Within the Crab Nebula, Ven Ker'seahn spun slowly, surrounded by the twisting mass of fighters that constantly surrounded it. Scattered across the nebula were groupings of vines, writhing as they worked to construct small stations and hatcheries. Closer to Ven Ker'seahn, just outside the borders of the spinning mass of fighters, were seven completed structures, whirring quitely as electronic components pumped energy in the organisms wrapped around them. Suddenly, the sides of the creations snapped open, and the creatures slowly spread, slowly forming something larger... deadlier...

OOC: If you want to enter now, you can. If you want to wait, that's also fine. And if you didn't know, Ven Ker'seahn is a sentient planet, which recently destroyed almost all of JJR. Also, yes, this would give off massively large and strange energy readings.

Anomalous and interesting energy readings inside the crab nebula do not go unnoticed by the RGF for long, and soon a ship is sent out to investigate...

This area also was the furtherest extended exploration point of the 10th Gaian Exploration Fleet.

The Essex Class Warship Gauss and the Avalon Class Cruiser Lucen led a group of five vessels, as two Monolith and a Magellan Class JumpShip carried the elements of the 15th Emerald Wingfire Cluster and the 202nd Goddess Archon Wing, carried upon ten DropShips attached.

Their current run was about to end at the Crab Nebula, about 15 Jumps from Republic Territory. They were about a month out from the Rim Mirror System, avoiding the area designated as the Neo Zeta Territories. The round about route they took led them to this point.

They were actually more interested in the small System that had a dominating view of the Crab Nebula, about 6 Light-years away, when they arrived at 1644 Hours - White Diamond System Standard Time.

Commander Horus Fen commanded this Fleet. Cluster Commander Afura Mons Commanded the 15th Wingfire.

"Yes what is it?"
"We're reading a massive, and wierd energy spike originating from the Crab Nebula."
"Set course for the CN."

The 3rd Fleet's engines powered up as the ships rotated toward the Crrab Nebula

"Heading locked, course selected."
"Then lets go."

Somewhere outside Republic space

Beep...

Beep...

Beep...?

BEEP!!!

BEEEEEEEEEP!

Half asleep at his console, Jr Grade Lt. Mark Grasus of the I.N.S. Marathon was jarred completely out of his seat by the insistant beeping of his display unit. He recovered quickly, getting up rather dis-sheveled but alert. As he read the information that was streaming up the holo-screen in front of him, his eyes widened, moment by moment.

The Marathon was a Beehive class escort carrier/destroyer that, along with two other destroyer squadrons, had been sent out of the Republic to explore the galaxy around them. They hadn't really come across anything exciting yet, the biggest surprise to them being running into a scout ship from some alien civilization in a long abandoned system that, if scans read correctly, had once hosted a class I civilization.

When they had attempted to make contact with the other ship, it exploded in a fiery conflageration that continued going for the whole day they spent in the system. Some of the captain's officers and a few of the pilots were interested in probing this wierd phenomena, but other minds prevealed and the Marathon moved on.

Right now, though, something was showing up on long range scanners that blew every other event out of the water. Passive sensors were picking up one of the strangest energy signitures Mark had ever seen. He spun around in his chair to check the GAD holo-display in the center of the bridge.

"Computer, GAD range concentrate on location .0046-017-106. Report anamolies larger than Class A Moons", he said as soon as he noticed he couldn't find anything on the display himself. As officer of the watch, he was the only one on the bridge, aside from the captain, but he was in the isolation zone right near the viewport.

In a soothing but completely mechanical voice, the computer responded, "One class C-9 planet sized gravity signiture, recommend sending a scout from the fighter squadron".

Mark mulled over this a moment before standing up and heading towards the front of the bridge, through the isolation field, and speaking to the captain.

"Sir, we've got an immense energy signature coming from within the nebula nearby. The GADs are picking up a GS roughly the size of a C-9 planet, what shall we do?"

The captain, a middle-aged man assigned to the Marathon a little under two years ago, turned slowly to regard the junior officer before him.

"Hmm, what do you suggest?"

"Well, the ship's computer suggested sending out a scout group, but we've only got one Wasp available, the other two are currently undergoing repairs to their spurt-jump engines".

"Well then, I would think any scouting force we sent wouldn't exactly be secure".

"No, not really sir".

"Very well then, send the first flight group from the SSF-92's out with the only remaining Wasp to scout. The Firecats will stop with-in a light hour of the objective, and the Wasp will continue on with all active counter-measures on".

"Yes sir, I shall convey the orders immediately. The major won't be so happy to be woken up this late, though".

"Oh, Yletski can get his sleep when he gets back. He already sleeps twenty minutes more than any squadron commander in the IN".

"Sir, he claims more sleep when we aren't on combat duties will help his pilots perform better when we are..."

"Look Lieutenant, just go relay the orders".

"Yes sir!"

A half an hour later...

"Squadron, check in".

"Two here. All green and ready to fly, sir"

"Three. Do we get to shoot anything?"

"Wasp-Three, are you slow-pokes ready yet, I've been waiting for ten minutes".

Major Yletski, commander of the Marathon squadron for which this ship, their home base, was named, chuckled a moment. He was always amused by how cheeky his pilots always were, he knew that's why the first commander of the Marathon had left two years ago, he'd had a stick so far up his ass that he could roast marshmellows with his mouth.

He was also very glad that all of his pilots had survived their missions since then. All barring one, of course, but Yletski avoided thinking about her...Jan...

With a mighty shake of his head, he banished all thoughts of the past and flicked a switch in his cockpit.

This is Marathon One calling Hanger 1 FC, we're ready to go. Are orders standing?

The response came out of the speaker that no one but the mechanics who worked on the Firecats could find:

Marathon One, this is Hanger 1 FC, all orders are concrete, you've got the green light to go

Thanks FC, Marathon One, out

When he once more flicked the switch on his command console, a green light lit up right next to a red one. Yletski hit another switch and the red flicked to green. At the same time, he became immersed in his ship, his SARA link making it part of him and him part of it.

He nudged himself out of the hanger, closely followed by the two other SSF-92's and the single I-11/B Wasp. Normally the Marathon carried twelve SSF-92's and four bombers, but it was decided that all the destroyers leaving the Republic on this mission would be outfitted with Wasps modified as recon ships. This slowed them down a bit, but they gained greatly increased stealth and retained their abilities as interceptors.

"Ok people, I'm sending the navpoint out right now, we're to reach the navpoint and jump to our assigned locations. Wasp-One, you're going to be alone out there, but we'll be very close by, a single call and we'll be there with you. You're to record all sensor readings you can for thirty total minutes, set your mission counter accordingly. Two and Three, we're going to be waiting the same amount of time".

"Reading you here, sir, but one question: how will we know Tel -- Wasp one -- has made it out?"

"We're going to keep our GADs at full. When Wasp one jumps out, he should pass right through our range and we'll be able to read his passage".

"Affirmitive sir".

One by one, the fighters hit the nav point and jump towards their destinations...

=========================================================

When Flight Officer Telson's Wasp finally hit its destination, he could say only one thing:

"Holy shit..."

He turned on all the recorders in his ship and gathered as much sensor data as he could.

Slimy, glistening vines intertwined, fusing themselves with mineral-rish nebulea gases and the contents of each of the seven structures. Ever so slowly, they began to form into ship hulls, monsters of space that dwarfed even the Fortress Hives, and easily oversized the Brood Destroyers. From Ven Ker'seahn, radio waves pulsed through space, "Go forth and feed, my Beasts!"

The Gaian vessels though had no clue as to the events unfolding near them. They were at the moment concerned with the exploration of the current System.

Only two, barely formed worlds and a star that was in a rather old red giant stage. This was unusual for a star near a nebulae, but then the stars were rather varied.

However one iota did garner their attention.

"Ascendant Signature here?" Commander Horus replied back to the Sensor-Tech that brought attention to such. "Aye.. reading it near the second planetoid.

..if I didn't realize better, it's hiding it's size."

Horus cocked an eye. "Well well.. what have we found this time around my fellow souls."

The Fleet was obviously sent deeper into the System to investigate.

The comm channels recieved stayed silent, the message falling on uncaring ears. Inside the ship, a new set of muscles began to flex and pulse, and weapons began to pull from the sides. Strange combinations of metal and flesh revealed themselves and slowly charged with energy. Racks of twisted missiles flipped up and forwards. With a lurch, the two ships shot forward, the fighters straightening their paths in order to keep up.

"Weapons signatures hot! Reading mutiple bogies!"

As the crew started to panic, some due to inexperience, Commander Horus simply stood up.

"KEEP TO YOUR TRAINING! All vessels prepare for hostile fire! The two Warships will take point. The JumpShips will continue on towards the Signature and hopefully find cover.

Deploy fighters and arm all cannons and torpedeos. Charge up the Distortion Fields."

Horus then adds. "Let's do all this by the numbers people. Keep all eyes sharp and work as a team.

Let's do it people!"

The three JumpShips began to burn as hard as they could towards the Signature. Meanwhile the two Warships deliberately turned broadside as the OmniFighters scrambled into three by three groups.

At 1,000 kilometers the weapons would begin to make locks and the NavalShark and Barracuda torpedoes would launch.

It was to be the Gaian Fleet's first battle.

Berem Lanskly aboard the UWS Sailor was very anoyed with his captain. First of all, the fool goes and jumps into Hyperspace with nary a glance at navigation, then he orders them all to start drills during their free-time. In Berem's opinion, free-time was his time.

Thats why when Berem noticed something actually moving on his sensor screens he, quite literally, jumped out of his boots.

"What is it, Sensors?" Asked a similarily anoyed Captain Wer'eh. He was anoyed because Navigation had initiated their Hyperspace jump before he gave the order, which had promted him to order drills on what you do when your commanding officer does not give you something to do. The answer being shut up and pay attention to what you're supposed to pay attention to. Oh well that was what you got when you were handed boarding orders with a shipful of fresh-necked trainees.

"It's unidentified, as of now, but by the emanations we're receiving from it... It seems to be half mechanic and half organic. Sir." Replied "Sensors" Berem.

"Hostile?" Captain Wer'eh narrowed his eyes.

"No actions to make us think that, Sir. Although it does keep coming." Answered Sensors.

"Officer Obeck, take this ship to Status Yellow, Communications, try to get a link through to that vessel."

Like a pane of glass hit with a baseball, the wall of fighters broke and spread into defensive formations. The claw-like protrusions coming from the wings began to charge with energy, brightening until they were a blinding white, and released thin lasers, powerful enough to scar planetary crust. The streams of energy were directed at the heavy battleships, as they were the closest visible target. Wingtip turrets readied for closer threats, whilst the middle to long range missile pods began to release their payloads with ferocious rapidity at the two enemies.

((Actually they're just Cruisers...))
---

The strange fire lances hard and true. "BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!"

The beams sliced through one unfortunate OmniFighter, as they hit the two Cruiser's Distortion Fields dead on. The blast, despite their lethality, are deflected enough to prevent heavy damage to the vessels.

However the strikes get something though, causing the hulls to glow and warp readily.

Within, several Gaian crew members are boiled alive.

As the first strike ends. Horus growls back. "Nice first strike."

"Distortion field down 27 percent! The beams struck level 15 and 16 hardest!"

Horus though has his eyes on the tactical display. Already the Omnifighters are bursting through the enemy fighters and at the two strange vessels. Despite the lack of fighter cover, the Crusiers have enough to protect themselves.

"Ready?"

"480 kilometers! Closing fast!"

Horus calls it simply. Release first screen of torpedoes. Batteries target the enemy fighters!

A gamut of 45 tormpeodes suddenly shoot out in four successive waves from the two vessels. Heavy Naval Lasers begin blasting out to support the torpedoes.

Horus then yells.. "Is the Gravity Blast Cannons ready?!"

"One minute!"

Horus only seeths to himself. "Better be a damn fast minute."

Again the signal was ignored. The ships continued on, gaining speed as they headed towards the source of the Ulntran communication. Again, weapons unfurled themselves. Under even the briefest of inspections, one would realize that while the design of the ships was identical, each one had a different loadout of weapons.
Jangle Jangle Ridge
19-02-2005, 05:57
With ease, turrets shot away at the torpedos and fighters, allowing only a scattering of the ballistic weapons to get through, and those blocked by the shields. The lasers went unopposed, but they were easily counter-acted by top layer of shielding. From the missile pods, heavy streams of explosives continued to fling themselves towards the enemy cruisers. With another charge of energy, another solvo of heavy laser fire came. The twin spikes on the front of the ship also began to reveal their purpose, as a gravatic flux grew and twisted between the prones. Within the dragon idols' mouths shone a light greater than that of the laser projectors, seemingly some kind of charging attack. And yet... nothing emitted from the mouths, while the light just continued steadily.

The Gauss's and Lucen's Distortion fields were taking abeating, and their own attacks weren't getting through.

Horus knew this battle wasn't winnable. "Defensive Screen Sphere Two! Fire the Cannons on my signal!"

--

Meanwhile, the three JumpShips, led by Commander Afura made it to the Signature Point.

The teal-raven maned beauty took a look, as she kept an eye on the one sided battle. "Did you send the Ascendant Code?"

"Aye!" A Comm-Tech hollars.

Afura then quips.. "This better be worth it."

A shout then screams from Comm again. "It's the Gauss!"

----

"The hell!? What do you mean they can't move!!?" Horus roars as.. "The Gauss has lost helm control!"

"Sir! Gravity bubble forming around the Gauss!!"

Horus finally feels a sense of panic. "Tear it.. Fire the Cannon!!!"

All of a sudden, a massive black lance of energy shoots out from the Lucen's bowels, striking at the closest alien vessel, trying to disrupt their attack, whatever it was.

With even more ease than the other two, turrets on the lone Beast shot into space, detonating in midair and creating gravatic fluxes. The missiles were plucked from the sky and ripped to nothing as they reached the barrier of gravity. From the dragon idols' mouths, instead of light, two large cannonball-like orbs shot outwards. Should they detonate, each would bloom into 25 encircling gravatic fields. Rather than using missiles, this ship used Particle Accelerator Cannons, Railguns, and Gravatic Acceleration Cannons to attack from far away.

OOC: Aww, no demolition orbs? :)
Jangle Jangle Ridge
19-02-2005, 06:35
The gravatic flux twisted slightly, before shooting forwards, throwing the beam off path as it went past. While it was intended for the cruisers, it instead took a path towards the closer gravatic field of the JumpShips. While this was a mere four-field weapon, it was immensely stronger, and would mostly likely at least be capable of pulling the enemy ships into a collision with each other. As if for revenge for redirecting the weapon, all of the weapons but the long-range turrets and missiles, along with the heavy lasers, were turned on the jumpships. From each of the dragon idols' mouths flew an orb, much like those from the other ship. However, these were pulsed energy devices, using direct current from the powerplant to slowly charge.

OOC: Hey, I haven't used the two special weapons for the other of these two ships yet. Also, there are 4 more ships around. FYI, the orbs I'm using were used on a MUCH larger scale to blow up a solar system. However, they were fueled by the thermal energy from about 10 planets, so there is a huge difference.

Horus watched the Blast Cannon beam and impossibly some of the laser fire shot towards the JumpShips. "How the hell?"

They were all just dots well away from the two Cruisers, but the shots homed in. When they got there, they made a tremendous explossion amid the JumpShips. The two Cruisers could only watch helplessly. Worse, the Gauss was still immobile.

"Dishonorable bastards." ..Horues seethed to himself at the alien vessels. "You have no honor."

With the situation hopeless, Horus did the only thing he could. "Fall back, all fighters fall back. Screen Sphere Pattern Delta-Two!

Extend the Distortion Field to try and break the Gauss free!"

Meanwhile, 22 surviving fighters managed to fall back to the Crusiers, fending off the alien fighters well enough. Many were beaten up though. The Lucen attempted to free the Gauss, but with no ssucess. they both were toast, and they knew it.

Just then though and all of a sudden, a strange shimmering field began to envelop the two Crusers from out of nowhere!

Horus looks around, and.. "Now what the hell are they pulling?"

One missed detail however, was that the shimmering field wasn't letting the alien weapons through. But where, why and how wasn't clear......

Horis thoigh kept blaiming it on the alien, silent enemy, his mind too frazzled.

OOC: I'm sorry. It's 1:30 AM... and I should be sleeping. Also, it's my first RP in weeks... worried about it dying...
IC: As if raising their hackles in in rage, the spines on the ships' noses raised higher. Seeing the weapons merely being blocked, the Beasts changed tactics. Every gravatic weapon and turret was aimed between the two enemy ships, and fired in abundance. Over a hundred gravatic fields all twisted in a lump between the two cruisers, creating single field with more strength than a black hole. Even if the projectile weapons wouldn't work, the ships could at least try to pull the cruisers into a maelstrom of gravity.

---

Three damaged OmniFighters got caught in the focused malestrom, as the blast hit home.

However they found no primary target.

Horus was looking at the incoming blast with an admitted last prayer on his lips, but the shimmering field had other ideas.

Just as the gravity maelstrom ripped at the fabric of space, another force yanked the two Crusiers and remaining OmniFighters away. The effect on the crews was less than gentile.

Horus and half the two crews about 'lost' it due to warping effect of being dragged into a side-pocket dimension.

..the one that another suprise was waiting as they emerged within the seperate pocket of space.

"Who, what, how, where?!?" Horus kept blurting out..

":: Just in time... ::"

Horus stops and recognizes the voice. He then sees them. "How by the Goddess?"

The three JumpShips were alive and well. Afura was the voice. ":: Why not as them... ::"

Horus cocked an eye and looked bout, suddenly noting something wrong.

..not the off color tone purple shimmering field of a subspace dimension..

..rather the 'massive' detail occupying too much of the starboard viewports.

Horus just blinks several times and then heads to his command chair. He sits down with a... "I give up. Just what the hell is going on?"

((~ Learn by the hand that availed you unto life. ~))

Horus looked up and about... "What the hell was that!?"

OOC: Theao, what I shot at you are gravatic bombs. They hit something and explode. When the explode, rather than making a fiery ball of doom, they create over 20 seperate fields of gravity. This causes targets to be ripped to shreds almost instantly.
IC:
The Beasts were... annoyed. Sensors extended, probing the STC for clues of a distortion... there... To stop escape, a small SDi field was pulled around the mouth of the pocket universe, while leaving the rest uncovered. As though effortlessly, a Spacial Distortion field whipped out and slammed into the side of the pocket universe, to collapse it in one fell blow and destroy everything inside.

Back within the crab nebula, the seven structures again sputtered to life, the powerplants shuddering as they gained energy. Beams of light jutted from the sides of the devices, connecting not only the original seven pods, but every JJR structure in the crab nebula. Using power and building materials from the remnants of the old Jangle Jangle Ridge, and the organic materials from the new, something new was being hatched...

ooc: the first post on the second page? I'm going to respond to that. ohh goddy i get two. UWS sailor is SO dead.

ic:

"Captain, ship, no ships have gone hostile!"Cried Sensors

"Go to Status Red! How many ships?"Snapped Captain Wher'eh

"Looks like... 2 (your ships size)'s and multiple fighter signals."Replied Sensors.

"Battle command, heat up the lasers and missles and have the fighters launch and assume tafla formation. They are going to find out what those things have to throw at us."Ordered Captain Wher'eh.

"Yes, sir."

"Navigation, bring our speed to .89 sublight and move away at mark 457" He snapped at the helmsman who had gotten them into this mess.

"Bringing ship around to mark 457 at .89 sublight, sir."answered Navigation

"Ship's officer, issue battle orders. Comm send distress beacons out. Those things may take us down but not without a fight."Said captain Wher'eh.

7 minutes later.

"Bring 'em around boys." Said officer Creed, commanding officer of the six small fighters he and his "boys" were flying recon on the aproaching ships. "Breen, send footage back to the ship. Send our diagnosis too." "Breen" was an artificial intelligence that helped with navigation and other things aboard a fighter. All of the fighters on board the UWS sailor had one.

"Bring ships up to 1.23 sublight"Creed ordered. "and put there noses to mark...364 and go tafla." All six fighters immediatly sped up changed their direction and formed a long bullet-shaped formation that speeded torward the two approaching ships.

As the ships approached, only a small section of the weapons fired, a combination of missiles and grenades. Three-fourths of the way to the target, the missiles trigged, unfurling into flat globs of plasma, which would render any of the high-speed ships coming towards them with a combination of heat, and sudden friction. The grenades, upon detonation, would show no instant outwards signs of it. However, the explosion inside them would crack the superdense material they were made from, and cause them to collapse into a short-lived black hole.

((OC- Back... ))
----

Horus was looking over all the strange data readouts and preparing to travel over from the Lucen, when the vengeful attack came.

..however all he felt was a 'thump'. "Bloody heck?"

What wasn't seen, was that the pocket dimension had already known the type of attacks that were coming. Gravity attacks after all had one weakness..

..inertia. All gravity still obeyed Newton's Laws, or whatever the various name and format called by other races, it still obeyed the whims of intertia, no matter how powerful a wave.

..the inertia then was something that could be altered, reshaped, and even redirected, with the proper forces. This was what the pocket dimension did at it's effect edge, as the strike was simply 'split' into hundreds of diluted wave patterns, and then shunted into a seperate minor dimensional 'nullifier' each, where the specific dimensions 'used' simply absorbed the approrpiate waveform each.

..thus the only effect left to hit the dimension within a split second, was not a massive strike, but a small wash of gravity. Not even exotic particles passed through the dimensional barrier.

The power used was sentient of it's own auspices, one far more advanced than anyone suspects.

Horus though wasn't aware of all this, just yet. He was simply trying to reach Commander Afura, and meet her within the Dockway hatch connecting it to a huge find.

However the Ascendants were becoming aware of the intrusions by the alien interlopers and were beginning a new countermeasure.

..already the dimensional pocket began to shift some.

Seeing the gobs of plasme and grenades, and guessing(correctly) that the grenades were worse than they looked Officer Creed Yelled."Veer off!" All six fighters broke to the starboard and where narrowly missed by most of the projectiles. However one Grenade did hit one of the fighters with a loud "clunk!" Luckily it blew after hitting the fighter. although the fighters nearest the Mini-black holes weren't damaged greatly, they did reseave a good dishing out of damage.

"Turn to mark 364 and increase speed to 1.73 sublight!" Creed was angry, all the simmering annoyance and resentment comming to a boil. On my mark go nova and fire half your missles, then regroup at the Sailor."

Six fighters moving almost as fast as light zoomed torward the two ships.

"Mark!"Creed's command burst apart and fired half its missles at the two ships and their fighter escorts. Three fourths of the way there the missles all burst into 4 smaller Burst rockets, which all sighted on an unfriendly and started their (much) smaller engines. this resulted in a few minor explosions, but most of the rockets emerged unscathed and continued on their courses.

meanwhile the Six fighters had flown back to the Sailor at top speed, the ones running at tip-top(minus half their missles) staying in a possition in between the two alien ships and the Sailor, while the others went to the bay for a quicke re-fit and debreif.

the fighters landing where fitted with Rohn guided missles instead of the normal Topak.

OOC: Gaian, it was not a gravatic attack. It was a Spacial Distortion Field. It tears and shapes the Space Time Continuum, basically what each universe is made of.
IC: As the missiles neared, the Yamamoto cannon on each wingtip fired, destroying the missiles in a massive wave of energy. The cannons cooled and went into their charging stage. From the wing bottoms, Particle Accelerator Cannons began to fire, sending thousands of high-speed particles at the fleet of ships.

Officer Creed watched as the 12 rockets were destroyed by a single energy wave.

"Oh my goodness, that's not fair." Said two.

"Cut the chatter, Two."Ordered Creed." Breen send the footage to the Sailor." To himself he thought*you're right Two..that is no fair.*As the rest of the Fighters joined him he gave out orders

"Ok, go Black and engage fighters. Hopefully those things won't attack us in fear of hitting their own fighters." The six fighters once again formed up and, building up speed, began to fly straight towards the fighter screen around the two enemy capital ships.

--------on board the UWS Sailor--------
"Captain, our fighter's missles had no affect on the enemy." informed
Sensors

"What? Give em a full salvo of missles and lazers. FIRE!" ordered Captain Wher'eh

"Firing now, Sir." replied Combat Command

4 Mackoph missles sped torward the two still unidentified capital ships. Far in front leaped the lazer bolts, quickly passing the Phrack fighters, which relesed another flurry of Tolph missles that quickly fell behind the lazers and stayed in front of the Mackophs, and continued on their distructive paths.

ooc:
The Tolphs will split in front of th Mackophs before the Mackophs reach the ships screating a screen to stop the energy from destroying the Mackophs. geddit?

The salvo of lasers was ignored, the streams of energy either bouncing off the reflective shielding of being absorbed by the particle shielding below it. Unlike the lasers however, the missiles were simply too numerous to merely allow a full strength hit. Point defense systems spun to life, spraying bullets and beams of energy liberally across the void. And yet, while missile after missile was cut down, more seemed to come. Explosions began to pepper the hull of the ship, to the point where burn marks began to sprout up before the barrage stopped.

The Beast retaliated violently. Every useable weapon on the ship fired, releasing swarms of missiles, lasers, particles, and bullets. The massive horns that connected to each wing began to raise, and energy began to collect at the tips.

From structure to structure, arcs of electricity began to crackle (Nebula gases, yay for arcing electricity!), as energy slowly built up. Under the strain, the original seven structure began to crack, and literally disintegrating to nothing. Nonetheless, the reactions had been set into motion... nothing could stop the reaction now. Vines slowly began to creep out of the structures and form into a single, massive form...
