IC:A dense fog had settled across the island, so thick that it seemed as if you could slice into it with a knife. Traffic around the island had been all but stopped due to the poor visibility, and air travel was all but non existent on this night. However, one place that the fog had not hindered activity was the Tomb of Eternal Night. It was such a large tomb that although it had been uncovered nearly one hundred fifty years ago, it had not yet been fully explored. Those who attempted to explore the tomb deeper than what had been uncovered have never come out. It a place in which folk lore said the air inside the tomb would suck the very breath out of a man’s body, leaving him to suffocate inside. However on this night, something would stir inside the deepest parts of the tomb. Something that had not been seen since before the Spanish Conquistadors claimed this land for the Spanish court over 200 hundred years before was once again going to make its presence known to the people of the island.

Outside the tomb, a group of fifty men, women and children slept in a makeshift tent city. These were the true believers of the legend of the Tomb of Eternal Night, and the souls it held inside. Just outside the camp several squads of the King’s elite Special Forces had taken up positions, surrounding the camp and everyone inside. The signal was given to enter the camp, their mission, destroy the heretics. These were the last of the native people of the island, and they had not yet converted to the state’s brand of Catholicism. The men entered the tent city and opened fire into the tents, the flash coming from the muzzles of their weapons lighting the area like a thunderstorm.

At the Tomb of Eternal Night, nearly one hundred yards away from the massacre, several figures shrouded in darkness emerged and began converging on the tent city. The speed at which they moved was superhuman, making it to the tent city in a matter of seconds. They moved throughout the tents like bolts of lightning, striking down every soldier inside in minutes. Once all the soldiers had been killed, the figures moved into the center of the camp. As the occupants that had lived through the massacre exited their tents and approached the figures they saw that there were only four of them, four against nearly thirty soldiers, and all the soldiers were now dead. As the people got closer to these strange figures that had saved them from a premature death they noticed that their bodies were severely decayed. What little flesh was remaining on their bones was hanging, blowing in the wind. One man tried to start a fire, but as soon as he lit the fire it blew out. As the people gazed at these strange figures they did not notice that several others had surrounded them, and that one was walking towards them. Suddenly the one that was approaching the people spoke:

“My people do not fear us for it is I, Cacifica, and I have returned to lead you from the darkness that has settled onto this island, just as I had promised. However as you can see my body has been reduced to nothing more than bones and decaying flesh, which is why I ask you to sacrifice one of your bodies so that I may once again return to my former self.”

Several men walked up to Cacifica and got on their knees, ready to be chosen for such a great honor. However, Cacifica did not choose any of the men but walked to a beautiful young woman of only nineteen. The woman bowed her head as Cacifica began the process. A bright silver light emanated from both bodies as the bones of Cacifica fell to the ground and the body of the woman began changing. As suddenly as the light appeared it disappeared. Suddenly every fire in the camp roared to life and the true form of Cacifica was revealed to the people of the camp. Her eyes moved from person to person, watching as everyone inside the camp bowed to her. Her lips curled into a slight smile as she opened her mouth to speak once more.

“You are the faithful and you shall all be rewarded for your faith, but there is still much work to be done. There is a darkness that taints this island, and we must work to put a stop to this stain. So arise my people, for there is still much work to be done, fore we have to topple a king.”

Later that night while the king was sleeping, a hellish looking skull of a man appeared in a dream. Lasting only a few seconds, the skull said something that the King would run through his head as he lay awake in his bed the rest of the night, afraid to sleep:

“I am coming, and you do not have the means to stop me.”

The next morning Cacifica sent the remaining people from the tent city in a quest to find and unite the rest of the native Nascentians. “Anyone with more native in them than not shall be called to our cause, anyone with less shall be ignored.” She had ordered. Once they had all left, she and her twenty undead warriors, which the natives from the camp called “The Nightmen” used the dull green fabric of the tents to create crude hooded robes and began collecting the rifles and ammunition the soldiers had been carrying. Once each Nightman had been outfitted with a cloak and a weapon, they began walking towards a small military outpost located fifty miles from the Tomb of Eternal Night.

They reached the gate a few hours later and after killing the two guards posted at the entrance, walked casually into the camp. They proceeded to walk into the command post where the commanding officer, Major Joseph Heffron, was going over the days plans with his lieutenants.

“You are Joseph Heffron, am I correct?” Cacifica asked, although she already knew who he was.

“Yeah, who wants to know?” Major Heffron answered without looking up from the plans he was working on.

Cacifica smiled and replied, “It is I, Cacifica, and I have come for you. You see, you may or may not know this but you are the descendant of a very great warrior. A warrior who fought and killed fifty men before finally being killed himself.”

Major Heffron looked up from the table, seeing Cacifica and her entourage. “Cacifica? The one who is supposed to rise from the dead and aid the native people of this island when they need it the most? Heh, that’s nothing more than a legend my mother used to tell me. Nothing more than a folk tale that other natives tell to think that there is some hope for them to become the dominant force on this island again. Now if you do not mind I have business to address.” Major Heffron turned his head back to his work, but before he could begin, Cacifica grabbed his face and twisted his head around, and with her other hand she pulled the hood of her cloak off, revealing her jade green eyes and dark brown hair.

“Look into my eyes Joseph.” She commanded. “There you shall see the truth.”

Looking into her eyes, Major Heffron seemed entranced, until Cacifica let go of his face and he snapped out of his trance like state.

“Y-you really are her.” He stammered, now kneeling at Cacifica’s feet. “I-I am sorry, I had no idea. Please, I will do whatever it is that you wish for me to do.”

“I would like you and your men to fight along side of me and my followers. I know why you and your men have been posted here, and I also know that many of your men would gladly rise up in arms against the tyrant that fattens himself on the behalf of those who work the hardest. Tell your men that we will be marching on the king’s fortress once we gather our forces. It will be you and you alone that will be leading my armies, now and in the future, for I see greatness in you, just as I did in your ancestor. Now go, gather more men for our cause, I know that there are thousands who hate the king’s rule. Gather them for my cause. I will return to you in seven days. By then you will have enough men to march to the capital and destroy all that the king has built.”

Cacifica turned and exited the command post, her robe waving in the wind as she walked. Soon she would have a force that would be able to fulfill her destiny; soon she would be ruler once again.

The week passed and just as she had promised, Cacifica returned to Joseph Heffron, however it was not as he had expected it to be. Instead of meeting him face to face, she spoke to him in his sleep.

“It is time Joseph. Send your men to capital and await my signal. I expect you to be there in three days. Do not enter the city until I give you the signal. By the time you reach the city, the king and his court will have already been slain, and I will have regained my rightful place of ruler of this island. I will give you your mission once you reach the city.”

When Joseph woke the next morning he relayed the message to the men he had managed to attract to the cause. In a week he had managed to grow his forces to almost one thousand men, and had managed to acquisition a small armored force of three M-1 Abrams, as well as four Bradley M-2s. He ordered his forces to move out towards the capital city of Charleston. It would be a hard march to get there in three days but he was not about to disappoint such a powerful woman.

Inside the city, the king had all but forgotten the dream he had the week before and had continued business as usual. He was sitting at his desk drinking coffee while reading the morning’s news when the alarms began going off. However no body entered the King’s office to see him safely to the bunker underneath the city. He stood up from his large leather chair and began walking towards the door when he heard a voice that seemed to come from behind him.

“You can run all you want Mr. Oliver, but you will not escape this building with your life.”

King Oliver spun around quickly, not seeing anyone. He began walking to where the voice had come from. When he got near his desk, he noticed that there was somebody sitting in his chair.

“W-what do you want?” He asked. His face was turning very pale, and the hairs began standing on the back of his neck.

The person in the chair spun the seat around, revealing a very beautiful woman. It was Cacifica. She stood up and walked towards the King, stopping when she was only inches from his face.

“What do I want? Why, I thought that was quite evident. I am here because you have something of mine, and I would like it back.”

The King took a step back and trying to regain his authoritative tone of voice began to speak. “Who are you?” He asked, his hands still visibly shaking in fear.

“But Mr. Oliver, you already know who I am, and you know what I am here for. I am what you put off as legend, I am Cacifica and I am here for my throne.” Cacifica reached into her robe and pulled out a short sword. “This is a sword that was passed down throughout the generations of your family’s illegitimate rule over this island. Now however, it will be the weapon which ends the line of kings of this island, and will, ironically, be the weapon which restores me to my former position. Now prepare to meet you fore fathers in the heavens, your highness.”

The king’s eyes widened as Cacifica drew her arm back and thrust the point of the sword into the stomach of King Oliver. Fully enjoying the pain she was inflicting, she began thrusting the sword upwards, picking the king off the ground until she heard the last of his breath exit his now limp body. Pushing the body off of the sword with her free hand, she wiped the blood off of the sword with the shirt of the now dead king. She walked to the side of the body, and positioned herself so that the neck of the king was almost perfectly in the middle of her body. She grasped the sword with both hands, and raised the sword over her head. And with one great thrust downward, she sliced into the king’s neck like a knife through a cloud, sending his head rolling towards the wall.

Pleased with her work, she walked towards the doors and opened them, revealing two nightmen.

“Take his head, as well as the rest of his court, and post them on the wall of this palace. Show these invaders what will happen to those who defy my rule.”

The two nighmen nodded and entered the room, picking the head up and leaving, walking towards the front wall of the palace.

OOC: yeah well actually not really. This idea actually came to me when I got back my nation from inactivity, and Ive really just been writing as I go along. I really dont think about the things before I type them. I find I keep adding things and stuff like that to the point its nothing but details which sorta throws off the story. But I appreciate the comments.

Oh, and if you see any similarities between characters and AMF's its purely incidental. Sometimes I uncontiously use ideas that I like and incorporate them into my stories, but I will be trying to distinguish them from AMF's characters as much as I possibly can though. So AMF, if you read this Im sorry if it seems like I copied your characters.

I'll admit that I've copied several things off other people, or atleast used their ideas to refine my own.

IC: “Finally here,” Joseph Heffron thought to himself as he stood outside of Charleston. He had pushed his men to the brink of exhaustion but he had arrived in only two days, and was now waiting for Cacifica to give him his orders so that he may move into the city and assist her in her bid to reclaim the throne. There was a stench coming from the city that could not be described, but everyone knew what it was. It was the smell of burning flesh. A large plume of smoke was rising from the center of the city, and the outskirts seemed to be completely void of all life. It was not until early the next morning when a small group of civilians reached Joseph’s position, and told him to go into the city alone to meet with Cacifica.

As he walked through the streets towards the palace, he was amazed with the speed she had been able to pacify a city with over a million people in it, as well as the fact that the only building that seemed to be damaged was the palace itself. As he neared the palace walls, something caught his eye. As he got closer he realized what it was. On the palace walls in a single row were the heads of over fifty men, women, and children, each of them part of the king’s royal court. He looked for the King’s head until he saw it perched on top of the gate of the palace. A shiver went up his spine as he walked up the winding path towards the doors of the palace.

As he reached the first set of steps that lead to the entrance, the doors flew open and Cacifica stepped out and began walking towards Joseph. Once they had reached each other Cacifica addressed him.

“I am glad to see that you have made it. However this is not a time to be celebrating. I am certain that there are several places where my presence has not been accepted. This is why I must ask you to take your men and use them to weed out any who would attempt to overthrow me. I do not want you to kill them however. I want to you take them prisoner and send them to the site of the Tomb of Eternal Night and have them begin construction on a new capital. You will find that construction has already begun on a new palace by those loyal to me and this island. Do not allow any of the infidels access to that project. I do not want it stained by the hands of those who do not respect my power over this island.

Also, I would like you to begin burning the city. All those loyal to m have already been ordered to take what belongings they can to the site of the new capital and most have already left. I will leave you to these tasks; fore I must go to the coast where my navy awaits.”

Joseph bowed before starting to walk back to his troops to give them the orders he had just received. Cacifica smiled slightly as Joseph walked away and thought to herself, “I see greatness in you, just as my father saw in me, grandson.”
