OOC: This is my (Snake Eaters) attempt to teach others to RP properly. Anybody fucks around, straight to the mods, understood?

History of Conflict: The Rogue Nation of KKKAAATTTIIIEEE is a small nation that was granted inderpendence from Snake Eaters some years ago. Despite attempts to maintain a peaceful relationship, KKKAAATTTIIIEEE blocked itself off from the outside world and recent images have shown a large military prescense growing on the edge of the Neutral Zone, a strip of land 10 miles wide between Snake Eaters and KKKAAATTTIIIEEE. It is believed that they intend to attack Snake Eaters, and as such defenses have been stepped up and placed on High Alert.

Location: Border Outpost D-7
Lt Osterchild relaxed with his feet upon the desk. His platoon of Coldstream Guards were busy monitoring the Neutral Zone, in light of the recent photos form across the border. He smiled, safe in the knowledge that KKKAAATTTIIIEEE would never dare to attack Snake Eaters directly...

OOC: OK KKKAAATTTIIIEEE, its your turn to post. I'll wait for you. I will point out any errors in RP'ing, but i'll help you sort them

OOC: Mind if I offer some pointers to the people who are learning to RP here when I see mistakes and what not? I'm glad to see someone starting a thread like this, haven't seen one of these in a looooong time, and God knows it's needed...

OK, read the history that I put, then make your first actions, like say your are an officer, give him/her a name or something, and a title, and state what you are going to do. I'll tell you if I see something amisss

Fort Neptune observation post

"Sir" Lt. Eddly directs toward the command chair behind him.
"Sir?"

Major Woodrow, a lifetime soldier on his last duty post sighs heavily and spins his chair around. "What is it Lieutenant?"

"I have a large build-up of forces near the KKKAAATTTIIIEEE and Snake Eaters DMZ. Looks like something's brewing"

"On screen" the Major snaps. Just what I needed today...I should have not quit smoking "This does look interesting. I will forward this to CIC Command and see what they reccommend. Good work Lieutenant"

"Thank you, sir!"

" Seen these news reports Cap't?" asked Sgt. Izzard, pouring the Captain a fresh mug of coffee.

"What, about the DMZ sit? Oh yes. Don't worry, it's got some of our best boys sitting on it."

"You don't think they will attack do you?"

Captian Muller considered it for a moment," I'm actually inclined to say they would, they are crazy enough after all."

"I hope they don't. My kid brother is in that area at the moment, mum would go nuts if anything happened to him"

"He'll be ok. He's in the army of one of the most powerful nations around, militaristically speaking." Muller looked into the Op's room, and called Cpl. Santos,"Cpl, get in contact with the Maraudersoft boys would you? They have better intel on the DMZ, and I reckon they will be watching with baited breath"

"Will do, Sir"

Marauder Base, CIC Command


Through the smoke, I see the troopers pouring through a hole in the air. I don't find out until later the how and why of it all. I can still hear the shrill cries over the comm network as my army is decimated. It seems like yesterday......

General Sterling comes to with his comm unit buzzing incessantly. "YES? What is it?" he repsonds testily.

"Priority message from Fort Neptune, sir" replies Lt. Col Agnes Reddy, the General's aide-de-camp. Ahhhh, yes. Major "Woody" he thinks. He should have been put out to pasture years ago.
"And what does our esteemed Major have to report?"

"Seems there is a build-up of forces near the KKKAAATTTIIIEEE and Snake Eaters DMZ. Trouble could be brewing"

"Hmmmmmm..." Sterling muses. "Order satellite MT2010 into position and activate thermal imaging. Let's make sure they keep this conflict to themselves."

"Aye, sir!" Lt Colonel Reddy replies. "I'll get right on it"

The SR71 Blackbird, still one of the best spy planes in the world, overflew the DMZ, capturing still images. It had done so every day since the previous Monday, and Intel still wanted more. Warrant Officer George Clunes was getting bored. Not much had changed recently, and it didn't look as though it would anytime soon. Still he thought better to be safe than sorry in this matter Having completed the days sortie, he turned for home.
Down at ground level, Alpha Mech Troop wer getting into position. Their Raptor mechs were the best SE could offer, and they woudl suffice if somethign did break out

OOC: Metal Gear RAY is the basis for these mechs, with some innovations of my own

Marauder Base, CIC Command

General Sterling picks up the red action phone.

"Yessir!" comes the reply after not even 1 ring. In the background Max hears a flurry of activity and raised voices.

"I take it you've heard?"

"Sir, we have." states Colonel De Rossi head communications officer. "I have also taken the liberty of attempting to contact both nations regarding their intentions."

"Excellent work, Colonel. Patch any communications here to me as soon as one or the other responds."

"Aye, sir. Will do. Anything else?"

"Actually, bring COMSAT-2 online and see if you can hack into their command frequencies. Let's see what they are up to."

"Sir!" Max hears the salute, fist to heart, over the line.

I will NOT be caught with my pants down again.

Colonel De Rossi, this is Colonel Arius. I am the head of the Coldstream Guards, and I wish to inform you that all actions taken, including entering the Demilitarized Zone, will be treated as hostile. As such, we would be forced to open fire in such a condition. I am informed that Lord Barbarossa is currently in tlkas ith KKKAAATTTIIIEEE leaders, and will inform you of any changes in the conditions

"Understood, Colonel. If there is anything Maraudersoft can do to aid you in this time of trouble, feel free to ask. With that said, understand that any infringement of Maraudersoft sovereign territory will be deemed an act of war. We wish you luck in smashing those ungrateful infidels whom you freed recently. Colonel De Rossi out"


OOC Is there anything "wrong" that I hear in his voice? Something that would lead me to believe he isn't being truthful?

OOC: Maybe, Maybe not, we'll just have to wait and see won't we. OK, Lesson No.1 - RP'ing. KKKAAATTTIIIEEE the above 4 posts are good examples of fair RP. They don't say stuff like 'OH, I BLEW ALL YOUR TANKS P< HAHAHAHAHAHAH' but they create a narritive, a story. That is the basis of RP, a story. Once that is sorted, then war can occur, but it has to be balenced with other factors, to make it fair and exciting for others to play
