NEWS ALERT: MAJOR PRICE CUT

OOC: This is my first design, so, if I'm godmodding, lemme know.

Requirement: The Sevarisian Armed Forces issued an order for a new tank to supplant Challenger IIs and Leopard IIs. It needed to be more powerful than the Leopard II, but just as fast.

Lisbon Construction Works began modifying the Leopard 2A6, the standard variant in Sevarisian service. They replaced the current powerplant with a revolutionary hydrogen engine, one that is much more efficient than normal gas-powered engines. Armour was also replaced, with an extra 20 mm added. The main gun was also replaced with a new 125 mm M-05 cannon.

STATS:
ARMAMENT:
1 x 125 mm
1 x 5.56 mm MG (coaxial), 1 x 7.62 mm MG (Anti-Air)
2 x 8 smoke grenade dischargers.

ENGINE TYPE: LCW "Green Tiger" Model 205 Hydrogen Propulsion Engine
Horsepower: 1,750 HP
Maximum Speed: 80 km/hr
Maximum Road Range: 575 km

ARMOUR
Type: Laminate/Steel
900 KE/1,200 against HEAT rounds
(Note: There is extra armour around the fuel tank, given the hydrogen.)

NBC System: Included

Night Vision: Included

The Leopard III is being sold on the market at a price of $3.5 million USD per example. The Sevarisian Armed Forces have ordered over 2,700 so far.

As James Macpherson, former ruler of Garretstein, new ruler of New Garretstien, I have a few questions about the tank. First, after the destruction of Garretstein, Garrets have been short, I am wondering if a stripped down version of the tank is available for a more cost-efficient price.

I'm afraid we could not let it go for less than that. However, if you would tell us what you wish to get rid of, we may be able to work out a deal.

We are willing to sell production rights for $22 billion.

Of course, a reasonable negotiation, If the night-vision could be stripped, as well as any unneeded armouring, the fuel chamber can be left exposed for last resort purposes, my people will do anything, even sacrifice themselves, for victory, and to say the least, an explosion on that scale would be sufficient.

The RHM-7A as a heavy MG that will take the place of the 7.62mm gun. It will function as anti-air and anti-personnel. It uses 15mm if you must know. And the FN MAG as the coaxial MG.

We of the Virginian Enlightened Combine are intrigued by this design. We wish to buy the rights for it, if at all possible.

We will pay any price you ask, but we wonder if a payment plan is possible if we choose to buy the rights.

OOC: the armour for the first KE is probably passive, the HEAt is probably ERA armour type.

Get rid of the hydrogen! That stuff:
1. Explodes with WAY to much power if hit.
2. Blow the engine up, :D
3. It just wouldn't work in general, highly dangerous.

With the secondary armament: Have two 7.56mm MGs or change the AA one(i would) to something like 12.7mm(.50"). Some weapons of 15mm caliber look quite impressive to me, belgium i think it is.

Havent really checked the size yet, but if its only and extra foot or minus 1/2 a foot i could be done i suppose...but size would be very near the real thing (and weight, would be slightly higher)

Well so does deisel and petrol. The main problem is even when highly pressurised it takes up a hell of a lot of space.

OOC: Might want to try this new kind of diesel engine. I forget the name of the damned thing, but it's supposedly great for high-power apps. Thing also accelerates like a b$&%#. So diesel might help it out.

And yes, hydrogen power is not only cost-inefficent, hard to transport (think of getting it to the front lines ... the trucks would be huge targets for HUGE explosions) and as of yet still bulky unless cooled below 20 Kelvins.
Vast Principles

OOC: yeah, its not a bad tank really, its an improvement on the real Leopard II, although i don't personnaly see the point in upgrading to 125mm guns, i'd either upgrade the 120mm to a higher velocity and its rounds, add an ETC gun or give it a 130mm+ smoothbore, up to you really though, it doesnt really make a difference to me. i would though suggest that you add upon the armour, have some DU and other armourn types added, the laest ones used in modern tank warfare(M1s are always apparently getting better) so that could be quite useful!
