In a closed session of the Defence Committee of Congress it has been decided that the funds that were requested by the Naval Department for Project London have been authorised.

These are going to be hidden in the budget for the Defence Department over the next five years until an official public announcement is made.

The Naval Department had anticipated this, and had already gotten the necessary facilities operational, and supplied with labour and supplies that they would need.

These were dotted along the Southern Coast and all were covered on top, and had huge sets of doors around them, the better to not let any satellites see into the cavernous docks that they housed. There were five of these sites on the coast, and each one had an army of 14500 workers, working shifts up to eight hours a day, to get the project underway as quickly as possible.

OOC: This is a Secret IC post so that nobody can say that I didn’t inform the world first. Satellites might pick this up, they are pretty large sites, but my nation has thousands and thousands of miles of coastline, and the information relating to the project is all TOP SECRET and above in classification. More information over the next few days.

In a public announcement, the Defence Department has said that it has issued a contract to Ingalls Shipbuilding for a further 20 Ticonderoga Guided Missile Cruisers, and also for a further 17 Spruance Class Destroyers.

Bath Iron works have been re-issued with the contract for 18 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers along with the on going contract for Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigates.

All orders of vessels are expected to be completed within five years, with more contracts becoming available during that time.

In seperate news, the Air Force Department has confirmed that it has placed an order for 500 FA/18E Super Hornets to be delivered over the next three years.
