Soviet Statement
Regarding recent oil issues, the Soviet Union has begun to drill specific oil sites in Antarctica and slightly north. Many tankers have been dispatched to the area to sample for oil. Already we have twelve rigs in construction. A further eighteen are expected by the end of the month, and then a further twenty to fullfill Soviet standards.

This oil will only be exported to those that count as Soviet Allies. Otherwise, we will be keeping all oil drilled.

It is the desire of the Royal Government to know if Romandeos is considered by the Hogsweatian government to be an ally.
