Richmond, Capital District, VEC (VSN)- Today, the President of Virginia, Jake Featherston the Fourth, announced that he will begin an estimated USD$500,000,000 Rearmament program, aimed at modernizing Virginia's Navy and Air Force.
"The navy of our great state, birthplace of so many enlightened ones, is in shambles. Our great base at Norfolk is but a shadow of what it once was. Our Air Force cannot even hit a blimp, such is the shoddy state of our technology and training. Now, we will remedy this."
"Effective immediately, the High Directorate has authorized the transmission of fund to the Defense Directorate, which will use them to expand the naval facility at Norfolk, modernize it, and do the same to our shipyard at Newport News. We will also call for the construction of new missile frigates and submarines, as well as an expansion of our Marine Corps to at least 100,000-500,000 men, to react to foreign emergencies more efficiently. Also, the Air Force will receive a new Academy, to be built outside Danville, and money to buy and train pilots on new fighter and bomber aircraft."
Featherston also said, "I am authorizing the chartering of a new Aircraft Company, Liberty Aerospace, to produce aircraft solely for the Combine. New plants will be made as soon as possible."
As he spoke, construction began on new aircraft plants in Central Virginia and in Combine-owned West Virginia, to be built by the middle of next year. The refurbishment of Norfolk, Newport News and the other promised improvements are expected to take longer, about two years at least.
Featherston did note also: "We are looking for foreign investors to supply designs for our air force, as well as foreign capital for our efforts. Any foreign company that wishes to join us can do so."
