Jace: Are We ready to begian?

John Lee: yes we are.

Jace then begian.

* The Ion Cannon slow begians to power up. After a few moments they are ready to fire*

John Lee: confirming the target is Omga Titan sir?

Jace: I have had a change of heart.... Target Omga Titans moon.

John Lee: Yes sir... FIRE!

* the Ion cannon fires it full force at Omga Titans moon. The beam hits the moon and begians to break it apart*

Jace: Hold the beam on aslong as you can.

John Lee: Sir

* the beam is held on for a few moments more untell the moon of Omga Titan was nothing but a cloud of rocks.*

Jace: Stop fireing

John Lee: Sir

* the ion cannion shuts off*

Jace: Good work!

..and the Fredesa Corvette Strike Alpha was there to record the whole event.

The Captian then Jumped the vessel to a nearby dead System to send it's report to Gaian Republic Fleet Command, sending via coded Laser-comm to a waiting relay post at the edge of Gaian Republic Space.

((OC- Might want to be careful about using this in battle. It looks far too overpowered for a simple Ion Cannon. ))

OOC: Aren't Ion Cannons just weapons to disrupt computer systems, rather than actually physically destroy things? Or am I way off?

OCC: More like the CnC Ion Cannon but on steroids. And also some nations will most likely ignore you untill you are older to have sci-fi supper weapons. Hell most nations won't accept you having nukes for a month. But other than that meh

OOC: You'll encounter two principle types of Ion cannons in NS. One is what you've described, a weapon used to disrupt electrical systems. Another is what you would see in Homeworld 2, namely a big beam of ionized atoms that cause massive damage. Type of laser, essentially. I think thats what Neo-Zeta is using.

((OC - Aye, the Homeworld version is what I use in my Fleet defenses, as well as the Ion Cannon Defense platforms in my Systems, based on reverse engineered Ascendant technology.

Course as stated before, this all defensive in nature, and more there to deter any invasions in the first place. Those using them attacking us would get the same rather quickly. =^^= ))

Carridian Defence Forces Marauder-class corvette CDS Corsair was cloaked outside the test area. Beyond a safe distance, but still on a scan range. Ship's sensor officer, officer Mitchell downloaded scan information into his datapad, then took the datapad and walked to the center of the brige. Ship's CO, sub-commander Tarrell was looking at the screen where the ion cannon had just destroyed a moon.

"Son of a...." Tarrell looked at the screen with a concerned look on his face.

"Sir, we got the scan information as we requested" Mitchell said.

"Good work." Tarrell replied and took the datapad. He browsed through the scan data and got even more concerned. "We'll better notfiy High Command. Helm, take us to a safe distance where we can contact Carridia Prime."

Then the corvette flew off, and when it reached the distance where Neo Zetans couldn't scan it, it went to hyperspace. Soon it came out of hyperspace in a lifeless solar system, and sent an encoded message to Carridian High Command.

...which happened to be the same System that the Alpha Strike, though the Gaian vessel operated at the Naidr Jump Point.

The unexpected arrival takes the Gaian's off guard...

"What's their position!"

"...one moment...

....holding almost opposite of us near the sixth world, about 107 million kilometers away from us."

The Commander of the Strike Alpha takes a sigh. "Not an immediate threat. Let's not give them recourse. Hard Charge the Jump Dirve just in case."

Immediately, the superchargers began whinning up in pitch hard and fast, as they began cascading the charge to the Jump Capacitors and the Battery Back-up.

Still, it'd be 32 minutes till they'd be ready to Jump. An emergency Jump into open space however was calculated. A last resort measure however.

..which was better than being outgunned.

Suddenly officer Mitchell's workstation started beeping and an alarm light lit up.

"Sir, we have a new contact!" Mitchell shouted to Tarrell, who was sitting on his chair.

"What? On screen!" Tarrell shouted. A small dot millions of kilometers away in space appeared on Corsair's bridge main screen.

"I want ID now! Did Neo Zeta follow us!" Tarrell gave orders, mildly concerned.

"Negative sir!" Mitchell said while tapping on his keyboard. "I'm getting ID now. It's a Gaian Ascendancy ship. Light....i'd say corvette. It's powering up it's jump systems."

"Damn it...who did they find us? Must have been when we decloaked to sent the comm." Tarrell said thoughtfully. Then a thought came to his mind like a lightning, and it seemed like one to his crewmembers too:"Open hailing channels!"

"Sir..." Tarrell's weapons officer, senior officer Durran said with slight confusion.

"Do it!". Soon after that, a beep signalling open hailing channel sounded. Tarrell took a deep breath and started:"Attention Gaian Ascendancy ship! This is sub-commander Tarrell of Carridian Defence Forces. Please stand down your engine systems. We'd like to talk to you".
