Earlier today, in one of the duels that frequently occurs in Thaler City, the Secretary of Defense was gunned down by Admiral Nelson McCloud, the commander of P3X1299’s navy. The Admiral was using a Model 29 S&W .44, while the Secretary was using a Colt Single Action Army .45 revolver. Who uses one of those in a duel, anyway? What a stupid choice for a weapon. Anyone that would use a single action revolver in a duel deserves to be shot, a lot.
In another note, the Admiral also owns a sizeable percentage of the stock in P3X1299 Defense Industries. Because of the fact that MacKenzy was killed, a citizen has ruled that MacKenzy’s stock be distributed according to the percentage of stock that is owned by others in the company. That now puts McCloud as a majority stockholder, and makes him an extremely wealthy man.
In a press release, this morning, the joint chiefs decided that they would allow McCloud to serve as the temporary commander of the armed forces. It appears that he is easily going to become the next Secretary of Defense.”
