Alaxsxa declares war on Helsmish
As leader of Alaxsxa, I have decided to declare war on the republic of Helsmish. I have sent 500,000 men over the border and they will be attacking soon.
Um, why? Currently I am looking to expand my nations territory.
OOC: FYI, you dont have a 500,000 man army. Its too large percentage of your nation. Also posts like these usually end up turning into flame wars or just a bunch of nations picking on you for your lack of rp skill. So just so I can say I tried Ima say this. When you role play, dont just say that you are sending troops to a nation. Instead post reason, and make it more of a story instead of a statement.
Yeah, an example would be:
General X (the nations leader) called forth the other Generals and told them to mobilize or else! They had a total of 500,000 troops that mobilized or could be.
Company X would go into combat first, they hugged and kissed there lovedones for the last time.
*Go ahead a week*
The men were marching into the opposing lands, taking small arms fire, the men remained calm knowning they had strong support from Nation Z to back them up.
OOC: That is a very, very light over-view of how it would be a good idea to post. Just look at some other RP's and the RP guides that are stickied.

Let me get this straight...
Your nation has a population of 5 million. In a time of extreme war, it is a general rule of thumb to use 5% of your population. That would only be 250,000 troops that your nation could have. Your attacking a nation of 14 Million. 5% of their population would be 700,000.
Your defence budget is $0.00 while Helsmish defence budget is $548,793,469.26
Understand this...A nations defence budget is how much they spend on their military. You have no money going toward your military which mean you have no military. You have no troops. Your nation would be annexed in a second if a larger nation wanted. But what do I know, i've just been playing this game since September of 2004 while you've been playing since February of 2005.....

If The Republic of Helsmish is attacked at all by The Free Land of Alaxsxa, the Holy Empire of Shazbotdom will defend Helsmish's boarders from the Alaxsxian assault. Emporer Shaz Bot decrees that The Free Land of Alaxsxa back down before they become a protectorate of The Empire.

OOC:Shaz, I dont know if you know this but using 5% of your pop is usually only reserved for those using an emergency draft. Really, what he should be doing is use about 2-3% and build up an army and a little bit of a air force. Navy wont be a priority until he can afford to pay the upkeep on it. Then use those forces for the defense of his nation. And shaz, ease up on the calculator use, its not his fault that he hasnt gotten any issues on defense yet. I mean I dont have any transportation funding but does that mean the people of my country walk everwhere? no, it doesnt.
But then again, what do I know, Ive only been playing since december 2003.

Most people do not use the budgets made by the GDP calculators because they aren't accurate.
