Freudotopia

Today the M.C.H.A.M.M.E.R. sentient computer program vanished, thought to have left the government computer networks of Freudotopia and begun a slow infiltration of private corporations in order to cause untold amounts of havoc.
The people of Freudotopia filled the streets, and an emergency session of the figurehead parliament was called. All this would make little difference, however, because a military coup is now in progress, led by the extremely popular general Saul Hudson.

As his tanks rolled through the streets, he walked into the heart of Phantasmo, onto the floor of parliament, and booting the chairman out of the way, he sat down at the table and made this announcement, in manly and gravelly tones:
“Citizens of Freudotopia, lend me your ears. For too long we have let others presume to hold an imagined superiority over us, because we are content to remain peaceful, and do not care overmuch about the foolishness of the international community. While some have seen this as our greatest strength, I believe it is a weakness, a terrible affliction that will cripple our nation if we do not change our ways.
You know that I am not a peaceful man. I have served at home and abroad to protect the freedoms of our nation, and to fight for the causes that I believe are just and worthy of our Special Forces divisions. You know that I carry the scars of many conflicts proudly, and I am utterly unafraid to engage our enemies on any battlefield. Today I tell you what I know. I know that from this day forward, Freudotopia will never shy away from conflict when it believes that to fight will increase our great nation’s glory.
I know that a government such as ours must be vigilant in such an enterprise as a return to the greatness that we have known in the past. I will not dance around the truth; I will be emperor, and I will lead our nation to a golden age never realized by our ancestors. The Empire of Freudotopia will make our enemies tremble, and our allies respect us. We as a people will never know darkness if we are always ready to involve ourselves in any embroilment whose outcome may advance the Freudotopian cause.
I stand before you today, a warrior, a husband, a thinker, an Emperor, and, most importantly, a man of Freudotopia. Let every day from here forward be spent in pursuit of glory. Long live Freudotopia.”
He stood up from the table and cast a long stare around the parliament chambers. Few would meet his gaze, but those who did regarded him with a mixture of awe and respect. They knew of old that Saul Hudson was a fearsome fighter and tireless in defense of Freudotopia, but no one fathomed that he could speak so clearly and passionately, and they were inspired by his boldness. The times were indeed changing.
Around the nation, Saul Hudson’s speech was broadcast to the jumbotrons in the major cities, and every channel was showing the rousing oration over and over. In some of the larger buildings, the cheering lasted hours.
