me start this off my posting some things on my nation and its military.

Overall National Characteristics: This is not RL Latvia or Estonia it’s the Commonwealth of the WIck. The Nation has approximately 20 million inhabitants most are in Latvia with Estonia being somewhat more rural. My Tech is post modern, we have nuclear technology and power. The nation is relatively flat highest point is 300 meters or so. The terrain is pretty heavily wooded and quite marshy and the winters are relatively mild.

Important Cities:
RIga-Capital Gov’t Center as well as an air force base and naval port. Entrances to the gulf of Riga are heavily mined.
Liepaja-Home of the Second WIckian Flotilla, at a naval base there.
Daugavpills- 2nd largest population center, industry center.
Jelgava- small city, bread basket of Latvia
Rezekne- Cultural center, Educational center
Ventspils-Largest civilian port industry center
Tallinn-Third largest pop center, Airbase, home port of third WIckian flotilla
Pama-Home of the silent service
Vohma- Agricultural center
Valga- Industrial center
Tartu-Home of the WIckian Military University

Basic Military Break Down:

1st Army (The Professionals)

1st Corps (Protector’s Own)
1st Division of Heavy Foot 18,000
3rd Division of Heavy Guards 13,500

2nd Corps (Men of the Line)
4th Division of Heavy Foot 18,000
6th Division of Heavy Guards 13,500

3rd Corps (Defenders of the North)
7th Division of Light Foot 18,000
9th Division of Heavy Guards 18,000

Independent Commands
8th Division of Dragoons 13,500

Total Number of Men in the Regular Army- 112,500 men

A Note on the Army-
The Professionals are my version of the Active Army, as you can see it is broken down into three corps each with a division of Infantry and of what I call Guards. The Infantry or Heavy Foot is mechanized infantry equipped with a brigade of MBT’s and IFV’s and a battalion of attack Helos. The Heavy Guards is an armored division of approx. 250 MBTs and 200 IFVs as well as a Brigade of SP Arty, and a company of Attack Helos. The Light Foot are like my Tenth Mountain, trained in winter warfare, they lack the armored support of the Heavy foot at most armored humvees. The Dragoons are my Calvary regiments, equipped with a mix of M1A3 Abrams and Bradley’s they are the eyes of the army and its best troops. I use Abrams and Bradley’s as my armored force, with linebackers and avengers as air defense

2nd Army “The Zemessardze” (Home Guard)

4th Corps
10th Foot 12,000
11th Foot 12,000
12th Heavy Foot 18,000

5th Corps
13th Foot 12,000
14th Foot 12,000
15th Heavy Guards 13,500

Independent Command
21st Dragoons 7,000

Total men in the Home Guard 86,500

A note on the Zemessardze- This is my National Guard, my citizen soldiers. A division of foot lacks the armoured brigade for support but has a number of AFV’s and a brigade of towed arty. The Zemessardze and the Regular army use the H&K G36 as there primary assault rifle, 7.62mm HK21E as a machine gun and the 5.56 HK23E as a squad automatic weapon. AT-4 and claymore’s are also standard issue to Infantry squads.

The Militia: Something unique to WIckian society and a few other nations around the worlds is the Milita. Every citizen older then 18 years of age is require to be a qualified marksmen on the H&K G36 and is also required to attain monthly weekend musters for marksmen practice and small unit tactics training. In the event of War the militia is called into duty to provide local defense for their towns.

Navy

1st Flotilla (Home Port Riga):
Four Cruisers
10 Destroyers
4 Frigates

2nd Flotilla (Home Port Liepaja):
Two Cruiser
5 Destroyers

3rd Flotilla (Home Port Tallinn):
6 destroyers
3 frigates
2 Missile Corvettes

Silent Service:
Six Fast attack Submarines

Each Airport I mentioned has at least one fighter wing and a complement of multipurpose fighters I do not maintain any long range strategic bombers. F-16’s make up most of the multipurpose fighters I maintain and F-15 are the most common air superiority fighters. The newest of our fighters is the X-35, rumors are that some of this are VTOL fighters also.

This is all the numbers I can post at the moment more details will be present in the RP I write out as I’d rather include them in there then just as part of some list…I will be happy to answer any question on AIM or MSN.
or now, the order of battle will be out soon, I don’t have too much to do this weekend so I can put a good effort into this .

40 Kilometers Northeast of Paldiski
Gulf of Finland

As the fleets of the Hawdawg Navy steamed to a predetermined position in the Gulf of Finland Commander Hulsey was nervous. This mission would put his forces to the test for sure. The last communique the fleet had recieved from North Germanian High Command was to steam North with haste to a location close to Northern Wickian territory and await at designated meeting point Alpha for elements of the North Germanian Navy. The combined force would make a Marine landing into Wick territory once the main assault started. Transmissions from North Germanian Fleet hadn't been heard and the Fighter Patrols overhead had not picked up any surface activity within 80 nautical miles of the fleet.

The thing that bothered Hulsey was the close proximity of the 3rd Wickian Flotilla at Tallinn and the 2nd Wickian Flotilla at Liepaja. If the Layatreb Naval blockade was pierced, the 2nd Flotilla could out flank the Hawdawg forces and create havoc once a naval landing commenced. This could be potentially be devistating to the Fleet because once committed to a Marine landing the force would have to stay put while the landing took place. They would basically be sitting ducks for an ambush. Hulsey could only hope the blockade would hold. The 3rd Wickian Flotilla didn't pose as big a problem for Hulsey because the Fighter Bomber cover with the fleet combined with the bombing runs expected on the naval base itself would potentially cripple several ships in the armada. What ships did make it out of harbor would quickly be met by the air cover and the submarines lying in wait off-shore. Off course this would all be determined once the German Fleet arrived with the plans for the attack. Super-secretive as the Germans were they didn't transmit the possible targets to the Hawdawg Fleet only the meeting point of the fleets.

The fog of war causes many problems and delimmas that have to be sorted out. The one thing Commander Hulsey knew all too well is many men would die in the coming days committed to a cause. He only hoped the Hawdawg men would die with honor and dignity. It reminded him of the banner prominently displayed in the mess hall for all the sailors on board to see.

"We came, we saw, we kicked your arse"
-Admiral Hughes, Treaty signing with Japanese Naval Forces

Only time would tell how this would play out.

Captain Anton Zillkow looked into his set of binos scanning the border that for now divided the WIckians and the "Germans". It was the same thing he has seen for the past few weeks now, a few infantry patrols as well as a couple light armored vehicles. His company of Infantry was ordered to defend the village of Rucava which lied roughly 40 km south of the port city of Liepaja.

His troops set up camp in the nearby woods as well as in the village itself, the militia had responded admirably adding another 200 Infantry to his force, though they were mainly kept in the village.

If the enemy struck he was to delay them as much as possible, most of the larger units were being kept near the important cities. He personally doubted the enemy would come up from Lithuania, most like they would try to flank in from the recently subjugated Belarus, or even from the sea.

But if the enemy came along this route he would be waiting for them...

The Protector of the WIck stood looking out over the gulf or RIga, the sun was setting casting everything in its blood red hue. Her capital city was fortified, anti-aircraft guns were emplaced, SAM sites ringed its perimeter, a CAP was maintained at all times now...Her offer for peace was spurned by those aggressors threatening her nation War seemed inevitable now.

However she still tried for peace, messages were sent asking for talks, peace should be at least negotiated for she still felt as if something could be arranged.

It seemed that it was her nation and Aequatio alone stood against the massive alliance that wanted to claim all of Europe in its entity. She was struck suddenly by the imagine of the setting sun as night soon enveloped the bay, would her nation too soon be cast in the inevitable darkness of night, or would they fight to keep the flame of liberty alive, she knew it would be the later and she cried for those who offered themselves up to sacrifice as the defenders of her nation.

Onboard the Battleship Heim Gewehr...

Fog covered the waters of the Baltic Sea in the early morning. Admiral Hess knew the Hawdawg fleet was waiting and soon their operations would be put in action.

A total of ten NGFK-119 Class Missile Ships, four U-229 Attack Submarines, eight Hammer Class Bombard Submarines, one Stimmer Class Large Aircraft Carrier, one Ogre Class Supply Boat, three Gustav Class Battleships, and three Nordheim Class Landing Ships were approaching the Hawdawg Fleet waiting outside of Latvia.

One U-229 Attack Submarine was placed on forward movement, some 6 knots ahead of the rest of the fleet. That submarine's only order was to meet up with the Hawdawg fleet without being spotted by them and let them know that the Germanian 3rd Kriegsmarine Fleet had arrived.

Some time passed until the U-229 spotted the Hawdawg Fleet on radar. The stealth capabilities of the U-229 were such that, given the speed at which the submarine was moving and it's depth, it was invisible on radar.

The amount of fog on the water added to its stealth.

Translated from Germanian...

Commander Besstimmer: "Bring the ship up. Let them know we're here."

The submarine gracefully leaned towards the light of the sun and broke the surface of the water.

The submarine had maneuvered behind the Hawdawg Flagship and a huge blasting sound of an old Norse battle horn split through the air.

The submarine leveled off, and Commander Besstimmer waved to Commander Hulsey.

:Commander Besstimmer: "We're here. Good to see you. I hope you turned your guns on this morning!"

He smiled as the crew of the submarine climbed out to get some fresh air...

*I've got details on that submarine. It's not just magically almost impossible to detect on radar.

Riga
Liepaja
Daugavpills
Jelgava
Rezekne
Ventspils
Tallinn
Pama
Vohma

Tartu
*Forest of Ogres

We will launch our ground campaign as soon as everything falls into its right place, so to speak."

--------------------------------------------------

The Long-Range Kormoran Missile Launchers in Lithuania, inland and along the border, launched simultaneously.

Thousands upon thousands of the large missiles flew towards anything marked "enemy" on the radar.

They flew towards command centers, cities, large forces, naval ports, airbases, SAM sites, defense bunkers, etc.

Soon Wickish troops and civilians, and Germanian troops and its allies alike would see the blue-burning light of thousands of the huge missiles.

At sea, NGFK-119 Missile Ships began their barrage of coastal defense positions. Thousands more of the Kormoran Long-Range missiles pounded the shoreline.

The FKB-9 Ultra-Stealth Bombers and FKF-1 Ultra-Stealth Fighter/Bombers would be taking off from their airbases and would soon be bombing targets in Latvia and providing air support for the ground troops.

--------------------------------------------------

Kahn exited the Rachau Command Base and towards the spearhead group. They were all camoulflaged and organized into position. Blue laser sights traced through the fog North of the city of Birzai.

Translated from German...

Kahn: "Gentlemen, the time to face the enemy is at hand. As you can see, the bombardment has already begun. I hope you slept well last night, because it's time to kill!

You have the general commands. But if any of you have served under me before, and I know some of you here that have, those aren't the ONLY orders. This won't be our typical operation.

Burn every village and city that we can't use to our advantage, kill every man, woman, and child we can't use to our advantage, kill every enemy and leave none alive, fight alongside your countrymen, friends, and allies to the death.

On my command, we ride against our enemies."

Aft Gun Deck Battleship HMS Quigley

Admiral Hulsey couldn't believe the North Germanian Sub had penetrated his defensive net.

Hulsey: Radar, Bridge. Anything on the scope?

Radar: Bridge, Radar. A large group of surface ships bearing SSE. From the signatures I would bet they are North Germanian in nature.

Hulsey: Radar, Bridge. I meant anything CLOSE to the ship now!

Radar: Bridge, Radar. Nothing detected sir.

Hulsey: Very well, carry on.

Admiral Hulsey had the seamen lower the boarding ramp to water level and launched a small shore boat to meet the Germans. Admiral Hulsey turned to the Petty Officer in charge of the launch and said the following.

Hulsey: When you get to the U-boat invite the Commander onboard. He has target information for us. Plus I want to ask him how the HELL he got behind us without me knowing about it. Oh and you tell him are guns ARE turned on, but fighter cover doesn't work very well in this pea soup.

The small boat was launched and sent to the U-Boat. As the petty officer pulled along side the U-Boat he saluted the crew on deck.

Petty Officer: Greetings, Admiral Hulsey has requested the presence of your captain on the Flagship. He has asked that the target data you are transporting be delivered this fine morning and he wishes to discuss and I quote how the HELL you got behind us without him knowing about it. He also reminded me to tell you that are guns are on!

The Cottish soldiers of IV Corps saw the massive amount of missiles flying over their heads, heading for Wickian territory. While the missiles continued on their approach, the officers of the Cottish brigades started to round up their men and get them to their positions. The primary objective was to assist any Germanian troops needing assistance and to secure the supply lines. For this, the railroads would have to be secured, and the city of Daugavpills was the key. It controlled rail lines in five different directions, and had to be secured quickly. This, all the Cots knew, and that would be vital to success: Information.

Meanwhile, the A-10s prepared for take-off at their temporary airfield in Utena. Once a new airfield closer to the front was secured, they would transfer there, so they had more time at the front protecting the ground forces. Now, the 25 attack aircraft in Whiskey flight (952nd TAS) were each loaded with 2x AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles, 4x AGM-65 Maverick missiles and 2x 2.75 inch 7-rocket pods (14 rockets) in addition to the 1000 rounds of depleted uranium in the GAU-8/A Avenger 30mm Gatling cannon. A total of 100 A-10s, one tenth of Cotlands A-10 strength, would help support the forces invading the Wick.

Message to North Germania

The Cottish ground forces are awaiting your command. Our attack airplanes are preparing to take off to provide close air support. OOC: The Wick, what kind of coastal defenses do you have in terms of AAA, SAMs, SSMs, and radar so I don't just make stuff up..

The gigantic Layarteb Class BB sat just below the horizon, 18.5 miles away. Her twelve 16" guns were pointed at The Wickian coast. Satellite intelligence put at least a dozen coastal defense sites within range of her massive guns. They had a range of 23.64 miles using a standard HE shell. She carried a good number of them and the new extended range, rocket-assisted HE shell. It was an 80 second flight time from muzzle to 40,000 yards, most of the targets being at 32,500 yards meaning a flight time of just under a minute.

The captain of the giant battleship called on the main microphone. "Gentlemen of this ship. We are at war men. The order has come down through the channels and we are to fire. May God be blessed upon all of us." Contrary to the Emperor and the command staff, at least 95% of the military believed in God. They often prayed during announcements and such. Knowing that the military should be alotted all the comforts they desired to keep morale up, the government did nothing to stop it.

The three turrets remained eeriely on point. The barrels were elevated to provide a major bombardment pattern. AV-8B+ Harrier IIs would be taking off and flying towards the coast with AGM-88 HARM missiles to take out the coastal SAM batteries. They would be engaging them from ranges in excess of 25 miles. F-29A Vulture fighters would be doing much of the same. Their stealth ability would allow them to get significantly closer and they would use a combination of JDAM bombs and guided missiles to take out more coastal defense sites.

From the Nimitz, F-14E Super Tomcats and F-22N Raptors were on CAP patrol, flying high with AIM-120D AMRAAM, AIM-54D Phoenix, and AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles and AIM-120D AMRAAM and AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles, respectively. F/A-18C Hornets were loaded with anti-ship missiles, four AGM-84G Harpoons each, in addition to two AIM-120Ds and two AIM-9Xs. F/A-18E Super Hornets would be armed in much the same way, except carrying four AIM-9Xs. The goal for the Layartebian military was to demolish the coastal defense sites and any The Wickian ships in the waters.

There was a single Virginia NSSN stalking deep beneath the waves, just above the floor of the Baltic Sea. It would be using it's ADCAP torpedoes to sink other submarines and ships. Moving at 10 knots, she was so quiet that a pindrop was louder. Another Seawolf SSN was moving in much the same way but a little further north, allowing for a mulit-directional attack into the Gulf of Riga. The Gulf of Finland was of concern for the Hawdawg navy, more than anything else.

And so it was, 0500, a dense fog on the water surface. The Layarteb used the GPS coordinates of the targets to make her attack. At 0504, the first salvo was fired at three of the targets, three shells per target. The massive power of all of her guns firing tilted the ship slightly and left a shockwave across the water that pushed the water down 8 feet. It had begun...

Gulf of Finland...

Kapitän Besstimmer: "I look forward to meeting the Captain, my new friend.

As Besstimmer walked onto the HMS Quigley, he saw the Captain. He immediately saluted and then bowed respectfully. He spoke with a moderately thick Germanian accent.

Kapitän Besstimmer: "You must be Captain Hulsey. I am Captain Besstimmer, High Commander of the U-Boat division of this fleet.

To answer your questions quite briefly and simply, orders are to begin immediate bombardment of coastal and inland Lithuania and Estonia. Our helicopter carrier will provide as much defense against a naval strike as possible, while our attack submarines and a small number of our missile ships will add to this defense.

As far as how we snuck up on you, the new U-229 runs on a new engine and material design. It is similar to the Virginia Class attack submarines, we just took it to the next level.

The engine is hydrogen-powered, meaning quite simply that the engine is almost entirely silent. We have raided enemy vessels before, using this tactic.

The submarine's skin is composed of a new alloy, which I am not at liberty to give any specific details. However, the outside of the machine is coated with an almost gelatinous-rubbery compound, which makes it nearly impossible to pick up on radar.

A whaler off of the coast of Svalbard with a fish-finder confused one of the U-229s, when they were in test stages, as a whale of size they had never seen. They were quite disappointed.

Move the submarine very slowly and at the proper depth, and it is invisible to radar. Layarteb's navy uses a similar design, though our engineers have been working on developing new purposes for the submarine as a whole.

As you will soon see, we have developed a bombardment submarine -- not very stealthy or fast, but with a bizarre radar signature. Two 12" guns, two 14" guns, four torpedo tubes, and six missile batteries are the new U-Boat's armament.

The rest of our fleet should be arriving momentarily.

Any comments or questions, Captain?"

Rachau Command Base; Lithuania...

The soldiers and cavalry of the 4th, 7th, 9th, 11th, and 13th Blitzgruppe Divisions had not moved an inch.

The Kormorans were still steadily flying over-head, casting an eerie blue light over the battlefield. A light snow began to fall, and the hot air of the soldiers could be seen flowing out of their noses.

As standard protocol before battle, the Germanians had taken to absolute silence. They did not speak to other soldiers, nor one-another.

If an allied soldier approached them wishing to trade goods, the Germanians would politely bow and offer them what they were willing to barter. The warmth and humanity of the soldiers had been turned off -- now their minds were ruled by their universal Germanian killer instinct, bred within them from birth.

They were human in body, but war machines in mind. They appeared calm, fearless, emotionless, and almost insane.

On board the HMS Quigley

Admiral Hulsey saluted his German counterpart and began to query him

Admiral Hulsey: I say. I have never seen stealth technology used to that much of an advantage. I would bet the R&D department will start on a project like what you have there pretty soon once I tell them about it. We never have relied too much on stealth in the Hawdawg Navy, we always bring a Sledge-hammer to kill a fly. Force in numbers simply is our best asset. I took the liberty of drawing up some pre-raid plans for our initial attack waves. We have 271 FA-18E Super Hornets available for the initial strike. We also have 100 F-35 JSF that are ready for deployment. As a precautionary measure we have held back 50% of our air combatants to allow for multiple waves of attacks to be launched. As I see it, we will have pilots fly two sorties daily. Between launches rearming, refueling and pilot rest will be priorities. We should have a good flow of planes in and out with this plan. Our fighter/interceptor cover will be 56 F-14D Tomcat’s. These pilots will fly staggered air cover missions of two to three sorties daily if needed. We will always have a group of Tomcat’s above to maintain a force to intercept possible naval or aerial targets as necessary. I have taken the liberty of launching several Carrier-based AWACS to act as flight coordinators for these strikes. With all the planes and ordinance in the air, being able to sort out friend or foe is essential. I would like to talk more Captain Bessitmmer, but I have several things to do before we launch the first strike. I have the launch ready to take you back to your ship.”

Admiral Hulsey saluted the German Captain and returned to tweaking his battle plan.

10 Minutes later…………….

As the Signalsman gave the order via search light the Carriers turned into the wind for launch. Admiral Hulsey took the on board microphone and prepared to give a speech to the entire fleet.

Admiral Hulsey: Men, today you do a great honor for your countrymen. We were asked to aid a friend in need and here we are. Try as the enemy might they cannot break or spirit or conviction, for we are Hawdawg Sailors. True many may not emerge on the other side of this conflict, but the stories and legends will live on through the voices and writings of history. May god have mercy on your soul and more importantly may he grant out enemy a quick and painless death. In the words of a famous sailor: “We came, We saw, we kicked your arse!”

Planes took to the air from the decks of the Carrier Fleet quickly. Squadrons formed up overhead. When the forces were together, they turned SSE heading for WIckian territory. The fighter cover took off last providing the umbrella of cover for the entire Fleet below.

Talon Flight Leader: Men, Listen Up! Pickles hot, I repeat Pickles hot! Look alive, and stay tight, we have reports of many AA stations on the coast. Pick your targets wisely and remember this is for real! Button up fellas the coast is less than 2 minutes away………………..

OOC: Before I am able to reply i need to know a couple things, NG are you targeting civillian centers as well as military from your generals speech it does sound like you are...as for costal defenses there is not much in terms of costal batteries and such, rader and lidar stations yes, which would be protected. Most of the anti-air, anti-missile defenses are centered around cities....

Suppose what i want clarification on the most is whether the missile will impact on cities as well as military bases?

On the border with Estonia...

Dawn broke over the imposing line of destruction on the Estonian border. The troops, some having slept peacefully, others being too excited or apprehensive to sleep stayed up. EVeryone was expecting another quiet day until Head Office gave them the orders to move and with each hour that passed, so did the optimism that came with a decisive battle.

Finally, it came.

As the soldiers were slowly informed, a collective moan of relief rose up from the line and movement intensified as foot soldiers hurried to their respoective positions. The plan was a quick strike on forward defences with artillery, rockets and attack helicopters followed by a siege on the remaining forces by ground units with backup from the air force. The general noise died down as the hum of attack and transport helicopters flared up and the clockwork motions of an artillery cannon being prepared slowly ended, waiting for the hand to wind them back into motion.

"Strike force 1, begin firing. Repeat, strike force 1, begin firing." The message repeated itself 5 times as the artillery began their clockwork assault and the helicopters swarmed forward like a group of bees defending their hive.

Operation: Steel Wing had begun.

The WIckian Light Dragoons have a set of standing orders that are to be followed at all times without question, one of the most important was the standing order of the “Hour of Decision”. It was simple rule that history has proven to be most effective and necessary, it was this:

"Don't sleep beyond dawn, Dawn's when the enemy will attack."

WIckian Armed Forces Central Command Center
Approx 3km underground
Near Tartu

And so it was the WIckian Radar and LIDAR operators had been awake for nearly 45 minutes when the first enemy launches were confirmed. The operators had plenty of time to be briefed and prepared for the onslaught that would be unleashed upon them. Countless drills were rehearsed in the time between the initial buildup of enemy forces and their actual attack. Response time and actions were carried out methodically and quickly with a cold calculated precision that only the discipline of the military mind could perceive.

“Hostile missile separations! Case Omega!” Rang out the voice of Commander Lydia Stomachic the point defense officer stated dictating the actions that would be taken next in those few five words.

Case Omega was the designation that marked one of those worst case scenarios one prepared for though one hoped would not be need. Hordes of enemy missiles were inbound with quite hostile intent their projected trajectories were plotted on a large display. In this case it was predicted that enough enemy missiles would survive the countermeasures that would be deployed at them that any further offensive action taken from static missile sites would be unlikely. In addition to the damage that would be wrought to airports, city centers, industrial centers and the like. It was a case where the adage “use them or lose them” was fully understood.

The master plot also soon became cluttered with the addition of hundreds of hostile icons representing enemy fighters and strike groups. Keeping to the rule WIckian Aero Command kept its fighters and bombers on alert five at this hour and the planes quickly scrambled from their airfields every pilot fully committed to his mission of dispatching as many of the enemy as possible for it was very likely that they would not have a strip to land on upon their return.

Three minutes after the enemies initial launch WIckian Missile Command’s MRM’s rocketed from their silo’s in remote locations all about the countryside. All in all over 1500 missiles where propelled at super sonic speed towards the enemy fleet fielded by North Germania. What a sight it would have been to see the two groups of missiles pass one another on their way to their missions of self-destruction.

It was an alpha-strike, the WIckian military was being attacked by a massive enemy but war has proven that a large enemy is sometimes vulnerable due to the chaotic nature of mass, and the smaller enemy faced with destruction could be provoked into aggressive, ruthless, coordinated offensive action that could cause levels of devastation unexpected by their more massive opponents.

The Ballet of Death had begun over the Baltic nation of the WIckian Commonwealth, and this masterpiece war that only humans could inflict upon one another would reach a thundering crescendo...

OOC: Ok really tierd now and I need to get up early so ill post what ive written. The MRM attack on NG’s fleet is going to be coordinated with other counter strikes on that same fleet as well as the other fleets present. Feel free to post its damages but there will be other blows landing very shortly after those. There is a lot up for me to reply to, It will go in somewhat this order….
1)Missiles hitting cities targets…Well counter missiles systems I have will be detailed in this too…
2) Layarteb I posted where my fleet is there home ports its where they are roughly located post launching missiles at them and I will reply…I do not have much around AA stuff along coast as I said its at strategic points like bases and vital cities. It’s a combination of AAA, Sam sites, man portable such as stingers, Avengers, linebackers, Patriots, Arrow ABM, I even have some sites of laser systems. Pretty thick, but so is the stuff being sent at it. The less vital cites such as Jelgava or Rezekne have much less intensive defenses only AAA, a few Sams, maybe an platoon of avengers, If you or NG want feel free to post their devestation…
3) I know I got a lot to do will get to it as soon as I can however it will be done in parts I think, Couple things that would help me is this, Andrehervia you are sending in copters whats your target? From where? NG your invasion are is coming now what’s their initial targets,

thanks

OOC: I've been hoping to ask you for a few requests too. First off, the helicopters are essentially scouting the terrain for heavy armour and infantry positions to bombard and weaken them until ground forces mop up whatever resistance's left. They're also coming in from the East of Vilnius, where the forces that are to invade are stationed.

My plan for now is to seize everything up to Klaipeda, where the next attack will take place and where supplies can be sent through the sea. I don't expect it to be taken straight away, I plan to do it city-by city if possible.

As for my questions, I need to know what forces you have stationed up to Klaipeda, i.e. troop numbers, tanks, artillery, immediate air power etc. I'd also like to know where they're vaguely positioned as well, which our satellites would've picked up anyway.

Dawn
The Germanian missiles continued to fly over the Cots in the 87th Armoured Brigade, who were now moving into final position three and a half kilometers behind the Germanian 9th Blitzgruppe Division so they could provide support should it be needed. The men were completely quiet, most of them praying to God for Him to keep his protective hand over them. Religion was a big thing in the armed forces, though religion and state was officially kept apart.

"Remember, keep your mind clear and follow orders and you will be okay." the officers reminded their men. "Fight for the Emperor, for the Cottish people, for your honor as Cottish soldiers, and for Cotland! We shall claim victory for Cotland!" one officer was reported to have said, playing on the patriotism in Cotland. They were patriots and professionals, and proud of it. The grenadiers (infantry in the armoured brigades) were clatching their XM-8s, checking every piece of equipment they carried with them while saying short, intense prayers to God. Driving around in the Humvees were Baptist chaplains, casting the curses of god on the enemy over the radios. They were set on the common channel, so the allies could hear the thunder-speaches as well.

The Cottish Army had found out long time ago that Baptists were the ideal chaplains for the military. The Cottish people followed the Baptist church, and somehow, the chaplains always preached about Doomsday for the enemies and the protection of God on the soldiers. They were charismatic and the soldiers believed them, thus boosting the morale.

After the brigade came into position, the artillery prepared itself for a quick transport over a distance, the tanks, tank destroyers and IFVs prepared for quick dashes, the infantry inside the Bradleys and Humvees readied themselves for a quick dash out of the IFV and straight into combat. The Chaplains continued to preach, and the logistics people readied themselves to create pipelines and supply routes. It would be a long supply collum when they progressed further inland, so the military had plans to comandeer fuel and transport trains from Cotland, via Belarus and Lithuania and into Latvia and Estonia. They just had to capture the railroads.

OOC: The Wick, a good recommendation for replying to all of these posts is something that I found myself doing and find myself still doing with the main Earth II thread. I'd go back to the last post I didn't reply to an open a text editor, in my case, Textpad. Then I would just go down through the posts, typing my replies in the single Textpad file. I'd use quotes every now and then but mostly I just do the bold textings. So fourth, with that in mind, it is a good way to go through all of the posts and reply in one big section. NG and a lot of other people use (-) or (*) to separate the posts within their posts so that is a good idea I must say. If that helps at all best of luck with it. I know it can be a hassle.

On board the Layarteb Class BB, the next salvo was being readied. The giant, one ton plus, 16" rounds were being loaded into the barrels for another salvo, at different targets. The key targets were the radar and LIDAR (that's secret IC or not?) posts that were on the coast. Additionally, there was the Arsenal ship, loaded with 500 missiles, a mix between surface-to-air and surface-to-surface. Her complement included an even mix between Standard SM-4MR and SM-4ER missiles for surface-to-air and Standard LA and Tomahawk II for surface-to-surface. The missile of choice would be the RGM-165A Standard LAM (Land Attack Missile). This missile was unique to the Layartebian arsenal and it carried a 300 lb. warhead with it for 300 miles. The flight profile was simple. A booster would put the missile up to 120,000 feet where it would fly to the target and dive on it using GPS. It's dive speed was in excess of Mach 3.5. The kinetic energy alone would destroy most medium targets. 42 would be launched at the coast, at 6 different radar & LIDAR posts. The smoke trails alone would be a glorious sight.

And so as the Layarteb Class BB let loose another 9 round salvo at 3 more targets, the Arsenal Class moved at 4 knots. Hatches on her deck opened and the VLS tubes were exposed. Inside the main firing room, green lights went on each VLS tube that was open and ready. It looked like a Christmas tree at first, green and red. Yellow meant that the tube was opening. But finally, they were all open, only a few seconds in total.

The ship moved eeriely in the foggy water. Then the captain gave the order and the firing station commander pushed a button. The single, red button launched all missiles waiting in the queue, which were these 42 RGM-165As. All 42 were launched within seconds. The missile complement was spread out throughout each VLS group, there being 12 in total on the ship. This allowed them to launch multiple missiles at the same time without fear of catastrophe.

While the missiles fired, the Layarteb BB reloaded, another 9 rounds ready to go within thirty seconds. With the equippment and at its current rate, the Layarteb BB could fire, from each barrel, two rounds per minute. It wasn't very impressive but when that meant 30 seconds between salvos for the people on the ground, that meant life or death.

Still, the aircraft remained on the decks. They would be ready to fly but not until the RGM-165s did their job.

OOC: Holy crap. Sorry about the delay everyone, I've been quite busy with school. I'm mainly targetting troops on the ground, defense bunkers, tanks, artillery, AAA/SAM sites, etc. Talk to Order of Reptiles concerning cities.

IC:

The foggy morning became even more eerie when the sounds of the Cottish 87th Armoured Brigade could be heard behind the lines of the 9th Blitzgruppe. The tanks of the Blitzgruppe tested their turrets, moving their guns around as if stretching. Kahn stood at the head of the lines, prepared to lead his troops into battle.

Translated from German...

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Achtung! You have all come here now to fight and die for the Empire. Let nothing stand in your way, and let no man be your victor!

Today is why you are in the Reichswehr. Today is why you fight for your fatherland. Today is why North Germania still stands.

Fight for your fatherland and your brothers and sisters. Kill everything and everyone. Totaler Krieg!"

It was after these words that the Germanian soldiers broke their silence and let out their war-cry.

The tanks and armoured vehicles cranked on their engines almost simultaneously. The snow began to fall more heavily. The sounds of the war drums being played by the Germanians could be heard from miles away.

The sound of a tribal war-horn projected through the speakers of all the tanks in the Blitzgruppe pierced through the early morning air.

Several Kormoran missiles flew over the soldiers towards the enemy. This intensified the battle fury of the Germanians. They were at the breaking-point.

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "LOS! ANGRIFF!!"

The tanks roared forward as the soldiers ran close behind them. Cries of rage and the faster-pounding of the war drums filled the air.

The Germanian forces were roughly 1 mile from the border with Latvia. Blinding explosions of Kormorans striking defensive positions on the border covered the horizon.

The war had begun.

--------------------------------------

The Baltic Sea...

Kapitän Röthlicher: "Achtung! Flugkörper!"

The radars on the SAM ships had detected the massive missile salvo headed their way.

The anti-missile turrets whirled into position and fired back with as many anti-missile rockets as they could. The aircraft carrier followed suit, launching off 56 anti-missile rockets.

The anti-missile miniguns on every ship detected the missiles headed their way and sighted in. Even with the support of the SAM ships and the anti-missile equipment on all of the ships, it would not be enough.

2 battleships damaged
3 missile ships damaged
4 missile ships destroyed
1 aircraft carrier damaged
1 landing ship damaged
1 battleship destroyed
3 frigates destroyed

Attack Force Talon was on course for the bombing run on Tallinn. The group had a two prong mission: Destroy the naval supplies and any ships in port of the 3rd WIckian Flotilla and eliminate all enemy aircover for the city by attacking the Airbase outside of town. Tallinn was ringed with AA and SAM batteries, but the Hawdawg pilots had a suprise for them. The HARM missiles would cause havoc on the radar operators. Sure they might get a lock on target but they would pay the price with there life when that missile crashed into there missile battery. The air was thick with AA fire as the group divided into the two attack groups of 135 each. The lead pilot of the Naval group banked hard and released on target to mark the path for the rest of the flight. As the bombs fell fires could be seen on the ground and the thick smoke choked out the sun. The Airbase attack squadron dove at a sharp 70 degree angle before releasing on targets. The air was thick with Hawdawg and WIckian planes as the ensueing dogfight played out over Tallinn.

IC:
Tallinn had already suffered one assault upon itself this morning and that was the missile attack launched by the German forces and that of their ally. Anti-missile systems cut deeply into the numbers of those missiles destined for the city, counter missile’s self imposed suicide downed some, the new HEL system was proven in real combat for the first time shooting down 96% of what it targeted, last ditch efforts of Vulcan guns through up a wall of lead in the missiles path downing still more. Dozens still made it through for with modern technology saw to it that no wall was impenetrable.

The Hawdawg’s pilots would have seen smoke rising from multiple sites within the city, communication centers, military barracks, storehouses and the like. However one would have also been concerned to say the least about the flames and smoke rising from civilian centers. It was clear the nation was at war, and the captial of the Northern March home of three million people was hit hard this morning.

The Port facilities like wise were hit hard by the enemy missile attack as well as from the bombing runs of the enemy. The Ships berthed in the harbor were smoking all damaged by enemy missile or bombing runs. They defended themselves valiantly but the wall of violence headed their way was too much...in the end only a couple destroyers and a corvette remained combat capable.

Patriot missile systems locked onto the oncoming fighters and unleashed their hatred upon there aggressors. Wild weasel missions were perilous indeed, one had to expose themselves to their enemies’ wrath to even get a shot off, and most would pay for such bravado. But the double edge sword that was such missions cut both ways.

As the enemy force closed Avenger's and Linebackers began to add their weight to the firepower, as well as man portable Stingers. The skies over Tallinn were not friendly. However the Hawkdawg strike was successful in ruining the airfield and a large group of its surrounding structures.

It was at this time that the defenders of Tallinn swept into action with a thirst for bitter revenge, forty eight fighters a mix of F-15's and 16's cut into the enemy formations with a cohesive and aggressive assault, with only one intention in their minds and that was to make the enemy pay for the damages their brought to their homes.

Over the Skies above Tallinn
0535

Captain Maria Lidowski flew through the early morning skies above Tallinn on this fateful day her eyes burned with tears at the sight they beheld. Smoke rising from the city she’s called home for almost three decades, since her family immigrated from Poland in her childhood.

They had warning of the approach of hostile missiles and since her squadron was on alert they were able to scramble in time however some units reported in as many as fifty percent casualties. Now was their chance for payback.

Her radar scope was filled with icon representing enemy planes almost four times the number that opposed her squadron and the others of their Wing, but sometimes that could be a disadvantage.

“Ok Archangel’s pick your targets on my Signal unleash hell upon the enemies at our gates. Strike hard and fast and Happy Hunting!” She paused for a brief moment before she continued on an open channel.

"May God have Mercy upon our enemies’ souls for we shall not give them any...now pay for your sins!" She ended her chant with the shrill war cry of the WIckian Yell which dated back to the times of rank and file war, it was the intimidating scream before a bayonet charge and she thought it fitting to this moment.

With that last command she unleashed two AMMRAM missiles at her enemies soon followed by dozens more from the support squadrons as the WIckian’s tore into the Hawdawg formations.

Dear Allies,
The Imperial Principality of Gintonpar has watched this conflict develop with concern. We stress the need for peace. We have fought beside Cotland, North Germania and Layarteb before and wish no hostility or insult to any of them. However, if The Wick does indeed harbour terrorists, surely a tactical strike on purely military installations, or political pressure on the government of The Wick to crack down on the terrorists would be better than a full scale invasion. The Principality will stand up for what is right, even if this means taking up arms against our former allies. It would grieve us to have to do this, and we will not risk our own territory or homes, but we cannot let the attack of a sovereign nation go unchallenged (OOC: specially as everyone is teamstacking against them). We know that we may not win, but it is the principal. You are killing millions of innocent people through your bombs and through the pestilence of war that you bring with you such as famine and disease, and this outweighs the damage caused by their terrorists. If need be we will co-operate with a purely objective strike, but we cannot tolerate open hostility. Let us not fight over this. Let us negotiate and make peace, for a better world.

It is the policy of the Layartebian military not to target civilian population centers. It is believed that The Wick not only harbors terrorists but is presenting a serious and grave threat to European stability. In addition, attacks by The Wickian military on North Germania have prompted us to engage the enemy. Our primary goal is to support landing forces and to clear beachhead hazards. We will not be targetting or engaging in any missions over cities. If our ships are directly attacked we will follow a counterattack against the airfield or seaport from which the attackers were from.

Any attack on the civilian population centers would be a gave catastrophe. We are fully aware of the missions of our allies within this conflict and we do not believe they would attack civilian population centers without just provocation or cause.

OOC: Yes this did turn into a huge amount against a little group of nations. But unfortunately, that's how life works. Iraq was by itself in 1991 and again in 2003. Hell even World War II was basically Germany, Italy, and Japan against the rest of the world.

The Empire of Cotland do not intend to bring damage or destruction upon civilians in this war. We are here at the calling of our ally, respecting a long-lasting mutual defence treaty. Our forces' mission is to assist the allied forces should they need some extra strenght. Other then that, we are to secure the supply lines.

The Empire of Cotland does not wish for hostilities with Gintonpar, a valued ally. Therefor, we will display our trust and not increase any alert readiness on the Cotland-Gintonpar border as we would with any other country. We have reliable sources who say that WIck is a terrorist harboring nation, and a severe threath to European security.

"I am convinced that the main assault from Wickish forces has yet to take place. However, the 9th Blitzgruppe has been fighting bravely beyond words, and are refusing to allow fear to consume them."

Over Tallinn...........
0537

"Sir we have radar contact with 48........." and the mic went dead. Waves of incoming missiles slammed into the FA-18's and caused havoc to ensue. The AirBase Attack Squadron immediately lost 27 planes. The Squadron took evasive action and sprang into attack mode. Each plane had two sidewinders left for air-to-air combat and they put them to use curling and corkscrewing above Tallinn chasing the F-15 and F-16's of the WIck. Just as the dogfight seemed to tipping the direction of the WIck, a transmission came over the radio. "AirBase Squadron, what's your position?" Squadron Leader Mullins replied, "I have two freaking bogeys on my ass! That's my position! We need some help down here ASAP! The WIckian's are outmanuvering us! We have lost the strategic advantage at the moment, I am out of Sidewinders, and I am in a barrel roll! What else can I say!"
From the East the Naval Attack Squadron roared into the battle. They had had a relatively light day over the naval yard and had lost a token number of planes. As they descended into the fray, targets of opportunity sprang up everywhere.

As Squadron Leader Mullins rolled over the top of the action he caught a glimpse of something very strange. A group of planes coming into the area with North Germanian Markings. Must be the radio transmission querying my position earlier he thought, oh well the more the merrier. It was just a matter of time now......

Damages:

Planes that disengaged due to damage - 39
Planes lost over naval yard - 7
Planes lost at start of dogfight - 27
Planes lost during dogfight - 18

Return to the Fleet...........

After a long morning, the remaining Hawdawg planes made the turn back towards the sea. Of the 271 planes sent this morning only 168 would return unscathed. The good news was the second wave was taking off and headed inbound to mop up any remaining ground targets and the few naval vessels still operational in the port. Missions are supposed to get easier as time went on, but this initial strike cost dearly.

Gulf of Finland........

Admiral Hulsey stood on the Bridge with his binoculars as the first group of cripped planes came in for landings. Three of his Carriers had recieved some damage in the missile attack, but they still were able to remain in the fight. As the damaged planes landed flight crews quickly moved them below decks to clear the way for the inbound planes that would be rearmed and redeployed. Fighter cover continued a vigilance over the Fleet looking for any enemy activity. This would be a long day, but the objective of removing the threats in Tallinn would be reached.

Overseers of the Torian forces, the Thirteen is now authorizing the use and immediate launch of the JF74E Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. Although you already have the targeting information, your targets are enclosed in the unlikely event of any differences in your information and ours. As soon as the missiles have been confirmed on their impacts, the Blitzkreig force is to invade immediately, striking Jekabpils, Jelgava, and Riga. On the Belarussian front, they are to strike Daugavpils, Rezekne, Varaklani, and the other major cities in the area. Caution is advised, for although all of those targets should be smouldering memories by the time our forces arrive, the enemy may be dug in and setting up ambushes. Use your training well. Godspeed, gentlemen.

OOC: Ok, I don't have time to RP the action bits. Forty ICBMs are headed into Latvia, hitting every major city, inland defenses, and pretty much the entire Lithuania/Latvian border (obviously on the Latvian side). I've got a map here from NG, but not every target is marked, so bear with me if I can't accurately name every target. Basically, you can assume that every major city and military defensive position is getting hit. Hard. There is a wing of Archangels (12 per wing) for every ICBM that we're sending in. They will concentrate primarily on the anti-missile defenses, but are authorized to fend off enemy fighters. These guys are some of the best pilots on Earth II, so please don't give me another experience like Doomingsland (12 of my losses for every one of his? Godmodded invisibility? Please). But in all seriousness, I don't expect any garbage from you, because you strike me as being a mature NSer.

The Blitzkreig force will coordinate with NG's, so the targets and actions he RPed are the same for me, just add on another million or so badasses to his numbers. I'll also be launching several thousand other missiles from my various Mobile Weapons Batteries, silos, and bases throughout Belarus and Lithuania. Again, apologies for my tardiness and lack of decent post right now, but you understand how time is scarce at this time of year.

The initial Blitzkrieg attack had pierced through the center of the country and broken the last remaining defensive lines.

The 9th Blitzgruppe had thus far destroyed or otherwise disabled twenty-two tanks and armoured vehicles, and killed thirty-eight soldiers.

Following the 9th Blitzgruppe closely was the 87th Armoured Brigade. The brigade moved no less then three kilometers behind the Germanians, ready to thrust forward should the need arise. The turrets of the M1A2 Abrams and M2A3 Bradleys turned from side to side, surveying the field ahead. The Predator Tank-Destroyers were ready to launch its missiles, and all the grenadiers were praying and waiting.

Dear Sirs,
We are most displeased to see that our allies think this campaign will not incur huge civilian casualties. We accept that you are not targeting civilian areas, but with todays weapons large collateral damage is unavoidable. We will not intervene as long as we are allowed to send in inspectors and observers as a totally neutral body, not interfering with military operations of either side, to oversee the conflict and report back. We propose to both sides that they will travel in all white vehicles and that they are not to be fired upon by either side. We simply wish for further information from our own sources on the conflict and will not interfere with either army. We await all of your replies with trepidation.

Inside Strategic Command, Argon City, Layarteb

The General overlooked the threat analysis. He had been tasked with deciding, if need be, would the use of nuclear ICBMs be feasible. Already he knew the answer was a "No" but he still had to prepare a report. He had, under his control, 17,200 ICBMs with a total of 91,400 warheads equalling 216,436 megatons. That was a lot of firepower. The majority of the missiles were the LGM-30G Minuteman IIIs with 3 warheads a piece, each equal to 340 kT and LGM-118A Peacekeeper MX with 10 warheads a piece, each equal to 300 kT. Those were 4,800 missiles each. Then they had 2,400 LGM-134A Midgetman missiles with a single 475 kT warhead. Those were the armada. But there was still just one more classification of missile, the LGM-174 Satan. The A and C versions featured a 50 mT warhead, the latter being FOBS, and they had 1,200 of the former and 2,400 of the latter. Then there was the B and E versions, featuring 10 warheads a piece, each equal to 1 mT. They had a thousand of the former and six hundred of the latter, the latter also being FOBS. That was the arsenal (LGM-174 is secret IC as are the quantities of the missiles). It was too much firepower to unleash, way to much.

The General was concluding his work when news of the Reptilian conventional ICBM got to him. He sighed, "Oh no!" He said outloud as he added a special section. It was short. "The use of the Reptilian ICBM complicates this situation greatly. If any return fire is used in the former of non-conventional ICBMs we will be forced into through alliance. Albeit we should defend our brothers strongly, we should not release any of our nuclear payload unless in direct, defensive conflict. We should not, under any circumstances, use our nuclear arsenal unless we too have been nuclear, chemical, or biologically attacked." He signed his name and the report was sent. The silos would remain cold for now...

IC AND OOC:

Good grief, people, calm the hell down. I have stressed before, ICly and OOCly, that I have NO nuclear weapons, including the ICBMs that I just launched. Totally non-nuclear. In fact, the use of any biological, chemical, or nuclear weapon is looked upon as the highest order of cowardly acts, and is rewarded by a swift ass-kicking from my legions. Your leaders would have known this before, even if all of you neglected to check whatever recent statement I made that stated my view on nuclear weapons and my total lack of them. Edits are in order, I think.

These ICBMs have an awe-inspiring payload that puts the fear of God into whoever it hits, but no nasty lasting effects like radiation.

My only other cause for complaint is the insistent use of "The Order of the Reptile" when referring to my nation. At best, you'd get a blank stare if you said that name. At worst, a nervous glance and a quickly cut-short communication link. You must understand that the VAST majority of my nation has no idea of the existence of its true ruling body. The Torian Dominion is what my nation is called, so please use it.

Anyway, I also eagerly await the results of my unnecessarily controversial attack.

Despite the views of our allies and the innocence of your request, we must ask you to take your inspectors elsewhere. We have no wish to have some neutral party looking over our shoulders as we fight a war, and we are also slightly annoyed by your implied threat of intervention if we do not accept your inspectors. White vehicles driving around while our troops try to attack? This is madness. While we have no wish to have to kill anyone other than Wickian forces, any intervention on your part will be dealt with quickly. The threat is of no concern. Indeed, it amuses us. Amused as we are, we are not in a joking mood. This is a war, not a United Nations convention. Stay away from our forces or get caught in the crossfire. The choice is yours.

In retrospect, if you are insistent on observing our legions, you will see all that you need to while following around our more patient allies, who will be fighting alongside our forces.

OOC: Yeah, I wouldn't reccomend making any demands of us at this stage of the game. To my allies, I wouldn't take this as any kind of uncooperative action, but obviously our policies are not yours. NG will understand this well, having talked at length with me about our nations.

Our Inspectors will duly comply with all regulations set by the forces we co-operate with and will equip all of our vehicles with transponders and with any documentation you may require. We will not interfere at all with your operations or be on the front line as we do not wish to hazard the lives of our troops or the safety of yours. We thank the nations who have complied with our humble request and remind all combatants that we are not there to be judge or jury over your actions, merely to file a report of the war back to our government and to help us decide who to back in the war and to identify major terrorists who have been killed. Personal reply from the Supreme Overlord of the Torian Dominion

The insolence of a spit of a territory such as yourself will not be tolerated any further. When you have endured four milennia of conflict and warfare, seen your people die from the inaction of bleeding-heart third parties, had millions of men lay down their lives for causes that seemed lost, and still tried your best to represent the light, safety and security, in a cruel and dark world, then perhaps you will be entitled to your own opinion. Do you slur us? Do you so wish for annihilation that you would continue to harass the Torian Dominion after we gave you our answer with such finality? If you knew anything of the Dominion, you would have known of our foreign policies before you demanded this of us. We have never signed any convention, treaty, or made any agreements on the rules of warfare. Why? Why have we never agreed to any standard of war? Because we SET most of the current standards of war. We have fought honorably for four thousand years, therefore we require no piece of paper to remind us of our own code of honor. I strongly suggest that you remain very silent for the rest of this conflict. I require no threats to reinforce this demand. Threats are for those too weak to fight their own battles. I would advise against sending us some sort of smart-ass comment, for you will find that I am very serious now.

OOC: Well considering I am in the Roman Confederacy I do have an involvement. And why precisely are you ignoring me? Because Im trying to balance the teams? As soon as one side in any of these conflicts seems close to winning suddenly everyone has a right and a reason to be there, I know, I've done it myself before. I'm not trying to make a logical argument that my Inspectors should be there, I'm doing it because it makes it a bit more fun than just another war won by 7 nations versus 2 nations or whatever the numbers are, because normally the nation that has a disadvantage tends to get gangf***ed by every other person who suddenly dreams up a reason to get another bit of Europe coloured in their country's colour on the map or to get an imaginary favour owed to them by someone else. MY INSPECTORS SHOULD'NT BE THERE. Thats the whole point, in real life war there are complications like this, so dont just 'ignore' me for not joining in in your macho invasion plans and for actually thinking how to make an otherwise predictable rp a little bit more interesting.

As a fellow member of The Roman Confederacy, we feel this is a strange action to take against an ally through confederation. Essentially, what you have stated is that the threat of war from your part will only be removed with the insertion of these 'inspectors'.

This seems like a threat to us. When a message was sent to your nation stating that we are willing to discuss further negotiations, we were not implying that the nation of Gintonpar continue these threats.

Over Tallinn; 0542...

The signatures of multiple planes were picked-up on the radars of the FKF-1A's as they approached the air battle. The pilots of the Germanian fighters opened a short communication on a secured radio frequency with the Hawdawg fighters.

Kapitän Hausegeld: Hawdawg fighters, Germanian FKF-1A's headed your way. Do not be alarmed.

The eighteen FKF-1A's then targetted one Wickish fighter each, and released two Krieghammer missiles. Thirty-six missiles in total sped towards Wickish planes. They were unsure the capability of the Wickish pilots, but they knew exactly what kind of jets they were flying.

The Krieghammer missiles were a new design as well, with a unique radar signature. They had never been tested in actual war events, but they should wreak much havoc on the enemy.

After the fighters released their missiles, they soared upwards to 68,000 feet. Their plan was to observe from above the battle and track their missiles. Their radars flashed the missiles and friendly and enemy jets, all in different colors. As the radar images of the missiles came closer and closer to the enemy fighter signatures, several dots on the radar disappeared immediately.

Several more enemy signatures disappeared a few moments later...

Inside their APC was a wounded Germanian soldier from the front lines who the medics could not properly attend to. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and had small pieces of shrapnel lodged in his back. He was also suffering from 2nd degree burns.

His grenade launcher had been hit by enemy gunfire and exploded near him.

The Dingo-2 APC pulled up near the Cottish lines and rushed out with the injured soldier.

The messenger could not speak Cottish and was in too much of a frenzy, as the injured soldier was his good friend, to attempt any English.

He ran forward screaming in German and pointing to his friend. He was also waving an order sheet requesting 300 gallons of fuel for the tanks and IFVs.

"Ruhe, Ruhe, ich bin hier zu hilfen - Calm down, calm down, I'm here to help." Klinger said to the man who were yelling at him. One was waving some kind of paper at Klinger.

"Dass muss du zu mein Offizier geben. Ich bin nür ein Artz - you'll have to give that to my officer. I'm just a medic."

The officer in question, Captain Herbert, came out and calmed the Germanian down using finger language. Klinger was way to busy to translate for him. Recieving the order sheet, Herbert looked it over and signed it before he handed it back to the Germanian and pointed over to a large tanker.

Just as Herbert was giving the sheet back to the Germanian, Klinger called him over. He had dressed the wounds and stopped the bleedings temporarily, as well as covering the burns.

"Sir, this guy have to get to a hospital. There's a landing area ten kilometers down the road for the medevac chopper. If you'd just get it over here, I can drive him down there sir."

Cpt. Herbert nodded, and Klinger ran off to get someone to help him load the Germanian on the Humvee that was standing by.

Private Sanctum of the Supreme Overlord

Leon Alexei Adler is, arguably, the most powerful man on Earth (II, that is). He commands the invincible Torian Legions, leads the Order of the Reptile, fights at the head of the Thirteen, and controls a massive piece of territory in far Eastern Europe. At the moment, he is reclined in a luxorious German armchair, a gift from some old friends in North Germania. It is to his annoyance, not his surprise, that a knock on the massive oak doors of his Sanctum interrupts his meditation.

Enter

The doors swing open, granting passage to an older man and four Nephilim guards. The older man is the highest ranking Overseer in the Torian Dominion, no doubt bearing some sort of update on the war. Funnily enough, the war is hardly mentioned in the Torian Dominion. The reason being that it is just one of many minor conflicts that the Torian Dominion is nearly always involved in. Sons, brothers, and fathers go off to war, and usually come home in one piece. Some minor faction or nation is annihilated, and the people of the Dominion enjoy a night of feasting, drinking, and merrymaking. This occurs also before the battles, adhering to the old Viking maxim of "eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you may die".

Adler waves away the Nephilim, who bow their heads slightly in respect and sweep out of the room (no doubt a highly polished and practiced skill taught at some Imperial Guard academy somewhere :P). He gestures for the Overseer to be seated. When the man has made himself relatively comfortable, and has accepted Leon's offer of a glass of fine wine, he begins his report.

Supreme Overlord, the war goes well on all allied fronts. Our Cottish and North Germanian allies are doing well and fighting valiantly. We expect this of the Germanians, as they have proved themselves many times before. Nevertheless, it is nice to see that we have another capable ally.

The Supreme Overlord cut him off momentarily.

The North Germanians we can count on, you know this as well as I do. However, with tensions in the world mounting, I would not count on the Cottish people to remain our allies if it does not suit them. I will allow no plotting against them to take place, but we must keep an eye on them. Continue.

Unhurriedly, the seasoned warrior recommenced his report.

The ICBMS were successfully launched just minutes ago. We await full damage reports, but we expect them to each do massive damage. I know that you don't like killing off civilians like this, but we must keep in mind that military installations are also being obliterated, and all damage done by these missiles speeds the war along and prevents further casaulties. Our ground forces shall be more careful as to which targets they pick. As per your orders, they will be starting the preliminary assault as soon as we can confirm the impact of our missiles. We don't expect an easy fight, but our forces in the area are well supplied, well reinforced, and well led. Latvia will fall within the week, with Estonia succumbing soon after.

Leon nodded his head slightly, absorbing this information. He already knew most of it, but no news is, as they say, good news. With no serious setbacks or changes in plan, they could expect things to more or less run smoothly in the near future.

Overseer, what of this smaller nation from the Roman Confederacy? The nosey one with no respect for those who have earned their place in the world?

Ah, Gintonpar. Nothing of concern. Their population is little more than one billion, their armed forces pathetically weak, and their political influence bordering on nonexistent. Their offer to send inspectors, and their further threats to intervene if their offer is not accepted, is believed to be little more than a bid for greater respect among their peers. Our negotiations with them have failed; it seems they didn't like the way we declined their offer. I've already got a Legion prepared, in case they get nasty. Of course, if you'd prefer, we could send in a Boy Scout troop to wipe them out...

They both chuckled briefly at this witticism. The Supreme Overlord quickly collected himself and gave his final commands of the night.

Very well, Overseer. Our Legions in Belarus and Lithuania have the go-ahead to invade whenever they receive impact confirmation. I want increased monitoring of all major nations, allies and not, to allow us time to react in case anyone should try their luck against the Dominion. As for this Gintonpar, well, they should know who to respect. As it seems that they do not, we may have to educate them. Keep that Legion on stand-by, and keep several ICBMs nearby. With the power vaccuum created by the demise of The Wick, they may try to fill in that hole. We must ensure that they do not. Besides which, no one has been insolent to me and survived for..oh, seven centuries? They shall not break that mold. Now, Overseer, unless anything else requires my attention, a certain Ludwig van Beethoven was just putting on a concert on my turntable, and I would hate to keep him waiting any longer. Good night, Overseer.

The Overseer returned the pleasantry, bowed his head, and retired from the Supreme Overlord's chambers. Leon Alexei Adler, leader of the Thirteen and commander of the Torian Legions, was left with total peace of mind, knowing that, once again, his Legions would have victory very shortly. Better yet, the problem of a location for a new missile testing site had been solved by the appearance of Gintonpar. Smiling to himself, he turned his turntable on and sat back down in his chair. Being a Supreme Overlord has many perks indeed.

With the collapse of Aequatio, the Roman Government would like to formally ask the participants of this war to discuss a peace agreement. This is because the main reason for the war- Aequatio's nuclear threat- has been wiped out, thus rendering military action pointless. We would like to state that we do not condemn North Germania's actions here- but we just feel that at this stage war is not necessary.

We are inclined to believe a peace accord could be struck in this situation, since the main nuclear threat that was originally brought by Aequatio has been eliminated. There is no need to destroy the WIck, he simply was coming to the aide of a allied nation. We for one would like this option explored.

OOC: Throwing another wrench in the works? After my missile strikes, it would almost be easier to fight to a surrender than ask for peace.

Peace? After we launched a full complement of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles at targets all over Latvia? Peace will not come easily after tens of thousands of people, perhaps hundreds of thousands, have been killed, and billions of dollars in damage dealt. Perhaps if the Romans had suggested this earlier, it would sound like a sound proposition. Don't get us wrong, we do not seek to annihilate a nation that, were it not for our ally's dispute with Aequatio, we would have no reason to fight. If the Wickian government will entertain such a peace talk, well, we have much better things to do at the moment than fight a war with them. We might even be willing to offer some reparations, but this will not be given if it is demanded. Our troops are needed for...other plans at the moment, so by all means, start some peace talks. We are merely doubtful that they will fall on sympathetic ears within the Wickian government.

Well, it wasn't our intention to throw a wrench into the proceedings- we merely were going from the logical standpoint that sees that the main reason for the war- Aequatio- is gone, and thus without Aequatio involved, there doesn't seem much point in the war. True, you've already launched your missiles, which is a very extreme act of war, but they were launched when Aequatio was presumably still in the conflict. Now, we think that if we offer a reprieve to The WIck and see that we may be willing to forgive them then we may bolster a new period of peace and stability in the region, and gain a far superior situation to the one we have now. However, we cannot proceed with peace until The WIck agrees to it.

OOC: Well, the missiles weren't extreme at the time. Indeed, they were a sound strategic implement and could have actually decreased the casaulty count if the war dragged on. Right now, with Aequatio gone, and with each of us left with the power to crush Wick with the little finger on our left hand, I agree that the war is pure folly. Plus, I kinda feel sorry for Wick, who was only doing the honorable thing and helping his ally, who turns out to be a selfish son of a bitch (assuming that he left in cowardice. Good assumption, as we've yet to hear otherwise) and jumps ship, leaving Wick alone. Wick's past the 2 bill mark, and it's always a real shame to destroy someone who's stayed with NS for that long. We can leave off with peace talks, and the kind assumption that military and civilian losses were, considering that forty ICBMs landed, relatively minimal. I'm in the same boat as Wick: only here because my ally is involved, and I really have no real reason to continue fighting. And like I said, I have other matters that need RPing. So yeah, soon as Wick gets on, we'll hold some peace talks. I'll be willing to offer monetary reparations, as well as medical and reconstruction aid. I might even throw in some troops to stay around and make sure that no one tries for Wick's land until things are back to a sense of normality. Might not be best coming from one of the guys that caused the damage, but I see Wick as being honorable for holding his ground in the face of impossible odds, and I'd like to recognize that bravery by helping him get back on his feet.

Subject: Good will

Although we have not met in person, and it is usually my practice to meet my enemies (or former enemies) in person before a fight, I must point out that I have nothing but respect and admiration for you and your people. You may be proud to have a brave and skilled fighting force, as my front-line troops report to me. A compliment from them is a compliment from the best ground force ever to live, and I add my compliments to that. No doubt there are many among you who see my name and spit in disgust. This is understandable. I was looking for a quick end to the war, and in a way I may have brought that about, but forty of our intercontinental ballistic missiles is a grave thing to do to fire at any enemy, much less one that has never wronged us. Alliances are a strange thing, as you no-doubt know. We cannot bring back those who are dead, but I can and have personally order as many medical, construction, and security personnel as I have on hand to ship out immediately to help your people. They will be there within a day. This is nothing to atone for our sins to your people. Such destruction cannot be atoned for, but we will do what we can. As a token of our sincere wish for an end to the fighting, I have ordered the withdrawl of a full half of our forces. The other half will be sent to Lithuania or put on security duty to keep out the many predators that inhabit our world. There are many who would spring on the chance to claim your land now that you are wounded. They shall not do this. You shall retain your honor, your people, and your freedom. No more foes shall walk on your land.

I am in the midst of preparing to fly out for the peace conferences that are, even now, being set up by my commanders in your area. We do not ask that you forgive us, but we would ask that you sign a pact of non-aggression. I will be there in two days, please respond to our request for a conference.

Again, I too hurt from the loss of your people as well as my own men. As a man of God, this is an inexcusable thing for me to have ordered, but history may see it as being another Hiroshima: a tragic but quick end to a potentially brutal and long war. Instead of celebrating, my people mourn your dead, wounded, and those who have lost much or everything from our missiles and attacks.

En nomine patris, et fille, et spiritus sancti

Subject: Peace

As you know, for the past few days Cottish and WIckian soldiers have opposed each other, but not exchanged fire. It is the wish of the Cottish government to put an end to this war, and hopefully establish peaceful relations with the WIck. We respect the WIck for its feeling of honor for aiding an ally who turned out to be cowards, its and fighting spirit when faced with overwhelming odds, and its courage in the battlefield. It is my hope and wish that if faced with a similar situation, God forbid, the people of Cotland will be as courageous and defiant as your people. I salute the people of WIck and I salute you sir. Thankfully, no Cottish soldiers were killed in this campaign and no Cottish soldier killed a WIckian soldier. I am hereby ordering the 12th, 14th, 54th and 79th Infantry Brigade, 87th, 107th and 115th Armoured Brigade and 134th Combined Brigade and their support elements as well as all Air Force units to return to Cotland. They will be out of WIckian territory within 48 hours.

I am unfortunately not able to attend the peace conference, but I will send Lieutenant General Peter Vaughn to attend on behalf of Cotland. The General was the commander of the Cottish forces involved in Operation: Blut und Stahl.

May God be with you and your people and grant you peace and security from now untill forever. You have most certainly earned it.

In the Skies above Tallinn

With the addition of the Germanian stealth fighters and the second wave of enemy fighters the defenders of Tallinn were forced to break off the action. Both sides acquitted themselves honorably in the conflict and casualties were high, as the damaged WIckian fighters flew to hidden secondary bases Tallinn like every major WIckian city was struck buy an ICBM.

The citizens sought shelter in under ground bomb proofs since the attack began but when one is struck by such large warhead damage and casualties are almost always unthinkable.

It was a situation that repeated itself across the country.

Southern Latvia
15km from the border

The Wickian Armed Forces meet the onslaught of the Germania in the rolling hills south of Jelgava. It was some of the finest men in women who wore the uniform of the WAF that opposed the 9th Blitzgruppe, it was the members of the Protector’s Own. Until this point in the war the Wickian tactics were to establish roadblocks with light infantry or militia. It was a costly tactic but one that allowed them to keep relative contact with the enemy, as well as to bloody them.

It was the Dragoon regiment accompanying the Protector’s Own that gave the 9th Blitzgruppe their first serious opposition with long range missile shots and fire from the Abrams 120 mm gun, in a since it was like the skirmishing of the great wars of the 19th century each side knowing the pivotal engagement was soon to follow.

It was announced with MLRS fire and 155mm rounds from the surviving WIckian batteries as well as hellfire strikes from AH-64 attack helicopters. Then rising from behind a small ridge the Heavy Guard division that comprised the Protector’s Own engaged their enemy furiously attacking with unabated violence and intensity, with the dragoon striking it swiftly from the flanks.

Modern warfare was a ballet of death and the courage of both the Germanian units and the WIckian proved it on this particular field of Honor. The Germanian’s however won the day in a large part because of the additional reinforcements they called in, reinforcements the WIckians could not call up do to their overextended forces. No quarter was asked for by the WIckians for they have seen the results of the ICBM strikes on their home, they were out for blood and vengeance for the murder of their families and friends, and angered by Aequatio’s betrayal.

Men and women on both sides died in the thousands and the wheat fields of Jelgava were soon stained red with blood and littered with burning vehicles on both sides, casualties inflicted upon the 9th Blitzgruppe and the units that came up to support them were unknown, but as the WIckians disengaged from the battle as night fell only 60 percent of the force was left on the field including many wounded, the casualties were even higher among the light Dragoons. As the WIckians prepared for the running fight that was to ensue to the fortified ruins of Jelgava they were surprised by the lack of pursuit by the enemy, whoever welcome it was.

They prepared for the next even more bloody battles that were to follow, knowing that no mater how much they fought or bleed it their nation would not likely make it through the week.

Riga
Capital of the WIckian Commonwealth

Fires still burned throughout the WIckian capital, being fought by the militia and firemen of the city. The day brought a huge air battle over the city, and by the blood of those who fought this day the airfield was still able to receive aircraft, especially the shattered remains of the fighter wings from Tallinn and Liepaja.

The Navy burned in the harbor but before they died they launch a powerful missile bombardment towards the Germanian fleet, hundreds of SSM skimmed the water’s surface to the enemy fleet, by all reports causing a goodly amount of damage.

The violence of the enemy attacks upon the capital city and the other population centers of the Commonwealth united the people in the war as it was seen as a war now for their very survival. Nearly every able-bodied man or woman reported to his or her militia units and prepared to defend their homes. Elderly men carry their M-14 rifles of a bygone era reported along side teenagers who reported in with nothing but their hands and a spirit of determination and a thirst for revenge.

The Protector voice was heard over the radio waves as a calming centering voice thanking her people for everything they have gave so far, one thing was clear in her voice as well as the actions of her bloodied people, if the October Alliance and her allies wanted to see this war through to its conclusion there would be much more blood spilled, and she wept for those who would die, but duty bound her as well as her people and surrender was not an option after the damage that the enemy already wrought upon their country.

The Protector sat in the hardened bunker below the ruined city of Riga she was forced into it after the initial air battle and missile bombardments. Her motorcade was hit on the way in and many of her advisors perished and even she herself was wounded taking a large chunk of shrapnel to her shoulder. It has been a very long day indeed.

She looked at the situation map the massive enemy forces were striking in form the south and eastern borders and her troops fought them bravely throughout the day forcing a kind of stalemate. Her battered forces pulled back to their secondary positions after their initial counterattacks but strangely were not being pursued, whatever the enemies reasons for this she welcomed them. Her generals used the time to re-supply their units as well as to bring in reinforcements as the front stabilized.

It was at this time that the enemy brought news of peace conferences she was surprised by this turn of events, as her early attempts were ignored. She was angered by their proposal at first, what was the point of this first and terribly bloody day of battle? They flattened her cities killing hundreds of thousands and killed her brave servicemen and militia, all for what some kind of sick punishment to show her their alliance was so much more powerful than her nation? The WAF and militia fought bravely and the front was stabilized for now but for how long would it hold when the enemy attacked again in force.

She looked at her aide who told her that the October Alliance was calling for peace,

“Tell them that so long as their forces do not move another inch in the Commonwealth and that all offensive actions we will agree to meet them in peace talks, Tell them we only need to know the location of the talks, I would suggest Tallinn or Riga so they can see the faces of those whom their aggression has affected most.” She said icily.

The WIckians would meet with their enemies and talk peace.

The Southern Hills of Jelgava...

Helmut Kahn was conversing with three Generals of the 9th Blitzgruppe. Translated from German...

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: The enemy is indeed quite powerful, General. However, their helicopter attacks were a fatal mistake. From what I saw, the Panzer-X's cut through them like a hot knife through butter.

Our tanks held up superbly, as always. But I am quite impressed with the skill of their infantry and their tactics with field artillery.

General Prinz, how many men did we lose today?

General 4th Class Prinz Herr Kahn, initial reports indicate 1,657 Germanian soldiers dead within nine hours of fighting. 36 tanks, APCs, and IFVs have been destroyed, twenty-two have been damaged so badly, they have been sent back to Rachau. Roughly 2,200 infantrymen have been wounded.

The artillery was positioned far enough behind that no artillery damage or loss reports have been filed. However, the enemy has retreated.

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: The Protectorate has said that she will join us at a peace conference if we do not advance farther into her country. Therefore, gentlemen, we will not advance an inch more.

Create a defense line where we stand. Order fifteen Mobile Kormoran Missile Launchers to insure that if they launch a counter-assault, it will be easily repelled. As well, we need thirty Leopard 3M Heavy Tanks. Send in ten minigun teams and position them appropriately.

That is all.
__________________________________________________

Kahn exited the tent where the officers were planning, and lit a cigarette. He thought long about the mistakes of this war, and hoped peace could be attained before any more soldiers had to die.

He looked into the distance and saw the orange glow of the acres of burning wheat fields, and the bodies of Germanian and Wickish soldiers inside the fire. Flamethrowers were used to remove enemy infantry hidden in the wheat, and were quite devastating used on a large scale.

Kahn had only heard stories of the violence contained in those fields: brutal hand-to-hand combat, grenade fighting, teenage Wickish militiamen being gunned down by better-trained and more experienced Fallschirmjäger troops, Germanian flamethrowers being hit by gunfire and engulfing dozens of Germanian soldiers in fire, Wickish MLRS's devastating columns of Germanian infantry, and things he could not even consider...

If I had not been involved, I'd offer that it be held in Cotlandstad... But Sanibel Island is good for me.

BTW Layarteb, I never got to kill anyone either.
